Their bill to me states that I need to pay a vacancy charge. I have never heard of them and want nothing to do with them. Their charges cost more than entire electricity bill(which is a different company). I have no idea how they got my information but I recommend staying away from this fraudulent company and not providing them any information if they decide to send you a spam/fraud email. Stay away from these con artists.

I wanted to add in on complaints about Conservice. Our utilities for our 2 bedroom apartment in downtown Los Angeles has steadily increased since our complex switched to Conservice. We are also required to pay utilities with the rent. I'm confused if it is the complex or Conservice that is causing this hike in utilities, I have read that apartment complexes are able to "rip you off" with utilities using Conservice as the billing company. In any case it seems there are enough complaints about this company for a series of years that class action suit should be in progress!

I am very unhappy with this company. I just moved into my apthieves! In Richardson, TX and I received a $309.00 water bill for a 2 br apartment for only one month of service. I have been complaining for over a month now and I just seem to keep getting sent in circles. This amount for an apartment with 2 people or any residence for that matter is unheard of. No one seems to fix the problem but they continue with the astronomical balance on my account. They told me to contact management and have them check for leaks, which I did and nothing is fixed. Based on the bill they sent me they are claiming that 2 people used 19000 gallons of water in a month! Please beware on this company. I am escalating my complaint to the city and obtaining a lawyer. I paid about $20 a month for water before I moved into these apartments and now they are charging over $300. These people are theives!

i am the only person living in my apartment. Further water pressure in my apartment is very very low. Also not much trash was accumulated in my complex and removal was done once in 5 weeks. Further I had inquired with my neighbors their bills are much lower than me. Three people neighbors pay less than me. Also this bogus company charges based on person, skin color nationality etc. Total fraud.

I live in an apartment and the rate I am charged for water is different every month. From 9/15-10/14 I used 1900 gallons of water and was billed $28.01 for water and $30.09 for sewer. The previous month I used 2060 gallons and was billed $28.06 for water and $21.87 for sewer. Aug to Sep 1640 gallons used billed $17.22 for water, $14.01 for sewage.
Why is it that the rate per gallon is NEVER the same each month and I used less one month, but was billed more?
This makes no sense! I have talked to a neighbor who said Conservice is useless in explaining this, so who can I talk to?

I lived in an apartment complex that utilizes the services of conservice. I moved to another apartment complex just 1 mile away and this apartment COMPLEX also use conservice. On my first bill at this new apartment CONSERVICE slapped one time service fee of $45 on my bill. What I need to know is what did they really do to set up my account. " Changing my old address to the new address" SHOULD NOT COST $45. There is also $6 service fee on top of this $45 making it $51 in total. I don't know how a company like conservice is allowed to CON and RIP consumers off in America of all places. Where are the Lawyers?. Consumers MUST organized a class action law suit against this greedy service company to recoup all the monies they have stolen from us. Consumers please let's get organized !. My community has 192 units and each unit has its own meter. They still combine all usage and them bill each tenant based on sq footage of unit. Doesn't matter how many people live there. And that's just crazy. Let me pay for my usage! I'm a single parent- we conserve water! I'm paying for other people's usage that has 2 household incomes and is a family of 4 or 5!
The city charges 4.23 for every 748 gallons of water and .72 cents sewer for every 748 gallons. There is no way my family of 2 should have a water bill of 50 ish and sewer of more than that! This is just outrageous. They are making money off of us. Why?

Cut out this third party, they are getting over on people. It would be best for use to pay directly through the company, we don't need them to prepare a bill. When the company does that already, we are getting over billed on the sewer and water, electricity , they also charge us a service fee to even use them when we didn't expect this. The sewer is $81.50 every month how is it the same every month. Water went up $35 we stop washing as much it seem like it made it go up even more just from us conserving like all this is crazy and is a scam to me. They need to be looked into ASAP!

This past month our utility bill for water and sewage tripled! We know there is no way we tripled our consumption this month. When I call to speak to customer service it connects me to an outsourced line in another country saying I've won a $100 gift card and they need my credit card information. When I decline the offer they either say they'll transfer me to someone who can answer my questions about the bill then they just hang up on me or they say those lines our currently down and hang up on me. Called multiple times and this is what happens every time. My apartment complex is of no help either and tells me to try emailing them instead.

They email that the invoice is ready to view, (because they charge to mail the copy) but the invoice is NEVER ready to view.
That's how they get you to slip up and forget to pay, so they can charge $75.00 late fee, and a $50.00 processing fee.
Taking advantage of consumers who have no choice but to use them if they want the house.

They got the CON in Conservice is about the only thing they do get right. I am an elderly single person and the apartment complex I would believe is in total cahoots with this company. My water and sewer bill does nothing but sky rocket each month and I am the only person in my apartment and very conservative with my water. I have complained to the apartment complex where I pay my rent every month it seems to no avail. I am elderly and on a pension and cannot afford this so what am I supposed to do? I have told them that I am extremely conservative and the girl there today when I paid my rent said it is not by apartment usage? Okay then WTH am I paying for? I should only have to pay for what I use right?
I have lived in Alexan Vinings Apt Atlanta apt for one year and every month i have to go to the office to get help logging in to Conservice b/ c it says no such account, even after its supposedly fixed that month. I am now faced with a late fee b/ c i was out of town and could not pay online. I am suing Alexan Vinings Apts for using a billing service that does not work (vicarious liability principle).

I live in Atlantic City, NJ and I am also a section 8 recipient. My biggest problem I have is my water bill. First if all I rent, I don't own. I work hard, take care of my children and responsibilities. My complex in which I live in have developed new owners and with that have tacked on this so called scamming company. Now I have paid my water bill when it started in 2013. I've noticed I was paying more than home owners and we have yet to see any water meters. I've stopped paying in 2014. Now it's only been two years and there is no way in hell my water bill should be $6900.00. How do I start a lawsuit against Conservice in Las Vegas NV? My water bill went from $60 a month to $104 dollars in July 2023, they refuse to tell me how much water I used, and they clump all residents in with businesses and charge residents at Apt’s elevated charges. There is no way I myself 1 person used $104 of water in July. I called the water dept they said I should be paying around $50 a month not $104. I guess I need to file a complaint with the FTC and I highly suggesrt NV residents do the same if your apt uses them also

Hi,
I just moved to a new apartment complex that uses Conservice for water, sewage and trash. The bills I get from them are through the roof! I've listed out all the things they do, they are conartists and they dont care about you because their client is really the apartment rental company.
1. They charge the same usage to you for water AND sewer. So essentially, if I fill a bottle of water and take it to work, I get charged for two bottles of water. Go figure.
2. That wouldn't be so bad if I was being charged for the water I actually use. The usage is off the chart! I'm single and I live in a 1-bedroom apartment. I work 9 hours a day, home on weekends. My usage is over 4500 gallons per month. Maybe it's true, so I call them up and ask for a usage breakdown on a daily basis. They have it only till August the 14th, and I have to wait till next month before they give me more current usage statistics.
3. I asked if I can see the meters, here's where it gets funny. The meters for everyone is installed in the first floor apartment, and readings are transmitted wirelessly to a device (god knows where) that records the usage and sends it to them. I am not allowed to see the submeter myself and get the readings. So there's no way to tell if the thing is even working correctly.
All in all, their service sucks and they dont care about you, the end user. The only way they're going to learn a lesson is if everyone gets together and sues them. There's plenty of evidence, it all just needs to be brought together in one coherent case.

Below is a recent email from Conservice to my apt complex in San Diego, Ca admitting they have faulty equipment leading to incorrect billing. They actually replaced our meter two months ago, and it's still out of whack. Our bills have fluctuated every month for the past 3 months: $45, then $81, then $48. What's more they don't bother returning the calls from residents, they just sent this email to our management expecting them to do it. Pure laziness.

Good Morning:
In collaboration with your Corporate Ancillary Department, we wanted to make you aware of a trend that we are seeing with the water sub meters in your apartment units and the potential resident questions that may follow.
As you may be aware, there are remote readers attached to the water sub meters in your residents units. As required by law, these remote readers are in place because your watersub meters may be positioned higher than what is easy for the resident toread. The reader provides a duplicate digital display of the actual meter dial, which allows the resident to know what their meter is reading at any given time.
These readers are beginning to fail over time. In the months prior to the failure the remote reader begins to slow down and the readings are actually lower than the resident is actually using. Eventually, the readers fail completely and register zero usage. When this occurs, the water sub meter read will no longer report into Conservice and then we know itis time to replace it. We have been replacing these remote readers during our quarterly maintenance visits.
The resulting effect of this process is that your resident was likely receiving a lower than actual usage read on their bill in the few months prior to the replacement. Once were place the reader, the following months read will be actual usage and may be higher than what the resident is used to. In addition, we are moving into the summer months, which is typically a time when the resident is using more water due to the summer season. Your residents may question the accuracy of the reading since is it higher than their recent readings due to the failing remote readers. You can assure them that it is indeed correct! They actually gota break over the past few months, and are now paying for the water they are actually using.
We would encourage you to utilize our Customer Service Group by phone at [protected] or by email to [protected]@conservice.com to answer these questions for your residents. We have all the data at our finger tips and can answer their questions in detail. In addition, in most cases, we can provide the resident with a day by day usage report of their meter, so they can see that it is indeed operating correctly.

Conservice is an appropriate name. IT'S A CON! I have had the misfortune of living in a apartment complex that utilizes their company and it's been nothing but issues. They over charge (I blame the complex for this also), they are constantly trying to tack on their late fees, even when they are the one who have "misplaced" my payment, the USPS sent a letter and they could not forward my payment due to damage and the latest, they claim to not have received a payment that they cashed! I am looking for a new apartment and it will not be one that uses Conservice. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and it's practices. They are crooks and their customer service people are rude and condencending!

My new lease im going to be paying 11.00 plus a 3.00 administrativf. Fee for Garland trash service from 5.00 flat rate which has been since i lived in my apartment my third party billing is Con Service, But never have been charged a 3.00 fee for garland water or sewage service ever. Is it possible that its not legal to pay a administrative fee for city services in texas? I wish i knew the truth about this situation does anyone have suggestion about this?
From what i understand Conservice and ALL 3rd party billing companies if a person lives rents an apartment and you are late paying ur conservice bill and you pay your apartments ur montly payment instead of paying Conservice directly You cannot be charged a Late Fee at all paying apartment managment ur monthly bill cause yhey cannot make a profit of any 3rd party billing late fees
I have only been in the apartment since December 26, 2014. The apartment complex claimed that this Conservice was a good and reasonable energy provider. All lies! Just received a bill for over $300! How? The house is pretty much empty most of the time. Everything is off at night or unplugged when not in use. And I do mean OFF! I lived in a house (3 floors) for 20+ years and I know how to conserve! They're CROOKED and conning the community! I know for a fact that I'm not using that much electricity or water. I don't believe in wasting or paying for to much of anything when you don't need or have to. With all of the complaints on this ConService, I don't understand why they're still in business.

Our apartment complex just recently obtained the services of Conservice to handle the utilities (i.e. water / trash). I don't mind being billed for these utilities, but they don't seem to be consistent with each months' billing.
I also have a hard time accepting a service fee of $3.25 so they can send me a bill. Plus this company will nickle and dime you...
for example:
Conservice gives you less then 11 days to pay by mail, charges a $3.25 fee to pay by phone, charges a $3.25 fee to pay online...

I am on Social Security and do not get my check until the 3rd of the month and therefore cannot mail my payment until then. Conservice is trying to charge me $7.00 for a late charge that I refuse to pay because my bill is already paid as far as I am concerned. This is not the first time they have tried to pull this on me and I am tired of it. I am also on low income housing which has nothing to do with my bill but they are putting *section 8* in front of my name on the billing statement. I call that slander and I am tempted to file a lawsuit because of it. Conservice refused to change my due date with the excuse that they couldn't because the statements were sent out in bulk. Whatever happens to my bill after it is put in the mail to be sent off is out of my control. Thank you.

Your complex probably won't do anyhing since they hired Conservice to shift the cost of utilities to you and the other residents. Owners love services like Conservice because they can help them recover some of the costs of vacant units, and allow their utility costs to be easily predicted... while residents can have bills that fluctuate with complex occupancy and the usage of other units. Also note that Conservice's bills state that they are not responsibe for postal delays -- but then charge $3 fees for paying online or by phone.
I agree I'm going through exact the same problem. This is the only bill that I have had problems with. I used to send my payments on the mail and it was always on time, but they would apply it late so they could charge me late fees. Now They charge me late fees over late fees. Aren't late fees for paying late? why do do I have to pay fees over fees, if I paid my bill on time?. THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF. And I have complaint to the office apartments and to conservice directly, but they do nothing.

I live in a complex with submeters. When I noticed my water bills varying constantly in usage, I brought it to my apartment manager's attention. I then started tracking meter use DIRECTLY by taking daily readings from my submeter. I caught this company billing me about 200 extra gallons per month, consistently. The meter was tested and is accurate. Conservice customer service gave me completely inaccurate information which was verified by the technicians at Conservice via a conference call between me, them and apartment management. This company is refusing to send a technician out for free to my complex to test the rest of their "metering equipment" as their technician lives about 5 hours from my complex. They actually expect my apartment management company to pay for this even though my management company has MANY accounts with them nationwide. TRUST ME...this company is tacking extra water usage onto your bill EVERY month. I was gone for over a week and my bill was the same as previous when nobody was in my place that entire time. Toilets and everything else have been tested for leaks and are NOT the problem. On top of that, they lie like crazy and put the blame back on the apartment management. They tried to tell me that my manager has my unit listed as TWO occupants but that is funny, because I only get charged garbage for ONE occupant. They have an excuse for everything. The BBB gives them a C- rating. I am also looking into the legality of them charging the online bill pay fee as I believe it is illegal. DO NOT MOVE INTO ANY COMPLEX THAT USES THIS SERVICE. My bills are higher than any place I've ever lived and I've lived in the same city for over five years! CONservice is an appropriate name. If my latest bill is not adjusted, they will find themselves in small claims court.

wow i was not so shocked seeing all these complaints, i am currently in a complex with con service was looking up there website to pay my bill, and seen this. now it makes since. as my bills vary each month. usually a difference of 20 dollars and use same amount of water etc, each mo. i am going to look more carefully now on my statements each mo. thanks for the heads up.

It is your management; they are the ones who collect your monies from ConService. ConService gets a service fee from you and that is it. Your manager is lying to you or is unaware that corporate is inflating the persons per unit to make an inflated profit. Understand this…. The owner of an apartment complex will not allow a company to take money from their tenants and not give it to the owner, think about it. The reason ConService wanted your landlord to reimburse you is, they were sent all monies excluding the service fees collected and are responsible for any over charges, your property manager may be unaware of what corporate does or their relationship to ConService.

I live by myself so I know how much water get's used.
I have complained multiple times about them to my building manager, and to them in person and no one has done anything. I was gone for two weeks during the $258.00 month so I know they are screwing me.

I live in El Cajon, CA They have been ripping us off for years, I have proved the conservice that 3 of the meters blatantly states water irrigation system and they are still charging the tenants for them. The breakdown they sent us is for a 2 months bill cycles. In a 2 months time frame it was 98 dollars between the two months and it took 5 years just to get them to send over the full bill even though the apartment complex owners has given permission for them to do so. Keep in mind I have also been given permission from the complex owner to get a copy of all bills and yet still have no received them all. When I was given the gas bill copy it took longer and I was sent and email that they have been conveniently billing us wrongly and all of us at the complex got a credit for a year of wrongful billing. But back to the water bill. The way they bill the water here is they take the water meters add them all up. Then they take 5% off for common areas keep in mind we are not supposed to be charged for the irrigation systems. Then based on tenancy they get the occupancy number then they take the occupancy number divided by the overall total which gives you the amount each person pays and then based on the amount of tenants in your apartment is what you are charged. So my apartment is two tenants so we are charged 1.6%. but yet again conservice wouldn't help me with any numbers so I had to go backwards with my math. Since they sent over a 2 months bill I did the two months together but then the occupancy number was so low and it would mean only 1 person for apartment lived here which considering I have a roommate I knew it was wrong. But conveniently if you only did it for 1 months it worked perfectly. So conservice is pocketing our money every other month. But when approached with this they do nothing. I just get an email saying you are charged right if you have concerns please email us. Whil I am emailing them and I just have to start the process all over again. My apartment complex company is super helpful and the water district helps where they legally can do the only company not helping is conservice. Soooo not slandering but maybe they will answer it this way.
I live in Clayton North Carolina (outside of Raleigh). I pay all my own utility bills - have proof for all. Conservice is trying to collect a fraudulent charge for trash each month. I have contacted BBB - heading to Public Utility Commission. Wondering if there are any Class Action Lawsuits around. Im seriously considering hiring an attorney. This company should not be in business and these large rental companies are as much at fault for using them.
I agree. Conservice has been in a class action lawsuit. Ben Carney is the lawyer that was over it. Conservice lost. They need to be sued in every state. No one needs a middle for their utility bill and that includes a landlord. It stops people from receiving Leap help on their bill. It's only once a year but it helps.

I rent a 1-bedroom apartment in Fairfax, VA. Starting August of 2022 ( 6 consecutive months to-date ), I've seen both my sewer and water bill from Conservice Utility more than QUADRUPLED! I have been fighting with both the renter mgmt and Conservice for 6 months and they finally agreed to send a technician over to investigate. He said my unit's water sub-meter was broken and replaced it with a new one. Guess what, after the replacement, my latest monthly bill now climbs WAY past the quadrupled marks for both sewer and water charges! I'm all for a class-action lawsuit against Conservice. It certainly looks like it truly provides "Cons" services!

My bill was being estimated for 9 months because new digital meters were installed and wasn't reading until 9 months later when I got this huge bill. I complained to them and they said it was underestimated each month, but I combined to my apartment complex managers that it was still too high, eventhough Conservice said it was reading correctly. One of the apartment managers asked if I wanted my meter checked. When a maintenance guy came and checked the meter, he confirmed that the meter was reading and charging me 5 gallons for every gallon I used! I finally got my meter replaced a week ago and it was checked on the spot. Conservice argued that it was reading correctly until it was checked, and when I emailed the Conservice agent back and told her she was wrong and failed miserably at her job by arguing with me and that it would be too much to expect an apology, I never heard back. They are flat out crooks! And they would've been more than happy to keep the extra money had I not made such a big deal about it. They just tried telling my apartment manager the meter was reading correctly for November, when it wasn't until November 22 that it was discovered the meter was incorrectly reading 5 gallons for every 1 gallon used! WTF!? Class action lawsuit please!
The same exact thing happened to me. Then in addition to that my bill during the ice storm of December my usage shot up almost 10x for a period of 3 days and my bill was $350 for the month of December 2023.
They are saying its the home owners fault and I have contact the provider to see what the issue is.

I live in student roommate apartments and my utility bill is always less than $50 plus I am supposed to get a cap off of my bill as allowance which is $20. I’ve been paying this for over a year now then all of a sudden I get a charge of $116 in utility bill plus a $58 utility charge with no cap of $20 off? How the F&;$ is this logical? When overviewing my meter usage you can literally see a huge spike out of nowhere on my account. This is obvious that something happened with the meter. Mind you I’m not the only one in the apartment who has experienced this spike. Others in my student complex has a huge charge as well. I’ve talked with management and with Conservice about this and they both are sending me back and forth. All I’m asking is for this charge to be removed IMMEDIATELY! AS IT IS NOT ACCURATE! What is the issue? Fraud management and a scammer utility bill company working together I mean what a perfect duo. Im a college student who has other issues to worry about other than getting ripped off from a team of con artists who think they are about to get over on me.

Beware! This whole company is a joke. They bill customers after reading broken meters and refuse to adjust your bills. Their customer service can barely speak a lick of English and are often VERY rude. They sound like they are reading from "Answer Cards" when you call them to confront them about it. They personally install their OWN meters and then claim they're not responsible for them when problems arise. They give bogus and fraudulent % rates to confuse you of why your bill is so high. I can go on and on about this company.
Bottom line, They sucker Apartment complexes into using them and scam them for as long as they can.
Someone really needs to file suit against this company and put them out of business!

another months bill way over local pricing, some how sewernow costs 40$ a months but water usage was 22, 80% of the elctrontics in the apt are now shut off completely, no ac, no heat, nothing running 247 but the fridge and water heater. they installed some box that remotely controlls access to service hence the disconnected ac since it doesnt work now anyway. the company took almost months to send a bill for august. gas charges dispite no gas appliances or systems? they are just making up numbers, and the local energy people have very different accountings of what these thing should cost. make sure if you are paying via you rental office you designate payment purpose they will try to give conservice moneys they arent due and claim late rent to attempt to threaten compliance via eviction for non payment, and or assess fees that are both redundant and unfounded based on due date printed on the company materials, sent 45 days late. the companies that use them also have some clearly shifty things going on, our apartment ownership is currently under investigation by multiple parties in multiple staes, but seems to avoid prosecution by deleting information from system like entrata and hoping states.
I agree whole heartily Con Service is a major rip off and needs to be investigated properly by each state.My utility bill through them is just as expensive as someone living in a home, my apartment has over 300 units and are charging an arm and a leg for utilities.I have never had to pay for utilities in an apartment in my life.
I just got an Eviction letter cause of this damn stupid scam company utility bill. That's ok, I am going to live back with my parents if I become homeless. I am tired of the Mayfair Apartment complex hired this company which this area has become a hell hole. They are making me use more electric kitchen items, not take too many showers. I smell bad than I did before we had this greedy company billing us. If the gas prices go up any higher we will be seeing alot of people homeless cause of this corrupted company.

Tell your complex to call NES at [protected].
I had the saaaame problem and then I took it upon myself to do some googling and found this company. I requested a brochure and sent it directly over to my leasing office as a 'suggestion'. They actually looked into it which was amazing. They must of had lower service fees because they made the switch :)
Stand up and say something, or better yet - suggest something. NES had explained to me (very personal staff) that one person only uses 3500 gallons in a 30 day period. That's about $20.00 depending on your city's rates which are illegal not to charge. They explain it all, they can help you out because honestly, I have gotten a billion refunds when I was ethically due them. Even late fees, they are very nice. They also said they have lifetime warranties on all of their equipment so when a meter breaks, they actually replace it and don't bill you or your complex.
Just a thought :)
