Great Clips haircut

On August 11th I went into the Great Clips on Cornell Road in Portland OR.
Having been an hair dresser for over 25 years and having had my mother as my instructor, I KNOW how to cut hair. I am not Joe Blow off the street. So when I sit down I warn the person cutting my hair that I KNOW how I want my hair cut and I will tell you how to cut my hair.
Well I got this blonde lady there who has no business cutting hair. I specifically told her I wanted shoulder length with just the bottom 2 inches layered. My hair was to the bottom of my shoulder blades. I wanted a nice clean cut, no slithering or razor.
Well as I was telling her how to cut the layers I wanted she grabbed a chunk of my hair as she CHOPPED it off telling me "NO I am doing it my way". That is the exact same phrase the lady used who made me go into hair dressing used before she chopped my hair. I couldn't even jump out of the chair at that point or believe me I would have.
I am so pissed right now. My hair is CHOPPED. The layers are uneven, the front is longer than the back and in the back underneath it is only an inch long now. That is NOT a layer cut. The bottom should be longer than the top. I have a great big point now between the top and the bottom because of the horrible job she did. And she thinks shoulder length means CHIN length. It will be months before it is long enough for me to even get this chop job fixed. I truly HATE my hair right now.
I am requesting a FULL refund of the 28.00 dollars I paid.
I could have done a better job myself at home.

Great Clips policy issue

When you find someone who cuts your hair perfectly the way you want it, you certainly wouldn't want anyone else cutting it. Well I found that person at Great Clips, but I have been told by the Manager that I cannot make a request to have that person cut my hair. I checked in to a Great Clips and waited for the girl that I wanted. I even let people go in front of me so that I could get the girl I wanted to cut my hair. I was told that my name was removed from the list and I would not be getting my hair cut at Great Clips that day by the person I wanted because the barbers take turns with the customers. I found that very rude, since its my hair and I don't want just anyone cutting it since I have had very bad experiences with other barbers. I was told it was a policy and the Manager was so rude and condescending I finally just walked out. please change this policy

Great Clips haircut

I went to Great Clips in Galt, Ca. I let the stylest know I wanted it trimmed and thinned, no layers. I wanted to keep the length and I don't want layers. Her name is Vivian. I asked her to thin and when I felt my hair in the back it felt really short, the top was chopped off! It was very uneven and very textured. I asked her what happened to my hair and she said I wanted in thin. I said I told you I wanted it kept long, no layers and everyone I have asked to thin always thinned from the bottom. She offered no help to fix it. I felt very shocked and overwhelmed. I don't even no why I stood there and paid for it. I think I was in shock and didn't want to cry in the store with all of the customers watching me. I got to my car and broke down crying. I did have to go to another salon to have my hair fixed. My hair is now above my shoulders in order to fix the terrible mess Vivian did to me. I do want a refund for my haircut. Who can help with this?

Great Clips procedure and attitude

I have been a loyal Great Clips client for years. My main store is Coleman crossing in Marysville Ohio. I have been sore about this for weeks now and just decided to write. I went in un preassigned on this particular day. There were 4 in front in me and two stylist. I sat there through one then the second was called. No one there. So they took the next one. Then my turn and the lady called the name that wasn't there and she had arrived. Instead of moving her to the bottom they took her In front on me. She explained she had signed in but went shopping and was late getting back. When I questioned this I was basically told tuff crap, she signed in, went shopping and is now here. Clearly I was upset and voiced my complaint. I was then greeted with a smart [censor] response "well sorry, have a nice day" in a very sarcastic tone. I haven't been back since and I'm still very upset. I don't recall the lady's name but this policy seems rather rude to those who have waited their turn. In addition to a sarcastic attitude and embarrassment in front of several others waiting.

Great Clips terrible haircut

I resently moved to Calgary so I brought my son to one of the local Great Clips today. The stylist asked me how I want his hair done. I just told her to trim it a bit shorter, but kept the same style. None of the stylists I visited before have problems with such simple request, but my son's hair ended up with a terrible new look and his hair was not evenly trimmed on both sides. I'm definitely not going back.

Great Clips service

today 7/24/17 went to great clips in Dixon, Illinois to get a haircut Chad cut my hair he reeked so bad of tobacco I can still smell it and its been 2 hours he couldn't have showered or put on clean clothes he will never cut my hair again I'm sure I'm not the only one that has experienced this problem with Chad anyone with breathing problems or allergies would have a problem breathing he reeked that bad hes working in a public place should not be allowed to smell that bad not trying to get him fired but he should be addressed about this problem I would think his co workers have a problem with his stinking like cigarettes also its not a smell he developed just that morning because I was there as soon as they opened and the smell was real strong probably I'm wasting my breathe because nothing will be done about this problem but if everyone quits going to him because of this he will not make any money so be it

Great Clips unprofessional behavior

I went to great clips in Dalton Ga on shugart rd To get my haircut the person I normally use was not there. My grandmother needed to leave and wanted to go ahead an pay for the cut. There was this tall women in the first chair and the girl checking me. we asked if it was ok to pay first with cash. The tall women turned around and with a hateful tone and go to hell look said no she has to stay here. I asked the girl that cut my hair who the manager was cause I was gonna inform her on the stylist behavior but she wasn't there and she proceeded to tell me that the asst manager was there and she pointed to the tall girl and said her name is melissa she could help you. how can you have a manager in a company like this and they be that unprofessional and rude to the customers. The lady that cut my hair did tell me it was policy about not paying before a cut which the asst manager should have said instead of being rude and hateful to us. Th

Great Clips employee pay and passing the buck

I worked at Great Clips in OKC. Each stylist is required to enter their information on ADP for direct deposit. I did this. My account number and routing number for my bank were entered correctly because I double checked it before selecting the submit button. I got a better job with benefits someplace else and never returned to Great Clips. Payday came on June 30 and my check was not direct deposited. I contacted the Franchisee. He passed it to the manager. The manager claimed to the franchisee that she called me numerous times. My count on calls was ONE. Numerous emails have been exchanged, people were contacted, and yet the buck is still passing around because this is almost August and I still have no paycheck from June. I requested on July 11 to have a paper check mailed to the address they have on file for me, but have received nothing. Not even an email to tell me that the check has been mailed. The stylists are not allowed to sit down during their shifts unless they clock out, they get 30 minutes for lunch when they work a full shift from open to close on weekends, and God forbid you should want to be comfortable. As a stylist, standing on our feet all day is very difficult, and when you have to look "professional", it is also uncomfortable. Having to wear dressy shoes and clothes is a redundant policy considering how much hair accumulates during a shift. If you don't push product, you're not a good employee. I refuse to push product I don't like. I may have to use it in the salon but I don't have to sell it if I don't like it, and I won't be forced to do so. Our tips that are captured from credit card sales to customers are routed to a debit card, and we are taxed on them when we get our checks. THEN we have to pay taxes on our tips AGAIN when we file our income taxes. I will never again work for Great Clips and I feel sorry for anyone who thinks it's the ticket to their success.

Great Clips unethical behaviour

I went to take my mother for a haircut and when it was our turn another customer was called that should have been served after us When I asked why we were not called first two of the working lady's had to discuss first why they were doing itThe explanation was that it wouldn't take long and that we would be next I told the lady that it was wrong for us having to wait since we were waiting for awhile already. I guess the other customer was more important than us I made me feel like we were singled out.I would never go or recommend Great Clips again This was so sad since my mother is handicapped due to Dementia and other medical issues and does not understand why she was treated that way. Worst customer service ever.

Great Clips customer service

This company does not care about what happens at the various franchisers. I had a bad experience at a location- called customer service and was basically told that I am on my own- they will contact the owner even though I mentioned that I contacted the salon already. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE- SHOULD NOT BOTHER ANSWERING THE TELEPHONE.

I just noticed that the same company owns Sports Clips- a year ago my son got a fungal infection after a haircut at a sports clips location. I wrote to the company about this. I did not receive a response from anyone with regards to this experience either. I voted with my feet and never took my son to a sports clips again. I will do the same with regards to Great clips as well, now that I know it is the same franchise group

Great Clips haircut/beard and moustache trim

Went to the Mankato MN Raintree location (where I've been a customer for over a decade) and received the worst service I have ever experienced from any company in my 55 years. All three services took a total of 9 minutes, the beard line was about three inches too high on my neck (and was crooked!), which could have been avoided by her (Kim) asking me ahead of time, which is usually customary (?). I knew 45 seconds into it that she either had hot date or was "on her way to a fire?" After calling the manager, I was told that "Kim" was only there for another week, so her brain/manners obviously quit before the rest of her body did! It makes me so furious, I will probably post a complaint on the BBB website. I sincerely hope that Kim quit to start a career in an industry for which she is more suited...like making fries at McDonalds? Absolutely atrocious!

Great Clips unethical behavior

This incident I witnessed on 07/02/2017 at Dallas location 5500 Greenville Ave #502, Dallas, TX 75206.
I had a terrible experience with two people working here(Both are ladies, one with a pink short hair). They are very rude and unnecessarily pass provocative comments, I am not sure if it's due to racism. Being a customer one needs to treat them with dignity. Worst ever experience I had with Great clips!

Great Clips $5.00 coupon offer

I went to your location at 19231 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Lutz Fl 33549. I took the $ 5.00 coupon on my phone. So did my grandson. We have been going to this location for over 10 years. The owner refused our coupons. Says she only takes the ones that come out in a flyer. I'm not one bit happy. She cost me
$ 10.00. I will find a different salon for our next hair cuts and it won't be a Great Clips. I try to support our local business' and this location is only 4 miles from my home, but I will not go there again. Sorry

Great Clips employee giving messages instead of just cutting hair

I felt so uncomfortable when I took my boyfriend to get his hair cut after the employee finish cutting his hair the employee start giving my boyfriend a message I told him my boyfriend came in a hair cut not for you to put your hands all over him, the employee said that he gives all his customers a message, I was so mad and I didn't even get the employees name but he was working on Sunday morning June 25th 2017 its a new store that just opened on lemon ave in Dallas, tx 75219, the employee was a Hispanic around in his forties and around 5' 8 tall short hair no facial hair, can you please stop him from doing that .thanks you can reach me at [protected] my name is Ramon Hernandez

Great Clips pricing

Have been going to Great Clips for a couple of years to get a regular style and shampoo - the price has always been $19.00. Today 6/24/17 at 4:07 p.m. went to Great Clips, McIntyre Square, Pittsburgh, Pa and had my hair done by Dawn. I was charged $35.00. I am 74 years old and as previously mentioned have gone to a number of different Great Clips and always paid $19.00 even at this same shop. I am definitely not a happy customer. I want my money back as I believe I was overcharged. My ticket No. 549635.

Great Clips bad hair cut

Steels Ave & Thompson Rd

I went with my kids today to get a hair cut but unfortunately when I went home my wife was shocked with the quality of hair cut of my little son.

Please see the pictures the poor quality of the hair cut around the
sideburns as well as the small cut on the boy's face!

Do I need to check the hair cut quality before I leave the shop every time?

Great Clips overcharging

I went for hair cut to oak ridge on may 10th . there was a promotion for $7.99. i got my haircut done and i paid $9.2 including tax by my visa card. i have received the bank statement which shows that i have charged for $22.44. i called customer service and the owner left me a message i called him back two times on June 1st and talked to him he was supposed to resolve the problem and call me back but i have not received any call from him . my phone number is [protected].

This just happened to me as well. Cut was 18 and I left 5 tip. So $23. But my account was charged 32.60. I didn't ask for a receipt and was told "oh well" when I went back to the store to inquire

Great Clips haircut

Today June 3, 20017, I went into your salon at Freedom Square in Naples, FL to have my hair trimmed into LONG layers. Before the cut my hair was down my back between my shoulder blades. Now it is shoulder length and the hair on top of my head is only 3 inches long.

There is no was to resolve this issue, you can't glue it back. My suggestion is send your stylists to a math class specializing in lengths.

Great Clips employees on drugs

I recently went in to great Clips in tullahoma tennessee and while parking I seen a woman in her car snorting something off of a cd case, we'll whole waiting for my cut the woman in the car works there I immediately got up and asked for her name it's Sylvia McCullough I told her I was going to make a complaint on her and I left .How can u expect someone who is doing great drugs on the clock to provide a good service I e been getting my hair cut there for years and now I'm considering taking my business some place else bease I do not want someone high on drugs to be anywhere near me with anything sharp

Great Clips customer service

I went into your Hillview Great Clips locatin in Greer SC located in the Walmart parking lot off East Wade Hampton. I came in there were 4 women cutting hair and your manager greeted me Welcome to Great Clips and they checked me in. One male ahead of me. After maybe 3 or 4 minutes they called the male ahead of me. I waited for the next girl to finish. Five minutes she finished and swept up and grabbed her drink and went to the back. I'm thinking maybe she had to go to the rest room. Finnaly after 5 or 6 minutes she came back went to the register and clocked out for lunch leaving me sitting there. I thought ok then your manager finished looked at me couple of times and smiled and went to the register and she clocked out and left. The manager of all people. That left 2 girls so she finished and in the mean time a couple of women had walked in and the other lady she was a African American took one of the women who had just walked in ahead of me and by this time I had been there over 20 minutes and the African American said this woman already checked in but had to go to Walmart so that is why I'm taking her ahead of you. I'm thinking what the woman left and then she comes back and goes ahead of me after I did what you are suppose to do. I waited my turn. I'm thinking what if everybody checked in and left, do they expect to go in front of people who waited and didn't leave. If everybody did that you would have some serious problems. If I had checked in and left and came back and one of those women tried to take me before someone who checked in after me but waited I would not allow it. It's my fault for leaving I lost my place I will get my hair cut after all the people who did what they were suppose to do and waited even if I checked in before them. That is not fair. I can't believe the employee thought that the woman should go before me. By then I'm getting pretty mad and there is one girl left and she is finishing up with a little boy with the little boys mother standing right behind her running her mouth and want let the woman do her job but she handled it very professional like A good professional should. She was very polite and respectful and the mother said I.m sorry I'm in your way and still stood there. I.m thinking no she's not sorry are she would go sit down. This was not a 2 year old that the mother needed to protect he was at least 6 or 7 and the mother could have sat in the chairs and watched and if the stylist was having a problem then you call the mother. The boy was very well behaved didn't need the mother there in the woman's way. The stylist was great let the woman stand there and talk and answered her questions like a good professional should and she finished and pulled my name up and called me that fast. Exactly the kind of employee Great Clips wants representing them. Then she had to hear me because by the time I git into her chair I had been waiting 45 minutes because 2 girls 1 of them your manager didn't care and the other thought the woman who left deserved to go before me. If your stylist made her a promise that when she got back from Walmart she would be first even if people were waiting and told her that you checked in before them so you go ahead of them then you have some serious problems. I've been in customer service almost 40 years and never treated a customer like those 3 girls did. That stylist should never had made that promise. That woman should have been told yes mam you can leave but I will have to take the customers who checked in and waited first even though you checked in first. When you left you voided all that. The woman who cut my hair is what Great Clips needs and should represent. The other 3 no way and it bothers me because one of them is a manager and how she was chosen and the person who chose her bothers me a great deal. The woman who cut my hair needs to be your manager because she knows what is important the customers needs and will help Great Clips attract other customers who are going else where. I wan to make sure that this woman does not get in trouble she has glasses and blonde hair and if you are a the register her booth is the second on the right. In fact her booth is right next to the sorry excuse for a manager. She had to apologize for the other three. I tke that back she didn't have to but she did any way. I told her I was mad and I am going to complain on these three girls but I will make sure they know you did the right way and Great Clips is lucky to have you. I almost forgot to tell you lost 2 customers because they walked out because nobody there to help this poor girl. I'm not sure that's why they left but they left. The other girl who was there was to busy helping her buddy who cut in front of me. When I started complaining I made sure that girl heard me and told my girl I hope she hears me. Then the manager comes back when The stylist is finishing up with me and acts like nothing happened and went straight to the register and took someone like she should have took me 1 hour before that. No apology no nothing. In fact I don't think she realizes she did anything wrong and she is the manager. That store is in a lot of trouble. I told my stylist that my wife dropped me of and she was at Wal Mart buying things and I guess I could have checked in and said I need to go to Wal Mart with my wife I'll be back. Would I be first when I got back. I better not be because I left. Also the stylist who cut my hair was hungry and tired and needed a break but would not until every customer was satisfied. I could see the girl was over whelmed and told her so but she said customers first. She is right and being a good employee means sometimes you sacrifice for the customer because she realizes without the customer there is no business and she doesn't make money. This girl is customer first money second. Those kind of employees are hard to find. She should be rewarded some how for the professional way she handled everything from the mother in her way and talking her head off to the 2 girls that left with me looking at them and one your manager and the other playing favorites she did a great job and I told her to tell those three girls what I said and I was going to complain and I was telling my stylist that my wife may call because it's taking so long and she knew there was one male ahead of me with 4 stylists cutting hair. About the phone rings and the stylist asked me do you need to answer that. I said no because if I tell her what happened here she will be up here and those 3 girls will have a bad day. I'm not going to tell her until we get home. Then the phone rings a second time I told the stylist I told you I have to answer it this time. The stylist said I am almost finished I said don't you hurry this is not your fault You want to do a good job and cut my hair like you would regular' Those girls messed up so you don't let them huury you for their mistakes. I told my wife I was in the chair and almost done and she said ok. When I hung up I told the stylist I am so glad she didn't ask me what is taking so long because I want lie to her I would have told het the truth and there would have been hell to pay for these 3 girls. I thanked my stylist for a job well told her that these 3 girls will never touch my hair you will cut my hair from now on because you care about your customers and treat them with respect. I made sure that the manager and the other girl heard me and I also said you represent Great Clips well but you are the only one in here that does. I still can't believe that a manager who greeted me and checked me in and knew how long I had been waiting and watched the first girl not take me and go to lunch she smiled at me and went to lunch. I hire and fire managers and I know people you have some problems at that store that need to be addressed the first is fire that manager and put the girl who cut my hair as your manager and that store will be one of your top stores because she knows what it takes to be successful. If I hired her she would need no training as far as customer service. I 've complained enough and the girl who took the girl before me because she checked in before will probably try to cover her butt by telling you the woman had an appointment. That is not what she said she said the woman checked in before you but had to go to Walmart no appointment. You deal with this how you see fit but if I don't like how this was handled then you have not heard the last of me I will go higher until I get a person who cares just like my stylist. My stylist never once said a bad thing about her fellow employees even though she had every right to. SDhe handled it like a pro after 2 girls lrft and one girl dismissed me she made my stylist handle all that and she did very professionally and very respectful even though she is the one who should have been at break are lunch. She has her priorities straight and would represent your business well. Thank You for your time and reading my complaint but I felt thios was something that could not be overlooked and needed to be address. I see one problem you have the wrong girl as manager and 3 wrong girls working there. Before nI go I want to let you know I love going to Great Clips and this is the first issue I've had. It should have never happened starting with the first girl who should have cut my hair and didn't it went south from there but thanks to one girl she put out the fire and should be reconized for the way she handled it and none of it was her fault. Damn a manager acting like that I can't believe it I asked my stylist who is your manager because I was going to complain to her and she said she just left and her booth is next to mine. I said the one who greeted me and checked me in and smiked at me and then wen to lunch knowing how long I have been sitting there is your manager. My stylist had to tell me the truth she said yes sir I said you need to be looking for a new manager and she still would not say anything bad about her are the other 2 girls. I said well I don't need to speak with your manager seeing she ran out and left you to handle all this. Who ever hired her does not need to be doing the hiring. Either they can't spot talent or she wasn't checked out thoroughly or she lied on her resume. Either way she is no manager and a competent person would have known and never hired her as a manager. You put this girl in charge of keeping your customers happy and leading by example she failed on both and so did the person who hird her. How many more loke her did this person hire and put in a manager;s job. I would check it out. I'm sorry I am not use to a business as customer oriented as yours that depends on customers to surrive would have a manager and employees work for them and not notice. I would and would and take it very seriously as to how far up the chain this incompetence goes. Someone dropped the ball. I don't tolerate that kind of behavior at my company and especially as people oriented as your company is you can't afford to hire the wrong people you have a reputation to protect and 3 people like that can do more damage than you think and when you do find out it's to late the damage id done and then you are in damage control instead of customer mode. Also the employees who do their job the right way get punished for those employees mistakes because they now are in damage control instead of customer mode and it makes them think about making mistakes or not wanting to make mistakes and they lose focus and to much pressure and your production and customer goes down not to mention morale. All because of three employees which you could fix with minimal damage but when one is a manager of the store that is getting the complaint and watched her employee walk out on me and then she does the same thing you have big problems and it rus towards upper management. I've been through it and no what it can cause so you take care of it swift and hard and remember it's not personal it's business. Have a good Memorial Day weekend I expect to hear from someone soon I am not a person who is just complaining I am a person who knows good customer service and respect when he sees it and know good employees when he sees them you have one good employee out of those 4 girls one is worth representing the Great clips name my stylist. I'm sorry I can't remember her name but I was so upset I did not ask her but you will find out who she is. She is the one who works because customers need help while the others go to lunch. My name is Donald Johnson the complaint dept at the other place you call to complain has my phone number if you would like to speak further. Believe me they got an ear ful too biut the woman who took the complaint did not seem concerned or it was her voice either way she doesn't have the voice or attitude to be taking complaints. She asked me all the right questions but with no passion like I was a person who is complaing it will blow over, Wrong I am a person that complained who does customer service and is boss and never have I or would allow any of my employees to treat a customer like I was treated. ENEXCUSABLE. If I allowed that I would fire myself for it happening and for hiring the people who made it happen. It's not hard to see a good people person in an interview if you ask the right questions. A person who want treat customers right can't answer those questions correctly or try to bull their way through it want work I catch them every time and tell tem you don't have the right temperament for the job especially when hiring a manager, I know this girl was not checked out or has a relative high up that helped her or is seeing one of those bosses no way she slips through the cracks she was let through. Also I was told there was no corporate so I could not complain. I guess that's why they told me that I should have asked my stylist she would have told me the truth but I wanted to prove my point. I was right they protect themselves plus I did not want to get your good employee involved anymore she did not deserve it. I expect to hear from you very soon or I will go higher up.

Youre mad because one stylist needed to eat and another was done her shift? Would you rather a hangry stylist or someone ready to go home rush through your cut? What makes you so special that someone should stay late and lose personal/family time or not take their needed and deserved break? So they're bad stylists because they needed to stop working? Id hate to work for you.
