My husband and I signed up for a future cruise (Sept 2026) while on board a Caribbean cruise in Jan 2025. The booking invoice and amounts owed were given to us on paper and included in the Celebrity app.
When I attempted to complete the boarding process for our cruise 3 weeks prior to departure,I was informed that I owed and additional $922 and that an email was sent indicating this amount.
The email was resent to me but there was no date noted anywhere even though the email specifically referred to a date "indicated". The email stated this was due to "policy changes" - which for me was no explanation at all. The customer service agent also didn't adequately explain the extra charge.
If this charge were included with our trip, why was it not noted in the app where I paid for everything else?
What is the purpose in making future bookings when Celebrity can attach any additional fees with no recourse?
Desired outcome: Refund or at least give the amount towards a future cruise.
