My Gas bills were to be handled through NICOR. I am current on all my NICOR payments but Spark Energy calls several times a week to tell me I'm behind on my payments. I explained that all my payments are current with NICOR so their beef is with NICOR and told them to stop calling me. Once my contract with Spark is over I will never go back with them.

If possible, I would leave them zero stars. I was a customer for years, and under their "competitive variable rate", I paid 50% - 200% more than other gas companies. (costing me thousands of dollars). (My final November '19 billing rate from Spark Energy was 1.42 per therm.. The market rate was .28 per therm...)... Unable to get a refund, I'm warning others to stay away from this gas supplier! Visit my facebook page "quit spark energy" to hear my story. Similar to other complaints about Spark Energy, I've had a very poor customer service experience with them. My particular issue was about a balance on my account that Spark maintained was unpaid. After confirming with my utility that the balance had been paid, Spark refused to acknowledge the payment and threatened to report my account to credit bureaus for non-payment. Customer service reps had no empathy or understanding of the situation and I spent hours trying to deal with the issue being passed around their customer service desk. I imagine others would have similar experiences. Please avoid this company, if you can.

Robocaller information: I'm getting calls every day at the same time. Caller ID: Recon Logistics. Music plays and then hangs up when you speak. When you call the number back it directs you to Spark Energy 877 number - an energy provider that does NOT provide service in my state. While the customer service representative was very pleasant and looked up my number (not in their database) she said she couldn't help me further without my name, which I was unwilling to give. When told their company does not service my state, so I was unsure of why I was getting a call, she informed me that they have companies that do, and suggested I call Verde Energy 800 number - one of their companies. This is also an energy company that also does NOT provide service in my state.
