Tim Hortons Bad all over

I am not exaggerating when I say the majority of my orders come out wrong.

Consistently I stand waiting in a line of three when a dozen timmy's employees are behind the counter bumping into each other, lost and ignoring me.

They jack up the price of the food, reducing portions and expecting us to not notice, relying on the fact that people will still endorse them because they are somehow "canada's beloved chain"

These are not isolated incidents, but systemic failures and swindlings designed to maximize profits with little care for those who provide those profits.

This has to end. Complacent canadians need to go elsewhere for coffee: mcdonalds, starbucks... Anywhere but "timmy's". Lets teach them a lesson now!

Completely agree. Since it was sold to Wendy's corperation, the Canadian portions have been reduced almost as many times as the prices have been raised! Also, nothing is made fresh on site now. They re-heat frozen donuts, dough balls, muffins, etc. Disgusting rip off.

I think you may enjoy this little story of my most recent expierence at Tim Hortons...

I along with several friends went to tims after the GSP (UFC 124) fight Saturday. I placed our orders, swiped my card into the POS machine and did my thing before giving the system back to the employee. As she is standing there in her own little world the machine is beeping like CRAZY, getting a little annoyed, I tell her that she needs to press the 'Ok' as that is what the system is prompting her to do. STILL nothing, so I point to the OK button on the POS system and say you need to press the button! No sooner do I this the Lady working the drive through comes swooping in and goes nuts saying that she'll have me charged for tampering with their equipement and how dare I touch their machine (she also mentioned biting my finger off.)

I can assure you that I will NEVER go to Tim Hortons ever again, I have never been more embarassed or outraged in my life.

Tim Hortons Hideous service

Tim Horton a Canadian symbol? It's a joke, at least in this franchise: (2141 boulevard Lapiniere Brossard, QC J4W 1L7)

Lowest quality service and most disgusting management I've ever experienced! It is shocking to learn that Canadians love this brand!

No one speaks English there, when I tried speaking French to explain my nut allergy problem, all were extremely impatient and the supervisor (an Arabian boy) would not listen at all and snubbed my complaint multiple times after I told him how bad the workers' attitude is.

When I asked a female worker (she said I was stupid) to apologize, she shouted at me and and said her father is the owner.

When I insisted that they apologize, the supervisor threatened that he would call 911. I sat there waiting for 20 minutes and turned out he did not call. First time being threatened by a customer service personnel...

At Tim Horton, the food is not bad, but I'll NEVER go there again because of extremely poor quality of service.

I imagine the OP was making a scene and acting like a fool and that's why they threatened to phone the police. If you were called names you don't stand there and ask for an apology. Instead you forget about ordering, leave and file a complaint...who cares if the worker apologizes, she wouldn't have meant, it you were probably acting stupid. And btw, it's spelled hideous, genius

It WAS Canadian, and Canadaians DID love it.. It's been collecting piles of ### since wendy's bought it out... Most Canadians don't notice the slow increases in price and shrinking of serving. Everything about Tim Hortons just SUCKS SWEATY SACK now

Tim Hortons Breakfast sandwich and coffee

I was not feeling well this morning, so as nice treat, my husband brought me home a sausage and egg on a biscuit and an XL decaf coffee (I'm allergic to caffeine). His thoughtfulness was soon overshadowed. I had to add coffee to my coffee and at first look, I thought they had mistakenly put 2 sausage patties on my sandwich. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that, no, it was not a second meat patty, but an egg that was so over-cooked it had the same texture and deep brown colouring. So I had to cook my own egg or do without.
I was always glad to have a Canadian company to get my breakfast and coffee at, but I am so sick of managers letting this kind of CRAP go out their door repeatedly...I'm going to MacDonald's for breakfast and Starbuck's for coffee.
Too bad on you, Tim's, My husband drops an easy $50 a week there. Not anymore.

Ive been loyal to Tim's for as long as they've been selling coffee but now it's just a bad habit . From coast to coast the service and consistency of product has slid to all new lows. Just today I got my third Chicken Rottini that was little more than a container of over cooked mush and no bun. My daughter was asked if she would like her steeped tea topped off with coffee as they didn't have a full cup of tea. I could go on and on but why bother.

Thank you for contributing that literary treasure 'TheLoveFist". I hope you're paid to spread the [censored] you do on this forum because it would sure be a sad waste of your time (based on your comments) if you're unpaid. Calling me pinko, does that mean white? I'm confused.. How about we stop letting people immigrate into Canada? Social support systems are strained enough, and there is an obvious lack of employment. Get out.

Tim Hortons is NOT Canadian. It was sold to Wendy's many years ago! Soon after the sale; they started reheating frozen donuts, muffins, timbits, bagels and other pastries that are made in America and shipped up here. Not only are the baked goods extremely inferior, they are also LITERALLY about half the size as before. The drink sizes are disturbing now. The Tim Horton's original small is now the LARGE... seriously, it has changed that much. Service is worse because most employees make minimum wage yet they have raised the price of every menu item numerous times. Distrubing, capitalists.

Did you complain to them? If you don't first give them a chance to correct the problem, then you aren't really helping anything.

Frankly, our local McDonald's puts out the worst breakfast fare in town. And (our) McDonald's coffee pretty much sucks - I'd dump it down the toilet before I'd drink it, but a franchise in Niagara Falls, and a couple we've tried in the US had decently fresh coffee.

And, you should remember that each franchise location (unless they are under the same ownership) will be different. We have about a dozen in our town (Tim's), and out of that dozen, three are top-notch and we've never had a complaint with their service, their cleanliness or their food. There are at least 3 we won't set foot in any longer because nothing ever appears to be clean...and the bathrooms are horrendous. We have complained, things change for a couple of weeks, then revert. One place we had repeatedly complained about them getting the orders wrong, but that didn't result in any change either. So now, we only go to the ones we know are good.

We can find similar things with the KFCs and the A&Ws locally. It's a matter of ownership. And you should complain to the Head OFfice/Franchise area. They should know when franchise owners aren't taking care of things, because it isn't just the franchisee's reputation on the line, it's the Tim Horton's name.

Tim Hortons Digging for gold

Think of the most disgusting thing imaginable. If that sort of thing bothers you, skip this post..

This happened this morning at the Tims at Kennedy and Derry. I walked in like most mornings, and today there was nobody in line. Just the two employees chatting at their respective cash registers. The one on the left (trying to be discrete) had half her index finger jammed up her nose.

Sorry folks but that's not the gross part. Just my luck she asks "Can I help you". I reluctantly ordered my coffee from her. I'm getting the chills as I watch her make the coffee, handling the spoon and lid both with the same hand she was cleaning house with.

She takes my money and hands over the coffee, and I nearly threw it on the floor when I felt something stuck onto the side of the cup. I grabbed a napkin and wiped it off in absolute disgust.. This has completely grossed me out and I will never ever go back to that store.

I wish I were more confrontational because I should have absolutely let her have it, and made sure that everyone else in the store who walked in after me knew about it.

I think you should have told her that you want her to wash her hands before she does anything. You, as a customer have the right to tell them what you want. If they touch (or pick) their nose, touch the garbage or anything that leads to cross contamination, which can make you, the customer, sick. You should have either went to the other employee or just walked out because what she did is unacceptable.

Tim Horton's doesn't guarantee an allergen free environment. Many of their products will routinely come in contact with things that people are allergic too.

If you were that worried about your allergy to mustard, you wouldn't have taken such a risk in eating a sandwich that you didn't make yourself. It can't be that bad of an allergy if it took you more than one bite to realize what happened.

Tim Hortons - Unfair labour practices

My mother worked as the manager in our family business since she was young. When it was sold, the only places that would call her back despite her decades of experience were fast food restaurants. She went to work as a baker at Tim Horton's. She was paid minimum wage to wake up at 3 AM and reheat frozen balls of dough. Her hours were capped due to "low...

Tim Hortons Roll up the rim

I would like to complain about the roll up the rim to win contest. It is believed by myself and many family and friends that the cups have been rolled up already. We have been participating in this annual contest for years and it does not take a brain to know that many many of the cups have already been rolled up and checked then rolled back down to look like they have not been checked. I travel through the windsor chatham area and my boyfriend travel to the london area almost daily and it is not one paticular store that we find this happening at it seems to be widespread. It is a topic at work often because many co workers also believe this to be true. When you can roll up the rim with one finger no problem it has been checked already. I have won many times in the past years and this year I have won one coffee and my boyfriend has not one once. We buy coffee several times a day each as I said we are on the road for hours daily and there is something fishy going on.

I buy at least 6 cups of coffee at the same time and never ever got a winning cup, and the rim has already been rolled as it was easy to turn it up. I turned the cup around and had a hard time to roll the rim up so I know it had already been rolled up. Plus I stood in line and watched the staff rolling the rims and was told that the cups was a bad batch. If they where a bad batch they should of been put in managers office to be sent back.

I have emailed them several times over the years about this, and the only response I get is a form letter about the dispensers causing it. Funny thing is it only happens to the roll up they rim cups, are the regular cups made differently? Ummm nope they are all made the same, so I asked "so why doesn't this happen to the regular cups that are not roll up the rim"?. I got no answer back, go figure lol.

I noticed this myself in Scarborough, Ontario at Birchmount and Ellesmere Tim's a couple of weeks ago.

When I went to roll up the rim it was not as obviously deformed as the one depicted so I did not see the flaw immediately.
As I was about to place my thumb underneath the lip I noticed a neat, short incision in it from the bottom edge to just about the crest of the lip. It was placed right along the seam. Now before a Tim's employee dismisses this as a manufacturing error or "catching on the dispenser", let me reiterate that it was cut from the underside of the lip. Further, the cut did not extend into the inside of the cup (it was ONLY the lip). Lastly, if you have ever held one of these cups, you will realize the seam is in fact a point of overlap and has more integrity than the rest of the cup. As such, it takes some force to unroll it if untampered. This one obviously unrolled effortlessly.

I was immediately suspicious. At a glance it had looked fine. Was I just being paranoid?

To test the theory I attempted to roll it back to a factory-looking state. Sure enough, it rolled neatly back into place. At that point I was certain it had been expertly pre-checked. I mentally retched thinking of the "poo hands" thing that a couple of other people have pointed out.

As soon as I got home I wrote to Tim's Canada to complain...if you have a similar experience, you should do the same. Include as much detail as possible. Try to keep your complaint focused. Please do not make this about getting yourself free things.

Your voices matter!

Pre rolled rim - Amherst NY - Don't even bother having this contest if you are going to give me a pre rolled cup that some employee had their dirty, grimy hands all over trying to win their buddy a free donut. I have to drink out of that cup. This is a health code violation if anything. I would never listen to a Tim Hortons employee on here regarding this subject especially if they are getting all defensive. That's the employee with his/her germ infested poo hands all over my cup. I ask for a regular cup from now on. Thanks alot Mr/Mrs poo hands!

Tim Hortons Don't need our business

This is ###ed, and most adults with any sence will find it just as stupid

It all started at a set of lights when an SUV went flying past us and sprayed rocks at us, we caught up to the SUV for a couple of minutes just to let them know that...Hey slow the heck down.

As it turns out the SUV turned at the same corner we did on our way to get our daily coffee after work. We were about half a block behind the SUV by now. It turned ahead of us into the boston pizza, and we carried on to the Tim Hortons. We went to the drive through ordered coffee, and while waiting the SUV came tearing into the parking lot, into the managers spot, and a man got out and proceeded to call my husband a punk and asked him if he wanted his A** where his face is.
My husband then asked who then heck he was and the guy then said "Im the owner and we don't need your business so F**k Off". The man refused to tell us his name. We carried on to the window and when at the window we told the young girl there that she could just keep the coffee because we were told that they didn't need our business. When she asked by who we told her it was by the guy in the SUV, we asked her if this was her boss. She confirmed it was her boss and her too wouldn't tell us what his name was.

So not only was my husband threatened with violence from the franchise owner and swore at, but my children were in the vehicle and got to wittness it all.

I've since phoned the regional office to file an official complaint

Tim Hortons Rudeness

I have never been treated so badly, I went in the store to buy gift cards-large can of coffee, I had coupon for a free donut with the purchase of a medium coffee. The 3 people that were there just became ungluded, that the coupon was not for there store, but they didn't know where only said down the street.Warren Mi is a big City.Well I have been a patron of Tim Horton's for a very long time, but if this is the people you hire I will no longer be a customer. Not everyone that works at Tim Hortons can list off every single Tim Hortons store in the city.
Tim Hortons stores are owned by separate owners. So owners won't accept a coupon from another owners store.

Tim Hortons Bad service

Ordered a breakfast sandwich and was 1 or 2 minutes past 11 am... Hoque, cashier sold it to me even if I was off ime a little bit (at that time I had no idea what time it was and if Hoque had told me it was too late, I would have ordered something else.) Then I got to the counter to be yelled at by the little lady behind it, that it was over to go back to the line and get something else. I replied back to her that I had paid for it already, that their communication issue was not my problem (at that time I looked at my watch, it was 11:04... But before then I had NO idea whatsoever that it was a minute later than 11 when I was at the cash) She yelled back at me, all agitated, that she had told Hoque that breakfast was over and that was it. She was not making it for me.

Than I thought, why the hell am I going through this after waiting 20 minutes in line. I was asked if I wanted something else, and I said that I wanted my money back and left.

I will NEVER go and/or recommend to go to that location. I am not even that big of a fan of Tim Horton's any ways.

I was treated so disrespectful today by a Tim Horton's Manager at the lougheed hwy gas station timmys in Burnaby B.C. I usually go there every morning yesterday i ordered on of their new breakfast sandwich a got a bagel i was at work when i noticed it so i went there this morning i told the staff what had happened she said she would get the manager the lady would not even look at me or speak directly to me when i asked her name she directed the staff to tell me only her first name and she would not replace the sandwich even though her staff said that they saw the sandwich on their counter that morning. I think that they should give me what i paid for or pay me the difference between a bagel and a breakfast SANDWICH.

As a Tim Horton's employee, that is definitely the best thing to do. I hope that that employee that yelled at the customer either got a good lecture, written up, or even fired. The customer yes, should have been able to order another item on the menu that wasn't breakfast.

The tim hortans manager at the Tim Hortans in the Esso gas station at Kennedy and lawrence, is very mean. He is not patient and doesnt know how to talk to custormers. While I was jsut looking for my change (not even a minute of his time ) he told me to hurry up. He has said this to alot of people. He also made my friend clean up someelse's mess and now she doesnt even go o Tim Hortans and she used to go everyday!. He is not good with customers, and if you are going to serve customers you should be patient and nice and not rude.

We dump the breakfast stuff as soon as OUR clock hits 11. I'm only saying this cause some people like to argue that on their clock it's still 1 minute to 11. The cashier should have just voided the breakfast and gotten you what you wanted, though. There was certainly no need for the yelling.

I have a complaint against the tim hortons on Indian rd. My husband and I go through the drive thru at least 3 times every day for the same order. I order 1 extra large tea 3 milk 3 suger 1 bag in and a extra large coffee with 2 milk. The tea is always right and the coffe a lways has suger in it. I told the manager and she said "oh well it was one of the other girls". I have a physical disability that makes it difficult to walk, that's why I use the drive thru. I noticed the problem increased when I complained about the inappropriate behavier of one of the girls toward my husband. And his order is always correct. When he goes through the drive thru they tell him his order, so if they know the order how do they always get it wrong? Just wondering what kind of standards Tim hortons really does have. I feel it is harassment towards me because the girl has an inappropriate crush on my husband. I wonder if anyone actually checks up on these stores to make sure they do follow some sort of guidelines. Yours truly Michelle

I work for Tim hortons, and We are required to take the item, bag it, and send it to corporate. It's store policy. Otherwise, we can't do anything for you.

They probably wanted to see the cup in order to figure out what had happened.

As for the OP, what was the foreign object?

I too found something in my coffee, it wasn't until I had got to the bottom half that i realized there was something in it. When I took the cup back to show them they immediatly wanted the cup back from me. I refused to give it to them the very next morning I contacted the owner, she too wanted me to bring the cup to her and I wouldn't. The sad thing is, was we heard something when we were waiting for our coffees and didn't put 2 and 2 together until after. We heard one of the girls say "what did you do to that cup"
So they knew something had happened and didn't bother fixing the problem.

Tim Hortons Customers swearing at employers

I am an employee who's been working for Tim Hortons for the past year and I am a teenager who goes to school still. And i feel that lately customers have been getting impatient and have been swearing at me and throwing money at me. As an aboriginal youth i feel that, that is an issue to 1-5% of the customers. Although it does get busy now and then i dont feel people have the right to throw money or swear at anybody race or age. !Please Stop!
I should make a public Complaint to the franchise b/c this has been going on for over a month

You customers expect us to basically wipe your ###! You people are obnoxious and treat restaurant employees in general like dirt!

The problem is, is that we cater way too much! to society!
I even think customers should have to pay (like you do at a laundromat) to use the washroom.

Also, I'm dead set against drive thrus.

Are people too lazy to walk into the restaurant?

Another opinion of mine is that people are obsessed with the health kick (known to me as the ### kick!).
I work in a restaurant. Therefore, I know what I am talking about.

Most people nowadays, are stupid, impatient and ###ing rude!

Unfortunately that makes the good people look bad!

I feel bad for you people that work there, but if there was quicker service, if you would have people making the coffee for you when you take orders, and smile abit with the customers maybe we wouldn't lose our patience. In the early morning there should be more people working to help get the line going faster for those of us that have to go to work. I went in the other morning and there was not one person waiting to get served and it still took me about 10 minutes to get two coffee, and the person waiting for me counted about ten cars thats would have gone through the drive-through after we would have gone, now tell me that is not a reason to get upset

Tim Hortons - Swap card

My wife got me one of the swap cards that Tim Horton's are advertising. The card you never need to carry money if you have the card. The wife put $40.00 on the card, and on the way to work I stopped off at the Central Ave shop to get a coffee. I was waiting for about 4 minutes, when the server asked for the money, I told her I had $40.00 on the card, she...

Tim Hortons - Not happy with my last visit

As i'm a regular customer at tim hortons everyday. I'm not happy with my last visit at the store on malden road in lasalle.
