Costco Wholesale Canada review: Poor response to an abusive customer accosting my wife in your victoria bc store

On May 22, my wife went to your Victoria location to shop. She was headed to the checkout to pay for her purchases and observed that a few customers were simultaneously doing the same.

As she slowly tried to get into the lineup a tall man approached her aggressively and started yelling loudly that she had cut in on him in the line. My wife offered to let him go ahead but he continued to escalate his behavior.

He yelled loudly for over a minute repeating words including [censored], slut and [censored] while pushing within inches of my wife. She felt threatened and unsafe never mind disrespected.

There were several Costco employees within a few feet of this. They witnessed it and heard it. My concern is that not one effort was made to support my wife or to protect her from this flagrant violation of her rights. No one called security or offered to help. Certainly no one asked for this man to stop or made a statement to him indicating that his behavior is unacceptable in a Costco store. No one checked in with my wife to see if she was ok or offered assistance to her car to ensure the lunatic was gone. The staff ignored the event and made no effort to restore order or protect a 63 year old woman from aggressive man.

Do you not have a policy or safety procedure for staff so they are trained to intervene in some fashion should this type of situation occurr. I have yo assume a huge corporation like Costco could do a far better job keeping your store s safe destination for everyone.

I would like a response to this please. I’m very disappointed
