I was looking for Weight Loss sites and clicked onto this company. Boy, was that a BIG mistake! Received the trial sample I ordered for $ 4.99 on 2-6-09 and to my surprise my credit card was charged $79.96 on 2-26-09. Red flags should have been raised when my bank left a message on the day I ordered to see if I o.k.'d this purchase for $4.99. Since everything is automated I just approved the charge and forgot about it. HUGE mistake. I should have checked further into it. My bad. I was lucky to find a 1-800 number under "complaints" when you Google their web site. Called the number - waited forever for a representative - finally talked to "Marvin" who informed me that yes, I did sign up for my account to be charged $79.96. I asked where did it say that and he told me that it was in my e-mail confirmation and I informed him that I have my e-mail conformation and it said no such thing and the packing list I received with my order also said nothing about canceling anything. An even bigger surprise was that "Marvin" told me that I also signed up for "Fit Factory" AND "Cost Smashers" when I "agreed" (NOT!) to sign up with them. I asked him to cancel my "membership" and he also canceled my "membership" to the other 2 companies. I also informed "Marvin" that I would be filing a complaint and contacting my credit card company at once. He said he was going to go ahead and "credit" my credit card with the $79.96 that I was charged. I got conformation #'s for that, my "membership" to Natures Acai, Fit Factory and Cost Smashers. After reading other complaints I feel pretty lucky that I was offered a refund. As of yet my credit card has not been credited but I will keep a close eye out for that and any other unauthorized charges to my account. Like they say "There should be a law!" This is downright FRAUD! Do not get sucked into their scam. I will never EVER order anything like this again!

Natures ACAI Berry

Scam

I ordered Nature's Acai Berry on 2/13/09. I received it at my home on 2/26/09. I called to cancel my account on 2/27, but could not get through on their phone lines. I tried again on 2/28 and still could not get through (after being on hold for 35 minutes!). I finally got on operator on 3/3 and she didn't let me talk. She said they were busy and someone would call me back in 24-48 hours. Nobody called me so I called again on 3/5 and cancelled the account. I got my credit care bill today and GUESS WHAT? They charged me $79.96 because I didn't call them in time to cancel my account! I just got off the phone with Nancy Martinez, a "customer service supervisor" who told me there was nothing she could do for me. I AM FURIOUS! Besides the fact that the acai berry did absolutely NOTHING for me except give me a headache! If you are considering ordering this product, DON'T! It is nothing but a SCAM!

"FREE TRIAL OFFERs" FOR ACAI BERRY ARE NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. These scammers will charge your credit card at least $80 per bottle each month. That more than twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. And to make it worse, they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying at least 4 times more per bottle than you should.

YOU WILL BE SIGNED UP FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn't be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn't sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.

YOU WILL SPEND HOURS TRYING TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don't believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround

THEY WILL SHIP YOU A CRAPPY, NEARLY WORTHLESS NO NAME BRAND OF ACAI BERRY SUPPLEMENT
They don't expect you to be happy with the product. They don't care, so they make even more money by shipping you crap. Acai Berry supplements must be freeze dried, or else they lose most of the nutrients and antioxidents. These scammers use cheap, heat processed Acai that cost 1/2 as much. Read more about choosing a quality supplement

THEY OFTEN BUNDLE OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE SUBSCRIPTION TO CHARGE YOU EVEN MORE
It's really obscene what some of these scammers do. We've listed a common offer below, where they bundle additional offers if you do not deselect the checkbox (it's checked by default). Some are hitting people with $150 a month in charges.

Company offers a product for free, you just pay $4.99 for shipping and handling. Unaware by purchaser, you have a 14 day trail period and my product did not arrive until after the 14 day trail period. The company then debits your credit card $79.96 for the product. I called
[protected] and spoke to Jem a customer service rep. She advised there were no refunds and if I wanted to cancel, I would be charged an additional $29.95 for some other built in trail period item. I strongly objected and advised the Rep, I conceided to $79.96 but I wasn't going allow the company take any more of my money. I notified my banking institution and advised them not to accept any charges from Natures Acai. Buyer be aware, always click on the terms & conditions
of items and products which are suppose to be FREE. Everything is not mentioned in the Terms & Conditions.

I purchased this product, according to thier records, on 2/21/09; they billed the shipping charge to my account on 2/24/09. I received the product on 3/6/09, the 14th day after placing my order. The very nature of a free trial period is that one is able to try the product, which I was not able to do. On 3/9/09, they charged my account $79.96 for "replenishment". When I phoned the company on [protected], I was told very sorry for your concern, but you have to phone within the 14 day trial period to stop the charge, and they cannot reverse the charge even though I did not receive the product to try. The only website information available is about billing.

When I went back to the website that I ordered through to look for a different telephone number or mailing information (or something!) to get further assistance, I found that the website I was directed to to order Nature's Best Acai Berry is actually somebody else's website! Not only is the service a scam, but the company is acting fraudulently by using someone else's website. The website I ordered through is actually Acai Berry Maxx, but their tech guys found that somehow Nature's Best is redirecting back to themselves through Maxx. Maxx are in the process of tracking the information back to find out how to stop this.

When I phoned the 800 number to Nature's Best again to let them know that the jig is up, they had very conveniently lost all of my account information. It's as if I never existed, but they sure as shootin' have my money, and I don't know if I can get it back. I will be filing an unauthorized charge with my bank to see if I can get the charge reversed.

DO NOT buy from this company. Report this company to the Attorney General's Office for fraud. Get this company off the internet, and get them to stop.

My credit card was also charged for the same amounts and for the same silly memberships that I knew nothing about in the first place. I called and inquired about the charges of which I never agreed and cancelled the membership so I thought, well another charge has appeared on my statement. I called about this charge and guess what, I was still in some membership I knew nothing about again. I am reporting this particular site to the BetterBusiness Bureau and Consumer Protection Agency, whomever will listen.

Moneies are still being taking out of my account, with no product every being sent by this fly by night companie, there is no webpage or a valid address. My bank act as if it is my responsiblitie to cancel something I never recieved with no account number. This is the first time I have ever order a trial on line and I will never, never do this again. FIT FACTORY MENTIONED HERE:

Natures ACAI Berry

Fraudulent Enrollment in additional services

Company information:
Fit Factory/ Costsmashers
Florida
United States
fitfactory.com

DO NOT order the "free" Natures Acai Berry supplement. Although they state that they will only charge you $4.95 for S&H and indeed you will receive a bottle of "acai berry, " you will also be plagued with having given a random company your credit card information. In addition, Nature's company will happily give your information to 2 other companies, Fit Factory and Cost Smashers, who will then enroll you in a "free 21-day trial" of their products. This is not mentioned on the Nature Acai Berry website, not even in the fine print. Lesson #1: You are better off physically walking into a store and purchasing this supplement rather than giving out your credit card information to random third parties. It may cost a little more initially, but the money you will save on not being involved in this scam is huge! And by the way, the acai berry supplement contains mainly Chromium at 63% of the total capsule, in addition to, Green Tee Extract of 225mg, CAFFIENE of 135mg (very healthy for you...sense the sarcasm?), Acai extract of a mere 50mg, and finally L-theanine of 8mg. I am a physician and I have never heard of L-theanine in my career, so the ingredients are likely a farse.

After more than 45 minutes on the phone with the representative at [protected] to cancel Fit Factory and Cost Smashers, I was given 2 confirmation codes; one for each company. After attempting to get the rep to agree to send a written letter of confirmation to my home address, she insisted that I give her my email address. I asked her, "You sent me two emails already enrolling me in your product line and you are telling me that you do not have my email address in your system already?" She beat around the bush for many minutes and I refused to give out my email address, since they already have my physical address, b/c she made me verify it upon answering the phone. I then asked for a physical address for the companies and she again beat around the bush with me and acted like she was typing something, which sounded like it must have been a novel for all the typing she was doing! Again I asked for a physical address and she answered with, "Ok, I am just sending you a confirmation to your email address." Now all of a sudden she had my email address on file and was sending me a confirmation. Again I went back to the question, "Can you please give me the physical address of these companies, " and this time she said hold please and immediately placed me on hold. I thought this was the end of the call and that I would be dropped shortly. However, she came back on the phone and gave me this address: 2620 South Maryland Parkway Las Vegas NV, and no zip code. Then I asked if she was physically located at this address in a call center or the like and she responded, "No, I am in the Phillipines." Super, I thought.

In the background during my phone call I heard people coughing and sneezing, I heard loud noises like heavy machinery in addition to many other bizarre noises. At American call centers, from having worked for Sprint Telecommunications years ago, the headsets they use filter out that type of background noise and also the cubicles are set up to ensure that other noises do not interfere with the call. Why do I address this issue? Because this clearly indicated to me that this girl, who probably has no idea who she is working for, is in some factory or sitting in her "house" answering calls for $2/hr from some company in the States that doesn't even physically exist!

I was infuriated, to say the least, that some company would distribute my information without a disclaimer regarding it on their website. However, I realize now how ignorant and naive I was to actually have believed that I could safely order a supplement online from a website that I now realize had no credentials. It wasn't like I went to walgreens.com or GNC.com or some other credible American company. Lesson #2: If you haven't head of the company before, and you cannot find any other information about them by Googling the name besides websites about it being a scam, chances are, its a scam!

I hope that my bad experience with these "companies" will at least be a testiment to others so that you do not fall for the same scam that I did. Please, please, for your own good, do not order Nature's Acai Berry unless you have the extra time to call your credit card company to request a new card with a new number, call Nature's and sit on the line for 30 mins before getting anyone to answer, and have the tolerance to put up with ignorant people.

Ordered a trial bottle of Slim365, canceled order unable to reach Team Fit at the phone number [protected]. When I do get through it says please hold and I get disconnected. Sent a cancelation e-mail 1/29. But did not receive a return e-mail until 2/12 and by that time they had already charged my credit card for $19.95. Attempted to dispute charges with credit card but since they did not send me cancelation until after my card was charged they could not do anything abou it. A word to the wise, if you do not have a real location instead of the web do not join anything! As it is I can not send a letter disputing my charge as they do not exist except in cyberspace.

ordered the free sample on line and paid the shipping and handling fee. A week later, there is a pending charge on my account for $79.96. Customer Service told me that after a 15 day trial, you are charged the full amount of the product because they send a full month supply instead of a 15 day supply. Did not want to refund my money until I called several times complaining and screaming at them. The did say they would refund my money and that it should be in my account in 10 days. We will see. So much for two bottles of pills and a total cost of $10.00. I have called both places and have received cancellation numbers but, I cannot get my money refunded and I am worrried that my account will continue to have these debits accur in my account. signed up for a FREE sample of the Acai colon cleanse which said all I had to pay was $4.99 for shipping and handling. It said nothing about the real cost of the product or the time frame to test the FREE sample. We got the product and the $4.99 was deducted from our account. Two weeks later the amount of $79.96 was deducted from out account and when I kept calling the number appearing on my bank statement I kept getting disconnected. No where in the advertisement did it say anything about a amount of $79.96 being charged for the FREE sample or about returning the FREE sample if it didn't work (which it does not!). How can I go about getting my money back?

charges with no product

I purchased the trial of Natures Best Acai Berry. It took 12 days of the 14 day trial to arrive. I had no time to actually try the product properly but gave it the benefit of the doubt and decided to accept the 1st charge of $79.99 for a 1 month supply, that was on 2/23/09. I have never received...

Consumers Warned to Avoid 2 Supplement Sales Sites
BBB warns consumers of 2 companies that use Oprah, other celebrity names, to sell supplements
NEW YORK January 7, 2017

The BBB on Monday named Central Coast Nutraceuticals Inc. of Phoenix and FX Supplements of Arlington, Texas, as two companies that engage in misleading sales and marketing practices. At least part of the issue is their use of "negative option marketing" techniques that require customers to cancel recurring orders or membership in ongoing programs they may or may not be aware they've signed up for. BBB said it received numerous complaints from consumers who found it difficult to cancel the orders, and were often charged multiple times.

BBB also criticized the companies for using what appear to be endorsements from Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Ray and other celebrities for their products to lure customers in. "They knew they had a gold mine here by using Oprah's name, " said BBB spokeswoman Alison Preszler-Southwick.

Both Web sites feature photos of and comments made by Winfrey and others regarding the reported health benefits of acai (pronounced AH-sigh-ee), along with identical photo montages of other stars who have purportedly used acai to boost their diets. While neither site specifically claims endorsement of their products, the BBB said the tactic misled consumers who thought the products were getting the nod of approval from their favorite stars.

This is a complete SCAM! I was charged $77 and I did NOT Authorize it. Does anyone know how I can contact someone from Nature's Acai to cancel? I can't get the customer service number to work.

This company should have to pay all of us back! It is such a horrible scam!

Natures Best Acai Berry

I also was dazzled by the free trial of Natures Best Acai Berry Supplement for $4.99. I ordered that and the supposed cleanser, not what I expected. No where on the acai berry order site was there a phone number or a name of the company supplying the product or any stipulations. Just an annoying, pushy lady talking the whole time. I assumed that there would be information on cancelling your order when the supplement arrived. The cleanser arrived first about a week after the order was placed. An information sheet was enclosed stating that I would be charged $64.90 if I didn't cancel and return the product. I immediatly did. The acai berry did not come until another week and half, in a white plastic envelope with nothing other than the product and a shipping sheet. There is nothing on the shipping sheet saying the need to cancel or even how much I paid for shipping. When you call the customer service number [protected] no one answers. The phone doesn't even ring and goes right to a recorded message saying all customer representatives are busy, please hold and the same music plays every time. My checking account has a $29.95 charge pending from a lifstylefitness.com site. My bank cannot stop it because it is already pending. When you search this site you get a gym in Canada. I called the phone number and talked to a very nice lady who took my info because she too is being scammed. This company is using their business name but removing the e in life. I have tried every number that I could find relating to this company. These numbers are either numbers for motels in Florida, message banks are too full or they are not connected to the product. When searching the following addresses: 5425 E Broadway Rd. #282 Tucson, AZ 85711, 20100 S. Vermont Ave. Torrance, CA 90502, or 305 W. Broadway, New York, NY 10031, they come up as other businesses, no such address, and the one in Tucson comes up as another fake internet business called Cashmasters.com. I am apparently being charged $29.95 for Diets Central and $2.95 for Cost Wave every month. I have know idea what these are. I think that people in this world are just sick for scamming people especially at times like this. I have spent more time on this problem and have alerted my local news stations about this scam.

Natures Acai Bery
Lori A

Ordered the "free" trial offer and suddenly I am being charged 79.96 and then another 85.91. These charges overdraft my account and incurred additional 30.00 each. I want my money put back into my account and also the overdraft charges these unauthorized charges incurred. Remove my name and credit card number from your business list. If there are any further charges from you company, I will be seeking legal advise. I am totally and completely dissatisfied with you company

Multiple charges began coming out of my account 15 days from a 30 day free trial offer. I called 16 days after ordering free trial and they refused to credit my account the $79.96. I called and emailed them again and they again refused to refund this charge. I threatened law suite for misleading information on their label and they agreed to a refund. Each tablet has 200 mg of caffiene. Their recommended doseage would be 400 mg of caffiene a day by lunch time. This is equal to about 4 cups of coffee (the label states one cup of coffee.) For someone who's heart is sensitive to stimulants, this can cause heart arrhythmias and possibly trigger an acute myocardial infarction. You may be making an expensive trip to the ER if you use this product
