PNC Financial Services Grouppnc accepted an altered check and has not reimbursed us

In 2016, PNC accepted a check that we wrote out for $200 but was altered to $1200. We notified them as soon as we noticed and they advised it would take up to 6 months to research. It's been 15 months and we are still waiting for a reimbursement. Because of the poor customer experience, we closed our account which had become overdrawn and PNC eventually sent our account to Collections. PNC's Security and Privacy statement says "We stand ready to help guide you every step of the way and get your credit, identity and account information restored as quickly and completely as possible to minimize damages." We don't feel they stand by their word. They do not protect their customers nor do they take ownership of their own mistakes. We are still expecting a full reimbursement of our $1000 that they negligently handed over to a thief. Mike K @ 224.234.9374
