Oceania Cruises Poor customer service

We had trip booked on Oceania and unfortunately my treatments conflicted with our cruise and with one on Viking. Viking quickly and completely refunded our payments as did the airlines But Oceania just ignores us and our attempts to resolve this. No one with authority will even speak to me. They offered a very small credit on a future cruise via email and that is all. I am very unhappy with their total lack of caring and refusal to even talk to me

Recommendation: Use Viking. Or Windstar They care about and respond to customers.

To whom this may concern regarding Oceania Cruises, My wife and I recently returned from a cruise on the Nautica, Israel to Venice 10/5/23-10/27/23. We flew into Tel Aviv international airport on Delta on 10/5/23, arrangements made by Oceania Cruises, and from that point and until we where allowed to embark on the ship, faced many preventable challenge...

We booked this cruise on Oceania Riviera several months ago primarily because it went to ports such as Muscat. Khasab, Fujairah that my wife (who is a historian) wanted to see.   Now, two days after the cancellation policy would result in 75% fee, the cruise line announces that it decided to cancel all these 3 ports (out of 6 ports in the cruise, i.e...

Oceania Cruises Medical center

On Oct 11 while aboard Insignia my wife sought help with two minor medical issues. First was a cough and nasal drainage issue Second a bandaid was needed for a scrapped elbow. Her vital signs were taken, a Covid test was taken even though she was fully vaccinated. She was given two midsized bandaids. She did not see the doctor (she was told they would call her later to see the doctor, but never did). There was no price list; otherwise had she seen the possible charges (new patient $69, Covid test $249, & bandaids $29) she would not have sought services! I later when in the Med Center and asked for a price list. They were either unwilling or unable to produce one!

Desired outcome: All charges ($376) taken off my bill. I have already spent more than 2 hours trying to resolve the issue onboard.

Oceania Cruises A recent cruise experience. Reservation # 3332193

Good Day,

We recently took a cruise with your cruise lines under reservation # 3332193. The ship was very nice. The last night of the cruise I got sick and had to call the sick bay. I passed out in our bathroom and couldn't get back up. They took me to the sick bay and tried to find out what was wrong with me. The next morning I got a bill for $3,083 for their services. I waited until now to bring this to your attention because I have been consulting with my insurance company and my attorney. We believe that I was grossly over charged for these services to the point of gouging. We believe that the correct charges should be $1,948.23. I think it is only fair to give you the opportunity to make this right before I contact American Express and or continue with my attorney.

Desired outcome: A refund of $1,135.26 back to my American Express card.

Oceania Cruises Member [protected]. The wrong credit card was used for the extra charge of $7000. The new card has a travel insurance, the charged one does not!

To whom it may concern;

This complaint is regarding our recent dismal experience with Oceania cruise on Riviera, Legends of Ireland, and Scotland with embarkation date June 29th, 2023. The extra charge of $7,000 was placed on the wrong credit card. The requested card has travel insurance coverage. Oceania must accept responsibility for its error.

We completed two trips with Oceania previously and also scheduled a 4th cruise later this year. We loved the prior two cruises especially to the attention to service. We were very impressed after our first Mediterranean tour. We convinced our friend group to travel only on Oceania in the future. The next cruise we took with our friends was to South America in December of 2021. The cruise was during one of the worst COVID outbreaks. The service was incredible and despite changing the itinerary and ending the tour earlier, we were pleased with the incredible service and attention to our health and

wellbeing.

During our recent Oceania cruise on Rivera the fare was OLIFE choice which included round trip airfare from Los Angeles –London – Los Angeles. For your information, in addition to the above-named cruise we planned a private land tour in France for another week and fly to Los Angeles on July 16, 2023. Oceania arranged the exchange of the tickets from London - Los Angeles to Paris - Los Angeles. We paid an additional air fee (the custom air tickets and the air differential fee). We paid ourselves for the tickets from London to Paris.

Unfortunately for us, my husband became ill with Covid on Day #2 of the trip. While we understand the need for isolation, Lyudmila Preys was left confined in the room with Alex Preys without so much as the beds being separated until we were both sick with COVID. We stayed in in isolation from July 02 to July 09. Sitting in one room, eating, and sleeping in one bed was a prime reason for me to get sick. Science proved that spread of Covid depends on time spent with the infected person. It is better for an uninfected person to spend minimum time with the infected. Oceania policy should follow recent science and protect the uninfected spouse.

Considering our age, we decided not to jeopardize our health and to fly home by the end of the cruise on July 09. The agent who made a prime cruise reservation was not able to change the flight tickets, and the Oceania main office recommend to work with the Riviera concierge. We contacted Rivera concierge Nicola, and his reply was (after he contacted Oceania main office) as follows:

• Oceania cannot exchange tickets from Paris-Los Angeles to London-Los Angeles flight.

• No reimbursement or credit for cancelled Paris-Los Angeles tickets.

• Riviera Concierge cannot help us to book a hotel in London to recuperate our health.

• New tickets cost $7,000 for coach class. We signed a paper for the amount, although we never saw the final price. The large and round number is very suspitous.

• We were not allowed to use the previously purchased transportation from Riviera to the airport.

• We were forced to arrange a private taxi by ourselves. Rivera Concierge refused to do any of it for us.

We were upset with his reply, and it was very different from our prior Oceania experiences, but we were left without any option but to comply. We asked for only one condition: Please charge all the ticket expenses to a specific card. I even signed a paper/request for all outstanding charges from the cruise and especially for plane tickets to go on a Saphire Reserve credit card. This card provides us with additional travel insurance. The outstanding cruise expenses were NOT charged to Saphire card, the new air tickets ($7000) were charged to another card WITHOT MY PERMISSION. The tickets were left without any travel insurance coverage despite our request. Oceania must accept responsibility for the airplane tickets that were erroneously charged to the wrong card.

Oceania claiming to be the best service provider and catering to people over 60, must choose more compassionate service people. Nicola was not a compassionate person, and his attitude and actions were rude, aggressive, and raised voice are equivalent to elder abuse.

We rely on your help to make our situation less painful.

The final payment for December cruise in 2023 is approaching (September15 approx). Please resolve our problem ASAP.

Sincerely,

Mila Preys

Desired outcome: Please refund extra charges done on Oveania errorous charges to a wrong card. Please traine the service personnale

Oceania Cruises Airport transfer fees when booking own travel

First of all, Oceania customer service staff needs training. On several occasions when I called, I was provided with misleading information.

I signed up for a cruise to Antartica in February 2024. Oceania doesn't offer "gateway" air travel from Pensacola, Florida so I had to book my own flights or pay another $199 per person charge for "custom" air fare, which is ridiculous as Pensacola offers convenient, reliable flights on a regular basis to Santiago, Chile with major air carriers like American and Delta.

Your customer service agent said I would receive a $1,400 per person air travel credit but neglected to tell me I would be charged airport transfer fees of $158 per person, so in reality Oceania isn't offering $1,400 per person air travel credit, which is false advertising. To be clear, if Oceania books our airfare, airport transfers are complimentary but if we have to book our own air fare, we have to pay the transfer fee, which they don't explain outright.

I don't understand why we are charged extra for airport transfer fees when booking our own travel when you don't offer "gateway" service from any other airport other than Orlando or Tampa. Oceania is nickeling and diming us on everything and this is the second time we've cruised with them. This will be our last time.

Desired outcome: I am requesting Oceania to waive the airport transfer fees of $158 per person or $316 for my wife and me.

Oceania Cruises Booking Number 3303719

We booked a cruise on 5th of July, 2022, we called on January 27th, 2023 and paid for Custom Air and requested a flight from MCO to Gatwick for July 1st , on flight number BA2038.

We sent an email back to custom air to accept this flight. The email was sent on January the 28th at 7:58am to accept this flight.

I pulled up this flight on our BA account and saw that this flight was booked.

We just received our final paperwork today from Oceania to find out that we did not receive this flight and was told that we have to pay another $3,248.00 to book the same flight, to only change back to the original flight that should have been book on January 27th 2023.

Obviously, we a very upset about this mistake.

We have done nothing wrong; we only followed your directions and yet, we are

the ones being punished.

We would like the opportunity to talk to someone about this mistake.,

Please call us with a resolution.

Desired outcome: Refund or Credit

Oceania Cruises Telephone support, length of time left waiting

We are booked on 2 back to back cruises with Oceania departing Rome 24th April and seven days later on 4th May from Athens to Istanbul.

For the first week we have received the Official Document pack, but nothing for the second week. No list of excursions, baggage tags etc.

As we are leaving the UK on 23rd April privately for a stay in Rome I decided to ring Oceania UK today 19th April to enquire about the second pack. After 32 minutes on hold, I gave up and called the number in the US where I was told the wait for an agent would be approx 25 mins.

On Oceania’s website they give telephone numbers for ‘immediate assistance’. I do not consider a 32 minutes wait for ‘immediate assistance’ acceptable. If they are taking this many calls they need more staff on the telephones. I wonder how the CEO Frank J Del Rio would feel about that sort of wait?

I still do not have our second week’s Official Documentation pack, just a lot of frustration. So what do I know do? An answer from Oceania would be good, as I am a customer/client I am very disappointed with this organisation so far!

Desired outcome: An Official Document pack for our cruise, Ref no. 3365502, Marina departing Athens 4h May 2023

Oceania Cruises Dazzling down under cruise

I am writing to convey my extreme disappoinment with the Dazzling Down Under cruise my wife and I purchased through Go Next Travel (booking #3289629) that embarked from Sydney January 16, 2023. During the planning phases of our trip, all of my inquiries to Oceania were referred back to Go Next, so I have first tried to address my unhappiness with them, but have received virtually no useful communication prompting my decision to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm now hoping a direct appeal to you will produce satisfactory results. The cruise was significantly flawed by the apparent inability of the captain to meet New Zealand biosecurity requirements to the extent that two port calls were cancelled, Tasmania and Christchurch, NZ. In addition, there were several other disruptions in our planned shore excursions resulting in pricing changes for those that were arranged before the cruise. The incompetence of those responsible has already been admitted by Oceania by the offering of a discount on a future Oceania cruise of 25% of the value of the fare paid for Dazzling Down Under. This is an inadequate offer.

Desired outcome: The fare paid was $20,598. 25% of this is $5,149.50. Please refund this amount for what was already promised by Oceania, and not received. I'm happy to speak with anyone who wishes to engage and would like a response as soon as possible.

Oceania Cruises Additional hotel night for cruise - $1200

Dear Oceania cruises:

My husband and I are taking our 3rd cruise with Oceania March 11-23. We have booked the additional 3-day land package. Unfortunately, i could not get air back to Denver until the following day. So, I asked to book an additional night. I signed up, and the price quoted with $589 per person. (My husband and I). I agreed to it, and then received a notice today that they were charging me for the transfer to the Tokyo airport.

I called again, and spoke with Mr. Alvarez. He said a) there was not an additional charge on my account (there was this morning) I knew the price and accepted it... Yes, that is true, but right now I want to cancel this exorbitant fee of almost $1200 for a HOTEL ROOM. I asked him what the hotel was and he thought it was Tokyo Hilton. It seems there are many Hiltons in Tokyo. I wanted to see what the Hotel would charge me. He didn't know which one! Unfortunately we have learned of many additional fees - and our airfare is very high as well. This is putting a damper on the whole trip. If I could cancel it I would.

Desired outcome: Please provide a reason for this $1200 charge for one night in the same hotel that I would have spent the last 3 nights in. I would like to cancel this addition, and get my own hotel. Mr. Alvarez says this is not possible.

Oceania Cruises Not honoring a shipboard credit that was advertised on line

The original booking number was 3378761. On 12/1/22 we tentatively booked an owners suite on Vista - 12 day Tropical Connoisseur. The total cost was 37,615.60 (insurance and air included) The ad on line said shipboard credit of $800. When I received my confirming email the shipboard credit was $600.00. I called and the agent told me he saw the $800 on line so would have to check a supervisor and have him/her call me back.

No one called by the next day so I called and I don't believe anyone was ever going to call. By that time the online ad had been changed to show $600.00. I talked to my representative and his supervisor and was told you will not honor the original add and referred me to your terms and conditions reflecting you are not responsible for typographical errors. He offered me a bottle of wine.

I said if he could not honor the original ad, I wanted to cancel. I can not believe you will give up a $35,000 sale for $200.00. And it was an insult to offer a bottle of wine in an owners suite. My complaint is Oceania being so inflexible as to not honor an advertised price. The worst thing a customer can hear when there is an error is, "It"s company policy and I can't do anything about it".

It's unbelievable that your supervisors have no authority to make an adjustment to satisfy a customer.

I am so disappointed in Oceania and it was my favorite cruise line up until now.

Oceania Cruises Air Scheduling

Paid premium to Oceania for business class air, Dallas to Dubai, for cruise beginning December 7, 2022. Arrangements made by Oceania include layover of 9.5 hours -- NINE AND ONE-HALF HOURS -- in Toronto. I can live with, and expected, a plane change somewhere along the route. But NINE AND ONE-HALF HOUR LAYOVER at an airport built into the itinerary! There are a number of acceptable alternatives, but Oceania has been unwilling to consider any of them without a 5-figure upcharge. Yes, $10,000 upcharge. Hours on the telephone, but can't get beyond a reservations agent. No other Oceania contact information available.

ENFriedman

[protected]@texarkanalegal.com

Desired outcome: I would like more realistic (pleasant) air schedule, Dallas to Dubai. I don't mind paying a little more and I don't mind going through Toronto, and don't mind a reasonable layover. I didn't choose Toronto. Oceania did.

Oceania Cruises Value Added Taxes

Nautica 09/04/2022 Booking #3158520. My spouse and I were on the cruise and filed a VAT request for refund. We sent the original copy of the receipts. as requested. I personally turned them into the ships steward with the Israeli government official right there with him on 09/05/2022 when requested to do so. I was told it would take 30 - 45 days from the end of the cruise for the refund to occur and it would be done so electronically to the credit card on file for the ship. It has now been 53 days and no refund has occurred. Please check your records and explain when I will receive my VAT refund. Please respond as soon as possible.

Desired outcome: Refund VAT taxes spent in Israel.
