Dollar General the store appearance and customer service

We just recently moved to the area and have visited the Dollar General located at 5240 SC -9, Green Sea, SC 29545. The first time no one spoke as we entered or as we walked around. The floors were nasty, merchandise every where in the floor. Ttoday we went to pick up a few things and again no one spoke, there was 2 ladies working neith acknowledge we were in the store. This time the store looked worse then the first time. Sime aisle we couldn't even go down because there was big metal carts down them. Lots of stuff thrown in the floor, as you walked around there was numerous empty packages where people had taken the product and left the empty packages. The store smelled bad, the outside banner was hanging off the front of the building, there was trash in front of the store and in the parking lot. I have never been in a DG that looked like this one. The next closes place to us would be a Family Dollar in town, I guess we will have to drive there from now on!

Dollar General conditions of the store

I am writing to discuss my displeasure of the conditions of the Dollar General Store located at 138 W. Chelten Ave . The condition of the store is deplorable. The store is always dirty and unkept, the floors are not clean, there are boxes always in the aisles, the shelves are not stocked and the staff is not professional. I frequent this store because it is in close proximity to my home and the price of items are reasonable but I have decided that I would rather pay more money then to subject myself to these conditions and treatment. I decided to try another Dollar General that is located at 600 W. Chelten Ave and the experience was the same. I started to wonder that maybe the corporate office did not care about the conditions of these two stores because they are located in predominantly African American neighborhoods. I have gone to Dollar General stores in other neighborhoods and states and the experience has been totally different and pleasant. The lack of professionalism in the store is enough to stop anyone from patronizing your establishment.

Dollar General employees closing store earlier than posted time

This complaint is in regards to the Dollar General Store located at 63 Prairie Drive, East Prairie, MO.
For the past month the employees have been locking the door before the scheduled and posted closing times. When something was said to the employees they said that there manager, told them to do it.
This is a huge inconvenience for myself as well as others due to the fact that this DG store is the only retail store open in town now until 10 p.m. Something needs to be done about this where they stay open the posted hours or get a manager in this store who cares about it's customers.

When they close the store and set the security alarm the time is recorded so home office knows they are doing this. If it has been going on for a month there must be an approved reason, or the store would be in trouble for the early closes.

The General Dollar Store Located @ 1051 Blue Hills Ave Bloomfield Ct On October 30th I made of purchase the total price was $ 10.48 cents I gave the associate $9 cash and to add the balance of $1 and 48 cents instead he put the entire amount on my card being the end of the month Every dime count living of S.S. which could lead to a overdraft I spoke with someone from the Corporate office on the 31st did not hear from Jason R until I made another call on November 7th still no call until November 12th Jason stating I may have dropped my money he reviewed the camera he only obesered the card transaction not the cash exchange I'm 69 yrs old have never had any issues when it was a Family Dollar store The Store Has A Thief he took my money how many other people it's called "Cuffing" I'm done shopping where I have to worry thiefs very poor management a DO calls the consumer a LIAR Sad Disgraceful

Dollar General digital coupons

I have had so much trouble with the digital coupons not being taken off my purchases, this is so inconvenient and incorrect. I have loaded so many coupons and even showed them to the cashier and each time I am told there is nothing they can do about it of they dont come off the order they can not take them off my purchase. Well I can tell you this- I am now and will in the future will not purchase the item or items if they do not take the coupon off, and most certainly will limit my shopping at Dollar General due to this inconvenience. I am not the only person complaining about this.
This needs to be taken care of immediately! Don't offer the coupon if you are not going to honor them!

Digital coupons are not controlled at store level, the cashier was not lying there is nothing they can do. Every once and a while you'll find a nice manager that will override but they get in trouble for overrides too so most wont do it. It is just as frustrating for the employees because they are the ones that have to take it from the customers yelling about it. Do the survey and complain

Dollar General how the store looks😡

11-11-2018, Every time I go in dollar general in Maringouin La on 77280 Landry Drive its hard to get to what you need because it has stuff in the way, The store looks so horrible!stuff everywhere it needs to be remodeled to start over again, I put in a application more than once, they just never hired me, I know I could make that store look a whole lot better, they always changing employees as well as managers, they are not organized at all, I had a very hard time looking for what I need to because stuff is everywhere, they need to close that store down & start from stratch, but I'm order for it to work right it's gonna take the right people like me that is dedicated, devoted & determined to be the best!

The reason these stores look this way is because the are understaffed and underpaid.. good employees who care wont stay long because they don't get the hours or pay they deserve. Dg expects a lot of work for very little compensation. So employees give up. But by all means if you think your superwoman keep applying.

Dollar General dirty store/employees parking in what should be customer parking

This store located in Mason, Mi. located on Cedar St. is quite junky looking and I believe they never sweep the floors. There are dirt and papers all over on the floor and most likely never gets mopped. It always has a mess in the isles with garments and products laying in the isles. Empty boxes laying all over. Now I can walk into Family Dollar and right away see a big difference. The floors are clean and it is more inviting looking when you walk in. Also at the Mason, Mi Cedar street store, there are two employee's who are young and could be parking so that customers like me who are old could park a little closer to the store. No! They have to park in the two parking places next to handicap. She drives a beat up rusty old wrecked truck held together with bungycords and is more than able to walk than I. He drives a green blazer. He is also fit. Their cars set there all day taking up what should be customer parking. I do not feel this is right. They should be out where I have to park as a result of their parking in what should be customer parking. I do not feel like giving my business to them even though it is closer to me than Family Dollar. I do hope something is done about this as I have heard lots of complaints about these same issues. What good does it do to complain here if nothing is done about the problem? Which is what I am seeing! The people running them have to report to someone so why aren't the issues addressed? Magic bean comes on and tells the customer they are the lazy one? Give me a break! If the handicap parking is taken and the next old person pulls up and has to walk with a cane, but has to park out because employees chose to park in closest spots, who is lazy and why is nothing done about that? And the store is still dirty? Lazy employees!

I understand I agree with you, they are just being lazy and not moving their cars when the are suppose to. I would do the survey on your receipt it is store specific and in the comments explain. That will get right to their dm. The dm should take care of it for you.

I do know that employees park close to the store in the mornings to open it. It's a safety precaution but once the store is opened and ready for business the employees are suppose to move their cars to the furthest spots from the store. They are also suppose to move close to the store after dark at night again for safety because they are alone in the store once it is closed.

I can understand that but they do not move their cars. This lot is well lite and is small to start with. My point is if handicap is full and if a person is old but does not have handicap, a closer spot should be available.

Dollar General kacy heath (the boss)

Every time I come into this location I never see Kacy (boss) being nice to her employees. She is always yelling at one of them and if she is not doing that she is sitting on her cell phone not usually taking customers and not even working. I understand bosses get onto people for not doing their work, but the way she speaks to her employees and many customers is not what you look for in a boss. She is the rudest person I have ever met. I have spoke to a couple employees and have been told relatively the same thing. She does not treat them the right way. They constantly feel belittled, guilted, and manipulated by her and have the urge to walk out on her when she acts this way. Maybe that's why there is always new people coming and going. I have also been told by at least 3 of the employees the drama is so extensive that's it's like being in middle school again. I hate to see this little store and almost the only store in this town go to shambles because of a bad boss/ employer. I understand the fact of getting on to a employee for a specific reason, but if you HAVE to get on to one of them. Ask them to step in the office or in private and speak to them with respect not in front of several customers (this store is non stop busy). Especially not with the tone of voice and agrivation, disgust, and hatred that Kacy does to her employees. You can tell she has her one favorite, Faith. All the rest get pushed into the ground. Faith is like Kacy she is rude not only to the customers, but feels as if she is the boss. And yells at employees in front of people. I have even witnessed her screaming and cussing at a trucker who in my opinion was not in the wrong. This girl wasn't even working she came into the store dressed in pajamas (no judgement), but doesn't have the right to come in and scream at the two girls working and cuss out the truck driver. I encourage no one to ork at this store it is 100% not worth it. I don't know if I can hold my tongue anymore so I'm trying to stay out of the store if Kacy and/ or Faith is working. Because I feel the need to stand up to her employees when she is being very disrespectful. I of course have 2 people at this location I really like seeing. They are extremely nice and deserve better. They know how to treat one another and the customers right. We need more of them. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect no matter if you are a boss or not. Golden rule especially in customer service treat others how you want to be treated! She needs to learn that or her number one employees will leave.
The store on the other hand is absolutely gorgeous her employees have to do such incredible work to make the store look this good. It is the best DG in southern Indiana. I'm stunned from how good it looks. I just don't understand why the employees get treated like they do!

Dollar General account

I signed up a few months ago for your online app and I have yet to use the app and about a few days ago I received an email of a receipt that I have shopped at the Dollar General when I've been out of town. For someone else using my account without my consent is really Beyond frustrating and I feel betrayed and my privacy being violated. As well due to the fact someone else is using my account so with that being said I would really really gratefully appreciate you deactivating my account

Dollar General gerber baby food

I told the manager of this Newton GA dollar general about the Gerber baby food and tonight when I went in there . there was none on the shelf and I got a 14 month year old son that needs the food. I'm composing complaing on Maria Benton she's the store manager . and Too me that's lack of having it on the shelf . I go in there and spend my money for stuff in there and too me I think she's needs to make sure that it gets put out as much as she can . Cause like u said I couldn't get my son no gerber babyfood tonight cause of it.

My wife entered the above mentioned Dollar General and got into a verbal altercation with one of the cashiers. The cashiers failed to properly notify her that her line was open. My wife asked if the line was open and the cashier abruptly stated "yeah don't it look like it". At that point, my wife and the cashier exchanged words which escalated. The store manager did not attempt to rectify the situation which almost caused the situation to escalate. This store has numerous customer service problems, inadequate amount of staff to cover surge in customers. This frequently leads to irate customers. Over the past couple of years, I have witnessed the level of service dropoff, based on poor communication, inefficient management, unprofessional staff and disorganization. This store is terrible and needs a major overhaul in regards to customer service and professionalism. If this matter is not addressed and I do not see immediate improvements, I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, local Chamber of Commerce and local elected government officials. The cashier was verbally abrusive to my wife and refused to apologize for the misunderstanding. Instead your employee displayed unprofessional which does not represent your organization. The citizens of Randallstown, MD deserve better.

Dollar General male working evening 11/9/18

I shop often at DG and when I could not find the digital coupon for Gain Fireworks, I asked the gentleman working about it. We both looked through my app on my cell. He said he would give me the $2 off when I checked out so I proceeded to do my shopping. When I went to check out, he said he called his manager and she asked if I used it previously. I explained I did not. I am a person of Faith and would not do this. I expected him to honor what he told me that he didn't take the $2 off as he said he would because he should not have said that if he was not going to do it. I handed it back and told him the only reason I was going to buy it was because I saw the sale in the store. He refused to do as he said he would. His name was Gabe and I do not think this is good business practice. I may be taking my business elsewhere as it was offensive. A persons word is their bond and I expect people to do what they say. He did not. I did not appreciate being questioned as though I lied, I did not. Shameful behavior considering I have a huge family and we all shop there. That will be changing after how I was treated.

Dollar General customer service representative

Upon entering the Dollar General store, the cashier was angry and combative . She further stated that I was trying to distract her so my friend could steal. She yelled vulgar words at us and continued to say we were trying to steal. When we purchased what we came in for, she proceeded to cuss us out in front of a line of customers waiting to purchase their goods as well. I believe her actions were terrible and I would also like to believe that this behavior would be unacceptable and against company policy to speak to your customers in this manner. I have never taken merchandise out of any store period in my life and to be degraded and verbally abused in this manner is beyond repulsive . I am upset and I pray you this person is reprimanded appropriately because as of now I do not feel comfortable shopping at that location. I have included a copy of the receipt for your review, so that the person that was so unprofessional could be identified .

Dollar General management

The manager of the new Dollor General in Shingletown,. ca. Is a embarrassment to retail. She brings her child to work with her and lets her play with the toys in the isles and bounce balls in the entrance obstructing customers coming and going. She and a cashier made fun of what a customer was wearing to his face in a very insulting manner in front of other customers. She (the manager Dana) was present out front of store talking to the people as they were performing a drug deal. She's always late for her shifts, which leaves a young lady standing out front of store in the early mornings when its still dark out. I have witnessed that young lady stand out there for almost a hour some mornings before Dana the manager shows up. I feel that is very dangerous for the girl. Most of the time she looks like she just rolled out of bed. Cash register always unattended at first had to yell for her to come check customers out from the office visiting with other employees now there is a bell to ring. Large carts with merchandise are always sitting in isles waiting to be unloaded while she is visiting employees or visitors or just out front smoking. Which I also find offending employees should smoke out of sight of customers not right in front of the store by the doors. I have heard her make racial remarks about people after they have left the store. I worked in retail for 32 yrs and she is a disgrace to her job and your store. I will not shop there anymore ill drive 20 miles to another store before I go into the dollor general in my home town of Shingletown,. ca. There are many other things that I have witnessed that is unprofessional that this woman has done but I don't have time to write them all.

After reading many complaints posted I feel nothing will be done about the management of the Dollar General in Shingletown, .ca. It seems that hiring bad management is a habit for the Dollar Generals threw out the country. Very sad that the company chooses to employ such people to represent their company. Makes me re think where I do my business also wondering which other stores are owned by this corporation that I maybe shopping at because I will not support any business that does not care about their customers. Hoping my complaint was not for nothing.

Dollar General manager

Manager at the Atchison, Ks store is rude, lazy and is not a people person. He has taken all the handicap signs down in front of the store so he can park in front of
the store. He is not handicapped. Store is filthy, there shelves are unbalanced,
meaning they just put items anywhere. You had an ad on this week stating pepsi
was to go on sale Thursday. I went Thursday and the pop came in early so they
sold it on Wed.

Dollar General the manager at my local store. horrible!

I had stuff in my cart that I didn't want or I had picked up just perusing the store killing time. I had put the extras I randomly found and unwanted items up front for them to sort through. The manager went through it and said I had to find the missing items or pay for them but he couldn't help me until I did. he basically accused me of stealing random items out of the pack or I honestly don't know what was going through his head. so some of them I found just by looking through the store and then he said I couldn't leave until the rest was found so I was like fine I'll pay the dollar section items that he was so worried abou! I gave him the $3, yes I said 3, and I did not get my $200 purchase. I had spent quite a lot of time I. The store and was going to spend a good akint of money, like usual. I spent all that time for mothing, I wasn't giving him my money. However I did give him the $3 he was so worried about. He was rude, he was accusatory, unprofessional, he gave a poor example for the clerk watching him. I work in hospitality and don't usually do bad reviews, I know how hard customer service can be but this man was the worst of the worst. He needs disciplinary action, training on how to interact with guests and staff, or you need to find a new manager becsuse I'm sure that is not how you want to be represented or preceived. I mean really he put up that stink and that embarrassment for $3 and I was going to spend 200. Something needs to happen from this I need to hear back, I need this to be even a little bit resolved, so I can let everybody know that it was taken care of. We will no longer use this location and maybe no longer Dollar General. It depends on what I hear back and what the solution is.

Dollar General store # 02566

Store manager is rude and disrespectful to employees. She talks down on all but 3. It's sad that the environment feels so hostile in my favorite store. I feel uncomfortable shopping in there now. I have noticed some of the more friendly and helpful associates are more timid and scared to assist. The amount of uncleanliness has increased since the new manager took over. The new cashier isn't very helpful or friendly. I think her name is Shelia. I also witnessed her and the manager talking down on one of the employees and you could tell they hurt her but they just laughed. April one of the employees spends more time talking and standing around then working and she has more than once brought a child to work with her

Dollar General 70 yr. old having I d checked.

My wife today went to buy wine at the Dollar General in Citrus Springs Fl. and was asked for her I D. She is 70 years old. I could see if she was in her 20' s but 70 years old. She didn't want to go back out to her car so the man behind her thought it was so stupid. He showed his I D and she paid for it. How is that legal when the clerk knew it was for her? I told her she should have left and bought the wine down the street even if it cost more. Why bother going to a store where a customer gets harassed like this? Also there was some flannel shirts on sale. Last week they were buy 1 and get 1 free but today they said 20% off. My wife asked for the price but the clerk could care less about helping her. He was not busy. Just had 1 other customer in the store. What customer service. I think something needs to be done about the service and this clerk that could care less.

Its corporate policy and also the law that employees must check IDs on every customer regardless of age before buying alcoholic beverages. If they don't they could get fired or go to jail.

Dollar General employee

The other night I visited dollar general on carterville road in petal, Mississippi. After asking the very rude cashier to see how much an item I had was, she literally started laughing and making fun of my friend who could not afford the item in front of an entire line of people. This is extremely pathetic and am very disappointed that someone like this is still employed there.

I work for dollar general. With that being said, we as employees aren't personal shoppers or there to help you use coupons or put up with abuse from customers. Maybe, just maybe, if the general public that shops at dollar general were a better breed of person "and by saying that I mean, nice, and thankful for the services we provide and the hard work that it takes to keep a store up and running instead of expecting the world to be handed to you on a silver platter." your shopping experience would be better.

Dollar General store location

I drive to my home in gorham ill several time a year and there not one dollar store in this location. This is a large rural area and there is no store close. The last one i see is at anna ill and the next one would be in ava ill. I shop at the dollar store sometimes two to three times a week it it is a fine store but i din't like having to care a lot of food items with me when i travel to my home in ill. So i see a large chance to have a store rt. 3 in ill.

You should contact someone at corporate and explain it to them. Maybe they'll take it into consideration and have a new store built closer to your home.

Dollar General cleanliness

It was very nice to have a new store when this store was built but it started to go downhill very fast. The store is very cluttered you cannot get down any aisle at any time of the day you cannot find any help. All of the clerks and managers are always on their cell phones outside when you pull up no one is in the store every single time they are on their cell phones and smoking a cigarette out front when you try to check out you stand in line forever waiting on them to come back inside to check you out. The lines are super long because no one is at the register to check you out because they're smoking or on their cell phones. I can not get down the aisles at any time of the day morning, middle of the day, or night. These are not just stocking times but they have everything sitting there like they are stocking shelves but the junk is falling all over the floor and I cannot get around I have to go back around to get something on each side of the aisle I cannot go down the aisle completely it is ridiculous it is so embarrassing and just disgraceful to have a store like that and I feel like you should know about it and something should be done especially after it was such a nice store to begin with.

Not true. I knew that would be the excuse. This is like this every single day. I can go in that store and it looks that way every day any time. Has been for 6 months almost. I'm not making this up. It is like this every single day. And not just stocking as I stated. Junk in all in the floor. Not to mention. I stated how the managers and clerks are always outside smoking while I wait at the register. And on their cell phones gossiping while checking me out. It's getting worse. But of course my first complaint wasn't taken serious as I thought.

You do know the this is an open forum and dollar general doesn't monitor this site. If you want to complain do the survey or call customer service. But they don't care that is why there is no staffing and the ones who are there have a tendency to give up and not care. If the company doesn't care enough to give the correct support to its stores the employees cant to much

Looks like truck day and trying to set Christmas. And since stores run on a very low budget for payroll there is usually only a couple people there at a time. This is not employee choice, this is the hand they are dealt. A little patience from customers while they work through it would be great, but I guess understanding is to much to ask for.. stores are not perfect 100% of the time.
