Clayton Homes review: mobile home

I purchased a mobile home, 2010 mobile, from Clayton Homes in Paducah, KY. First they promised a 2 week delivery, which turned into 2 months. They never put the underlayment under the mobile, they never sealed all the open holes around the plumbing, furnace, etc. The mice literally invaded my home. The mobile home was nothing but problems. The thin 3/8 drywall had cracks throughout the entire mobile ceiling's. The bath tubs were cracked, they never chaulked around the sinks or showers, the paper cabinets were all pilling within a few months, the laminate flooring had a nail left under it. After they repaired that, they never used quarter round, now the floor is lifting up. The furnace blower had to be replaced within the first 2 months. The roofing has loose shingles, the siding started falling off, the doors are so cheap they don't seal and water leaks in them, so now they are rusted. The kitchen counter tops were cracking due to the fact that they forgot to router the edges. The whole mobile is a complete peice of junk. It takes weeks for them to answer and sometimes you have to constantly call back. The "buck" gets passed and now after a year, the warranty is up. I called and they said it's like a car, "You get 1 year". There are other thing wrong with my mobile but the list can go on. I just want to warn others! I just don't want other peole to waste time and money. I guess we should all do our research before purchasing any high dollar items. Now that the law has changed...you are charged the same taxes on a mobile that you are for a stick home. The law was passed Jan. 2011 in Illinois. Keep that in mind when thinking of purchasing a mobile home. They are convinent but the cheapest of everything is used in them. They are not worth the money. Stay away from Clayton Homes, lot's a BS sales people with empty promises and very low quality.
