Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Massive Negative Changes

I have been away from Texas for 19 years. I came back to Leesburg to find Brookshires had none of the quality or trusted products I was getting in Utah. It was in fact row after row of mostly processed, " low end " food items that I will not have in my house. In the 1980s the Brookshires near tyler were fabtastic stores with the best beef in the state. This is all gone, and apprently the local will accept all of this. Its pitiful. I can get very few things in the Pittsburg store because they simply do not have it. Its a very sad commentary.

Every month I go to Brookshires at 5828 Line Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana in the first week of the month to get my rent check in the form of a Money Order. Every month, 50% (that's right 50%) of the time I am told "the machine is down". How many others pay their rent on the first of the month with a Money Order. I usually shop when I go to Brookshire...

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Pharmacy

3/6/23-I have been a loyal customer of Brookshires Pharmacy in DeRidder La for over 15 years. The last several times I have had my prescriptions re-filled the girl at the drive thru window has been extremely rude. Today was no exception and in spite of the fact that I called in my prescription a little after 8:30AM I was rudely told it wasn't ready and would not be ready even though I told them I would be there on my lunch hour to pick it up. That is the only time I have when I am off work. I told her that I did not get off in time to pick them up in the evening as they close before I got off. She shrugged her shoulders and said if we bump you ahead of others that's not fair. I do understand that and am not asking for preferential treatment but I did call in plenty of time for them to be ready by noon and would appreciated a little professional courtesy and customer consideration. I will be transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy.

Desired outcome: Don't have any desired outcome just think that you should know.

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Self-Checkout

Went to Brookshire's #57. Used a credit card at the Self-Checkout machine. Payed for my food. Went over and waited for my medicine I received a text that the card I just used at the self-checkout had just been used "somewhere up in the Northeast" text back NO, wasn't me. I didn't just drive 2400 miles in the last 5 minutes. Then she said come on over, your meds are ready. Payed for the medicine with a different credit card. Had no problem with that one. So, guess I'll have to go back to only grocery shopping and getting my medication at Kroger's only. Never had this issue with them and I have only switched in the last year or so. But Brookshire's has now cost me 25.00$ for another card. The hassle of going through all this crap and at 60 years I don't need the headaches. Hope Yawl catch-Umm

Desired outcome: 25$ for the card cost

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Customer service

Brookshires - Quinlan, Texas on Sat, 9/10/22 at approximately 2:40 pm. I had just signed up for a thank you card and was attempting to self-checkout. The clerk on duty at the self checkout (DK) was completely rude and unwilling to assist with the issues with the self-checkout computer not accepting the thank you card numbers. She was completely dismissive, and quite frankly, appeared to be dissatisfied at having to be on duty as a self-checkout cashier.

The manager on duty was able to assist by keying in a different phone number into the system in order for me to get the item discounts.

This individual needs to be counseled on effective customer service, and that a smile and willingness to resolve an issue goes a long way at keeping customers happy. I just moved out to the Quinlan area, and based upon this experience, it makes me NOT want to shop at this location.

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Customer Service in the Pharmacy

3/7/2022 @ 11:30am

My family has been using the pharmacy @ store #37 9250 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71118.

After the incident with employee rudeness today, we will be changing pharmacies. I do not feel it is necessary to be cut off when I am trying to politely ask questions about my prescription. When a customer is speaking with a pharmacy tech and they are rude and start talking on the phone and don't let you finish asking about the information you need, you are made to feel very inadequate. Also, if there is an issue with your prescription, you are not notified.

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Brookshire’s citrus diet green tea 12 pk

Monday, December 13th 2021 I ordered a case of this brookshire's citrus diet green tea from my local store. After opening a bottle and I noticed the most disgusting smell. After inspecting the bottle I noticed something floating in the water. It appears to be a piece of mold. I am so upset as I loved these drinks very much. I have never had anything like this happen to me before and the experience was quite unpleasant. I can still smell that nasty smell..

Desired outcome: Whatever you decide is necessary or right

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Brookshire's Pharmacy, location- Store #18, Address: 5828 Line Ave, Shreveport, 71106, Louisian,a Phone: [protected]

To Whom It May Concern,

Regarding that subject, I am becoming more and more convinced that my concerns regarding irresponsible and neglectful treatment as a 20 plus year consumer at the Line Avenue Brookshires Pharmacy in Shreveport, are of no concern to anyone on the receiving end of them. This writing represents at least the 4th or 5th of said correspondence, as well as, a call placed to the Corporate Office, and after several month's lapse, has yet to be returned.

Firstly, but not least filed complaint was regarding a pervasive problem involving a Pharmacist named Clay (unsure as to last name; however, he is the only Pharmacist named Clay at Store #18, the Line Avenue branch). The pervasiveness of this problem, in and of itself represents a wildly audicious departure from any and all Pharmaceutical Codes of Conduct and/or Ethics; such so that it leaves one wondering if indeed such a Code even exists in all but a perfunctory sense. Specifically the first occurrence of the issue being referred to in this matter involves the Pharmacist named Clay of Store #18, and an incident about 2 years ago (specific dates were noted by prescribing physician, Brookshire's Cooperate Office, and The LA State Board of Pharmacy), involving the very dramatic shorting of the number of pills in a controlled substance prescription. The medication involved is Ativan which I have been prescribe for the treatment of Essential Tremors, which become very noticeably debilitating without said medication. A couple of days after recieving my prescription, I noticed that the amount of pills in the bottle seemed to be markedly fewer than the prescribed 120 count. Upon performing an actual count of the contents, it was revealed that there were 52 pills remaining after only two days passing since receiving the prescription. Requiring only minimal deducement, it was obvious that after taking the prescribed amount of 4 pills per day, for 2 days, I was left with only 52 pills, instead of the 112 that should have remained in the bottle; had the prescription been filled as ordered, with a count of #120 pills. The pharmacist that incorrectly filled this prescription was named Clay at Store #18 in Shreveport. Upon discovering the mistake, I immediately called the phamacy and spoke directly with Clay the pharmacist, inquiring what could be done about this issue, that would pose a more significant health concern for me later into the month as I would run short of the prescribed amount, thereby increasing the liklihood of either tremors or withdrawal symptoms, or both; not to mention, due to Ativan's controlled nature, the shortage created a prescribing issue for the doctor, as well as, being an issue for me, the patient, as I would be unable to get an early refill and would run out of the medication well in advance of the normal date of refill. Upon laying all of these concerns on the table, Clay the pharmacist denied any fault on his part and could not offer any assistance on the matter. I immediately called my physician, Dr. Wayne Barksdale, who had his nurse contact the pharmacist at Store #18, named Clay, but again was met with an unwillingness to admit fault, and subsequently no assistance on the matter. I then contacted the Corporate Office of Brookshires and reported the incident. I am unclear as to the exact actions taken by Corporate Brookshires as far as an investigation, but suffice it to say that I was provided with 60 count of Ativan to complete the original prescription at no additional cost, with no additional required intervention by my physician. When I picked up the medication, I was advised by one of the other pharmacists at Store #18, named Kent, that he was asked by Corporate as to his knowledge as to what occurred regarding the shortage of 60 Ativan pills and he indicated that he replied to Corporate's question that he had dealt with my wife and I through the pharmacy for years, and if we said we were shorted, then we were shorted, because that's the type of people we were and he had never had any issue of this nature of any sort with us in all the 15 plus years of our involvement with STORE #18. The handling of this serious issue by Brookshire's Cooperate and Kent the other pharmacist at Store #18 were both exemplary; however, the Pharmacist name Clay at Store #18 was fraught with denial, obsfication, and blatant dishonesty. Sadly, this issue involving the same controlled prescription has been repeated to some extent by the Pharmacist named Clay on 2 more separate occasions. The second shorting involving Ativan occurring about a year and a half ago, in which I had become accustom to checking the pill count prior to leaving the store with the bottle. Once again, the Pharmacist named Clay at Store #18 had shorted the count of Ativan by 30 pills, but was directly confronted by me prior to taking the bottle out of the store. The pharmacist named Clay filled the remainder of the count, giving no reason or rationale for the count being 90 Ativan pills; rather than the prescribed 120 count. The 3rd, and most recent issue occurred in September 2021, in which the Pharmacist named Clay at Store #18, shorted the same controlled prescription, Ativan, by 33 pills, giving a count of #87 Ativan pills; rather than the prescribed amount of #120. Once again, given that the past has been prologue when dealing specifically with the Ativan prescription, and the Pharmacist named Clay at Store #18; my wife, who was picking up several prescriptions of us both that day, counted the medication prior to leaving the store with the bottle. IShe then stood and observed through the window as the Pharmacist named Clay at Store #18 counted the missing 33 Ativan pills to complete the prescription as ordered.

Since these issues have occurred now on 3 separate occasions, all involving the identical controlled medication- Ativan, I feel compelled to express my concerns that this issue represents a potentially intentional act; and that action, involving a potentially illegal behavior. I am not mincing words here, I believe that the Pharmacist named Clay is at the very least engaging in unethical behavior with a controlled medication, in these instances, the same controlled medication, Ativan. I have tried to handle this with him directly, then through writing numerous letters like this, as well as, notifying Corporate of my concern; all have yielded zero communication in return. I feel as though I am now left with little option but to contact the LA State Board of Pharmacy.

Please feel free to contact me if you require an clarification on these matters at 318.564.0908.

With Concerns,

John Hewitt

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Managers admonishing staff about talking to customers.

During the week thru Sunday 11-13, I was approached by several of the staff at the store at 5828 Line Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana.

I have been going to this store for over 20 years and make it a point to know as many of the staff and managers as possible.

Now, some of the staff are being called into the office of the manager, usually by manager Kevin Wooten, and being admonished for speaking or talking to the customers.

I, as a long-time patron, expect to have conversations with the staff. In fact, I demand it as I have spent thousands of dollars at this store.

The staff in question explained to me they were just talking to patrons or friends for a few minutes.

I started in the grocery business years ago and I know how much we in the South Highland community enjoy talking with everyone from the box-boys to the managers.

If Conner Low, the store manager, does not stop this ridiculous dressing down of his staff, I will be happy to shop at the Albertsons store down the street along with the 62 households I represent. I have lots of friends at Albertsons as I use to live a block from the store on Southfield.

Desired outcome: Stop managent (Kevin Wooten especially) from harrassing staff about speaking with patrons, my god its part of their job destription.

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Management

My son has worked for Brookshire's Grocery Store in Mount Vernon. He loved his job & got employee of the month in August. He has beat some terrible circumstances throughout his life and his job gave him back the confidence he needed. Recently he has been bullied by grocery manager Jonathan. He belittles in front of others! I am livid! Action needs to be taken before he pushes someone over the edge.

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy Employees

My daughter was recently employed by Brookshire in Paris. Did y'all know that you had a member of management having parties at their home supplying alcohol to under age management. You have grocery managers that smoke weed. You also have a training manager walking around talking dirty all the time and talking about her female parts. There is also no cleaning being done to stop the spread of the virus. No social distancing with the employees. No enforcing of one buggy one person. You really need to remind them of family god and community

Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy customer service desk

I went up to the costumer service desk with my daughter and the older, tall lady with gray hair and a sour disposition asked to look at the paycheck and said she could not cash it because it was too far and was in Dallas. There was no apology and she didn't ask if there was another way that she could help us and while helping us looked us up and down questioningly and almost as if she was profiling our characters. Because of this we decided to go to another store in another city. This elder lady needs to learn some mannerism and how to greet and thank and if necessary apologize to guests. On top of all this the city should have nothing to do with cashing a check if it is in the same state. This was the worst visit I have had so far. This needs to be fixed immediately.
