A table was bought black in colour from the Design Quarter team. It was late one afternoon they were working fast with us as they wanted to close. There was my Son, Myself, my daughter in law and grandson.
My Son asked the question if the table 2.4 is big enough for 8 chairs. We were informed that this was a big table and 8 chairs would fit comfortably. The chairs were later chosen 8 blue fabric chairs and delivered at the end of September 2026. Everything was then assembled. Once assembled we found that the 2.4 metre. table was too small to fit 8 chairs. only 6 chairs fitted. The 2 x chairs did not fit as the legs were n the way for the 2 x chairs. My Son phoned the Design Quarter Team within the next few days and did not come right, i then went into the store on the 29th September 2026 and i explained that the table was too small for the chairs they sold us. The lady advised me that they would do a swop for the big table at no extra cost as their sale was still on. After numerous calls to get the big table delivered noone would take my call. i battled to speak to the store manager, she was not in, or unavailable. i phoned the team 9 x times. Eventually i resorted to sending them emails, even went onto the head office site and sent an email. Noone responded and i phoned again. After many emails i was informed that the bigger tables in the same style were all damaged and their decision was there is nothing they could do. Our bad luck. The team on duty that night guaranteed us that the table was an 8 seater. The chairs were also bought from Coricraft not at the same time, as we were waiting for stock to arrive.
Claimed loss: The table cost about R 18 000.00.
Desired outcome: We would prefer our money refunded for the table.
