I wanted to file a dispute and ACH withdrawal based on numerous pieces of evidence about a transaction in which a contractual agreement was breached by the service provider, which is now closing, and I am unable to reach my funds. However, the branch, represented by Roslyn Thompson-Loyd, refuses to help or file the dispute.

Instead, She blames me and gives me personal recommendations as to what I should do--

I understand the basics of ACH, the grounds on which my dispute is based, and I have a basic understanding of the banking system. My Dispute claims are valid-- One reason an ACH can be disputed is because the recipient party made ingenious claims and misled me, the sender. Another is a violation of terms of service. I gathered supporting images, documents, and evidence that supports my claims and presented them all in this email thread. All indicate fraud and are deceptive. However, no one at the bank seems to know what to do about it.

So in my frustration, listening to her reasons why she couldn't help, I said that: I thought this bank was supposed to be for the people -- as they promote themselves online, a diverse, socially responsible bank with progressive values-- supposed to be people's bank; she cuts me off by saying: Sir, this isn't PEOPLE'S BANK THIS IS AMALGAMATED BANK!

So here it is. The attitude, the level of disrespect... I know the dates these conversations happened so if the bank would like to listen to the recordings, they will find how their managers handle issues.

And this isn't some just bank employee, mind you; she is Assistant Vice President, Branch Service Manager.

I should've taken the reviews seriously.

Decided to give this bank a shot based on its socially-progressive values. Presents itself as being an online bank, but the web portal and app have very limited functionality and are difficult to use. As soon as I initiated a transfer to fund my accounts from my old bank, Amalgamated locked me out of my account and then, claiming "fraud protection" closed the accounts entirely without trying to contact me first to clarify/verify. Now my deposit is locked up and I cannot access it again. They punted responsibility to my old bank to reverse the transfer which doesn't really have anything to do with this. Agents, especially in the fraud prevention department, are unclear on reasoning and don't seem to be informed on what the bank's policies are exactly. I really wanted to give this bank a try because I want my money to be doing good work, but they do not have the customer service skills or infrastructure to be a truly online bank for the 21st century. Still trying to get my deposit returned and won't be returning once this is resolved.

I opened an account with this bank. They did not tell me that they will hold a check deposits for ten days for the first 30 days from the time the account was opened.

After I deposited my first check, I checked if it cleared 3 days after. I did not. I went to the bank to ask and this was the response I got. "ooops, I forgot to tell you that for new accounts, checks will be held 10 days for the first 30 days from the time it was first opened.

How can they"forget" such important information?!?!?!? I think, since not to many people open an accounts in this bank, they intentionally withhold informations. I felt tricked, deceived.

You may think i'm overreacting. But for someone who works paycheck to paycheck, a day delay is too much delay.

I have just called to Customer Service Toll-free number at AB and was very disappointed with the operator. I was trying to understand the policy of this bank and was asking questions. She said that I have to ask this the branch. And at the end she added that they can not overwrite their rules. While I asked her just 2 questions. Very dissatisfied and going to close the account.
