Home Depot home depot scammed me

I purchased a roof for my home from Home Depot in April 2011 and have been fighting since to have it properly installed. I paid with my Home Depot credit card. During one of my many calls to the customer service department, I was asked if I wanted to dispute the charge. I agreed it was worth disputing and that my roof (still to this day) is not satisfactorily installed. The dispute was opened on May 9th, 2012.

The dispute was finalized in my favor and $12, 110.00 was provisionally credited to my account on September 9th, 2012 with a note that if further “significant evidence” was found that the amount would be reapplied to my account. I called the customer service and asked what “significant evidence” would entail and how much more investigation would there be. I asked these questions as $12, 110.00 is a lot of money and with the initial letter opening the dispute claimed that the initial investigation could take up to 60 days, and by the time I received the letter stating that the charge had been reversed was 128 days, double what was quoted.

I was told that it was closed and no further investigation would be completed. However, around October 1st, 2012 I received a phone call from the Phoenix office asking if someone could come down and inspect the roof and make sure that everything was taken care of. On October 6th, 2012 a gentleman came down to my house and instead of getting out a ladder to get on the roof, he pulled out some paperwork. He explained that this form was a copy of a previous form that I had signed and that the person who had the form in Atlanta “had died” and because they “had died, no one can find the paperwork that was originally signed”.

Reviewing the paperwork, I noted that the form was a Customer Service Order form and stated that the work to be completed was to fix some exposed nails, torn shingles, and repaint the metal trims and that those specific items were completed. It also states that the balance remaining was $0.00.

With the suspicious circumstances surrounding this, I asked the gentleman if this had anything to do with the disputed charge. I was told that it had nothing to do with the charges and that it was only replacing a lost form. I reluctantly signed the form, the gentleman never did go on top of the roof and he left. Several weeks later I received a letter dated October 18th stating that the $12, 110.00 has been reapplied to my account and that “Additional information has been received that provided significant evidence for the amount to be reapplied to your account”. Attached to the letter was a faxed copy of the form I signed on October 6th, 2012.

This was clearly a scam to trick me into signing a form stating that the roof had be satisfactorily completed in an attempt to defraud me of the amount that was returned to me. This is obviously a bait-and-switch, which is an illegal practice in the United States. I am writing for corrective action in returning the credit of $12, 110.00 back to my account. Home Depot cheated me out of a properly installed roof, and then scammed me into paying for it after the disputed charges were dropped from my account.

Permanently re-credit the $12, 110 back to my account, zeroing my balance.

At Helzberg Diamonds Jewelry Store : I worked for the company for a while, and what I've experienced there; harassment & discrimination: The District Manager is a ### (fired from J.B. Whites), who allows the store manager- to mistreat some customers and new employees. His staff are a group of unprofessional people who really know nothing about the Jewelry Business, except for lying to customers, messing up their purchase orders, being rude to customers who complain about the Helzberg unprofessional service. I wouldn't buy any jewelry from those clowns. They also harass & mistreat fellow co-workers, who are better jewelry salesmen than they are; the manager & his flunkies often violate the Helzberg Diamonds business policies when the District Manger isn't around to check up on them. One day, a co-worker yelled at me in front of a customer, just for greeting the customer first!

Home Depot citibank

Several months ago Citibank, the company that administers Home Depot's credit cards, decided to drop me (viz., cancel my card) because my overall credit score had dropped. They did so in spite of the fact I had never missed a payment to them, even though I used the card extensively while renovating a house. One day I tried to charge some paint, and the clerk informed me my account had been cancelled. Arguments with Citibank were, as you might suspect, fruitless: So sad, too bad, pay up, get lost. I was/am indeed in a precarious financial position, because of being laid off and diagnosed with cancer. But I had been practicing financial triage, making sure payments were up-to-date with important accounts and managing to make at least small payments on all of the rest. Home Depot was an important account, because I used it to maintain two very modest rental properties.

Bottom line: it doesn't matter. Citibank deems you a bad person, you're out. Period. Plus late charges and interest.

Home Depot racism job discrimination

Wrongful termination, dishonest & negligent managers, racism, & job discrimination based on race & sex: "That's The Home Depot Way!" Their crappy commercials don't tell customers about; overprice hardware & equipment they sell, lousy/incompetent associates who don't know jack about Home Improvement, horrible customer service (customers waiting to be attended for hours), huge employee turnovers, because of mistreatment or misconduct, and poor store managment. I stopped shopping there, and I would recommend to others to do the same!

Home Depot reviews censorship

This concerns their policy for filtering product reviews on their website. I purchased a toilet auger and it broke within 2 minutes o f careful use. They sell this cheap one for about $8 and a professional Ridgid model for about $35. After reviewing their policy for content I submitted a respectful, informative review with the sentiments I wished I had purchased the $35 tool as, I described above, it broke within 2 minutes and did not even do the job once. I described why I thought the tool was inferior and applauded the more expensive tool they also sold, to encourage potential customers to try that instead. The review concluded with the statement that many places sell such junk tools, and in my experience Home Depot did not normally engage in the practice of catering to the lowest denominator of selling such merchandise. Even that mildly critical comment which also can be seen as a compliment was fully within their content policy.
As you can predict from me filing a complaint, the review was rejected. I went to their site again as advised and there is no conceivable way it violated their policy. The review gave the product one star.
It could only have been rejected because it was one star or because of a vanity issue of criticism of their company. I'm not going to resubmit it as I'm not going to play games about gaming their stated policy when it fully complied with it.
The bigger issue here is how many critical reviews from reasonable people such as myself have been rejected? How can one make an informed purchase if they automatically reject informative but low rated reviews? It reeks of dishonesty and not an effort to keep reviews intelligent and courteous, and it makes me rethink the tens of thousands of dollars (literally) I have spent in the last several decades supporting their company. I will drive the extra five miles and try Lowe's for my next purchase just to spite them. This does not predict a good relationship between us in the future.

Home Depot unprofessionalism & lousy customer service

Don't shop here either! The home depot, in aiken, sc., is far worst than wal-mart & lowe's (On how they unfairly treat customers & employees) combined! Police reports filed against the company stated; from several employees (Mainly african-american), and customers - charging the home depot managers, of physical abuse, using racial slurs toward new-hires & customers, and wrongfully terminating good employees, lousy co-workers - encouraged to stay on, & company theft.. This is their true reputation, and the home depot headquarters are desperate to keep it under wraps. But now you know!

Home Depot NEVER mailed a billing for products purchased with THEIR credit card and I had forgotten about the billing even though I had gone paperless and was told that I would receive all billings online. I started receiving citicommerce calls anywhere from 8 to 10 times per day from 0800 to 2100 hours; sometimes after 2100 hours. I contacted Home Depot and was told to pay the bill that had been penalized from 44 dollars to 106 dollars. When I told them that I had NEVER received a billing I was completely ignored and was TOLD to pay the bill. I cut the card in half and returned it to home depot with a letter stating that I would NEVER purchase anything from them in the future: I paid the bill for the amount that was originally charged!

Dude I shop at home depot, pay with my debit card and I hate debt collectors! It's $12 bucks just pay it and get rid of it. It's a waste of time writing about $12 here. If it was 1200, 12, 000 bucks in fact I would be offering you advice. But jeeze. sometimes the devil gets just too much credit for cr@p he ain't doin but it's people upto no good! Anyway don't pay over the phone-request the bill, write a check and keep the proof of payment for life. otherwise another CA will pick it up and call you over it. There that must be worth more than the $12 you owe.

Home Depot credit card

A year ago I was making a small purchase in Home depot. The cashier asked if I would apply for a credit card. If approved I would get a discount. I filled out the brief application and was approved. Within 2 weeks I got my card and it came with a $3000 limit. Today I go in to make a $47 purchase because I am trying to do some small improvements, yet my purchase was denied. This I thought to be unusual. I have never been late for a payment, I did not even come close to exceeding my limit. I called their customer service (what a joke) and all they could tell me was that I had some issues with my previous credit. Those same issues were there when they issued me the card. I feel that Home Depot was afraid that I was going to go wild...not even in my wildest day. Home Depot suckered me in and they were quickly to push me out on a bogus credit issue. They were refusing to listen to what I had to say. It was all based upon the 3 major credit reporting agencies. Rest assured I will take my business down the street to Lowes.

In the last year Home Depot has raised the consumer credit card interest rate to 25.99%. This makes it nearly impossible for anyone to payoff there balance. I have always paid my bill on time and never been over limit. On several occasions they even increased my line amount to encourage further purchase. As soon as the rate was increased (and several times since) I have called and written the credit center to ask for a rate reduction only to be told no. This rate is very unfair and consumer unfriendly. Every month I continue to make my payments but I don;t seem to get anywhere when most of the payment is going towards finance chanrges.. It is a never ending cycle.

Home Depot deceitful pre-approval offer.

To whom it may concern,
I just received a Pre-Approval offer from Home Depot’s credit card department with a reservation number on the top. After thinking about accepting the offer, I decided to go ahead because I plan on doing some things around the house soon and it would be nice to have. So after going to the home depot’s website and entering the reservation number and other personal information, it told me I would be notified 5 to 7 days for a decision. What? I was already Pre-Approved I thought, I even had a reservation number. So I called the 1-800 number and I was told by the home depot’s customer representative it was not a Pre-Approval. I read to the representative what I received in the mail, and the home depot customer representative told me they were sorry but I’m not Pre-Approved, ” No one is”. So I asked why did home depot send me false advertisement stating I was Pre-Approved knowing that I’m not? The Home Depot Customer Service Representative laughed and told me that’s how we get your information sir; otherwise most people would not apply. Can you believe that? Not only did the home depot representative acknowledged that no one is ever Pre-Approved, but home depot also skirts around the law to get your personal information by stating you are Pre-Approved knowing you’re not. Is there anything that a company can’t get away with doing to customers? That is very disrespectful, deceitful and wrong. I will never shop at Hope Depot again, for “anything” and I will urge everyone I know to do the same. I will drive 5 miles out of my way just to avoid this company. Customers Beware………….

Hold up people, I did not post this complaint for other people to disrespect each other; I posted this complaint to make people aware of these kinds of deceitful practices that skirt around the law that Home Depot should not be affiliated with or do. Posting complaints is not an invitation for other people to insult someone just because they disagree. If you like Home Depot then fine but if you’re sick of the lies and poor customer service and want to post your unfortunate experience. Then this is what this site is for. Please don’t disrespect other people who already have had a bad experience with this company. Thank you.

You are only pre-approved to apply. Basically, you are a breathing customer and they want you to apply. This way, they have their marketing and advertising right there in your wallet. You always have that company logo on the card. And when you use it in other stores (provided it is not a store card but an actual visa/mastercard) their company name and logo are being flashed again to the cashier. It just reinforces the company brand name in the mind.

They don't have your information yet. No more than your name and address. Basically, your name got on a Home Depot mailing list, and every once in a while, they go through, pick out a particular demographic and send off these "pre-approved' letters.

Home Depot illegal background checks

I started working for estes specialized in June 2010 we did the flatbed deliveries for home depot . home depot started doing background checks on me in aug. 2010. they ran a total of 3 background checks. from Aug 2010 to Oct. 2011. All without my knowledge or permission to do so. When I got hired by estes they ran there necessary background and went back 10 years. they hired me and I worked for them for a year and a half. in Oct. 2011 home depot runs a third background check revealing a conviction from when I was 19 years old. They ran to estes and informed them and I was terminated after being hurt on the job. Home depot and estes participated in illegal actions and violated my FCRA rights. They never had permission and I am sure that because of there business practices there are alot more victims. I am looking to get a class action suit against them. Have you been screwed by either company?

Wow! there are people on here who will take the time to make an account with the same name and make ridiculous and false post about me. Someones got to much time on the hands, Father of triplets and Tasha the child molestation statement was made by someone with way to much time on there hands . If you click on my original post you will see my address information. when you click on the poster about child molestation you see different information. I have 5 kids and was glad to see that a Texas man was not charged for beating a child molester to death after he walked in and caught him raping his 4 year old daughter. I hope this is crystal clear.

Thank you so much for your comments, there is a ton of useful information there. I couldn't agree with you more on convictions haunting someone seemingly forever. I would like to say that I let a (friend) borrow my car while I was hanging out with my girlfriend he was 17 and i was 19. So he took my car broke into his girlfriends dad's and stole a gun and held up a fireworks stand. Here is where I got screwed because it was my car and he was a minor I was charged as an accessory even though I wasn't there or have anything to do with it other than owning the car. I got 5 years probation and he got a year in juvenile. Thank you legal system. I also find it interesting that I was making 40, 000.00 dollars a year and they were still given information about a 23 year old conviction. estes knew of the conviction in Oct. 2011 but did nothing until after I got hurt and filed a workers comp claim in dec. 2011. Thanks again for the information

I don't think you have a lot of traction to this and here's why: If you were fired for failing to disclose a criminal conviction on your employment application to the contractor that you were asked to disclose in the application it really does not matter how they found out about it later, the fact is you lied on the application in their view so the termination of employment was reasonable and lawful. Home Depot may have in fact illegally done a background check but you will have no basis for damages against them for doing so since again, the termination was lawful and reasonable.
Hope you've found better employment and I agree someone has way too much time on their hands. I hope they think it's funny they are merely causing the issue of child molestation to not be taken seriously, in fact with that in mind it's not out of the imagination that they are in fact the one who molests children. Trolls suck, the only thing to do is ignore them.
I voted neutral on the complaint because I think Home Depot's actions were wrong but not enough to validate the complaint. Hope that makes sense.

Home Depot solar lighting

I have come to realize that Hampton bay solar products are complete junk. I have 2 different sets of outdoor lighting, the ones you spike into the ground, anyways some work, one just blinks and 3 don't work at all. I tested the ni cad batteries, one was dead, one had .5 volts and one had 1.2 volts, I took a battery out of a good working unit and put it in the dead unit and it still doesn't work, and yes the switch is set to on. I took the other units with low or dead batteries and I am charging them on a separate charger as we speak. I don't have high hopes but I believe it's a problem with the charging circuit in the unit itself, and if that's the case then the unit is no good. You may notice the quality of these units, plastic spikes, bad idea. I wouldn't mind paying more for a reliable unit, maybe I need to skip the solar idea and just buy powered units. Does anyone know of any solar powered outdoor lights that are good? Thanks

Home Depot return policy

First they accepted a return and credited my debit card, after I walked away they voided the charge, the next customer in line saw this and found me. They finally gave me the refund, but only to a merchandise credit, I bought some items with that credit and when I tried to return the extra items left over, they refused the return, even though I had the receipt! POLICY IS ANYTHING BOUGHT WITH A MERCHANDISE CREDIT IS TREATED AS AN "UN-RECEIPTED RETURN", they also have a sign at thier RETURN counter that says they have the right to refuse any return, this is not listed on their web-site. BOYCOTT AND LET'S START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

I spoke to a supervisor who called himself Mr. Tim at [protected], he said "there is no one higher than him", he agrees that the policy on merchandise credits is not posted, but all I could do is write to the legal dept, who had no phone number or e-mail address available to him. They are arrogant and will do what they want even if the "right to refuse any return" was not posted at the return desk, Mr. Tim was quoting policy. I am stuck with their merchandise. There has got to be something wrong with that, or a class action lawsuit needs to be started to regulate these people. They are already a monopoly, where else can you buy a 2 by 4 and a water filter, Lowes only, not Ace hardware, not Walmart, not 84 lumber, should we sit back and let them get away with this?

Home Depot closed account

Home Depot closed my charge card with no notice, because a credit checking agency said my credit had changed. This after 12 years of no late payments, increases in credit limit, and no adverse anything. I have been unemployed for a year and I had one late payment (not Home Depot), but no other credit cards were discontinued. Off to Lowes.

Home Depot veterans 10% discount

I went shopping today and after almost an hour of choosing almost 600.00 of items, i went to the checkout as i was starting to pay i informed them of my veterans discount and showed them my id. I was informed that in Me. and Minnesota that we would have to go to customer service and fill out what appears to be an application and we would receive discount coupons in the mail. I refused and walked out without my items. I will only shop at Lowes where Vets are treated with respect. I will also start informing all Vets of Home Depots new way to disrespect, the men and women who have given so much.

It is about the same way in Albuquerque, NM you don't have to fill out any forms, but only a select group of vets get a discount, SHAME ON YOU HOME DEPOT! I am the same way, I only shop at Lowes where I get better service and all veterans are honored with a discount.

I agree that it is a pain to have to go through that process, but I hardly call that a lack of respect.

Home Depot customer service none

5/16 i purchased a maytag washing machine and was told next delivery was 6/2/2012.
While waiting i used a local laundrymat and have wondered why the long drug out delivery date?
My life changed and now 6/2 delivery date is not going to work for me.
i called the store left on hold 20 minutes only to find out nobody is available to speak to me.
I phoned the delivery dept and put on hold this time almost a 1/2 hour I HUNG UP.
I went back to the store appliance employee again put on hold eventually a live voice who lectured me on how they deliver appliances I HUNG UP.
Well i told her to SHUT UP and HUNG UP. Everytime i started to talk she interrupted me so I hung up.
I dont have time to be lectured after waiting 3 weeks for an appliance deliver and Home Depot doesnt have time to talk to customers.
I now plan to return the appliance. If i have to wait another week why bother to buy from Home Depot?

Speaking from first hand knowledge having worked for one of Home depot"s delivery contractors I can tell you next day is available. It will be delivered on the back of a 22ft. flatbed and left outside the residence, they have another service for installation although the times I delivered appliances if the costumer was ready to have it put in I would do that for them. Every delivery driver beside myself would pull up unload on the curb and roll on as the are paid a flat raid for delivery and the more time the spend the less money they feel they make. Knowing this and Having worked for Lowes as well the first thing I tell customers about is Lowes next day delivery policy They uninstall the old unit and will haul it away unless you want to keep it at which time they would move it where you wanted it ( garage, carport) install the new unit, give a rundown of it's functions and be on there way. I am always blown away when I hear of someone willing to do the Home Depot Hassle shuffle instead of going somewhere that will price match and deliver. I currently work for neither company. best of luck . Bill Williamson

Home Depot damaged my credit

Home Depot reported a 30 day late on my credit report. I have always made more than the minimum payment on my credit report and have never defaulted on my account. We moved about 10 months ago and placed a change of address with the post office. We did not receive our Home Depot statement at our new address. I did not have a balance on the account prior to our move; therefore I was not made aware of these charges. My husband is a joint card holder and placed a charge on my card for tools for our business. Without receiving my statement and my husband working out of town, I had no idea that there were charges on the account. I was alerted that there was a 30 day late on my credit report through Citi Identity Monitor. I immediately called Home Depot and made a payment and advised them that I did not make the charges on my account, asking them to remove the 30 day late as a courtesy. Additionally, I have been struggling with major medical over the last year and have had more than 20 stents placed in my pancreas. I most recently had a surgery that required a week stay in the hospital to repair my stenosed pancreatic duct, common bile duct and sphincter muscle.
I understand that Citibank is the financial institution for the Home Depot Credit Cards. I have five other Citibank Cards and a Citibank Home Equity Line of credit. I have never been late on any of my credit lines with Citi. I would hope that Home Depot/Citibank would reconsider and remove the 30 day late from my credit report. This has had a devastating impact on my credit score. I am currently seeking a lender to re-finance my home, but due to the negative information reported on my credit I have been denied a re-finance. I am currently seeking legal advice and have reported this to the FTC for further investigation.

Home Depot kitchen floor installation

Pasted below is an e-mail message I sent today to Home Depot Chairman and CEO Frank Blake regarding horrible customer service recently received from Home Depot and their subcontractors for a kitchen floor installation.

Mr. Blake---
I am calling to your attention a very poor and disappointing experience my wife and I had with Home Depot that has lasted several months. This message is long, but it is because there is so much to this story that Home Depot and its subcontractors have caused problems on.

We went to Home Depot store #1225 in Brooklyn, NY, in late November/early December 2011, and purchased a new linoleum floor with installation for our kitchen. The subcontracted estimating company, MeasureComp, came a few weeks later to create the estimate. The employee lifted up one tile from the floor to see what the flooring was underneath. Upon receiving the estimate, we scheduled the installation for January 16, 2012.

My wife was eight-months pregnant at the time, and she went with our two-year old son to her mother's house for two days in case any aspect of the installation might be unsafe for them. I emptied out the kitchen, and paid our super to disconnect the stove and fridge. I was given a timeframe of 1:00-3:00 for the installation team to arrive, the subcontractor was American Carpet South (ACS). They called me at 2:50 to say they’d be there in 25 minutes. They did not show up until 4:35, blaming it on another job running long, and made no mention of the fact he had tld me he would be there by 3:15.

After surveying the kitchen, the installer told me they couldn’t do the job. They needed to add a second layer of plywood to use as an underlay, and the concrete under the tiles would take a lot of time to remove and would be very dusty - it would be at least a full day, possibly even would need additional time on a second day to complete. He asked whether the estimator lifted up a tile to see what was underneath, as he should have seen that was needed. I told him the estimator did lift up one tile to look; he responded that the estimator did not do his job correctly. He called ACS to tell them to order the extra layer of wood and that the job would need to be rescheduled.

I called Home Depot a few weeks later to re-schedule the installation for April 9 and asked for the 9:00 am time slot. I was given the time and told to call ACS directly closer to the date to confirm the time. I called ACS about a week and a half before April 9 to confirm the 9:00 am time and was told I would get that time slot.

By this time our second child was born, and my wife took both of them back to her mother's house for a couple of days for the installation. At 9:40 am on April 9, I called ACS to find out where the installer was. I was told that I wasn’t on the schedule for that day; I was told that the day after I scheduled installation for April 9, Home Depot called ACS and told them it actually was April 19. I was never called by Home Depot nor ACS to confirm this, an ACS blamed the mix-up on Home Depot. I also told the representative that I had called ACS a week and a half before to confirm the time. The ACS representative had no response to this comment.

ACS got a hold of an installer who would able to come, but they only would be able to remove the existing floor, with installation having to be done the next day. I was told they would be there by 11:30. They arrived around 12:30. They left after 6:00. During this day, I called ACS around 3:15 to confirm that the installer would be there at 9:00 am the next day and was told that would be the case.

Around 9:45 am, ACS called me to tell me that the installer would be a bit delayed, as the vinyl that was cut for the floor had something wrong with it. The installer himself called me around 10:15 to say he would be there in 25 minutes. He called back at 11:40 to say that he had car problems and the car had to be fixed. An ACS representative called shortly after to say the car would be fixed by 1:30.

I called ACS around 1:30 for an update and was told the driver still was at the Home Depot with the broken down car. I asked to speak to an owner or a supervisor. I also asked why he couldn’t use a different car and have someone else sit with the broken one, or why a different installer couldn’t get the materials and do the job, especially because of the major inconvenience my family already had been put through for this job. I was told I would be gotten back to. I never received an answer to this request, nor was I ever put in touch with an owner or supervisor.

I received a call from ACS a little after 2:00 that the car would be fixed within a half-hour and the installer then would come, which should be by 3:00, actually using the words, "Rest assured, " a choice of words I found mindboggling considering what already had transpired. The installation team did not arrive until 4:05.

After surveying the kitchen, the installer told me that the vinyl they had was 7/10 of an inch too short. He also said he did not have any of the floorboard trim needed for one side of the room. I asked to speak to an owner or a supervisor. I instead was given to one of the ACS representatives I had been dealing with over the course of the two days. He told me he spoke to Home Depot and told them to have the materials ready to go, as the installer would have to go back to get them. The other installer would remain to seal up the seams of the wood underlay. The incorrect materials lack of other materials were blamed on Home Depot. ACS took no responsibility for checking the materials before they came.

The installer left before 4:30 to get the correct materials. The sealing of the seams took 10 minutes, leaving the installer who stayed with nothing else to do. The other installer did not return until after 5:30. The installer determined that we did not need a second layer of wood, the main reason the first scheduled installment was postponed. They did not leave until after 7:30. I had to cancel several things I had planned to do that afternoon, expecting the job would be done in the morning.

An ACS representative called when the job was done to say he would talk to Home Depot about removing the charges for materials and services not used, and that he would discuss Home Depot giving us a gift card for our troubles. I told him that would be appreciated, as my wife and I already had made the decision never to shop at Home Deport again, but that is something that would help address our displeasure.

Home Depot left me a message on April 14 to issue the refund over the phone. I called back the next day, and was told the woman who left me the message was not in that day, and the person answering the phone did not know how to issue refunds over the phone. She put me on hold to find someone who could and left me on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back and got the same woman who said she had just got back to the phone, and was having trouble finding someone who knew how to issue a refund over the phone. I called back the next day and spoke to the woman who left the original message, and she processed my refund.

I called ACS on April 19 for an update on the gift card they said they spoke to Home Depot about. The representative said he was surprised Home Depot hadn't contacted me yet, and he said he would give them a reminder, as he was told we would receive a $100 gift card. I called Home Depot on April 30 and left a voice mail for the expediter. Nobody ever called me back. I called and left another voice mail on May 4. I received a voice mail back asking for our home phone number associated with the order (I had left my cell number to contact me). I called back the same day and left another voice mail with the home number. I never heard back from anyone. Today now is May 20, and we have not received a gift card.

Home Depot's customer service is sorely lacking, and its subcontractors cannot be trusted. In addition, it is important for Home Depot to be aware of the customer service ACS provides on its behalf, their complete lack of responsibility, and blame they place on Home Depot for any problems. The installers several times during the day told me that Home Depot frequently messes things up, essentially shifting all of the blame for the past two days to them. In addition, ACS made no mention of the fact that their employee is the one who postponed the initial installment because he said we needed a second layer of wood. No apology was made for this.

I appreciate your time in reading this message, and expect to hear back soon. I am sending a copy of this message to ACS and MeasureComp, and also submitted it through the 'Contact Us' page on Home Depot's website. I wanted to send a copy to store #1225's manager, Kevin P. Bracken, but his e-mail address is not provided on your website. I also am sending this message to consumerist.com, complaintsboard.com, complaints.com and pissedconsumer.com, and will be posting about this on my Facebook page.

From OP:
Home Depot called and e-mailed me before 9 am today. I spoke with someone on their Executive Escalation Team, who apologized for my experience. They e-mailed me a $150 gift card. I also received a voice mail from ACS, asking me to call back and saying they had sent me an e-mail response, although I did not receive the e-mail. I plan to call them back tomorrow.
