We rented a car from Hertz through united.com. Due to weather, our flight was cancelled. My husband called to redo our rental car. The agent then told him that our car cost much more than originally told. We wanted to keep the car, but cancel it for the first day because of flight being cancelled. Agent told him they couldn't just cancel the first night, that the whole rental agreement had to be cancelled and start over with new rental. The agent was very ride to my husband and hung up on him. Our flight was out of Killeen, Texas, flying to Portland, Maine, picking up car at Portland.my husband tried to explain to her we wanted to keep the car but just cancel it for the first night. My husband finally told her to cancel the whole thing since she was being so unreasonable. The agent then said, fine, it's cancelled, then proceeded to hang up on him. We will not be using Hertz rental car again. That's no way to treat a customer.
