I am disabled and I use the direct express card from comerica bank to recieve my monthly benefits on. I have had this card and company for over 12 years. They are terrible and impossible to deal with. They have a customer service number [protected] and that number does not allow you to speak to a customer service representative. You cannot log into your account very easily. And as of december 2022 they changed their website and didnt tell anyone. I now cannot log into my account and I cannot access my card in anyway shape or form. I have bills to pay on january 3rd 2023 and I have no way of paying them since I cant access my card or the website. I have called their number that I gave above and I get nothing. I get a recording that glitches and goes between a man and a womans voice and then when I put in my information it just rings and rings. I cannot access my card at all and I dont know what to do about it. If I cannot pay my rent and utilities by january 3rd 2023 I will lose my apartment and ill be denied my $1000 deposit. I cant close my direct express account because I cant contact someone to get the info I need to switch my benefits to another bank or card.

Desired outcome: and i advise everyone else to do the same as well as contact their states governor and senators as i did.

I was told to dispute a charge from Walmart and when I really dug into it they were not at fault! It was direct express! I thought that I never had problems with them but today as it stand they owe me $1400! I tried EVERYTHING! Even calling Social Security office which they did NOT HELP ME! They wouldn't even take the proof! I tried filing a BBB complaint but that's for not. And now I searched it up online and it seems like they are stealing from everyone! And nothing CAN OR WONT be done about it because it's the government!? Am I crazy!? Cuz this [censored] is HIGHLY ILLEGAL!

There definitely is a ring of thieves in that subcontracted direct express office! It happened to me at least 4 times! Each time it was taken on the third of each month! Horrible customer service! I had to do my own detective work! I was actually on the phone while they were taking out $$! One customer service rep asked me what phone carrier I use? I was like what kind of question is that. When I said T mobile. As I was online. I looked at my account and they charged on my card $98 from ATT .. wtf .. then as I was unlocking my card. They used it again! A nightmare to deaf years! After 4 months I finally was able to close the direct express account through Chase bank! I just had to wait for my monies to be reimbursed! Tell everyone to leave Direct Express! Thieves within!

I hope an attorney sues them and adds me to the lawsuit kathrinebarragan777@gmail.com

I've had nothing but trouble which direct Express. They do not stand behind their card. They tell you they're going to credit your account when you have pre-authorized debits that you dispute, and they do not. Then make it impossible to talk to a live person. I'm in New Orleans. I checked into a hotel use my card on an app for reservation and payment. When I got to the hotel I used my card for the hundred-dollar deposit. I do not know if I lost my wallet or if it was pickpocketed on Bourbon. When I realized I did not have my wallet I tried to contact the new number the [protected] with the way they have the prompts in the automated system I couldn't talk to anybody I had to look at my app finally I thought of to get my card number. Once I reported it lost or stolen they connected me supposedly to the department that handles investigation of unauthorized use. I was on hold for 4 hours and never got to talk to anybody. So I tried to call back to talk to a real person to see if perhaps they only were there during business hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or something like that but because I have cancel that reported it lost or stolen they automatically ordered a new card for you. So now whenever I try to log in and you're using the old card number that I had reported stolen or lost it helps me that there's a new card on the way give me another option and hang up on if you try to log in using your social security card number it tells you you ordered a new card and it's on the way and does not let you talk to anybody and hangs up on you. I have had my card stolen and the person had I guess watch me use my card and had gotten my pin about a year and a half ago. I did everything I was supposed to in the time period that they say that they need you to do it. And the charges were in a parish in Louisiana that is very far from where I live. And they did not give me my money back this was during December the month of Christmas I had no money that whole month. Everyone that I've seen complaining about direct Express on-line and here in New Orleans in person. It doesn't seem to matter how do you fill out the report either this way or that way they're not going to give you your money back no matter what. If you compare all of the cases in people that have filed misuse or unauthorized use, disputed transactions that they did not make. A very very low percentage have they actually given any money back to the card holder. So anybody out there reading my comments if you break it down into percentages graphs etc anybody investigating direct it's very very apparent by the percentages and graphs of the people that file complaint and cards lost and stolen unauthorized use pre-authorized debits etc it seems direct Express only gives 20 to 30% of the people that follow these things back their money when you look at all the other card companies and how many people file for the same reasons. Lost or stolen cards that have unauthorized use, disputes of pre-authorized charges etc. All the other card companies are giving back money to 60% to 80% to there card holders. Why the government and social security officials that are investigating direct Express can't see something so simple and apparent is beyond me. Does anybody reads my comment and knows any of those people investigating direct Express the simplicity of just looking at percentages compared to other card companies. I can also say this. I am so tired of being treated like a second-rate human buy direct Express as well as the social security office people at healthcare and hospitals simply because I'm disabled and receiving money on a direct Express card. I tried to pay a bill but it was declined. I had just checked my balance and my SSDI had just been deposited, so I had the money. Called Direct Express and was told it was a problem with the company trying to run the card. Try again later, we'll I couldn't use my card anywhere so I called back 1st thing in a.m. and someone called saying they were me and I moved and card was lost. So my card was canceled and new one was sent out of state to new address. So that one was canceled and when I received my new one and tried to activate it, it was already canceled. Calling again, we canceled the card going to the other people and sending a new one to me. We agreed to do a one time code anytime someone called in on my account. Received my new card called to activate and it was already canceled. This happened 5 times without getting the one time code. The thing is, the people didn't actually get any money, but I was charged $4.00 a card and $13.00 to Express mail the card, which by the way the fraud dept said they were gonna do so I get it asap to make sure it was good. I had to pay this $17.00 even when they did not use the one time code and even the cards that were fraudulently ordered. I was constantly told that I would get credit then not get it. They said even said that they are a government company and they govern themselves so go ahead and tell him my complaint and he'll tell me no again.

I checked out who the may bank was and I can't remember name right now but I called there and the recording says if it's anything to do with Direct Express to call them...

I would absolutely love to sue them!

Let me help ! I need to sue these [censored]! Won't allow ne to reach a live agent they don't have my ss# on file and my card won't work! I'm in. The phone with social security now. Also they stole $1400 of KY mothers bemifits and she can't reach anyone either.

I'm having the hardest time with these thieves. They also stole $1,400 from my moms account. They are nit answering. Also I can't even get through to then using ss# or card info. To days date is January's 2023. . I'm on hold with sslocial security now to complain.
