I own a 2007 convertible PT cruiser and according to Chrysler my tank totally empty will take a maximum of 15 gallons I drove in to the Shell station above in Van Nuys CA in empty but by no means it was totally empty, in any case I went in to the cashier and I told him pump 3 fill up, I went a filled my tank and to my surprise it continued to fill past 15...

Shell gas station at Highway 6 and Briar Forest Drive in Houston. I have filled gas at this station many times. The pumps always seem to be out of recipt.
It always says "Your receipt is inside"
And the shell website does not have any place you can register a complaint like this.

I have patronized this station for 10 years.
I always pull my truck and horse trailer in the same way.
A Shell customer backed into my horse trailer.
I exchanged accident information with the driver.
The Shell Station owner interfered with the investigation.
I told the owner to cease and desist.
I proceeded to the pump after the accident exchange.
The owner asked if I were going to fill my truck - further harrasment.
The owner returned and asked if I were to fill a 6 gallon gas container in the back of my truck.
The owner returned the third time with two 8 1/2 sheets of paper in hand.
The owner leaned on my truck and looked at me.
I asked him for the third time to leave me alone.
The owner refused to leave.
I confronted the owner and asked again "what part of leave me alone do you not understand". His reaction was no comment.
I was hot by this time after being backed into and harrased.
The owner filed charges against me for battery. I never touched the owner.
Now I have to go to court to prove I acted with provocation.
All of this for 5 gallons of fuel.
This is big oil. Its not enough to charge $4.00 a gallon for fuel. They even want to abuse their customers.
I hope fuel goes to 10 cents a gallon and they want a bailout.

credit card practices
When swipping your credit/debit card, the pump instructs you to go inside. Once inside, they tell you that they are sorry but they have to swipe the card inside now for your protection. But you can't just fill the tank, you need to tell them how much money you want on your card (prepay).
1) The pump credit card slot should be covered.
2) The advertising pay at the pump should be removed.
3) Again, another vendor treating its customes and thieves.

does not accept debit card
I entered a Shell station after noticing I had forgotten to refill the previous day. I had been at this station withing a month before. I inserted my debit card and was then asked if it was a debit card. After pushing Yes I received a message saying that debit cards were not accepted and the a very rude message saying transaction canceled. End of transaction. I live on cash, no credit wanted. They didn't even have a sign saying that debit cards were no longer accepted, wasting my time. I went across the street and haed no problems at that station. I will not return to ANY Shell again.

Since nov 2015 we have been unable to use shell card. They have all kinds of excuses. I have complained to shell twice. We still can't use the card.
Although it might be a market ploy to get you to move to their Shell $aver Card. This is an ACH Debit Card. It costs the retailers considerably less to process as they bypass the debit networks. The money moves as an ACH transactions...the same as electronic bill pay transaction to your power company. This ACH debit card goes through the encrypted pad and all shell stations are required to accept it even if they don't want to take it.
It is because they do not want to pay for the encryption module for the pump. Debit Network requires that the PIN to be encrypted with a special encryption module in the pad. These modules are very expensives. A lot of the smaller fuel stations do not want to pay for the modules. I'm told that the modules cost around $1600 per keypad. To save money the merchant accepts only credit card at the pump and if you have to pay with debit they will have you come inside and pay at the terminal.
Fortunately most debit cards are also part of the Visa or MasterCard network so you can use it at the pump and pay as a credit card transaction. It costs the gas station less for PIN based debit in processing fees then it does for a credit transactions, but the smaller retailers can't afford the modules and it would take a lot of debit transactions to break even.
I've had the same thing happen at my local Shell station. I answer "no" for whether it is a debit card and it asks for my zip code and accepts the transaction as a credit instead of a debit card. I made the mistake of answering "yes" the other night. It cancelled the transaction, so I used the same debit card and answered "no" and it worked fine.

This place has a horrible car wash they for one do not understand english!

I always go to this specific shell gas station to buy my cigarettes and to get food from the attached restaurant. If I need gas, I get gas too. My brother buys cartons of cigarettes there too. My mom buys her cigarettes and gas there too. The shell is on the border of the next county, so this shell station has much lower cigarette prices.
This shell station is located on Lake Street in Hanover Park, IL near the Elgin O'Hare entrance ramp. I go in there often, and one particular employee is always giving me dirty looks. I have been using thank you, have a nice day, and other pleasantries to try and win him over. However, today at approx 12:20 A.M., he was very mean. He would not sell me a slushy, and the machine was full of slushy ice and rotating in both sides. Attempting to learn of its status, he told me that, "I am not going to tell you four times."
When I purchased the cigarettes, he threw the change on my hand. It flung off, and he was not looking at where it went. He did not hand me the cigarettes, but put them by the register almost half way across the register's counter. I grabbed the cigarettes, and kinda stood there shocked. He looked up and asked me, "Do you have a problem?" I told him that is was his attitude. He said, "Don't even." Then I started walking out, and as I was walking out he said it loud enough for to hear, "###in blah blah blah." I could not hear the rest. I turned around and asked what he said, and he repeated "I said don't even."
I said not that, what did you say after that. He said, "nothing" or something. I said you swore at me. Then he said, "I did not say ###, how about that!" I replied saying you7 swore at me again. Then he told me to, "Leave, and do not come back when I am here." Even then, I did not return insult, yelling, or anything.
Needless to say, I am really angered about this guy's treatment. He would not sell me a slushy, kicked me out, and swore at me, for no reason.

I also had problems with the "help" at the Shell Gas Station on Lake Street in Hanover Park, Il. My receipt did not completely print out, but I could see it. I asked the attendant to get the receipt out for me, since it had my information on it. She said it doesn't have any information on and printed a receipt. Well yes the receipts have your personal information on them, Then she said she couldn't go outside, since she was alone. No other customers were at the pumps or in the store, however she had a male friend in the store with her. She stated that the receipt was stuck so when the next customer came in and the receipt would not print, then she would go out and fix it and throw away my receipt. What? You can't fix it now but will fix it with the next customer! So I went out and over pumped into my car another .21 of gas and sure enough both receipts came out. I should have left, but I went in to explain that the receipt was not stuck. This clerk went beserck, egged on by her friend saying she did nothing wrong. I asked for the managers name and left ASAP, their behavior was off. I have been going to this station for over 15 years. I will no longer buy my gas at this location and will probably no longer buy Shell Oil gas. In the future attendants should offer to let the customer pump .10 gas for free when their equiment malfunctions and they cannot fix the problem. Remember the customer is always right.
I had a clerk talking to his friend and not paying one bit of attention to the patrons waiting for service. I just hope that they will start getting rid of workers like this because too many good people are looking for work for these kinds of people to have these customer service jobs.
Yes. Gas stations have really gotten bad. At a different Shell station, I had to deal an extremely rude young person who talked down to me as if she was doing me a favor.
It was the Shell Station in Madison, Tennessee. I paid for my gas outside and it never printed the receipt. I discovered later that they knew in advance that the pump wasn't printing receipts, yet they didn't bother putting a label on it warning customers that they would have to go inside the store for a receipt.
Once I went inside, I was wrongly informed that "we don't have to give you a receipt". Her attitude was extremely hateful. I called their customer service line and was told that they do, indeed, have to provide a receipt. I purchased over $90 in gas on that occassion and needed the receipt for my records.

My wife who is handicapped went to the shell station today and was trying to fill her car and was not able to use the equipment so she had to go inside the store and ask for help. The fellow came out and stuck the hose in her tank and turned it on and left. The wife was told not to do anything until it stopped and was left standing there waiting for the gas to shut off. Seems it turned off early only giving her 7 gallons of gas when the car was empty. She tried again to make it work herself and being unable to she ended up leaving the station with only the 7 gallons of fuel instead of the 18 Gallong she needed. She has a plackard stating she is handicapped and should not have to pump her gas to start with let alone have to go find someone to help her. We use this station all the time but it is usually myself who pumps the gas. If this is the kind of stervice she is going to get when she goes in by herself we will probably end up going to another brand of fuel who will offer her the help she needs.

I went to the petrol station today at 03:15. The attendant who is also the manager was stacking the shelves as I drove into the station so naturally I presumed that he would stop what he was doing and serve me. No such luck he carried on doing what ever he was doing as if I was not there. I had to bang on the window to get his attention. The when he did decide to serve me his customer service skills were non existent. He was very IMPOLITE and RUDE and that is the way he is with everyone especially at night. I have been using that station for 12 years. As a result I only ever us that station in extreme emergencies only.

I went to the gas station on shaw and peach in Fresno, Ca- I was just passing by and decided to buy a snack. I payed for my snack and the woman did not give me my change just the bills. I asked her where's my change? she said "I don't have any change" which is a lie because I know gas stations have a safe box for change. I said to her that she could at least tell me instead of just hoping I didn't notice. She then started taking the change out of the donation cup and I got more mad. I said to her " I don't want the money out of a sick persons pocket, she then started laughing I got mad and walked out. She needs to be fired for being lazy I later called and asked the gas station about there change shortage and they told me that they NEVER run out of change. She is LAZY DIS HONEST and RUDE.
today aug. 29 at 11:30 am. went to get gas at the hickey station in dalycity. paided 15.00 dollars on pump 3. was distracted by someone i knew getting gas and in conversation, drove away. 30 minuts latter reailized i forgot to pump my gas. returned only to find out someone pumped my gas 5 minutes before i returned. the attendent left the pump on instead of shutting it down and putting my money aside for me to return, wich would have been good customer service. left with no gas, went across the street to the chevron instead. i would like compasation for what i lost or i will not use your service again
I went to the shell gas station in Bryan Road Maryland, trying to use the Safeway card for my discounts earn at Giant foods. The pump would not take had to see cashier which was unreal they didn't know what to do. I had to pay for the full price of gas. What good is Giant card at shell if you can not use it.
