H&R Block / HRB Digital worst tax service ever received

February through June of 2016

I submit quarterly taxes. In February I had my taxes prepared in the White Oak office of Silver Spring. They were completely unprofessional and distracted. They answered phone calls while doing my taxes. The Internet was down so they asked people to just wait and didn't update people. I had to reschedule and go back more than once due to that problem alone.

THEN the real problems began. I was told that I would be getting a large refund that I was going to use to pay for my quarterly taxes for the year of 2016. They gave me an estimated quarterly federal and state tax amount. In April I received a letter from the IRS basically indicating that I owed an additional $55, 000 to what I already paid for the quarterly year of 2013. In essence about $80, 000. I promptly went to another H&R block office. I was told that I could get help as I purchased the Piece of Mind Plan - oh by the way the cost for my appointment for this crap job was almost $500. So ofcourse I can't be helped by the initial people that prepared my taxes.

I had to redo my taxes, pay an additional $50, 000; have a MUCH larger than anticipated quarterly payment compared to what I thought in February. So then had to pay my first quarterly in April and then in June which came to $80, 000 in two months because of the overlap and mistake.

On top of that NOW I start the "Peace of Mind" process which is NO Peace of Mind. It was submitted, no one knew how long it would take. On May 23rd I get an email saying it was approved and I would get a check in 7 to 10 business days. 10 Business days roll around and I call being told I will get a call back in 3 to 5 business days. Three to 5 business days JUST for a response to the status of a check I should have already received because my taxes were SO botched up. I don't get a call so I call again and am told to wait til the end of the week. Then I get a call saying that they want to speak to me and an email saying I "missed their call" when they left a message pretty much before they closed. I called the next day and they say... a new check was released and I should wait ANOTHER 7 to 10 business days. I still have not received it.

At this point I will NEVER return to H&R block and do not think any one else should!

I'm glad you're not, and I wish potential first timers wouldn't either. Right now, they're living on people's uneducatedness, more than anything else. That's how when you first start, they teach you sales, or as I like to call it, how ti manipulate people's dollars to put pennies in your pocket. Secretaries and employees were unprofessional at best and got aggravated to actually have to do work! And internet would go down frequently. Usually because the "Tech" people would clumsily unplug or misplug something somewhere. Very embarrassing and annoying. Well, I hope you're going somewhere different. As in another tax program online, or if possible, VITA, IRS sponsored free tax prep. Filing status max before disqualified from VITA Single $20, 000 all others $50, 000. I hope you'll not have another experience like this again.

H&R Block / HRB Digital service paid for but tax forms never sent in

I went to have my taxes done with H and R Block in March 2016. A few weeks later I realized I hadn't used a large receipt for my Medical expenses that would have made a huge difference. I went back to the same office and paid for a revision (which I think should be free with the outrageous fee they charge initially) and expected it to have been sent in. This date was April 4th 2016. I was told it takes 4-6 weeks to be processed by Revenue Canada. In June I received a bill from Revenue Canada...the revision was not on there. I called the office I had used but it was just a "pop up" office and was no longer open. I then called the office that is supposed to be the main one for my area. They had no idea what was going on with my file, nor did they have it. I was told they would request the file to be sent to them and I would hear back in a few days. Three weeks later, I called them and was very upset at not hearing anything. They still did not have my file and would again call me back. I informed them that if I did not hear from them later that day with some sort of information that I would be calling head office. I did not hear from them. Two days later I called head office and they said they had opened a file for this complaint and would have it looked in to in the next 2 business days. A week later I had not heard anything and I called head office again. They said the same thing, a few more days. I then started to get calls from the previous office who I did not want to deal with again. I called head office again and let them know this, now a Territory manager was supposed to call me. To this date no one had contacted me and it has been over a week again. This company had THE worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My taxes have still not been sent in and I did file on time. According to the government though, I didn't sent the revision on time. I am paying interest on a balance that is not correct, it should be half of what it is. I paid for a service which was never completed. The purpose of going to a company to file your taxes is to have peace of mind that it will be complete and filed and end of story. I will never recommend H and R Block to anyone EVER! I will keep pursuing this until I get my money back, interest paid for and my taxes are filed correctly and have a apology for such horrible service.

I mentioned it before, but it's two tier, one hidden: the first is public. You pay and it shows it was sent. That makes customer happy and go away. But it only goes to a clearinghouse each site has. Ours was in the back room. Any one employee could access it. That one is where we could truly send it. That was for validation purposes or as a safe space if IRS wasn't accepting returns at the moment. But H&R Block being who it is, that's where we would keep returns languishing, a good part of the time forgotten. Sometimes for petty reasons, sometimes just plain apathy for people's returns after we get money from them. Be glad you didn't get accuse of fraudulent EIC charges, like claiming kids you didn't have. Which my ex-employees would do to get them in legal trouble to the point the victim now may get jail time or bad press if it was a slow news day. Oh, and don't hold your breath. It's policy never to admit mistakes. Anything that'll cost the company one penny will be protected by the sleaziest ways imaginable. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Just count your blessings it wasn't worse, and that you're either using a tax program online or VITA, FIling Status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000 to qualify. Hope you have better times ahead.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax preparation

I went in to file my 2015 taxes in march, the tax prep that helped filed my taxes wrong, i didnt find out till i relized i haven't received my check. I called the irs n they told me they couldn't find my information. Then i re submit it n they tell me it was the wrong way to file. I go back to where they prepared my taxes and they refuse to give me an answer. Customer service keeps saying they call back n never do. When i finally hear from them they say they will not refund my money back, i am going to continue to presue this until i receive my money back.

Yeah. 100% what I worked with where I was at. I'm sorry you went through that. All that I can say are two things: 1, use a very reputable tax program. 2. Use VITA, the IRS sponsored free tax clinic. Filing status single: $20, 000, all others: $50, 000. Hope you have better luck this year.

It took over two hours to complete and was mailed same day.On may 4 2016 i noticed that she didn't include my request for direct deposit, i called to issue a complaint to at least get my fee returned for such another mess up for which they told me that it would be mailed now something i really don't trust case # 1245715 to which i would receive a call in 7-10 bus. Days which would have been may 18 . I never received a call. May 25 2016 it was returned again stating they needed a letter from my landlord of rent paid, address, phone# and landlord signture. I called the patrica showman at the office and # is disconnected and closed. So i called mo dept of revenue got their fax # and fax may 26 2016 . That's sad. Just by reading your title, it said all I needed to know without reading it. Because it would be a rehashment of what I left this gulag of a job for. Hopefully, you'll use either a reputable tax program, go to VITA (IRS Sponsored, Filing Status SIngle $20, 000 all others $50, 000), or find someone competent and reasonably priced. Good luck this year and hope it goes better than when this incident happened.

H&R Block / HRB Digital employee in slatersville, ri

I am extremely frustrated with how my taxes were prepared! An employee from Slatersville, RI did my taxes for me, don't remember exact date. I was told the she would mail them out. I have been checking for refund status on IRS and on RI. I keep getting no record found. Supposedly they were mailed on mid-late February. I spoke with her and she said oh I'm sorry I never mailed them. I will mail them today, which was about 2 weeks ago. Still no record found when I search for where's my refund. Now, seeing this has happened I can no longer receive my refund for RI renters! That's $300.00 that I am out! Because of Jennifer Merchant. Which is the manager of that location? It must be nice to mess with people's information and not even care. I am on a very fixed and tight budget, seeing I mainly, received SSDI for the year. I only worked for 3 weeks bout of the whole year! Must be great to vacation as you please while others are struggling to survive and the customer suffers because of an incompetent employee. I will never use H& R Block ever again and I will never recommend H&R Block to anyone! She also screwed me when at the end of your return you sign and preparer is supposed to sign. She never signed my paper. She typed in. Self Prepared. I don't even have a clue as to how to do the paperwork. Also the paperwork is only for IRS, there is nothing in my paperwork for the state of RI. So ya I am not happy at all. She cost me $300! Who's money is she using for her vacation to Jamaica? Which taxpayer? I'm all done with H&R Block and Jennifer Merchant!

Yeah, I'm sorry you were the victim of the usual gyp you out of your dollars to earn your preparers pennies in their pocket. It's a nasty combination of uneducation and greed plus time-pressure and people with your problems come out in droves. It's saddening to see, and I hope you don't go through it again. Use either a reputable online tax program, or VITA, an IRS sponsored clinic that does free tax returns if you have filing status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, or a reasonable priced individual. Hope you have a better year now.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax service/advice

H & R Block Inc., U.S Headquarters
1000 Alameda St. Ste 120
Norman, OK 73071

To Whom It May Concern:

We tried to contact H and R block through the Better Business Bureau on April 6, 2016 but did not receive a reply. We are now contacting the CFPB for help with our complaint.

We are writing to complain about the lack of basic tax knowledge of one your senior tax advisor’s.

We went to the H & R Block located at 211 N. Euclid, Suite C, Fullerton, CA 92832. We met with Ronald Glassman, Senior Tax Advisor 1. He claims over 10 years of experience.

Our issue with Ronald Glassman is his inability to give us basic tax advice. We have been filing our own taxes for years. We came to H&R Block to get advice on what we could do to not have to pay taxes in the future and instead get a refund. Ronald Glassman asked what we were claiming and we told him “one and married.” His reply was “I have no idea, you should get money back.” We then had to spend hours of our own time researching to solve what ended up being a very simple solution, something Ronald Glassman should have been able to advise us on. Ronald Glassman also failed to fill out the tax forms correctly after we had already sent our payment to the government. This resulted in us having to take time to go back to his office, resign paper work and now we have to wait for the government to send us a refund.

To have a senior tax advisor unable to advise us on our taxes and charge us $412 is tantamount to theft. We would like to have our money refunded.

I'll be the concerned, as much as I can help. First, titles mean nothing. I came in fresh, albeit with a degree in accounting, and was doing taxes supposed to be at advanced level preparers, judged solely on your H&R Block title you take tests for. That's because of how the commission structure and the anti-ethic environment is built. To do what you say would mean preparers would lose money, ergo the company losing money and would close down. So just throwing them through slapshod and reckless is now acceptable, regardless of how many complaints are submitted anywhere. I really wish that class actions would start to be taken by these attorneys general. But I hope you're going somewhere different, anywhere that's not H&R Block, but also avoid Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax Services. VITA is ideal, the IRS Sponsored tax clinic doing taxes for free. As long as you meet filing status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, you can go get them done. Hope your year goes alot better. Don't give up the fight.

H&R Block / HRB Digital bad tax consultants

Went to one office to make sure I had the correct paperwork for a house sale. There was only on consultant in the office and she stated she knew nothing about real estate. She took my name and number and I was told someone would get back to me in the afternoon. No phone call. The next day I went to another HR Block office and the office manager said she could help me, so I made an appointment the next day. When I went in for the appointment and started talking to the consultant she stated she did not know anything relating to farm issues. She stated we were not a rural community. We are a small town go any direction and you hit a farm 10 minutes from downtown. So I got sent to a third consultant who states I can not use credits or deductions and that the HR Block consultant last year did my taxes wrong. After I went home to gather more paperwork and returned and pushed for the credits then the consultant stated that yes I could use the deductions/credits. I went from owing a big chunk of money to actually getting money back. These are supposed to be professionals (even though they could not do the basics). I would expect for the high $500 that I was charge they would be able to help and I would not have to see multiple people.

Again, your title summarizes it all. Because you said real estate, it would be too complex for VITA. So for you, a reasonable priced expert would help you. Hope your year goes great.

H&R Block / HRB Digital plymouth wi office

I purchased your software for my home PC and I had a few questions, I know Roberta from the office in Plymouth, Wisconsin and I went there to ask her questions, She was busy and the other gal Kathy tried to get me to go to her. Well I know Roberta and I know Kathy and I do not want Kathy to have my information so I said I would wait for Roberta to finish the person she was with. As i was waiting kathy told Roberta i was there, and robertsa told me she would be awhile. I said it was fine. I can wait. I was not making any noise what so ever i was staring at the poster of the man with the bow tie not even in the direction of the staff or clients. I was staring at the poster noticing one side has a kind eye and the other not so kind, and found it odd. but then I was looking at the poster and doing some figures in my head, not making a single noise when kathy approached me and i felt i had to leave the building, she was forceful and stated i can tell you when to come back. (No she can not tell me when to come back, this was a one time only shot. (Well I drove over 60 miles to speak at Roberta a person i trusted, but was tossed out of the office in an unkind manner. (Other places allow you to wait, what is the issue? I was wrongly treated, and I am not going to use H & R Block again EVER. I know these people and there was only one client in the office. I made NO noise NONE. I was minding my own business. To be expelled from waiting, how rude. I purchased your software but I still have a question. one that will never be answered due to the treatment of being forced out of the office. I will go to some other place that does not mind if I wait in the office to get a couple of questions answered. How horrible i was treaed and felt. I did nothing to deserve that. NOTHING

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax preparation and service

Went into have our taxes done in feb 2016, it took 2.5 hours for simple taxes..
Went back and picked them up with being told we had a refund coming. We paid $278.00 on feb 20, 2016.. march 10 we recieved a letter from IRS stating we owed $1800.00 due to miscalculation on form 8962 to the 1040. Went back to the H R office and showed the letter to them to be told to call the IRS and figure out the problem.. You advertise that you will help then this is how you help? Went back in for another associate to attempt with him repeating several times that he didnt understand what she did. I then explained that i didnt have the form that the IRS was even saying the mistake was on, which he replied "We dont copy all the forms." After attempting to call the IRS ourselves and being on the phone 4 hours, went back to the office with it being closed, at 3:00 on a wed!
I feel we should be refunded the fee of having our taxes done, , due the fact that we had to take them to a CPA and have them redone to figure out their mistakes! Also due to the penalties we will owe to the IRS and the CPA for redoing them! This office is in webster city iowa..

Yeah, your time there is accurate. I stopped doing all that since the majority of it was sales pitches I really didn't want to do, especially peace of mind, which was an implicit assessment of lack of knowledge on my part. The rest was usually rebootable errors, taking 10 minutes or more, because our in-house tax software was as crappy as a cut rate, malware infested tax software. I only managed to get it down to 1 hour though. Embarrassing. The company actually gets in the way of your own work. Well, I hope you go somewhere different, and you use either a tax program or IRS VITA. FIling Status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000. Have a happy new year.

As it is with this complaint area, all I have to do is read the title to respond. This is extremely regrettable to say, but it is still true nonetheless. For a usual 1040, it's BASE price was $250. Kicker, it may be higher now. All total including state and if you have a refund, no other products yet, it's close to $400. And yes, boilerplate, all they'll take is your money, after that you'll be treated hostilly, just like a mugger, except they do it legally and no violence. Hope you're using something else. Hopefully IRS VITA. SIngle status $20, 000, all others $50, 000. And tax programs that are reputable. I hope your year goes better now.

H&R Block / HRB Digital refer a friend

I have used HR Block since 2003 to do my taxes and never seem to have any problems however I referred a friend to use HR Block because her previous tax person charged her 300.00 to do a short form.
I knew it would be less expensive for her to use HR Block. When I made the appointment for my friend I was informed on what paperwork she would need to bring with her and last year taxes return was one she had to bring. I asked why and was told that HR would look them over to see is perhaps something was missed .
My friend that I referred went for her appointment and it was a nightmare for her. First she tried to claim her uniforms that she must have for work and she was told she couldn't claim it because she had to have spent at least 6000.00 in uniforms which I thought was not correct.
Than her last year taxes were never looked at and than she was told since she purchased health insurance through the Affordable act that she had to pay 775.00 to Federal because the Affordable Act was paying a portion of her health insurance premium. This was very difficult to believe since it is extremely unlikely that the government ever pays more than they have to ..

My frustration with this is my friend only makes 9.50 an hour and she rents a apartment and she always received a refund from the IRS and never had to pay Federal. Nothing had changed from the prior year to this year except HR Block said she owed.
Needless to say because of this nightmare my friend went through we are no longer good friends.. I had this friend for 20+ years and now it is over due to me referring her to HR Block...
UNBELIEVABLE.

You're not gonna like what I'm going to say, but with all that's happened, I hope it doesn't hurt all that much. First, I had at least 2 friends who wanted to be my clients through Block. Oh, did I nearly lose their friendship by lambasting them so fiercely with what I witnessed there and getting, in essence, 0% of the gains from the overprice, thereby victimizing both parties (me and my friends). I did it or free or a huuuuge reduction in price. Because I knew because of their corruption mixed in with ineptness, that only enemies being sent here would make it common sense. With what you said, only someone that ill informed would actually think H&R Block was cheaper than the other person your ex friend went to. And keeping with honesty, having me go through that, I'd immediately break my friendship with you, too. In fact, I'd go further and declare you as an enemy. Me, I don't do friend as if they're collectibles. I've seen the havoc it pulled on the popular kids in school and determined that is not what I want. As I got older, I then further decided that since my life has a high level of suffering in it now, those who add to it willingly or had lacked the mental capacity to ascertain what they were doing was harmful to me, usually way more emotionally than physically, regardless of what they've done for me, I'd ditch them. Life's too short to have people close to you add on. So while you may not be good friends with this person now, at least you still talk, I hope. I cut off all contact and will avoid or will get out of a conversation with an offender ASAP. So I hope you learn from this painful lesson to do your research besides just what you experience when you're going to do something like this again. If your friend is important to you, this should be nothing. Have a happy new year, and I deeply apologize if it seemed like salt-rubbing the wound. This is not my intent, but to highlight what should be learned from this painful moment.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax preparation charges

My wife and I did our taxes at H&R block and we were ripped off!

On my wife return, she was suppose to be refunded $2049 and only $1379 was deposited into her account. $670 was stolen from her refund! The preparation charge was suppose to be only $50, instead the charge her $670

On my return, I was suppose to be refunded $ 2706 and only $2036 was deposited into my account. H&R block also overcharged me $ 670, which was suppose to be only $50. My hard, blood and sweat money, the stole from us!

We want all our money back from H&R block

Oh, I have a feeling you're DEFINITELY not going to like this. Here goes: 1, the price they charged you was correct. And 2, you aren't seeing a DIME of it back. They're like legalized muggers: Important until they take your money, then discard you and leave you victimized. And for #1, when I say right, it doesn't mean I agree with the price, which is why I'm doing this and also volunteer my time sometimes for completing people's taxes to reduce the number of victims like you as much as humanly possible. Next time, either go to VITA, an IRS Sponsored free tax preparation clinic (Single filing status $20, 000, all others $50, 000), or find a reputable person or tax program for way less money than Block charges. H&R Block / HRB Digital tax preparer

My name is Jim Cooper, As always I file at the Valley Springs store. This year I had a different preparer. He was a older gentleman, that seemed very confused from the start. He made multiple mistakes and had to go back and correct them as he went.
I told him that my wife and I had separated September 2015 and the divorce was final July 2015. The courts awarded me the house and I was responsible for the taxes. When we were done he electronically filed for my refund and said take the hard copy and have my ex wife sign and return them back to h&r block. In meantime I received my tax return, and my ex wife refuses to sign. So I went back to h&r Block only to find out that my HIRED PROFESSIONAL CERTIFED TAX PREPARER FILED MARRIED JOINTLY ! AND I NOW HAVE TO GIVE BACK HALF OF WHAT I RECIEVED! REALLY? I DEMAND ! my monies back from H&R Block and will NEVER use them again !

Yeah. Usually titles there mean nothing about tax experience, not even length of tenure there. As a rule of thumb, the good ones, as in people like me, usually leave within the first year because of the Chernobyl level of toxicity of ethicslessness and illegalities. I'm sorry you went through that. I hope that you qualify for VITA, an IRS sponsored free tax prep with competent people like me completing taxes, and WAAAAAY more knowledgeable than anyone at Block ever could hope or attain to be. Filing status single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, or use a reputable online tax program as good substitutes to complete your taxes to pay as little preparation as possible yet have an accurate return. Have a happy new year.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax

I've been trying to get my $400.00 owed me. I decided to try their e card offer which never came thru for me. They did try to resend several times, but to no avail. After that they told me they would send me check for the proceeds. Which has been several weeks ago. I feel like they don't know what they are doing and have lost something. So at this point all I can do is keep bugging them until something good happens. They are not trying to deny that I'm owed this money.

Yeah. They don't know what they're doing. At ALL. The only thing they're experts in is finding ways to legally steal as much of your money as possible and leave you with no recourse, as if you were just food they bought, consumed, and threw out the refuse. Sorry that you went through such an unfortunate situation. Next time, please use VITA, an IRS sponsored free tax preparation clinic $20, 000 single all others $50, 000, or a reputable tax program. Hope this helps. Have a happy new year regardless.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax prep

Called 3 times in order to get pricing in tax preparation. I received 3 different answers. I was told it wouldn't be over $200. It ended up being $420. I'd understand the high pricing had the service been excellent, but that was far from the case. I asked several questions and was lucky if I received a clear answer. I feel so ripped off and unconfident in the validity of my return. They messed up my return in 2013 and gave them another chance. I will never go back here again.

Ahh, yes. This one. Brings back memories. None of them good, by the way. When I gave prices, it was from a good few years ago. But we were, tax professionals, prevented from seeing how the prices would roll out, despite the fact we charge on a form basis. The ones I knew, I knew from memory because of their ridiculously high amount for such a simple form that can be filled out by hand in 5 minutes. But still, what they told you again was a lie in order to fleece you of your money and then automatically ignore your comments afterward. Unless you were unlucky enough to earn their ire, at which point we would purposely screw up your taxes to the point, if you got one of the preparers angry enough, you not only wouldn't qualify for EIC again, but may get visited by law enforcement. Use VITA, the IRS Sponsored free tax clinic. Look them up online. Single filing status $20, 000, all others $50, 000. Or use a reputable tax program online or find someone who does it accurate and honest, and charges a reasonable price. SOrry for what you went through. Hapy new year, regardless.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax software

On 12/31/15, I purchased H&R Block's Premier and Business Tax software. After approximately 6 weeks of trying to get it to load and work properly, I requested a full refund from H&R Block in accordance with their customer satisfaction policy.

By the middle of March, after not hearing anything about the status of my refund, I called the company to inquire. They apologized and told me that they would immediately process the $74.19 refund. I then received an e-mail stating additional information was needed, and I provided it via e-mail.

As of yesterday (4/8/16), the company still refuses to confirm that my refund will be processed, and they have closed my file. I will be contacting my credit card company to initiate a chargeback and contact the PA Attorney General's Office for further action. AVOID WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

Yep. Sleazy and scammy till the bitter end. They are just like politicians. Use all these promises, bold faced and out there, then immediately go back on them using the flimsiest of excuses and blatant ignorance of their own decency. Hopefully, now you'll use a tax program, a reputable person charging a price reasonable for you, or use VITA, IRS Sponsored tax clinic to get your taxes done free if, for the biggest among many qualifiers, you have income below: Filing status Single $20, 000, all others $50, 000. I hope this experience made you wary of just about anybody. Which is a good thing, because the more wary one is, the more the company has to prove themselves, making it beneficial to all who have credibility and forthrightness.

H&R Block / HRB Digital tax preparation

Last year a friend and I went to H and R block to have our taxes prepared. I did not receive my state refund plus was told I would not receive a federal return. I come to find out today 4/7/2016, that my taxes were not filed and I paid 328 dollars out of pocket that has not been refunded to me. My friend also had his taxes prepared by the same preparer, and I was under the impression if you do not receive a refund, there would be no charge. Come to find out after he was taxed to pay over 8000 dollars, the preparer may have prepared his taxes incorrectly. Is there any compensation for either of us? or are both of us out of money, time and mind for choosing H and R block for preparing our 2014 taxes. This year I prepared both of our taxes using turbo tax and both will be receiving a refund. I will for now on prepare our taxes. No more fraudulent companies for us.

Number 1, yes, 100 percent to the Nth exponent you're both out of money. Again, their model is crafted to only care about the money, almost like a legalized mugging scheme. Second, you guys are lucky it wasn't more, as in using that clearinghouse computer to screw with your taxes to the point the cops are called to your place to arrest you for major fraud. That can realistically happen. Hopefully, you'll use a reputable tax program, a reputable person charging a reasonable price, or use VITA, IRS Sponsored place where if you fall under Filing Status Single $20, 000, all others $50, 000, you can get your taxes filed free. Remember this and have a better year than the year where this unconscionable incident happened.

H&R Block / HRB Digital office lost all of our tax documentation

My husband and I went to file our taxes and realized we were missing some information about our cross-country move and one of my W-2 forms from the other state, also Leah who was doing our return did not know what one of the numbers was on my husband's W-2 so we needed to inquire about that from his employer. We filed most of the information but said we would drop off the rest of the information soon. I came back a week or two later and left my packet including all of my W-2 forms, all of my receipts, and the previous year's taxes. I did not hear from Leah so I called the next week to ask if she had received our documents. She told me yes she did and had left me a message saying so. I told her I had not received any message from her. We came in a week or two later to finalize and submit our taxes. Leah was not there and the woman helping us said she could not find any of our documentation but that Leah would come in early the following day to double check and call us back, we confirmed that they had the correct number to reach me at. I did not hear back from her, two days later another employee called us to say that Leah could not find the information and claimed that we had taken everything with us and further that she would be out of the country until March 31 and no one else could help us in the mean time. I then called the H & R block's main line and a case was started. I was called a week later and told the original person working on my case was no longer working with them and a new person was handling my case. I was very angry by this point, the woman handling my case referred to me continually by "Miss" and my first name which I also found very disrespectful. She told me she had spoken with the office manager and that we should come to a final resolution and that we would not have to pay for our tax preparation, which I found satisfactory. My husband went to the office immediately and was told we could have $50 off of the preparation when he disagreed they called the main line again and he was told there were no notes in our file. I have not been contacted a single time by the office handling our return. Even the main line has only contacted me once, the regional manager has finally been contacted he did call me immediately and claims that we will have a resolution by Monday, but taxes are due next week. We started this whole process over two months ago. I can say I will never use them again and would actively discourage anyone else from using. Not just for loosing our information but more so for the lack of follow through we have received from H&R block and the inability to come to a resolution in a timely manner.

H&R Block / HRB Digital peace of mind

I paid for peace of mind last year while doing my taxes. The tax officer made a mistake and IRS took 489$ from my returns due to this mistake. I have been going over and over to the local office and calling the peace of mind customer service but no one has helped me get my money back. The office manager at the local office said that she filed a claim on my behalf but I found out that this was a lie since the support office said there was no claim under my name or social security number. It has now been a year since I got the letter from IRS but the offices of H&R Block does not do anything but just says 'very sweetly' that they are on my case. This office has let me down very badly. I warn all to be aware of this fraud called 'peace of mind'. I have yet to get back my money and the manager is not in the office.

I received a notice from the State Tax Board stating I owe them money for a mistake on my taxes from 2018.

I called HRBlock and they told me that if I wanted to get help from them I would have to pay 99 dollars (Peace of Mind) to have them liason with State Tax Board.

I went to an HRBlock near me and talked to a "tax consultant" there. She told me I had not paid for "peace of mind" at the time I had my taxes done 5 years ago. She also said HRBlock had had issues with it's tax program. I paid 99 dollars to that office to figure out what went wrong. The consultant had no idea where the mistaken number (1000 something) had come from. She also stated that they could not liason with the state tax board, that information was in error.

She submitted my claim but the review office sent it back saying they would pay 34 dollars out of 300.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY...THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORD AND THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU.

My daughter went in and had her taxes done for the first time this year. She has never had to file before, the lady did her taxes and found out she owed money. Instead of explaining options to my daughter (who is 24) she looks at her and says I am going to call your mother. Ok! She calls me and says your daughter owes money what do you want me to do. I told...
