PNC Financial Services Group customer rip off

PNC processes withdrawals highest value first to maximize the generation of over draft fees. I had a check deposited 3 days early and it caused an over draft on my account, I immediately transferred money from my other bank but they didn't credit the account until the next day. For covering $45.00 in transactions, they charged me $180 although the money was there the whole time. When I spoke with the Branch Manager, I was told that was just the way it works at PNC; as soon as I move my direct deposit I am closing the account. Stick with the Community Banks who are Customer Focused instead of solely focused on the profits.

PNC Financial Services Group deceptive lending

When I chose my mortgage program through my National City Mortgage salesman in the fall of 2007, I did so believing that the grant I was getting from the state of Maryland (for being a first-time homebuyer, having a qualifying income and buying in Baltimore City) was to be forgiven at 1/3 per year for three years and that if I sold before 3 years were up, I'd pay back the balance. Oh, No, not true. I do have the paper he showed me, but I put my signature on the next page, which says I owe it all back for selling at any time up to 4 years after purchase. Bogman, the servicing company, says I have no recourse, and I am sure I don't.

PNC Financial Services Group inconvenience

PNC recently bought national city. i have never had a problem with national city and have been banking nearly ten years with them. on the 24th of march 12am, all national city bank cards ceased to function. however, i was never notified of this. when i WAS told, it was from the mouth of a meth head gas station attendant right as i tried to buy a red bull before work. i still have some nat city checks. they continued to work for FOUR MORE days, giving a false sense of accesibility to my funds. on sunday, i was told by a cashier at the grocery store that they couldnt take my checks.
i called PNC the same day wanting to know if my card was on its way. they said there was a problem with my address, so i confirmed with them, even thought the info they read to me was correct. he told me 2 business days. that was sunday and now its friday.
these people are a joke.

I can't tell you strongly enough... Stay away from this bank. They can really ruin your life!

I had purchased/financed a used vehicle and they botched up the paperwork so badly that the manufacturer will not release the title, but they established the loan and still hold me responsible. I cannot drive or license my $33k car due to PNC's horrendous handling of the title work. And they are still holding me to the loan. It's been two months and no sight of a resolution. The manufacturer got their pay-off and they consider the car still owned by the prior owner, who is unreachable.

They are destroying my (once 811 score) credit... costing me thousands... and basically ruining my life. I'm so sick from this I cannot stand it. Attorney fees will be through the roof. This started with the PNC Branch on Henderson in Columbus, OH... and I has progressed to their upper tier loan centers with no resolution (all of PNC has been useless in trying to resolve this). Henderson Road, Columbus is horribly managed (well all of it is). And this after being an excellent customer with a prior vehicle.

PNC is heartless and will not resolve this. They simply say, "sorry". Find another institution to finance through. I just want to off myself due to these jerks. Save yourself the pain. These people are thieves!

This whole issue started feb.17th. I didn't receive a couple of items in the mail, so I called pnc bank about it. They said they'd take care of it. They gave me the money back, and I had to sign papers when I received them.

April came, and still no papers. I called them, and they said they'd send them.in the meantime - I wrote them a letter explaining in full detail everything that happened.

May comes, and finally the affadavit arrives. I sent them back with another letter in full detail of things.

To this day, pnc bank says I owe them money. I did everything I was supposed to do. They're supposed to investigate this issue. They didn't. I refuse to pay for items that I never received. I don't want a lawyer, or anything. I just want people to know that pnc bank isn't trustworthy. I ban ked with them for 12 years with no problems. I have this one issue - and this is how i'm being treated.

PNC Bank needs to be pressured with Imminent (BK) Threats or Mediation Law and Procedures.
They are basically a giant collection agency. They purchase the distressed mortgage at Extreme Discounts from various key players in the sub-prime arena. They collect aggressively on this paper. They do not play by the rules and need to be pressed hard.

We have completed successful loan restructuring cases with PNC Bank. They are all long run and brutal battles.

PNC has put stop payments on my checks 5 times without my permission.

I have had my checks to my gas company and drs office stopped payment 4 times. I called gas company, they said they have stopped payment notice. I told them we didnt. They said bank said we did. Called the bank and they said they had no note of it. I tested them and paid one month online for the gas and it went through. The next month, wrote a check the day the bill came, and they stopped payment on it! Tried to get them to pay these but said I have to do a confernce call with bank and gas co to do that. I dont have that phone capapbility. Cant wait to open account at new bank.

Went to pnc back to open a new account since my bank does not have a branch in the new state i moved to. Being reluctant since i was with my bank for over 10 yrs I walk in. the agent was great no complaints about her at all. So 2 days later I recieve 2 envelopes (thinking its me and my husbands debit cards) I open I its my husbands card the secon stated they closed my account upon further review.. Not sure I understand so its know 5 days later and I have not recieved my money back I go to the branch that opened up the account and they say sorry cant help you have to wait for the check .. Know im beyond angry considering I opened the account knowing I could get access to it. I explained that I just moved here needed access to the cash ( for food gas and such) and again the manager simply says sorry cant help you. I am so frustrated I am going on everysight in hopes that pnc gets the message on how horrible there service are I have seen many other peole in the same situation as me one website showed that a customer waited over 1 month to get his money back. They want your money but it seems they dont want to give it back to you. Next on my list is the newspaper maybe then something will change for future new customer. BANKER BEWARE!

I recently moved into the East Brunswick area of New Jersey from Alabama. Apparently they don't have my bank here up in New Jersey (Regions), so I looked up local banks online and saw PNC Bank was one of the recommended ones. I wanted an account there, but I wanted to wait a few weeks until I got my check to open an account and deposit simultaneously. Coincidentally enough, I happened to go to PNC Bank with my Jersey friend (since he has an account there). He was going to withdraw money.

As we approached the counter, all of a sudden, the woman behind the counter's enthusiasm faded away (I think her name was Kina, if I remember correctly). My friend greeted her and asked how her day was going, and she only replied with a stale "Hey." Her smile was no longer there. Keep in mind that we don't know this woman, and my friend has never had her withdraw money for him before. Anyway, once Kina withdrew money for him, she counted it up, and my friend said that he thought she miscounted and was a couple of hundred dollars short. She looked bitterly at him and told him that it was the full amount. He asked her to recount it again, and she did, with the full amount there, but once she finished, she stacked the money together, slammed it on the table, and slid the money to him with a little too much thrust, enough so that a few of the hundred dollar bills hit the floor, then she gave somewhat of a brief, fake smile and didn't even apologize.

My friend didn't want to address the situation, so I went back the next day and asked for the manager myself. This tall guy walked in and I told him what happened. In a nutshell, he pretty much said that there was virtually nothing he could do about that situation, since she provided me with full service and did everything I asked. This guy was nice, but it almost felt like it was a pointless conversation I was having with him, since he told me twice that he couldn't do anything. I was upset, but I did not hold any further confrontation with him, and I left the bank.

I don't want to point fingers at anyone, but if you ask my opinion, I think she was just acting this way toward us because we're white. I noticed that the black man in front of us and the two black women that came behind us in line, she greeted happily and openly, but while we were up there, I just didn't feel at home anymore. I changed my mind shortly afterwards to open up an account at my second choice, Bank of America. Now, I don't necessarily trust them more than anything in the world, but there's no way I'm returning to PNC Bank, at least not in this area... and definitely not recommending it to anyone else.

Come on people... Do your research before selecting a bank. You can't fail to read a bank's disclosures and then complain after the fact when they enforce those disclosures. Read the disclosures and then make an educated decision. Do your research. Check forbes and other reputable sites. You will find that pnc is among the worst banking options out there. You will learn that their online banking is among the worst and their customer service is near the bottom of the list as well. You will find that their business practices are not customer oriented and that their reputation is almost universally poor. This is a poor, fragmented bank with lousy customer service and little positive to offer to offset these shortcomings. Do a basic search and you will find all the ammo you need to skip pnc and look at other options, they are aplenty. Just don't believe the few pnc employees that troll these complaint boards and try to put lipstick on a pig. Then again, go ahead and try pnc... I won't say "I told you so". Well, maybe I will.

Upon receiving a credit card invitation with a 50, 000 point bonus offer, I returned an application and used my card. I subsequently called twice to inquire about the bonus points and was told both times they would be credited to my account in a few weeks.

Today I was told I had neglected to include a registry number with my application and therefore I was not eligible to receive the bonus. I objected to being penalized because of a simple clerical oversight but your representative was adamant, insisting this could not be resolved.

I can’t believe your bank would refuse to honor a commitment based upon a trivial clerical omission. I canceled my PNC points card and am taking steps to transfer my checking account to another institution. Card No. [protected].

Every month for the past 3 months PNC Mortgage (CEO is James E. Rohr )has called my phone number 17+ times a month trying to ask me when I was mailing my mortgage payment. I am always on time with all my payments. They say oh yes the payment is not late until the 15th but it is actually due on the 1st, when can we expect your payment to be mailed in? Every call disrupts my work day. I have owned homes for 30 years now and never heard of such harrasement being done to people who do NOT make late payments. AVOID PNC Mortgage and James E. Rohr at all cost.

Went into a pnc bank with one of their depositors checks in the ammount of $15. Gripe one, after giving them my valid state issued drivers license they wanted a second form of identifcation. Arrogance meteer rose isntantly since that is all thats needed to get onto an airplane and i made a stink about that in rather loud tone

Keep in mind this is only a $15 check and i really got ticked when they tried to rip me off $10 fee for them to cash leaving me with a whopping 33% of the check. this really pissed me off and being rather irate and loud and calling them extortionist crooks they threatened to call the cops on me. So, my irritation went thru the roof and i used a lot more naughty words as the cocky arrogant bank officr picked up the phone to dial 911.

Is it me or should i have not been so irritated by them trying to rip me off a 66% fee for a 15 buck check thier depositor gave me and ther audacity to demand a second form of id after being presented a valid form of id issued by a state agency?

I wouldnt have been so vocally annoyed if at all being ripped off a $10 fee as a non account holder if the check i was trying to cash was for alot more than that such as one for 100.00 but for them to think they should be able to do 15-10=5 bucks total for the person cashing their check seems rather excessive to me

PNC Financial Services Group terrible customer service, switching banks

Wow, where do I even start. I guess first off if you had national city and they are now pnc, I am sorry. Pnc is awful, customer service is terrible and most importantly I sent a letter to the vice pres in pitt, pa and *he told me that find a better bank and go there.*

We have lost money from transfers since bills were not paid, we have tried to redeem points and have had service reps, yell at us, lie to us and we still have not received our points. We considered refinancing with them and what were thinking. This is just as bad as the bank, if not worse.

I loved national city, whoever took over with pnc has failed miserably and we will be moving to another bank soon. I also help clients with their utilities and other needs, including banks. I will be encouraging all clients to leave pnc as soon as possible. If the vp feels that way, I am going share that with anyone and everyone.

I have a mortgage with National City since 2005 and was very happy. I have been trying to refinance PNC Mortgage for 9 months. PNC Mortgage loan orgination organization is horrible, don't do business with them. First off, they can't even tell you what your Loan Payment off is even though they hold the mortgage. My LO continuely lost documents, never followed up and kept telling me I am in the queue. Finally after 7 months, the processor called me and ask, what you doing with the loan, we need to you sign disclosures, ah yes, the same disclosures I signed and sent the LO 6 months ago. Scott Russell is the LO and I would not recommend doing business with him. Barry Friedman is his manager, he failed to return several phone calls of mine when I tried to escaluate the matter. The processing group in Pittsburgh seem to held hostgage of overly aggressivve underwriting who want to know how you run your business if you are a small business owner. To top if off, just today, I just received a 2 months past due notice from Travelers on my homeowners insurance. From 2005 to May 2011 I have paid Travelers directly for the insurance . In speaking with Travelers a someone from PNC named Debbie (In Pittsburgh) talked to Travelers on March 31, 2011. One time to get a declaration the other time direct Travelers to begin billing PNC for monthly homeowners insurance out of escrow without my knowledge or any formal notification.
1. Travelers stopped billing me
2. PNC never paid it
My homeowners insurance almost lapsed.
STAY AWAY FROM PNC MORTGAGE.

My house recently was hit by a tornado in georgia. My insurance company sent me a check which in turn had to be sent to the mortgage company so I can get my roof redone.
We sent all the required forms on May 17, 2011 certified mail at 8;30 am. I wait for my partial check so I can get the contractor working on my home. PNC claims we did not send pages 6, and 7 from insurance company. We tell them that the pages were on the back side of pages 5 and 8. They claimed when copying the pages 6 & 7 was destroyed which I never heard of a bank destroying documents. We then fax pages 6 and 7 at 9;30 am at 2;30 pm i call they say they have to wait 24 hrs to find fax. They are so incompetent its riducules. They claim it will take 7-10 days for the mail to get here with my check. They simply are stealing from me and trying to make the most of making interest on my money. I told them I would drive to ohio to get my money. I need my roof fixed not be delayed!

I agree. I hate PNC. I had Nat'l City and loved them. I never once had an issue with my points... then I try to redeem 30, 000 points with PNC and they lost it. But, they say it's my fault and will not reissue the cards or give me back some or all of my points. Nat'l City was always good to me and accomodating. These people suck!

PNC Financial Services Group unethical fees

We are a small business providing payroll services to other small businesses. We opened a payroll tax escrow account at the bank when it was still mercantiles eastern shore bank. When pnc bank bought mercantile, we "wrongfully" assumed that our account would not change... After all, it is an escrow account. Opm: other peoples money. We don't use the account much, and just realized that they (pnc) have been charging us $3.00 per month service fees. The account now has half the amount of money in it than when pnc first took over. I didn't think fee on escrow accounts were allowed. Especially payroll tax escrow accounts! No one ever notified us to tell us that it was going to change. Can someone tell me if I have a leg to stand on with these people?

PNC Financial Services Group errant foreclosure

PNC falsely listed my home as foreclosed and turned over legal rights of it to Freddie Mac.
At first they denied making the mistake, and then they were slow at correcting it.
They were very arrogant and disorganized.
And they wouldn't compensate me in anyway for the trouble they put me through.
I would avoid doing business with them.

I agree that PNC should be investigated for their unethical practices. I have tried for over 8 months to get them to recognize me as a "BORROWER" on a loan that was modified in 2010. I was on the original note in 2004 when the house was purchased. My now ex-husband decided to take his new wife to Costa Rica and stop that house payment. So I fought and fought and FINALLY got it modified in 2009. They took my income, they pulled my credit reports, they asked for my bank statements, I signed documents listing me a BORROWER, it was filed and recorded in our courts. In our divorce I was awarded the house as a "property Settlement" and he was o make the payments until I decided to sell or it was paid in full.Loss Mitigation got copies of my finalized divorce papers during the processing of the modification Now the ex-husband filed for a Chapter 7, surrendering my house, but it is NOT DISCHARGEABLE . Once I found out about the filing I contacted PNC to let them know that i too would have no choice but to go bankrupt since he left me owing bills, BUT I was going to REAFFIRM the house. They told me they could not talk to me because they did not have permission from the BORROWER. I told them i was the borrower, they are not recognizing me one bit. They have given me the run around . one lie after another. I was told just because the loan was modified did NOT overrule the original note and settlement. that I was not on them, but I AM I said. They told me to get the ex's permission and they would talk to me. He is going bankrupt and surrendered the house, he is still ALLOWED information and I am NOT. I have contacted Ramona Dishman, which was told she is the assistant to Bill Cunningham, Senior Vice President. She told me to call Loan Escalations and she would call over and have someone talk to me. i could never get through, by the time I tried her back she was already gone, but she had someone from Customer Advocacy to call me. This was April 23, 2013. i explained everything again. I want access to my ACCOUNT, I want to be recognized as a borrower, the ex-husband is going bankrupt but he still is required to make the payments, but I am not sure he will and I want to be able to have access so I can if he doesn't and then file contempt against him, but she told me this was going to take some time to be patient. She was really good about calling me every other day, keeping me up to date, on their PROGRESS getting to the bottom of this mess. I fax over all the documents used in the modification, in the original loan, the divorce papers, the letter from him notarized in the divorced about the modification, copies of the divorce, everything. It was sent to their legal department to be researched. and a decision. What decision is there to be made? There is no decision. I am listed as BORROWER and that's the end of it. It was sent to the legal department in 2010 when all the papers went back signed and sealed and accepted in the modification, and it was checked and sent to the court house to be filed. Now it is back in their legal department being researched, that is INSANE.. After several emails and phone calls from this person that was taking care of it, it seems now I can't even get a response, and if I do it is just basically another story. As of today, I have emailed 4 times and no response from her. I have talked with an attorney, he researched the paperwork filed and recorded and done it in 2 DAYS, not a month. He has told me that I need to consider filing a motion for a BREACH OF CONTRACT because there is ABSOLUTELY no reason why they are doing this everything is as it should be. I have filed complaints with the Attorney General's Office in Georgia, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, The Office of Consumer Affairs. I received a letter from PNC about the complaint from Consumer Affiars, that states" they have received my complaint and when they respond they will respond to the BORROWER because they don't have permission to discuss the loan with me". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am past being pissed with these ignorant people. I am wanting to keep the house, I want to pay the payments if he doesn't, how hard is that. I have filed for a proceeding in his bankruptcy, so i can make certain he won't be allowed to ever have this debt discharged until it is paid in full, and as soon as that is done, I should of heard back from one of the complaints I filed, and then i am going to file for BREACH OF CONTRACT. This mortgage company needs to be held accountable for what they do and DO NOT DO. This is not a hard fix.. Its plain and simple. We got a modification, I am on there as BORROWER, you have no legal right to dispute me as that. PNC accepted the signed, and notarized paperwork back, they signed it and accepted, that makes is LEGAL AND BINDING, . The people that tell you they are going to help start out of the gate great but don't finish and they have no remorse whatsoever the lies they tell the homeowner. What if it were them?
I would have no problem filing a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them or being included in one if needed to. I want this mortgage company to abide by the law and do what they should do instead of lying to us all in their favor. NO MATTER WHAT...

We sold a house in another state and bought our dream house in 2006 in a different state. We were told at the signing with National City that it was a "30 year fixed loan!" The agent also said, "no worries, we can refi in a couple years!" well, we had NO idea it was a 7 year ARM Interest only loan. We tried to do a mod ourselves to no avail and then paid 3, 200.00 to a mod company that was equally unsucessful. We have since filed CH 13 BK, but saved the house. The loan is set to reset in 2013. To me anymore, part of me wishes I could have walked away when the chance was right and left PRIVATE NAZI CORPORATION (PNC) with a -250, 000 bill on an underwater RIPOFF we call our home!
yes, I agree...they could care less. I am hoping more for Kharma!

yes I do agree with all the above comments regarding PNC mortgage. seriously pnc must be investigated by the Attorney general office in all state. they do not care about any home owner except their greedy wicked company. I had applied for modification work up 4 times after I was told I do qualify, nevertheless, I had been turned down by this company everytime. If you late 2 mths with your payment, they will not take one month if you sent it. Their evil and wicked self will return the money. PNC delight in foreclosing people's homes than assisting them with any alternative work up. May judgement come over the whole company and the foreclosure lawyers. D

I live in Nampa, Id and since March 2009 i have been dealing with PNC. I was 2mos behind and they tossed me into the stimulus pkg to HELP me. Yeah right...i have been twice denied...they will not accept pymt. Now Months later we have a pymt arrangement dated june 2nd and the very next day we receive a letter from an attorneys office saying PNC turned us to them to start foreclosure...!
What the heck kind of racket is this. They are suppose to help you but really are screwing us around so much that now we are behind again. I have been on the phone for over 40 minutes waiting for someone in the foreclosure dept to answer the phone. This wait time indicates to me that I am not alone in this problem witg PNC.
I finally after 45 mins on hold spoke with loss mitigation at PNC and they told me we have to start over yet again! The pymt plan is void because we could not pull money out of our 401K with in three days. This company is a joke. WOULD WARN EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM ! I TOLD THE LADY I AM CONTACTING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN IDAHO AND IN OHIO WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED.!

PNC Financial Services Group poor / no service

On 2/19/10 redeemed a cd for $40, 000.00 at local Palm Bay branch. It was an IRA CD and since the IRS does not let you accept the money for a 60 day turn-around more than once in a 12 month period, I asked that it be transfered to my TD-Ameritrade brokerage account. Marita, the sales consultant said she could not do that. I then spoke with Carid Smith the Manager and he printed out the forms from TD-Ameritrade and said the money would be transfered within 3 days. Note: (Space coast credit union redeemed another CD for me the same day and took care of it).

On 2/19/10 The money had not been transfered and I went to Craig Smith to find out why. He called the IRA department and was told that they did not have a signed form from the brokerage and had not sent it as a result. No explanation was give to Mr Smith or myself as to why no one notified either of as about this situation. He called Ameritrade and they faxed the form requested.

On 2/15/10 the money still had not been transfered. Mr Smith was unavailable so I called the IRA dept and spoke with Dawnna who was very rude and said she would send the money within 2 days. So I will have to wait!

30 days is a long time to not have my money, It the roles were reversed there would be numerous penalties and fees from the bank.

pnc and their arrogance is rather legendary it seems. Went in with a check as a non accountholder drawn on pnc bank and presented my state drivers license which normally gets you onto an airline flight or will buy you a gun at a gun store only to be informed that they require two forms of id such as a credit card, which i dont have or a us passport and when asked why the stated the patriot act as thier reason. When asked then why i can get on a plane wtih my valid id and not cash thier account holders check with the same id they exhibtied really cocky attitude and i stated well when was the last time a pnc branch flew into the pentagon?

After a heated dispute and about 12 police officers sicked on me they then refused to cas the check because my signature wasnt the same as on my valid photo id and for good reason as i have since had a stroke and other neuroligcal problems that make it hard for me to hold a pen let alone sign my name as i had prior to my injuries. Never knew that i had to sign a check exactly the way i signed my state drivers licence

what further exhibits their arrogance is that they fail to fully disclose the hoops until after you hand the transaction to thier inept arrogant and thug like staffers behind the teller counter. The fact that my signature didnt match was irrelevant since the photo of my valid id showwed who i was . Next time i may tell them i am unable to write and have to sign it with an x like those who are iliterate are permitted to do

PNC Financial Services Group false overdraft fees

PNC bank has had a habit of putting transactions through in just the perfect order to get their free money.
I asked to be removed from their "Automatic Overdraft" system so if My wife or I attempted to purchase something and the funds weren't there, it would be rejected.
I went into the bank and the teller said I would no longer be on the "Automatic Overdraft" plan, so I wouldn't be getting any surprises.
Lo and behold, three new $36 overdraft fees!

And what's worse, the thieves grouped the transactions to maximize their free money. Stealing from Hard Working Americans again. The fees were charged against "Pending" items.

I can't believe they aren't better regulated and are allowed to freely steal from our account. We we wealthy, they wouldn't be doing this!

After a testy exchange on the phone, She said the "Merchants chose to do the business that way".

So I also wrote them on their site. They suggested that I get removed from their automatic overdraft protection - which I did!

I know exactly what you are talking about! They charge pending items. I got charged for items that I bought when I DID have money in the bank. It is only because they choose to post items in a particular way that I was charged. I was charged over $200 in overdraft fees!

And for those of you that say all of us "complainers" should take responsibility for our financial actions, I'm sure you haven't been charged an overdraft fee, therefore you do not understand.

I admit, there have been times I blatantly took money (because I needed it) when I knew I would overdraw my account and I take responsibility for that! BUT, this most recent time, for example, WAS NOT MY FAULT!

PNC Financial Services Group invasion of privacy!

PNC hired a person with a disturbing history background, why you ask?, I have'nt a clue maybe they did'nt do a background check because they knew someone who already worked there. I had an incident happen where the employee of the PNC Bank in (Voorhees or Cherry Hill) area looked under my account and now has private information about me. This came as a surprise when this employee apparently knew many private personal information on me, example- how much money I make, where I use my atm card, where and when I made purchases ...I am extremely upset about how the managers and bosses in this company, allowing there employees to view private information about a customer..

I still have not proceeded to do anything about this incident that now happened 10 times already, but after I speak to the authority hopefulyl there will be changes made to all employees and managers to have their computers checked periodically to examine why and for what purpose they are on certain accounts that do not pertain to them.

Highly Upset!

I can understand your frustration and your privacy feels invaded... I think you need to address this to pnc as well as the authority as well if you do no then nothing will get done. If they have employees corrupting information then they need to be addressed but pnc will never know unless you come forward.. so stop being frustrated and do something about it... As far as limiting access to customer information to employees that would kinda defeat their jobs thats like construction workers working with no tools... so good luck and i hope this person is dealt with

PNC is one of the worst run finanical institutions in the marketplace. They deal in high volume which means they don't care about the consumer. They lost forms, or had me sign forms at one branch and I was told at other branches that the form was irrelevant. Inconsistent in their processes and their telephone service reps are extremely rude. I pay beyond loan amount each month in an effort to reduce the principal. Late by 2 days, receieved 3 phone calls and a letter as if I was a bum who was avoiding payments. Totally disgusted and will tell each person I know to avoid this bank!

I do not suggest doing business with PNC, particularly if you are incorporated entity. All three items below are facts only.

1. PNC drilled one of my company's safe deposit box. We did not get a bill for a year or two (we should have noticed but did not) but kept on visiting the bank to place items in the box. about 6-8 months the locks were drilled and the contents removed. After four visits and a number of conversations with the branch manager, they found everything after about 5 weeks.

2. opened a standby Letter of Credit. Charges came to over $850 for a FULLY COLLATERALIZED instrument. The branch layed on a $500 fee that we were told they would not charge.

3. Fees are much lower elsewhere. For example, international wire transfers at PNC were over $80. Citizens is $35.

You judge.

I have also recently been robbed thanks to the convenient delay between posting ACH transactions. There was a day delay between a transfer and even though it was pending I was still charged 5 $36 fees.

I am promptly closing my account after being told they aren't going to simply rob me of $180.00 for an honest mistake with no malicious intent on my end. I would suggest everyone else do the same and find a bank that will provide better service around today's changing banking behavior with electronic payments. They provide online banking services simply so you can watch them rape your account while you have no control over the ability to move anything faster. Some common sense on the banks end would have avoided all of this.

I have also found the PNC Bank ib Scranton. Pa to be extremely crooked. Also very bad costumer service and also being crooked purposely. The PNC Bank in Scranton, Pa had their ATM machine broken for two month and they still had it available to the public. A month ago I went to take my money out of their ATM with my EPPI card. I was in a rush so I took a certain amount of money out and left. When I got home I was missing my EPPI card. I called the bank next day they refused to open the Box to see if my card was there. They told me they would not open the box until 3:30 that afternoon. Later they told me my card wasn't there. This month I went back to this ATM with the suspicion that it had taken my card the previous month. I was right. The Scranton PNC Bank ATM took my card before the transaction was finished.Next morning I went there and the same story. They knew the ATM was broken. They said they had fix it that morning . They refused to give me my card back. They told me they only give back PMC cards! They got to be kidding. Then the head honcho (A woman who is as rude as hell) told me a different version. Well the ATM shredded your card. Then i told her I wanted my card's remains and she refused to give them to me. I had to pay a high price twice to get my cards sent to me plus the inconvenience of not being able to get my money. The night this happened to me there where a couple of people there who had lost their cards there the same way. To who can you go with this one and complaint and stop this people from acting this way?

Yes, PNC bank is nothing more than thieves taking money from the general public. In the old days did they have overdraft fees? no. For example, I just spoke with a PNC rep. Because of the new legislation banning banks from charging overdraft fees on check cards, they now offer an option where the bank card is not overdrawn and the transaction is simply denied, without fee. So I asked them if there was that option on my bill pay. They said that wasn't an option of course. Or maybe setting up a warning system to let you know that a pending transaction will overdraw your account. Now thats a real service. These guys need to be hung, and hung high.

Pnc are just another example of American banks robbing people of their money! Cost me $36.oo for being $0.50 over drawn. Fine dose not match the crime. Its quite alright for banks to take our money to bail them out and pay them selfs huge bonuses then turn around and rip us off again! Time for all of us to make a stand on corp America! And by the (Tired of stupid) over draft is offered for a reason in case of emergencies. But your prob work for one of those crooks and are part of the problem with this country.

PNC Financial Services Group scam on late fees

Once pnc merged with ncm they are now unable to track the money they collect from the customers and they are illegally overcharging late fees. Twice now, six month apart, I have been charged a late fee for my monthly payment on the first of the month, I have a 15 day grace. When I contacted pnc and asked why I was assessed a late fee and where is the money now since it should not have been charged, pnc refuses to answer I do not have an escrow so I asked pnc that they did with the money they refuse to answer. I sent 3 certified letters they will not touch the subject and refuse to answer a simple question which is where did my money go. If you are having this problem please send an email to [protected]@yahoo.com with a short paragraph of your issue. I am gathering info for a potential fraud scam by pnc.

PNC Financial Services Group gift card

I was given a gift card by an acquaintance right before Christmas this year. It had a certain dollar amount on it. Some of it was used, and right after a gas station transaction the other night, it was denied everywhere else that I tried to use it. I called the phone number on the back of the card 5 times since then and here are the lies I was told: Rep. 1 told me that the remaining funds were being held because the gas attendant should have swiped the card inside the gas station instead of at the pump. I asked how long it would take to get the money reinstated and was told it could be about 24 - 48 hours. I was told that the merchant has to settle the transaction. I returned to the merchant later the same night and told him what they said. He is foreign so he did not really understand. I used his phone to call the PNC number again to get clarity. However, Rep 2 told me that the merchant can't do anything, that it is up to the bank and to go to my local branch. I did that this morning, it's Christmas Eve, only to be told that they can't do anything about it. Later on today, I called the number again and Rep 3 told me that the bank cannot do anything. I questioned why I was told that, and she had nothing to say, no explanation. She actually said that the card itself is in control of the transaction. I could not believe how absurd this was and I said that they should state how it can and cannot be used on a placard or something when you get the card. She said that the terms and conditions are accessible on the website because they are so lengthy they will not fit on a card. I asked about what happens if you don't have a computer, and how this is inconvenient and ridiculous. I asked about how long it would take to have the funds reinstated and she said that it would take about 8 days! I asked why I was earlier told by another rep that it would be about 24 - 48 hours. She had no explanation. I called later still to another rep, #4, who told me that the merchant controls when they settle their transaction and it hits from his bank to mine. I then questioned how they can say with any certainty when it will be released and why am I being told that the merchant controls this, or the card controls it, but the bank itself can do nothing. Where is the accountability? I am very strongly considering pulling all of my accounts from PNC Bank. I cannot believe all of the inconvenience and the general lack of responsibility. I will never buy a PNC gift card for anyone. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Complete idiots! I told them I would tell everyone I know about this, and they said to go ahead, so here it is... What a bunch of incompetent liars! Anyway, Merry Christmas to all and I do hope people can learn from my experience so it won't happen to anyone else! Thanks for listening, and God bless America!

You said "I am very strongly considering pulling all of my accounts from PNC Bank."

Looking at the litany of complaints already lodged against that organization (see below), I hope you make it a priority to close out your business with them immediately - before they get around to screwing you big-time.

I'm guessing that by now they've probably figured out which customer you are, and have already added you onto their [censored]list!

PNC Financial Services Group beware

Just wanted to inform you that in total disgust I canceled my credit card, I was sent a letter saying my interest rate, etc. was being raised because of a limited relationship, serious delinquencies, and a high debt ratio.

Shame on you for being liars, I went to my bank where we pulled my credit record and there are no past due accounts or delinquencies that could be identified for the 48-month reporting period.

The limited relationship is correct. I believe being a customer of 4-years, on-time payments, and always paying beyond the minimum due is a limited relationship on your short sighted part. Too bad National City was taken over by low life ### like yourselves.

As for the debit ratio, funny I was able to secure an equity line which exceeds $150, 000 and by the way matches the amount I have invested in my local bank. They understand relationships and perhaps you could learn from them.

It is apparent that this is a tactic PNC uses to jack up interest rates and extort money from clients that have accounts in good standing. I will to the fullest extent possible provide all the free publicity for PNC I can. Starting with Banking Authorities and attempt to engage an attorney to pursue a class action suit based on your fraudulent claims my credit was less than desirable as stated in your letter.

I spent twenty years of my life honorably serving the United States of America in our military to ensure our country remained free of your kind. You are the problem with the economy in the United States of America and crooks like you should not be allowed to freely roam and rape and pillage our country.

PNC Financial Services Group over draft fees

I just turn 41 and now I don’t know how to manage my money according to pnc bank. My last 2 months of banking with them was a nightmare. I’m no long a customer of pnc…it’s almost 2010 and there system is [censored] backward. They almost had me believing that I was causing the over draft fees on my account. I went over on my checking account by $15 dollars and it cost me $145.00. I had money in my saving to cover that transaction but I didn’t sign up for over draft protection. (fine) no argument there. Why do they pay off the highest transactions first and the lowest last? Why not pay them off in the order that you made the transaction. I’m christmas shopping and my last purchase cost me 75 dollars on a sunday. (that should equal 1 over draft fees, not with pnc) because they pay the highest first. I got 3 over draft fees. The first was for a $3 mc donald’s transaction on friday morning. The second was a $4.50 shoprite transaction on friday also. The last was a $25 dollar gas purchase done friday also. I did not have enough to cover the last three small transactions. When I made the $75 purchase why didn’t my card say decline transaction? Pnc answer was the reserve bank is not open on the weekend and the purchase do not clear until monday. So, my next reply was “ you’re trying to tell me I can purchase a tv and go into the pnc bank and pull that money out on the weekend because the tv purchase don’t get down loaded until monday.” there answer was “no sir there’s blocks to prevent that from happen.” my next reply was “mama I know that because it would say sales decline. I went over on my account less than $20. Pnc gain $140. If they charged me in the order that i’ve made my transaction pnc would of only charge me $36. With my direct deposit pnc would get there money off the top. For the last 2 month my pnc banking cost me more that my cable bill. Thank you pnc for the wonderful experience.

I didn't have an issue with PNC until approximately 1-1/2 years ago. Suddenly, I found multiple overdraft fees being charged for debits that I actually had funds to cover. I had an IRS refund credited to my account, which should have covered the small charges I made against the card. Even though it was federal funds deposited, and the charges were not made until the following 2 days, the federal deposit had to "clear." Of course, this resulted in numberous overdraft fees.
This scenario has repeated itself almost monthly, as PNC also has to "clear" my payroll automatic deposit. I've had the same automatic payroll deposit from the same employer to PNC for almost 20 years, but it still has to "clear." In prior years, that was not the case and I never was assessed overdraft fees. Now, I'm hit with overdraft fees monthly, when the funds are in the bank and should cover all charges. Why? I've never been able to comprehend why, no matter how many different employees I speak to.
I detest PNC. Unfortunately I have so many autodebits and autodeposits set up with PNC that it would be a major-league headache to switch banks, even if I could, given the history of overdraft fees that PNC has been kind enough to endow upon me.

PNC Financial Services Group suspected loan fraud company

A Mr "Redman" called my phone saying he was a financial rep for PNC Referral Services claiming his company was approving me for a 5000 loan. I dont even remember submitting an application with this"company". So...I said fine, give me the company's full name, physical address, all relevant telephone numbers, the company business ID, his employee ID, to send me all relavent documents so I could, with a lawyer, look over the documents to make sure everythig was legit, and so I could contact the BBB for a report on his company...you can guess what happened next...his voice began to waver, he stated"Well Mr Walker I can see you do not wish to continue further with your loan application. I said" Sure I will, just give me the requested info I asked for...after all, you want all MY relevant information, and I want all your and you companies relavent information, to make sure all is legit and all the i's are dotted and all the t's crossed...he replied"we are gladly terminating your application sir, goodbye". He hung up faster than Quicksilver! And they would not answer their phones after that...So...Come to your own conclusion...can we all spell SCAMMER? So, in my own humble opinion...this "company "is, to say the least...QUITE suspect.

PNC Financial Services Group refusing payments

I came across one of the complaints that NCM refused payments and thought to let readers know it happean to me.
I made all of my months payments on time up until I lost my job and fell behind but always made the payments in full amouts until they sent it back saying " I need to make arrangment with the attorney in Oahu, who would not negotiate. I learned just the other day that NCM is no longer and have been taken over or emerged with PNC and the take over or opening day is on Nove. 9, 2009. How ironic that I got a letter to foreclose dated Nov. 4th and received Nov 14th.
Does anyone out there understand what President Obama really meant when he made supposedly a "bailout" money to help with us? Can anyone out there help.

PNC Financial Services Group overdraft fees on closed acct

My husband had to file bankruptcy due to medical bills. He was unable to get one of the creditors to stop a re-occuring payment from his checking account so he closed the account. Even though the account is closed, the bank has continued to pay this creditor, along with one check he had written before closing the account(which he paid from his new checking account at a different bank). The bank insists they are "required" to pay any items presented to them on the closed account. What recourse do we have to stop these payments?

I had a similar problem. Street I 'closed' the account and automatic payment that I set up with Bill pay tried to come through. According to the rep, this 'popped' the account back open. I went into the back and attempted to make a deposit to bring it back into the positive and attempt to close the account again but was told that it's a closed account and I could not make a deposit. I was going to show my direct deposit to go into the account to bring it to the positive but the bank also declined the deposit because the account was 'closed'. So apparently closing an account with one doesn't really mean closed. I no longer had access to my account so I want able to stop the automatic payment. Silly me for thinking that when I closed an account ALL activity would cease. Pnc told me that when ever something attempted to come through, I would be charged. Go figure. So they aren't paying anything into overdraft, they are returning items AND but charging me fees! I can't make a deposit so I just have to sit back and watch it go further and further into the negative. And ALL of it is bank fees. There have been a couple class action suits against them, I sense another is soon to come

Also Jake, If its a direct deposit funds are made available the day of the deposit for any bank. If its a check it depends on the banks availability guidelines even if it is a government check. Maybe you should make sure your funds are available before you use them. Most banks have phone, internet, and ATM services where you can easily see what funds are available for you to use.

They are correct in saying they are required to continue to pay after the account is closed. It is up to you to call the people you owe any debt to that have payments coming out of your account. You even said you wrote a check out from the account and you expect the bank to not pay it but still have to take the time to process it and you not have to pay? Unlike a past poster commented the overdraft charges do not seem to be illegal. Also if you filed bankruptcy and the creditor is ordered to stop collecting but still continue its up to you to take of it not the bank. It sounds like you were quick to close the account for all the wrong reasons without knowing what you were doing and now you got a mess you don't want to have to deal with yourself.

I suggest that in order to get this corrected to file a complaint with your BBB in your area or state. I also banked with PNC and found myself in the negative. I had my military check deposited and the bank seems to allow an account to go overdrawn due to their failure to apply funds that are made automatically by the US depository. It is only profitable for them to apply that after wards so that they can apply over draft charges illegally. It is a real shame that this practice of theft is allowed. I hope that they are found at fault in our courts and prosecuted for theft.

"Smart"Consumer100 must work for the banks. That's the only possible reason for such hatred against someone who tells people how to AVOID overdraft fees. Using "experience and common sense, " by the way.

Which banks are paying you to be their shill?

AniOR -- why would someone from the banks be telling people how to AVOID overdraft fees? The banks want to keep collecting that money.

Note to all of above ~ this "Maggie" makes a habit of making inane derogatory comments on complaint pages about banks. See "Maggie" profile and comment list. and also note this "Maggie" is always in favor of the banks. Could this "Maggie" be the bank? Such as the establishment itself that we all are bangin our heads against?

PNC Financial Services Group excessive overdraft fees

Pnc is controlled by gallup polling and highest fees in the banking industry. They laugh behind customers backs when they charge odf. Pnc only wants affluent clients. The rest of you can kiss their assess.

Son is in military and still uses PNC bank as his "home" bank mainly because that is where his family banks. PNC does not have a bank where he is usually stationed and charges $2.50 per withdrawl. This was raised .50 in the last month. Am calling around to find him a Credit Union near where he is stationed because I am sick of the escalating bank fees. I have called PNC to see what alternative he has and they were fine with go find another bank. That is the attitude of a bank that doesn't care. I am now part of the "move your money movement".
