On the 25th of october I made a online purchase of 0.99 us cents on my tyme bank card unfortunately the transaction declined(I have proof) I then erased that account and replaced the account with my capitec credit card details, I admit that i did not re check the amount when prompted to accept the transaction, so when capitec send me a message to say that R1624.94 was deducted and I panicked and telephoned the fraud department immediately and spoke to a lady who was not very helpfull and I tried to explain that I did not agree to purchase a product for 99.00 usd but 0.99 us cents she told me to wait 30 days to see if I received the item obviously I was not keen but felt that I had no option, I then made peace that my R1624.94 was stolen but as soon as I ended the call with the lady the very same merchant deducted another amount of R2430.17, I immediately phoned fraud department again and a very helpful gent then advised me to dispute both transaction and he did that for me and stopped my card. Today 02 February I received my reference no144595341 and that I must wait 30 days as per Mastercard agreement, maybe on the 1st transaction I would have still agreed but what about the 2nd transaction where this merchant proved to be a fraudster? I have not received any correspondence from the fraudulent merchant up to today and only received the sms from Capitec. Why could these transactions not being stopped when I reported them why did Capitec honour payment?
