Beautyrest mattress
Like many other complainants, I bought a Simmons Beautyrest firm king size mattress that started to sag and cause lower back pain within a year or so of purchase. After two years, I finally decided to replace the mattress.
Unfortunately, I don't have the original paperwork, but if I did, I'd be filing an FTC complaint.
What a piece of overpriced garbage!

Defective mattress
We paid $2, 500 for what we thought was a premium, top of the line mattress and box spring only to find out that it's totally defective and that Simmons does not stand behind their products.

Hello, We purchased a beautyrest black for $4500 and have since removed it from the bed in favor of an inexpensive Amazon bed in a box which is much better. Is it possible to get a refund for this mattress? What is the process? Admittedly I have not done any research on this yet. This complaint board is the first stop I am making while working so I don't have a lot of time but wanted to get this in the "system".
I own a brand new beauty rest black and it is sagging on both sides after 1 month. I was told it is defective and that they have never seen anything like it. Do not purchase this mattress.
I purchased a beautyrest Black, Vivianne on 11/8/2018 for 2399. and it sagged within a year
I called Macy and they took over 2 months to send someone out, and they said there were two significant sags and definitely defective but due to a stain that the warranty was voided
I spoke to Macy's and they were definitely not helpful, I filed a Beautyrest complaint online two months ago and they did not even respond.
I feel that this stain is a ploy by Simmons to get out of covering a defective mattress.
My expectations were that a top quality mattress should last ten years. I am very disappointed in the way that Simmons brushes you off and they way that they do not warranty a defective mattress.

I am beyond upset with the new Simmons Black queen size mattress that my husband and I bought at Macy's less than two months ago. We paid almost $3, 000 for it and it is sagging so bad along the edge that I am literally rolling out of bed at night. My last mattress was also a Simmons, it was a Beautyrest and it held up for close to ten years, it didn't even begin to sag until we were in the 9th year. At this point, I am not sure what to do, I am praying that Simmons stands behind their warranties because I literally can't AFFORD to spend this much money on something that is completely breaking down after two months, it makes me so sad . Just beware that if you're thinking about buying a Simmons Black, DON'T, they're complete garbage!
I also own a Simmons Black Helena since 2 years. My wife and I aren't able to sleep on the mattress without having a serious backache.
I'm very angry to have paid 2500$ for such a bad mattress. I wander if it is possible to remove the scrapped pillow top and then keep an underneath ordinary mattress. I will post another message whenever I decide to proceed. Anyway the mattress is unusable!
Have you had a chance to remove the existing foam and put another foam topper? It’s an excellent idea. After we’ve had such problems with our Simmons beauty rest, the mattress we bought at the cabin is the Simmons simple firm mattress that we put $100 top on and we love it.
I agree, worst mattress ever. We had a rep come out after 2 1/2 years and the mattres was ruled not deffective by 3/8 of an inch. We will not buy another simmons nor go back to Jordan's furniture in NH. They hid behind then manufacturer.
I have the misfortune of owning a Simons Beautyrest Black, a $2500 mattress set, which is only two years old and sags already. When you are not on the mattress, it pops up a bit (only 1" sag without weight on the mattress); and, according to Simmons, that is fine "as is." A mattress is not a piece of art. What it does, or looks like, when not in use means nothing. When it sags when you are on the mattress, it isn't doing the job it was purchased for. Simmons actually tried to get out of the mattress warranty by citing a minor soft drink stain on the box springs! What a bunch of crooks.
customer is not accepting reality with regard to a foam product
REplumping is not a requirement of mattresses. All mattress products will get an indendation of comfort signature where you sleep, just like your shoes or any other foam product. I think the customer had unrealistic expectations here.
Blondie1954fl,
Most mattress retailers hire an inspector to come out and check for severe sagging and if it's not @ 1.5 inches then it's technically "not defective" yet...
Since the retailers have to pay for the inspection... not the MFG, they normally have you wait for a duration of time before they pay for another inspection. Not sure if it's the same at other retailers, but that's now it is @ ours.
I'm actually surprised that Simmons is having such a bad rep online! We have great succes with the beautyrest line.
I suggest you get the Customer Service # for the retailer you purchased from. They might be more helpful than the store you bought from.
Defective/poor-quality mattress causes back pain
I purchased a king-sized Simmons Beautyrest mattress set from Easy Life Furniture in 2004. I paid about $1800 for the set and recommended bed frame. This is a lot of money for me, but I was pregnant with my second child and really wanted to have a comfortable bed so that I could get plenty of rest, so I went ahead and invested in it. It was super comfortable but I noticed that it was causing a lot of lower back pain. I had to start seeing a chiropractor and it turns out the the mattress just started breaking down very quickly. It has virtually no support anymore.
Recently I moved and was living in some temporary housing for a few months. I decided to store my bed and use the queen-sized bed I had in our guest room. I didn't really think much about it, but I no longer had back pain in my lower back. However, I did think about it 2 weeks ago, when I finally got settled into my new place, with my Simmons Beautyrest mattress back in my room and out of storage.
Wow! My back pain was back and worse than ever after a few nights back in my bed! I had to go see the chiropractor repeatedly and couldn't move without severe pain. Now I continue to see my chiropractor and I am managing the pain, but it has not gone away. I feel it every morning when I awake. What a bummer! I can not afford a new mattress and have since gotten rid of the queen bed because I downsized to a small apartment and only needed one bed. I wish I kept the other one!
This mattress is just poor-quality and has gotten soft and mushy. I would have tried to replace it but it also has a couple of stains and I remember the mattress store salesperson stating that the warranty would be void if the mattress became stained in any way.
I would be interested in joining a class-action lawsuit if one gets set in motion. Please feel free to contact me for this purpose.

From the research we have done, the company is well aware of the problem but refuses to address it. They have a test "If an unoccupied mattress has an indentation of more than 1 1/2 inches, then the mattress is considered defective and will be replaced. In reality, the problem does not occur when the mattress is unoccupied. The problem is lack of support caused by defective memory foam. We have owned ours for just over one year. My wife and I have a combined weight of less than 300 lbs. We had Carson's inspect it. They said it only is indented 3/4 inch, so claim denied. They told us to try back in six months. If it goes to 1 1/2 inches, then the mattress will be replaced. This tells you they know the unit is defective and will only worsen over time. But what they are hoping is that you will not be able to endure the back pain for any additional time and you will purchase something else As a precaution before you have an inspector out make sure the mattress is mounted on a proper bedframe or platform, perfectly secured and all surfaces level. Be fully aware, the real purpose of the inspection is to find a reason to deny your claim. They are looking for any excuse whatsoever to get out of replacing the mattress. If they find one, your chance of ever getting a replacement is nill.
Be also cautious of another fact. The memory foam problem is not only found in the Simmons brand. So purchasing a Sealy or Serta and anyone else's may not solve your problem. The best alternative is to buy something with a lesser amount of memory foam meaning stay away from pillowtops. Also, since these mattresses seem to have a short lifespan, purchase the most inexpensive unit you can find which will satisfy your needs.
Hey scubasuz, your story fits the description of mine quite well. In January of 2007 I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Alliance, CalKing from Macy's. I think it also came from the clearance center. This was the SECOND Beautyrest I'd owned. The prior one I purchased in 2000. That one was so defective that Simmons sent a mattress inspector to my house, reviewed the gaping divots in the mattress and offered me a replacement model. I should have known not to purchase another one but I was told by Macy's and others that they had overhauled how they produce the matresses and had moved on from the days of the double-sided flippable mattress. Apparently this one is no better. Where I sleep there's an indent. Where my wife sleeps there is an indent. I am a normal height/weight so there's no reason this mattress would be seeing huge indents and a lump in the middle after 4 years of usage. Am interested to know if you've pursued anything further with the company.
I bought the Simmins Beautyrest Pillow top on 2-2-2011 at $1500.00 which I haad saved for a year to be able to buy it without having a credit card bill. We have slept on it for a total of 16 days. Like all of the others we both have much back pain. It already has slump spots in it.
When they delivered the set I needed a step stool to get in bed. it was so high. After much complaining they decided to even change the frame & Box Springs (King size). I'm 81 & my husband is 88 yrs. we certinally don't need these problems. We are certinally not satisified with the bed and cannot afford to buy another one.
I'm waiting for JC Penny's to send out a rep. to check the mattress.
What was the position of the mattress when in storage? Vertically standing or Horizontally laid down?
I've had my Simmons Connoisseur Alexander Glen Pl for less than a week and can't sleep on it already. When my husband and I lay on it there is a hump in the middle of the bed for the entire length of our bodies. This causes us to sleep on a slope. For the entire night it feels that we are falling off the bed. My legs and back hurt trying to hold my body steady. I can't even sleep next to my own husband anymore! The hump/mound is in the way. I've submitted a warranty claim to Simmons. I'll update this posting when I get a response.
The less critical problem is the height of the mattress and box spring. I did not have to jump to get on the bed in the store when I bought it at Pilgrim Furniture City. I'm heading to the store tomorrow to complain about the sneaky sales tactics that omit this important information.
Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop mattress I agree when will the lawyers wake up to sue the MFG.
Simmons wake up before it is to late.
I am on my second Simmons Pillow top. I originally had a Sealy mattress. That mattress went bad in a couple years. Even though there was still warranty on the mattress; I did not purchase the proper frame for it so my claim was denied. I continues to sleep on this mattress until the back and neck pain sent me to the Dr. thinking I really tweaked my neck. I finally broke down and bought a Simmons mattress after the sales person talked me into it. I purchased it in the beginning of 2008. By the end of the year; this mattress was sloping to the sides and causing me neck and back pain. Learning my lesson form the previous mattress fiasco; I was sure to purchase the mated frames and the special mattress cover. In feb. of 2009 my neck & back pain got so bad; I finally filed a claim with Simmons. they sent an inspector out and did replace my mattress. Mind you I attempted and begged them to replace it with a regular old mattress that I can flip, or allow me to pay more to upgrade to a better mattress. Long story short; I was told that I HAD to get the same mattress. I accepted their offer under duress. Eight months later I am suffering neck and back pain again. I feel like I am sliding off the bed and struggle all night long to keep in balance. Fortunately Simmons is sending another inspector to look at this mattress. It is a terrible product. I will not accept a like exchange again this time.
I recently bought a Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop mattress as well. I was having back pain every day with my old Simmons mattress and BAGGED the seller to please find me a mattress that would not hurt my back. I had a Plush Sealy that was awesome and I wanted to buy the same. But this seller kept on trying to sell me this Simmons model. Bummer! It's being 1 week I bought it for 2400 dolares and I feel so much pain! I had to sleep on the floow last night. Now I can't return it to Sleep Train. I am still trying to see if I can return it, maybe loose some money, but get the Sealy I wanted before. Advise: Don't listen to the sellers.
I also purchased a Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop mattress. Mine was a queen size Alliance purchased from the Macy's clearance center in Los Angeles for a sale price of $700. I guess the up side is that I didn't pay as much as I could have. The down side is that I am having my very first daily back pain episodes and it's only the first few hours of the day, after I rise form my Simmons mattress. I purchased my mattress in April 2007 and the intensity of the back pain has doubled from last year to this year. This mattress didn't even last 3 years. I sleep alone and weigh 135 so I'd hate to hear how these mattresses are wearing for couples.
Times are tough right now and I don't have even another $500 to replace this mattress. Very angry with Simmons product and would strongly advise others to think twice before buying one. The pillowtop breaks down very quickly until you have no support and a nagging back. My prior bed lasted me over 10 years and was fabulous. It was a Serta but can't remember anything more.
King size sagging, no support, and hurting my back
Bought a king size Simmons World class top of the line. I have had it less than a year and my back hurts in the morning. My husband is about 245 pounds. When I purchased this mattress I was assured that it would support him and me without any problems. It is sagging in the center - I was told this would not happen either. I would like to have it replaced...

I bought the floor sample bed set, regularly $1699.00, on sale for $1018.25.
You must agree this is a fairly high price for a bed set... At least high enough to expect good quality for... Let's say... 1 year.
Within the first week of sleeping on the bed I was on the phone with the better sleep store. I told them the bed sagged in the middle so much that when I made the bed and put the bedspread on you could see the droop. Surely the mattress should bounce back up and look "sharp" after fluffing and pulling the sheets and bedspread tight... At least for... Let's say... 1 week.
No, she says, it is supposed to mold to your body's shape, and in nc beds are "no return".
That may be, but my bed looks like it is 25 years old after I have fluffed and pulled everything tight... And it is 1 week old.
I called several more times, complaining, requesting something be done. They listened politely but did nothing.
Now I have lived with the damn thing for a year. It has not been something I got used to, adjusted to with time, etc.. I have been disappointed and uncomfortable every night since buying it in march 08. I went to a nice store and bought a very nice bed so that I could own a very nice bed. I have been sorely disappointed since the 3rd day of owning it.
I wonder what this company can say or do to resolve this $1086.98 problem?
For $1000.00, I should be enjoying this thing for at least a year, don't you think?
I enjoyed it one night. The next morning it was squished and old looking.
We have both been sleeping on a slope ever since.
Really really really something should be done by the company in response to this.
Sincerely,
Tracy horton

Broken mattress
Purchased Queen size mattress and foundation on 12/17/08. The bed became saggy and it started popping in different places. Called and they sent a tech out on 2/7/2009. Was told by tech that someone would contact me in 24 hours and it took 4 days and I had to call. They replaced both mattress and foundation on 2/18/2009. Called them back on 3/2/2009 with same problem as before. Tech came out on 3/9/2009 and said some one would call me in 24 hours. I had to call 4 days later only to be told that they would only be able to replace with same mattress. If I have the same problem with my 3rd mattress I will call back and they will send a tech and replace the mattress again. To me there is a manufacturing problem with my mattress. I want a free up grade so I can get a good nights sleep!

Beautyrest mattress-new & sagging
Complaintants Info: Tammy Bauer [protected], address: 3622 Commonwealth Ave., St. Louis, MO 63143
DELIVERED: 1/17/09 - w/o center supports. Regardless of supports, the design of mattress causes it to severely sag causing great harm to spine and neck--everything as advertised and as product is promoted is false. Recall or Class-Action Suite would be wise. If anyone who has same issues, contact the Federal Trade Commision at [protected] and reference complaint # [protected].
My Claim/Complaint:
1. Fraud. Fraudulent claims of how this mattress is to perform, providing “support” and thus “provide an undisturbed and better night’s sleep” and that will “improve my quality of life by getting a restful, comfortable sleep, ” and such mattress does not provide any such support, and sleep is disturbed within one hour of sleep, and it is impossible to get the necessary eight hours of undisturbed sleep,
2. Sleep deprivation, dizziness and damage to my health and well-being,
3. Damage to my spine and neck has occurred and continue to pop out of place, inflame, and cause a great deal of continuous pain from such sagging in short-term use and ever since delivery. (Manager told me I should roll to the other side and avoid the middle)
4. Value City’s failure to provide the center supports at delivery and installation (as seen on receipt) and comply with Simmons requirements for warranty, with Value City manager, Kelly Straight, claiming that I don’t need the center supports, when not doing so makes the warranty by Simmons void (Simmons Warranty division confirmed this verbally), and
5. This product is unusable for its designed purpose and as promoted due to the fact that this mattress sags within one hour of use ( not when just looking at it but when using it), and
the only foreseeable way to rectify this problem is to either refund my money in full, including costs of delivery and install, or to exchange with another manufactures new mattress of equivalency (American Signature is Value City’s brand), and as soon as possible to avoid further harm.
Please let me know if you need any other documentation. Thank you so much for your assistance in resolving this problem.

Beauty rest mattress
I just purchased (1/17/09) a Simmons Beautyrest mattress. From day one I experienced terrible sagging, hard hump in middle and on sides, even though using proper frame according to Simmons customer service and warranty. Sagging only happens when you lie on it (at least so far). Warranty only if sagging while not lying in it. I agree that Simmons ha...
Read full review of Simmons BeddingSleepys charges double for same mattress as 1800mattress but gives it a different name to protect themselves
Bought a mattress over the phone and the mattress I got was firm, not plush. Returned the mattress. And bought a mattress, substantially more expensive. Sleepys charges for boxsprings and won't do price matching once you sign the paperwork and accept the mattress.
The mattresses you buy at 1800MATTRESS... MY SAME MATTRESS w A DIFFERENT NAME (of course) was 1/2 the price... and they include the Boxspring in ALL their sales.
SLEEPYS SHOULD BE ASHAMED of their customer service and business ethics. I work for a international real estate company as do both my parents, and I can't wait to put a warning out to every broker in BOTH companies NOT to use SLEEPYS because of their return policies...or lack of!
The audacity to charge 1300+ boxsprin + delivery ... when 1800MATTRESS includes it all in ONE purchase at the same price. There's an $800 discrepencey.
DAVID ACKER IS AS BIG A THIEF AS MADDOFF, if not more of one!
AND TO BOOT, READ THE BLOGS AND COMPLAINTS ON SLEEPYS BEFORE YOU EVER CONSIDER BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEM. THIEVES!

1800mattress happens to be a company owned by SLEEPY'S...
I sadly have bought a bed from Sleepy's in Wading River, NY. Delivered very damage. I swear it was used. I want to get a better bed, knew nothing of a comfort exchange & they are trying to charge me $399 for a King exg when I downsized to a full & am paying more money. PLUS they want to charge me another $89.99 shipping. All on a bed delivered damaged & 2 hrs after the said time of delivery had ended for the day. These people are rip offs you never get the same salesperson twiwce. They don't tell the truth or they know none. Their exchange CS people are very rude & arrogant. I have had it with these people. I want this garbage bed out of my house & I want a full refund.
I found the exact same bed I wanted for over $1400 less at 1800mattres...Which incs..shipping, box spring. no tax, 100 day try out, If you don't like it you pay the difference if the bed is higher priced & a 1 time charge of $99. Damaged doesn't cost you a dime.
Kelluy, I just got back from Sleepy's. I really liked the Simmons Balthsar, under what name does 1-800mattress sell it?
I had the exact same experience. Thought it was fishy that they pushed for the delivery to be the next morning when i purchases at 9 pm at night. No chance to cancel. Price "matching" campaign is a complete farce. They dont admit that any other mattresses are the same as the one's they sell, so good luck. Really a deplorable company Sleepy's.
The worst customer service and charging unfair fees
I feel it's a moral obligation to warn people or possible future customers about this mattress company, by sharing with the public my recent nightmare experience I had with this company.
But before I go on, it's only fair to point out that I am partly to blame. I should have done my homework first by checking Leeds out on the Better Business Bureau's website. Had I have done that first, I would have learned about the several complaints they currently have registered by many unhappy customers. If I had been aware of this, I would have never done business with Leeds from the start.
But to make a long story short, my mattress that I purchased with Leeds back in August of 08, was found to defective. And after going through months of horrible customer service with Leeds ( constant mis-information given, no call backs, rudeness, ignoring me in the store etc), they actually had the nerve to charge me a 50.00 dollar delivery fee for replacing the defective mattress they sold me in the first place-as if it was my fault. However, I checked with their major competitor, and they stated that they do not charge for delivering on a defective mattress case.
So I'm wondering why would Leeds penalize their customers for something clearly the customers had no control of and clearly it's not the customers fault for receiving a defective mattress. But apparently Leeds doesn't care, because they charged me 50.00 dollars for replacing my defective mattress they sold me. I have tried to talk to Neil the owner, but all i get is the supervisors which informs me that Leeds "sub hires" their drivers, so they have to eat the cost of the delivery, and Leeds just passes that charge onto the customer.
I also had a problem with the different Leeds stores when trying to pick out and upgrade my replacement mattress. One Leeds store wanted to charge me 1399.00 for the upgrade, yet when I went to another Leeds store, they told me that charging me 1399.00 was wrong and I only had to pay 590.00 (including the delivery fee). So their various stores aren't even on the same page.
So after months of dealing with the different Leeds stores and customer service (if you dare to call it that), I find them to be very unorganized and unprofessional and would'nt reccomend doing business with this establishment.

I am Neil Leeds, and I stand by My company. These complaint boards do not help clients tell the whole story, especially when our competitors write what they want when they want.We have every bed on file that needed service and what the reports were and what the factory and leeds were willing to do.We hold a better business rating of A plus.I plan to continue that rating.I am sad to see that people will do anything to put a company out of business for a complaint that has no merit.Thank you Neil Leeds.I am here in my office at [protected] and will take any call from any of my clients.I am here to help and I stake my name on my company, in which many firms do not.I do not hide behind a no name company, I am neil leeds, and We are leeds mattress stores.I think clients who read this should try us out and if you find our service and prices to be a problem please call me so I can help you directly.
Has anyone herd of a law suite against Simmons about there wacky defective descriptions. I have a mattress set we have had troubles sleeping on for months. Just because it doesn't have a inch and half pit in the mattress it's OK with them. There has to be a different way to prove It's a POS. There need to be a middle man that comes to your place to get the facts and he decides if it's not right, (not the company). we have 10 mattress in the past 10 years, All have been pillow tops and none have held more than 2 years. This must be a scam
Sagging middle
Purchased a $3500 "Mystere" model Comfor-Pedic mattress and what a piece of garbage and so is their "customer service" Bed is only two years old and has a sink hole in the middle. The sink hole has damaged my back so badly that it hurts all the time. We have now started sleeping on our old mattress that we had before we bought this piece of crap. "Customer Service" says that we purchased a "as-is", "distressed", or "floor model" this is not true! The bed was made several weeks after our purchase and even has the date stamped on their inventory tag. Don't buy a Simmons product thier warranty is nothing more than words with no meaning.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We also purchased a Metere Comfort Pedic paid $3250.00 plus another $1950.00 for their adjustable base plus another $104.00 for their materess pad. After 2 years it started sagging, by the 4th year it was horrible, I called Saddlers where we purchased it and they sent some guy out that looked at it and took some measurements and said it was normal when used with an adjustable base. After spending $5300.00 for this POS, I purchased a 4" temper foam topper this surmised for another year of Uncomfortable sleep and increased back pain, we bit the bullet and purchased a TempurPedic mattress today it will be delivered tomorrow. At least it comes with a 60 day in home trial and having owned TempurPedic years ago it was 10 yrs before we moved and replaced it with the Simmons because of the salesman's recommendation that the added Latex in the Metere would be cooler and would keep its support. What a mistake if we hadn't moved we probably would still be sleeping on the TempurPedic and have $3000 to spend elsewhere on something other then another mattress. Simmon's is a bad investment and their Warrantee is Worthless!
I totally agree that their customer service is awful... I had a Simmons' expert come to my house to "measure" the sink hole I had in my mattress as well and after 2 years of fighting with them I just decided to throw the mattress away (It was 2 yrs old when the sink hole formed... and we are skinny people!). They said the "hole" was normal wear and tear... that we were not flipping the mattress "every" week... UNREAL! They are terrible!
I've slept on mine since 2006 and it looks brand new. I don't even feel the spot that I sleep in every night. Couldn't have had a more different experience with this mattress or the people I bought it from. There are a lot of angry customers at the manufacterer's if the mattress doesn't hold up but it's the dealer who leaves you in the mud. Don't buy from them again, search new businesses.
I purchased the natural model about two years ago. Despite rotating the mattress monthly the same sink hole has suddenly developed. I can't explain why the sinkhole is in the center of the bed as my wife and I spend most of our time on opposite sides.
Matress has huge lift on on side and box spring sides falling off
I have had this set for less than 10 years and it
is falling apart. I would like to have a technician
come to have a look and see what is happening wiht
it. I paid over $2000.00 for this set and I purchased
it at Brault Martineau at the time.

Defective/sagging mattress
I purchased a Simmons Worldclass Wickliffe Plus mattress on 9/10/2005 from Marshall Field's department store. About 9/2007, I started to experience back and hip pain. I finally tracked the source to my mattress. I contacted Joanne at Simmons who set up an inspection. The inspector said my mattress was sagging 1 1/4" and that he would submit it to the company. I received a letter in March, 2008 stating that there is no structural failure in the mattress or box spring and that the indentation is just the mattress contouring to the shape of my body. Well that "contouring" is killing my back and hip..They say the more thicker and luxurious (expensive) the filling materials, the more susceptible they are to compaction (sagging.) That is ridiculous! I paid good money for a mattress that I can't even sleep on. Simmons should honor its warranty and stand on its integrity. I am outraged and in pain!
If you got your mattress from Marshall Field's who are now macy"s i would call them for service on the mattress if your sag is at 1.5 inches they are the ones that would replace it for you.
Wow- Sucks to be you!
Awful company
Our mattress has deeper than normal body depressions after only 1 year. It has been inspected by Mattress World and declined because we didn't buy the matching box spring. We were told by Mattress World at the time of purchase that our box spring was fine and "Would not void the warranty!". Then when they were called on it, they said their computer showed it was declined due to staining. Simmons does not honor any warranties if there is a stain on the mattress. After a second inspection - done after having it cleaned - they sent another letter declining due to staining because of the water residue left from the cleaning! Again - Simmons won't honor their "Wear" warranty if there is even ONE STAIN! What a TERRIFIC company!

I had the same problem and after doing research I discovered that Mattress World is the middle man and they do everything in their power to get you taken care of as a continued service. They work with the manufacturer for you so that you get taken care of faster and you don't have to go through the long process through the manufacturer. In the end it is the manufacturer that descides whether or not you have a warranty issue. I went through both processes, first, Mattress World and then the manufacturer. After going through the manufacturer I am more than satisfied with the service Mattress World offers and I have and will continued doing business with them.
Disloyal customer service
My husband and I purchased a king mattress set on 9/27/2008 from the Mattress Giant store in Stonecrest (Lithonia). On the day of the purchase, the salespersons Al and Karen rendered us customer satisfaction as far as getting what we wanted and working out a deal that would fit our budget. When we finally decided on what product we wanted, and made the...

I made the mistake of going to one of there outlets, and first of all the sales person told me that it was new product that was considered overruns come to find out what they really sale is warranty returns and factory defects, bottom line junk! There are two locations in south carolina one is in Belton sc and the other is Seneca sc They go by several names 1.Simmons, 2. world of sleep 3. mattress warehouse and there probably are others. The staff is really a bunch of### please don't waste your money you work to hard.

My parents also bought one of these "top of the line" $1600.00 beds with her retirement money thinking it would be the last bed she would have to buy...HA! One year later, the inch and a half dent etc...same story as yours...finally got it replaced with one of the other two to choose from; SIX months later...guess what! You got it, same indentation, same "roll out of bed" mattress that is too dangerous for my ageing parents...I called Simmons and she kept threatening to hang up on me if I didnt lower my voice yet she kept cutting me off...I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SIMMONS AND I WILL TELL ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO WILL LISTEN AS TO WHAT THEY DID TO MY PARENTS. And lets not forget that Mancini's is selling this crap!
Never again
Simmons, what a joke! They do not honor their warranty. My top of the line Exceptional mattress failed in less than a year with two trough like depressions where we lay. This was deemed "normal compression" by Simmons. I am told the more plush and expensive the mattress, the more likely this is to occur... it is conforming to our bodies. I'm a disabled vet who can no longer use this very expensive piece of junk, can not afford to replace it and must now sleep on the couch or be forever unable to escape my mattress. What a pathetic excuse for customer service. They also told me I must now wait for at least 6 more months before filing another complaint, that I am sure they will also deny. Simmons is crap. Never again, never!

Defective mattress - company will not honor warranty
Do not purchase a Blackline Helena from Simmons or dealer. I bought my mattress from an online dealer in NC and received my Blackline Helena mattress in late June 2007. By November I had sagging which was having me only be able to sleep on on side of mattress because I would roll down. OUt of those months I had not slept on it for 2months due to a TDY with my agency. I contacted the online store in November and again in December with no return contact. I did not sleep on my bed again for almost 4 months and in May 2008 I contacted Simmons to see if they could help with a warrant replacement. THe Tek Check representative came out and found I already had a 1/2 to 3/4 permanent depression. WHen submitted to Simmons they turned back in June and sent me a denial of warrant saying it was normal. I have had back problems and can feel the springs. STay away as I have heard of other problems with the blackline and the Helena but to no avail here. I spent a lot on the mattress to be having such a bad nights sleep.
What good is the warranty
We bought a queen size Simmons mattress in 2005. The sales person said the mattress has a 10 year warranty. I asked what was covered? He said well if the mattress fails the company will honor it. I said, "the most important thing to me was that I don't want to pay $1300 for a mattress and I am still rolling into my husband when he lays down". Needless to say, in 2006 the mattress started to fail. I couldn't take it anymore. For a year my husband slept at the foot of the bed and I at the head. We called the company in 2007, someone came out and noted that there was a depression of an inch and a half. The company called us back to say they couldn't honor the warranty because there was a small stain on the mattress. I hadn't noticed the stain. I remember I spilled soda on the mattress a couple days before and forgot about it. They said I should have brought a mattress cover from them to protect the mattress. I keep a mattress cover on my mattress but it had to be from their company or they would honor the warranty. I think it is a shame to pay so much money for a mattress and you don't get the quality you pay for. Every time I buy new products I always feel violated, like I was legally robbed of my hard earned money.
Any current info. on Simmons mattress lawsuits? Just bought one and it is tearing after a month!
Our bed sags so much after 7 months I have to hold on to the side to keep from rolling to the middle. Unfortunately, after six phone calls and sending certified letters to Simmons and Sit n Sleep, they offered me $750 credit, ONLY on a Simmons. I can't find a Simmons worth having.
Horrible and defective mattress! It sags within months and causes terrible back pains. We paid $2, 500. for a peice of garbage. We are irate and hate Simmons.
I am in the same situation.
you may want to send an email to
SIMMONS.BED.LAWSUIT@GMAIL.COM
there is a class action law suite being raised.
Same situation. NEVER BUY SIMMONS MATTRESS! THEY LIE! And their supposed 10 year warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
