I was kinda nervous about booking a trip in 2020 cuz of COVID, but with vaccines being a thing, I felt a bit better about it. But then they went and changed their policy so if you gotta reschedule, you only get travel credit instead of your money back. That's just not right, ya know? It's like they're just tryna keep the cash in their own pocket. I used to really like this company, but now I'm just over it.

Contiki Contiki, I gotta say, not impressed

Contiki, I gotta say, not impressed. I've used them a few times and I won't be using them again. They've really gone downhill. My first trip with them was in 2018 to the Greek islands, which was fine. But in 2019, I went on the European quest and that's where things went wrong. Contiki doesn't care about their passengers at all. We had seats on a flight from Germany to London, but Lufthansa overbooked and we had to wait for the next plane, which took an entire day away from our trip. Contiki didn't tell us anything about this beforehand and refused to do anything about it. Then in 2020, Covid hit and Contiki refused to give us a refund for a trip we couldn't take. They suggested we rebook for the future, but I don't have time for that. And now for my most recent trip, we booked the Waikiki explorer trip and asked for a refund of our remaining credit, but they said no and suggested we book another trip. We added our boyfriends and had a couples trip, but the woman on the phone was so rude and said not to expect anything nice because it was a cheap trip. But it wasn't cheap at all! And then the hotel they "booked" for us had no record of our reservation and we had to book an extra night on our own. And then they never paid the hotel and we got charged for the room. I called for an explanation, but they never called me back. I will never use Contiki again and I don't recommend them to anyone. Save your money and go with a better company. Contiki, you're pathetic and I hope this review helps others make their decision.

Contiki I was supposed to go to *** with Contiki in May , but Covid-19 messed everything up

I was supposed to go to *** with Contiki in May , but Covid-19 messed everything up. I called them a bunch of times, but they won't give me my money back, just a travel credit. I really need the money back on my credit card, especially now. Contiki didn't do what they were supposed to do and now they're keeping my money.

Contiki Contiki cancelled our trip cuz of Corona in March

Contiki cancelled our trip cuz of Corona in March . We rescheduled for October using our credits, but they made us pay for travel insurance again even tho they cancelled. Then they cancelled our October trip cuz of Corona again. We asked for our money back cuz we didn't wanna cancel, but they only let us use the credits next year. Plus, they keep cancelling overseas trips and we got a baby now. They cancelled, so we want our money back.

Contiki Had trip booked to go Thailand in March with Contiki

Had trip booked to go Thailand in March with Contiki. News about virus started to get more serious, didn't feel comfortable traveling to Asia. Purchased travel insurance, but insurance company and Contiki wouldn't let me cancel trip. Finally, virus became pandemic, they let me get some money refunded and rest ($462.95) has deposit in which I have two years to use. With scare of covid-19, don't plan on traveling in next two years and want 100% on my money refunded.

Contiki I booked Contiki for Viva *** and thought I was also getting ***

I booked Contiki for Viva *** and thought I was also getting ***. They told me the room in between was on request, not ***. So I paid for Viva Costa Rica in full. But how can that tour already be full with 50 people when Viva Costa Rica only holds 30 people and there are no other tour dates nearby? I think they're running that trip short of 50 people as advertised, and now I'm stuck with a full trip cost and no refund. Can someone higher up please contact me?

Contiki I bought a trip from Contiki in 2019 for spring 2020

I bought a trip from Contiki in 2019 for spring 2020. But, no one could travel in spring 2020. I got insurance in case something unexpected happened. When Covid came, the company changed their policy and only gave travel credit, not refunds. I tried to get a refund from the company, but it didn't work. The insurance didn't help because the company gave credit. I asked my bank for help, but it was too late. It's been over a year, and I still haven't gotten my $1389.00 back. I don't want a travel credit because of Covid, money, and health.

Contiki We buyed a trip to Europe from Contiki for 2020

We buyed a trip to Europe from Contiki for 2020. Because of the pandemic, we were worried that the trip would be cancelled. So, I called to check the status of the trip. The person I spoke with said the trip was still on and if anything changed, we could get a refund. A couple of weeks later, the trip was officially cancelled. We tried to get a refund, but a supervisor told us that due to recent policy changes, we couldn't get our money back. Instead, we got a credit. We got engaged and decided to use the credit for our honeymoon in 2021. But, 2 months before the trip, it was cancelled again without any notification. We had to call to find out. We lost faith in the company and they won't give us our money back. We keep getting the runaround and feel disappointed. They shouldn't take people's money and advertise for Europe trips if they're not sure it will happen. They can keep the deposit, but we want our money back.

Contiki I booked a tour with Contiki for me and my bf in 2, before the pandemic hit

I booked a tour with Contiki for me and my bf in 2, before the pandemic hit. The tour was supposed to happen in 7, but it got cancelled because of Covid19. They gave us a credit for the money we paid, which was nice. But now all Contiki tours are cancelled until 2 because of the virus. The problem is that Contiki only lets people under 35 go on their tours, and me and my bf are turning 36 soon. So we won't be able to go on a Contiki tour when we're ready to travel again. I talked to Contiki about it and they said we could either go on a tour with a sister company that doesn't have an age limit, or give our tour to someone else as a gift. But the thing is, we paid $5,555.25 for this tour and we wanted to go with Contiki, not some other company. I looked into the sister companies and they don't have many reviews, and some of them are bad. I don't want to spend that much money on a tour with a company I don't know. And I don't think it's fair for Contiki to make me give away something that's worth so much money. I've never given a gift that expensive before.

Booking Number: A389531 Booking Total: $9,176.82 Location: *** Background: We booked a 13-night vacation package with Contiki to *** (Kiwiana Panorama) in May . But, due to COVID-19, *** closed their border and the trip was cancelled. We got a future travel credit and rebooked the same trip for the next year. In October , Contiki sent us another email saying the trip was cancelled again because *** borders were still closed. We asked for a refund, but they said we could only get a future travel credit. We wanted to rebook the same trip for 2022, but it wasn't available anymore. We only wanted that specific tour in *** because it had everything we wanted. We told customer service, but they said we could change/pay for a longer tour or push the future travel credit to 2023. We think it's unfair. We also saw something about needing to complete a cancellation agreement form in the terms and agreement, but we were never offered that. We are planning to open a legal case against Contiki, but we would prefer to solve the issue amicably. We just want a full refund since our vacation has been held up multiple years and now is no longer available. It seems like other people have had the same problem, and it's not a good business practice for Contiki to hold people's money hostage.
