American Income Life / Deceptive business practices

Eric Giglione and David Ackerman are New Jersey SGA's for American Income Life. They will hire just about anyone who has a pulse just as long as the employee can pay the $300 fee for "classes and training". They Have new employees call names that have obtained from websites such as "Monster" and "Careerbuilder". They lie about positions available with the company. In reality, the only position available is selling insurance. If you jump through all the hoops and actually make it out as a independent agent, the "qualified leads" they provide you with are often several years old. Most leads are older people who are too sick or financially strapped to purchase insurance. AIL heavily promotes their "Child Safe Kit" which is just a ploy to gain entrance into houses to try and sell insurance to unsuspecting individuals. When I worked for this company I visited with people who were in no position financially to buy insurance... some couldn't even afford to pay their electric bills. The company will often send agents into dangerous and low income areas. If you do manage to sell insurance policies, wait 4 months before you spend your commissions. If a policy holder drops their policy within 4 months of taking the policy out, The company takes your commissions you made on those sales back. Policy lapses are quite common due to the nature of the individuals you are selling to and the quality of the policies. Be very careful if you receive a call from this company. SGA's like Eric Giglione can afford to drive Ferraris because they make money off of other peoples hard work.

    I currently work with American Income Life in the Chicago branch. I have no complaints about the way that they're running my specific agency. it is true that they hire just about anybody to try what we do. This job is not for everyone but only for those who have patience and determination to not let outside factors affect the way they are going to do their job. I have currently been here for a year and a half and I love the people I work with and could not choose a better working environment at my office

    Wow I am so glad that I'm smart enough to do my research on a Company before going in to interview with them. Ok so I received a call from a lady this morning saying she saw my resume online and that I was chosen out of hundreds of people who resumes she reviewed and that I will be the perfect fit. I have no experience which was a red flag. She then explained to me that the Company was rated the best Company to work by the Plain dealer and so on and so on. Anyway she first started off by saying that she want me to come in for a interview for a management position. Then asked if I had any management experience, I told her no then she It was ok because they'll train me. So she then asked me to hold while she see if they had any openings available for a interview. After holding for about 10 seconds she then say she have great news, they have openings for the up coming Thursday at 9:30 am and to make sure I show up because I was chosen out of hundreds of people and that the head honcho some guy named Matt parks was looking forward to meeting me. She then goes on to say that this is for a retail position which I then got confused because before she told me that it was for a manager position. The whole conversation was strange that's exactly why I decided to do my research on this Company which I always do for any Company that calls me in for a interview just to be aware. I'm so.glad that I found this site of reviews before wasting my time.

    I love this last comment about "im so glad I did my research". The only people who post negative reviews are the people who were not successful. I have been with the company for 19 months and my first year I made 80k and this year I am on track to do over 120k. This opportunity has completely changed my families life. My fiancé and 3 children could not be happier that I have a career that offers the kind of income we need to survive and save. We are a life insurance company, and if you have ever worked for a different one you would know that normally there are no leads you cold call and bother friends and family. We are lucky to have leads and not cold call, and they are from people who hand filled out a card " it doesn't get any better then that!" So yes, you have to work hard and long hours to get what you want, SO WHAT! The problem these days is everyone wants something for nothing. There are over 8 million people in this state, if you don't want to work a urban area then don't! I understand this is not for everyone, but I just hate people bashing a company that literally has changed my life and so many others, and we do it by helping people. You see negative reviews about the job, but what you never see is negative reviews from the customers, and why is that? Because we pay, and we pay quickly. When it comes to owning a Whole life insurance policy, if its not from American Income your most likely over paying. oh and by the way, Eric Giglione can afford to drive nice cars because he busted his ### for over 35 years to get there, he didn't sit behind a key board waiting for someone to hand him something. Come to the Eatontown office and ill show you my W-2, then try to tell me this isn't a incredible opportunity!

    I was called by a woman who said she was reaching out after finding my resume on Monster. She said one of the partners was interested in interviewing with me. I was hesitant to take the interview - I inquired if this was a "cattle call" or if it was for an employee full time status position with a salary, I was assured it was. BS on all...Then one of the partners called me after the "drink the Kool-Aide" type of rah-rah session and acted like a complete bully. Everything I asked before accepting the interview was completely lied about. Who in their right mind would sell a product or have any faith or belief in a company that lies to you about your interview and then refuses to clarify or confirm the details that they give during the "drink the Kool-Aide you stupid sheep"sales pitch to their 1099 only sales people...SALES PERSONS BEWARE...CUSTOMERS BEWARE...I have my concerns that the actual insurance product exists, as everything else from their mouths had been lies...

    If this company is 1/10th as good as the try to convince people they are...Try treating your applicants like human beings...I call BBBBAAAAAHHHHHH [censored]...
