Edgars Fashion / Edcon submitted a claim for my cell phone

I recently lost my phone and firstly called the Hollard insurance to find out what the procedure was for submitting a claim. Spoke to a very friendly representative that told me that i need to get a ITC reference number and an affidavit when submitting a claim and i can take to any Edgars Cellphone kiosk. On Thursday i got all my documents in order and took it into the Edgars Canal Walk Cellphone shop/kiosk. I was politely helped with one of the employees. He looked at the documents and told me that you have everything in order but he cannot submit it know but he will give me a call tomorrow the 11/12/2015 which did not happened and i then called and spoke to a Laika and she advised that i need to come in on Saturday to fill in the documents for the claim. My question here is why was i not advised to fill in the documents on the first day. I then advised her i will come through the Saturday to complete the documents. I then arrived the Saturday to find out they could not find any of the documents that i submitted the Thursday evening filled in the claim form but was now advised that i need a case number from the police. Advised that i need to come in tomorrow 13/12/2015. 1. the call centre representative did not advise any of this in the beginning. 2. the Edgars representative also did no advise this. Went there the Sunday morning and they then could not find any of the documents and the manager on duty advised i need to resubmit all the documents and they will take it from there and they just sorry. I noticed that they are totally unorganised and have no respect/helpful in any demand. Highly disappointed as i also in noticed that client asked someone for assistance in the cellphone department and the client was told that "he cannot assist the client because he works in the cellphone department". This 3 days costed me R200 worth of petrol for people that dont have a clue of what they doing. I would really love to compensated for my time and money in this regard for employees who is not properly trained at your branch. Regards Clint Johannes [protected]

Edgars Fashion / Edcon guess buy one get one free promo

Goody I went to the store purchase the promotion that was advertised from Edgar's for the Guess buy one get one free promo and was told by the lady that I cant purchase it as they are having a system issue as it does not scan the promo. I then left the store went back to the office called another branch and said that it they have to assist me.Went back to the store and spoke to Senzo the manager and he also verified that they cannot sell it as it is and issue on the system and they have escalated it with there office.I am a customer and was turned away again I have given my number to him and set my jeans aside on the shelf but was told I cant purchase it 12/12/15 till the system is fixed and the promo ends on Sunday 13/12/15.What an experience this has been to go shopping.Edgar's disgusted.I then called the complaint line and spoke to Prenal and she confirmed that they should have given me the product but I was turned away twice from the store all I have is a ref no :[protected]/go and was told that they will contact me.Are the managers not trained on these procedures unacceptable. I will send all info to the CPA.On my experience on how I was turned away for the promotion that has been AT ALL STORES NATIONALLY.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon managers response to employees

i'm currently an edgars casual employee started on the 9th of november for a 3 month contract, there is one floor manager who got bad attitude and abusing workers verbally and emotionally, shes one of the worst manager i have ever sen she doest'n have skills she bully workers by threatening to fire them.i also the victim of her i'm even scared to go to work after she chased me like a dog on the 10 0f december 2015. she said i must go shell call me to come to work if she want, and my contract stated that i'll work 5 days 8 hours but she doesn't schedule me for above 3 days.my employee number is 2296779 and the name the the floor manager is Ann.if is possible i would like to be transfer to another edgars store.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon advertised discount not available in store

I received an SMS on Thursday 10 December 2015 at 10:27 - 'Christmas comes early with Jeep & Edgars. Prices reduced by up to 30% on all Jeep menswear clothing @ Edgars. Spoil yourself or your Jeep man! ' I went into Edgars Menlyn on Thursday 10 December at 11:50 only to be told that their store knew nothing about this! The lady in charge was very helpful but there was no discount available! Please explain!

Edgars Fashion / Edcon my account status

I had an account in arrears with Edgars. A lady, consultant, called and asked me to settle the account. She asked me to pay a R1000, and the rest will be cleared as bad. This happened in October 2014. Yesterday I learned that I still have an outstanding balance (it accumulated). Since I paid, I haven't received any communication, as I assumed everything was fine. Who can I approach? This has affected my credit rating negatively Chrlie

Edgars Fashion / Edcon payment not received

On 8/12/[protected] 6104i payed R2700 at jet stores then when I went to make a purchase today 9/12/2015 I was told that I needed to pay R1600 and something and the end balance on my receipt did not correspond with the one on the computer screen at Edgar's stores and I am very confused because the previous day at jet I specifically asked the lady the till namely Asanda Rwala if I had any credit on my card and she told me yes and said it was R9000 something and I was very furious to only find out at the till with all the items I had choosed that I could not make the purchase because I had an out standing payment I would like somebody to call in and explain very quick and for my card to be fixed so that I can make the purchase before Friday 11/12/2015 however I do not have access to make an attachment but the cashier at Edgar's sent the copy of my receipt to someone at the head office it was sent to an email address of somebody who goes by the surname of Zondo I would really appreciate if you call me be as soon as you read my complaint

By die afdeling waar jy staan om goed om te ruil of terug te vat het 'n hele paar mense gestaan. Die personeel van Edgars daar agter die toonbank was net een persoon wat besig was om van die Edgars personeel wat iets omgeruil het te help. Die ander agter die toonbank het net heen en weer geloop en met mekaar gesels terwyl ons almal gewag het dat nog iemand 'n "kassiere/toonbank" sal oopmaak en help. So het dit seker vir 30 minute aangegaan. Almal in die ry het ongeduldig geraak maar nog steeds is ons net ge-ignoreer. Ek was tweede in die ry van voor af en net toe ek wil bel om met die Bestuurder te praat of te laat roep, toe kon ek na vore gaan om klere om te ruil/terug te gee. By hierdie tak spesifiek gebeur dit ongelooflik baie en dink ek net ek persoonlik het genoeg gehad. Baie van die mense in die tou het gese daar moet regtig iets aan gedoen word want dit gebeur elke keer. Graag wens ek u net te versoek om dringend aandag aan die verband te gee. Ons almal is net doodgewone mense en vra net vriendelikheid en behulpsaamheid. Baie dankie...

Edgars Fashion / Edcon telemarketing

I receive daily calls from a number. I googled and discovered it was Edgars. I don't answer calls from unknown numbers and am not interested in anything being sold. My account is up to date but should these daily calls continue I will cancel my account. I was forced to submit a complaint. Several calls a day is ridiculous.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon black friday cell phone sale

To whom it may concern This Friday, 27 November 2015, there will be a Black Friday sale at above mentioned stores. There are cell phones from R299 onwards. I went to all the stores in Paarl, western Cape, which is where I reside. All confirmed that they are all part of the participating stores but non of them have stock. How is it possible that it is advertised but there is no stock prior to the black Friday sale that is advertised all over with posters and banners in newspapers and in stores? All stores say that non of the close by stores in other citys have stock either? Why mislead the public into thinking they can get something at the stores when they never had stock in the first place? the reason I went in early was to avoid dissappointment on Friday because I knew that chances were that there would be limited stock available but I did not know that there would be NO stock available? Not even one of the stores had an out of stock poster or notification? how is it possible to advertise something that you never planned on selling? is it to get the consumers to buy a more expensive product because that was all that was available? it really is a shame. you claim to help people save, but all you really want to do is rob them of their money.

Generally if you want to have the BEST of the Worst service, make your way to Edgars, not all the staff, I admit, those I can count on 2 fingers, but, my experience on the 271009 with Beauty is enough to keep me away from that store forever.I bought 2 items that needed to be altered, never being to that section of any Edgars before, I was met by Beauty .When I asked if I was at the right place, she rudely told me the lady is not there, when I asked where she was, I again ever ruder, told me she didn't know, then said she was on lunch, when I asked if there was anyone else to help, she said no and she didn't know when the lady will be back, then she said 2:30pm.I was quite perturbed by her attitude and lack of assistance, so I asked her where her manager was, she pointed in mid-air and said I must go and find the manager.I ddin't do this, instead I walk around the store and shopped.I then came back at 2:30, and asked her if the lady was back, she told me yes, so I said thank you, she turned around and told me I must keep my thank you, she doesn't need it.She then refused to show me where the lady was, and told me I was rude.I told her I was going to report she her, she said can, she doesn't care...

On the 6 April I visited the Edgars Sasolburg branch to change my ID number as the one that I had been using all the time indicated the wrong Date of Birth. With me I had my old ID book, my new ID book with the correct date of birth as well as the letter from the department of home affairs. The lady by the name of Nthabiseng was very helpful, she put the comments or remarks on the system and also said that she needed to phone the head office to find out what else she needed to do on her side. She first spoke to Thabo from the fraud dept who then referred her to the head office. She held on for 1 hr, I kid you not, she was so determined to keep me there until someone answered but there was just no answer. She gave me the numbers to call at my convenient time, so I did this on friday the 9th. I phoned the head office, got through within at least 5 minutes and I spoke to Samuel. He told me that he could not help me with anything because its almost time for him to go home. I must phone back on Monday to get the fax number where I need to fax the documents to. I am so disappointed, I have my account with Edgars since 2000 and I get such bad service! Help me get my ID number changed!

i went to westwood mall at 9 am for your black friday sale they said they dont have the specials for R299- i must go to the bigger stores why dont Edgars specify in the advert saying selected store only i want to publish in the newspaper i am a customer for 30 years

Edgars Fashion / Edcon return policy execution and refunding the money to my edgars account

I bought a pair of shoes of approx R900 at Edgars Forest Hill (Monavoni/Mnandi) in July 2015, for my brother to wear to my daughter's wedding in Cape Town in September 2015. He is living in the West coast and I am living in Pretoria. I took it to the wedding, to find out on the day of the wedding that he bought himself others shoes and will not wear the ones I bought for him. His reason was: the shoes are hurting him (he fitted it when we bought it in July 2015). I have the box, the slip and it was not worn. In October 2015 after the wedding, Edgars refuses to take it back and refund my account with the money. They have big boards in the store that indicates a 6 months return policy.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon refund

I closed my account (04 Oct 2015) and was not aware that I had overpaid by approx. R800. So I was advised they need to refund me but I have to provide excessive documents - a letter, bank statements and ID copy. I queried this as I wasn't sure why It was necessary. I had to do it but they did not explain in what format the documents need to be. Anyway, I called to check if I can use my Passport Copy as I was at the office and this is the only ID copy I had on file - they said it was fine. I then received a reply saying Passport is not allowed. Unacceptable! Then I was told my bank statements are incorrect - my branch is virtual and I do internet banking. I then sent the I.D. copy, 'correct' bank statements and received the following email (NOT AN AUTOMATED REPLY)(19 Oct 2015): "Dear Ms Lotz, Account number: [protected]... thank you for the received documents. Kindly be advised I have forwarded these to the relevant personnel to assist further with your refund request. Please be advised the process will take +- 14 to 21 working days. I received a call (21 Oct 2015) to say my I.D. copy is cut off, which it's not. I refuse to engage further; they really need to refund the money. I also complained on Hellopeter on 21 Oct 2015 and received the below reply on 22 Oct 2015: (TO DATE NO REFUND) Hello penns, Thank you for raising your apprehensions with us. We can understand the frustration caused, but we have referred this query to the accounts department manager to address. We assure you concrete feedback will be given to you with regards to your refund. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the overall experience. The reference number for your query is: [protected] [protected]/GO If you require any further assistance, kindly contact the accounts department on [protected]. Edgars Fashion / Edcon "exclusive to thank you card holders"

Beware of this bogus sign. After buying for over R3000, I was told I'm not eligible for this discount as I should have received a sms with a voucher number to get the discount. This sign clearly say "exlusive to thank u card holders" and not random card holders or card holders which received a sms. Is this the type of service which we should expect from you. Maybe change the card name to thuck you.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon double charge on an item

On the 17th of October I selected a pants and queued for payment. The transaction was processed at the till and payment was successfully made using my debit card. I received an in contact message immediately from FNB indicating that my account had been debited. While waiting for the till slip to be printed the system shut down. According to the manager and cashier my purchase had not gone through on Edgar's' side and therefore I could not take the pants. They were blasé about the whole incident saying the payment would reverse in a few hours or days and if it did not I was to come in with a bank statement to show that the payment was not reversed. Dissatisfied with their mishandling of the situation I called customer care immediately on my cellphone no less. I was told to provide my contact details and the cashier needed to log the incident so that the transaction may be reversed. Both the manager and cashier seemed dumbstruck at this. I badly wanted the pants and so paid for the same one a second time. To date the first payment has not been reversed and no one has contacted me to sort the problem. I contacted customer care yet again but to no avail. Seems like I've been robbed of R200 by Edgars. I'd appreciate it if my money would be returned to me.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon discrimination

My name is Nokuthula Nyuswa. On the 16th of October 2015 I went to Edgars Westville at the Pavillion to shop. I went to pay for my items and proceeded to leave the store. I was stopped by security who just slammed the door and wouldn't let me leave. I asked him if there was a problem and he kept quiet and wouldn't answer me. Another security came and asked me to follow him. I asked him why and he wouldn't answer me, he just said someone requested to see me at the back. I was shown to the control room and asked to strip. I asked why. They told me they suspected I had stolen something. I then asked them why as I wasn't doing anything suspicious, I was shopping like every other customer. They found nothing in my bag or on my person. I asked them why I was targeted for a search and they just kept quiet. I then requested to speak to the Manager. A gentleman called Thabani Maphanga arrived and introduced himself as the Manager. I explained what happened and wanted to find out why I was targeted. He said he could not respond until he had looked at the cameras. He looked at the cameras and found nothing suspicious. I then lodged a complaint of discrimination and unfair treatment as I was obviously targeted for my disability. The only thing they said was that my movement was suspicious. People with disabilities have enough hard times without being victimized simply because I walk different from everyone else. I requested Edgars policy to see if procedure was followed. I was not provided with a copy. I was told my complaint would be addressed Risk manager Rodney and I would be provided with a reference number. Nothing has happened. On the 19th of October 2015 I called Edgars to follow up on my complaint. I spoke to Adrian who said he would attend to my complaint. He did not get back to me. I wish to find out how my complaint will be addressed. I would also like a copy of Edgars policy regarding theft and procedure because I don't think they followed procedure. I have been a loyal customer of Edgars. My account is always up to date. I did not deserve to be targeted and humiliated and become a source of amusement. Do you really think it was unfair? Did they know beforehand of your disability? So if they see someone walk funny, the first thing that comes to their mind is that you stole something and stuffed it in your pants and that is what causes you to walk funny. They were not discriminating against you. Try to see the situation through their eyes.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon terrible, terrible service

I have placed an order with Boardmans online at the end of June this year. My items arrived later than was told and 7 items were missing. The items missing's total was over R700.00. I immediately sent an email to the online email that they give and got a response a few days later saying that they will credit back the amount onto my account. After that I have sent numerous ( over 25 emails), phoned (over 30 times if not more) and this is still NOT SOLVED! I have complained, begged done everything possible, even went into a store but could not be helped. They credited back the (wrong) amount of R233.91 back to my account, which means they still owe me R483.84 as I am still paying interest on that too. As metioned before, I have phoned them more than 20 or 30 times but this is STILL NOT RESOLVED! I have yet again phoned last week and was again told (for the millionth time) that they will get back to me. But still they have not! I have wrote down names, taken numbers done everything on my side possible. I honestly honestly do not know what to do anymore! I have had it with them and will never ever in my life have an account with this pathetic company again!

Boardmans is not prepared for online shopping. The process is sloppy and leaves consumers out of pocket and without the purchased items. The website only updates every 24hours meaning they sell out of stock items, surely they can upgrade to a better programme which does not promote false advertising. The tracking system once the order has been placed is quite poor and the call centre agents, Facebook team and the Edcon customer experience team merely follow a script which says they will get back to you but they never do. Its an awful system that easily takes the money of the consumer without delivering the purchased items or is unable to refund the customer in reasonable amount of time. Surely they are violating the trust and rights of the consumers.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon aircon not working at cosmetic department

20/10/2015: I Had Visitors that I wanted to spoil today buying some Cosmetic etc. while there wanted to pay my Account.To my Surprise the Aircon was not working at the cosmetic department and we could hardly breath of the heat. Left and phoned the manager. Witch gave me an attitude. I am certainly not one of her workers and she could not care less when the problem would be resolved.Samantha wake up call you are the manager and not the owner of Edgars. I know whether you have a Busy month or an Quiet Month your Salary Stays the same, but leave that attitude it is bad for Business. It is us Clients that keep your doors open and that pays your Salary. Its time you realize this. If I should go there and the aircon should still be off I will definitely put this bad attitude on Hellopete. As I Can not believe that Edgars of all People let their staff work in such horrific conditions and expect customers to shop for cosmetics in that horrific heat that we cant almost breathe. But Why should the manager do anything after all she sits under the aircon, waiting for month end to receive her Salary.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon poor service

Good Day, I bought 3 items (Black Skirt, white top and black jacket) from Edgars, Menlyn Branch for a friend on Tuesday, 13 October 2015. When I showed her, she did not like them and I had to return them. Today, 15 October 2015, went back to Menlyn to return the items. I was helped by Nthabiseng Mathigke (1322866), Alida (1339694) and Christine Papo (1312971). The black jacket and white top was accepted but refused to take the black skirt as Christine claims it was worn. I need your assistance as to what I must do as I don't need the skirt. I need refund. Your urgent assistance will be appreciated.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon paid up letter

Edgars took my account to MBDC, they gave me a settlement which I paid it up, the lady promised to give me a paid up letter after finished paying, she sent me to Edgars to get the letter and to my suprised Edgards says I'm still owing therefor will not issue me with a letter, I phoned the attorneys back and they now say it will take them 21 days to reverse the money from Edgards, all I want from them is a paid up letter!

Edgars Fashion / Edcon over size clothing

We have been asking the manager of Edgar's thabazimbi to order clothing for the over size people in thabazimbi but nothing happens it is like they only supply for the skinny people in our town we are a lot of oversize men and women so we are asking please make space or corner for oversize women and men in the thabazimbi Edgar's store. I don't see why we have to drive every time to the big cities to buy clothing if we can buy it in our own town.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon im pissed off!!!

To whom it may concern My name is Zeenat Birtles, I applied for an Edgars thank you card today. However it shows that I had an existing account with Edgars. I had an Edgars account a few years back which I paid up and closed. I was on maternity leave since May up until August 2015 and got paid UIF maternity monies into my bank account and got paid now for the month of September my full salary which reflected on the bank statement. I am extremely upset with the lack of customer service at Edgars in Claremont, firstly I was on lunch applying for an account it took almost my full 1 hour lunch only to find out that they declined my application as I needed a 3 month bank statement which I had provided, but due to me being on maternity leave they have declined my application. what gets to me is that I am indeed a very good payer, why couldn't they do a credit check? or I could have provided them with my latest payslip so that they can see that I am working at my current job for over 2 years already! Now I have to resubmit my application after 3 salaries to get my account active! This is seriously upsetting!
