I stopped at the Boise Costco fuel station, which is the store I get fuel and shop at. I have a 2020 Hyundai Veloster, and when I passed very slowly over the new speed bump (because my car rides lower than other cars), I scraped a large section of the underside of my car. When I got out, I looked at the other bumps and they all had gouges taken out of the tops of the speed bumps which means I'm not the only victim of these ridiculous bumps. They are also not painted yellow so people can actually see them. They are black with blends in with the rest of the new blacktop. I was told by a store manager (who was very nice), that the height of the speed bumps is determined by Idaho State law. I did some research on laws concerning speed bumps for Idaho, Boise City and Ada County and there are no laws on the books concerning speed bumps and required height. I can no longer get fuel for my Veloster at Costco. Tomorrow morning, when it's not so hot, I have to now jack up my car to see if there's any damage to my muffler or other components.
Claimed loss: Not sure yet. See above.
Desired outcome: Lower the height of the speed bumps and paint them yellow so they can be seen.
