Absolutely abysmal customer service, wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy - I called on 19th of November 2025 to cancel my care plan, after returned my problematic soundbar to the store. I was in formed that refunds are only given as cheques and I should allow 28 days for the cheque to arrive, which said was ridicules, never the less it had to be !
I called them on 15th December to inform them that the cheque still hadn't arrived and must have been lost in the post. The lady explained that I could wait until the 28 days had fully elapsed or have that cheque cancelled only for a replacement to be sent out to me and again wait ANOTHER 28 days. This was getting ridicules, so said I wanted the money paid directly into my bank account, she said she couldn't do that and would make a sort of complaint to another department (you cannot get through directly to any complaints department). She filled out her form and informed me that I should wait 24 hours for them to contact me.
The next day around 10 AM the phone rang and a gentleman talked, I said I wanted the money paid directly into my bank. He replied that he had to firstly cancel the original cheque with the bank, he would do that and call me back shortly to discuss options. I WAITED ALL DAY, BUT NO-ONE CALLED BACK FROM CURRYS.
The next day (17th), I called to see why no-one had returned my call from the previous day, only to go through the same routine of her filling out a form for some other department to look into, this time I was told they would be in touch in 2-3 days!
Today 18th December, my wife had a turn on calling them. The outcome was that they had posted another cheque out to me and we should wait ANOTHER 28 days for it to arrive. It was also explained to my wife that they had told me this yesterday on the phone (luckily I had recorded that for my records) - THEY DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT SENDING OUT A NEW CHEQUE.
Total waste of time, don't bother with the Curries care plan, if you have to get a refund - forget it. they all lie and tell different stories or don't call you back.
Recommendation: Don't buy a care plan
UPDATE 22/12/25
After having had a response - see below, on the day I posted the review, I immediately returned that reply to curries using the contact information in the message, The next day - 19th December, I had received nothing back by late afternoon, so sent off six copies of my original email, just in case the original had been lost?
Monday 22nd today 3PM, still no reply from curries.
I think they reply on Trustpilot and other review sites, just to make them look as if the really care.
It is now 33 days since I cancelled my care plan and still nothing, it's not the amount of money that is important here, it's the fact that they have constantly lied and delayed returning the monies or even having the curtesy to get in touch with me and inform me of what's going on - if they can stop lying.
In my opinion, stay away from Currys care packages, if this is how they treat customers, they deserve avoiding, there are plenty of other electrical retailers out there. Check reviews before you buy...still awaiting contact or a cheque.
