Canada Post / mail delivery

I live in an apartment building. I was not home when a package I was expecting from Amazon.ca arrived worth nearly $200. The normal procedure is for the individual to leave a 'pick up your parcel' notice so that I might retrieve the package when I got home. INSTEAD, I found my $200 worth of goods simply propped up against the outside of my door in a very public hallway. I do not know, or trust the building manager here, or my neighbours as I've had too many issues with them in the past. It's beyond a miracle that someone simply didn't walk by and take my items as there's no video monitoring or accountability in this building whatsoever. I suppose if it had gone missing I would have just been told that I had to replace the items I bought on my own dime, right?! This is simply not acceptable. An apology for this lapse in judgement and service would be nice, but oddly enough, not really expected.
