I subscribed to a trial period for C-Date as it was advertised as a legit and successful dating site. The initial trail fee was £2.80 but as I went through checkout I was charged £9.90 this was the first red flag. Upon accessing the platform, it became immediately obvious the accounts are fake and the whole thing is illegitimate. As I was annoyed at the misrepresentation of the website I sought to cancel my membership. Section 6. (2) of their terms and conditions clearly state fee-based members can cancel their subscription with a refund if the withdrawal of contract email is sent within 14 days. They have a free template on the website to use, which I did on the same day of subscribing. However, after reading reviews it became apparent that this was a scam and the countless other victims all said they tried this step with no success. They all say they eventually get charged obscene fees and have debt collection agencies harassing them for unpaid fees. I immediately reported this website to UK Fraud & Cyber crime and reported it to my bank, but I now worry I am stuck in something I cant get out of and that is only going to hurt me
Cdate have now emailed me ([protected]@c-date.co.uk) to inform me that my subscription has been cancelled and will naturally expire on 16/12/2020 and will incur no more charges. I consider this a satisfactory resolution to the issue and believe the matter to be resolved

16/11/2020 - signed up for Cdate premium membership to find out the whole website is a fake. Was immediately overcharged upon signing up (advertised at less than £3 for one month subscription/trial, was charged £9.90). After these 2 red flags I did research on trust pilot and found hundreds of anecdotes exactly the same as mine, calling the company a huge scam. Apparently C date do not let customers cancel or withdraw their subscriptions even though their terms and conditions CLEARLY state they can, and end up charging people obscene fee's for nothing and involving debt collectors to intimidate people into paying for nothing. I have emailed c date with no response, and sent a letter clearly expressing my desire to withdraw membership As per their terms and conditions but am worried I am going to get slapped with a bill for a complete scam. I would very much like C date to confirm that my subscription is cancelled immediately and no further charges will be incurred.
