I'm absolutely outraged and frankly disgusted by what I witnessed today. It's a downright crying shame — no, it's an absolute disgrace — that I had to step into what was once the premier Brookshire's location in the South Highlands area, only to be immediately confronted by a black male employee flaunting full-on queer LGBTQ+ regalia in clear violation of any reasonable store dress code!
This individual pranced in wearing a women's sweater, slung a bright red purse over his shoulder on a gaudy gold chain, and topped it off with those ridiculous, fussy pink boots — like some kind of deliberate performance. I mean, come on! I support people living their lives however they choose in their personal time, but this is a family grocery store, not a pride parade float. Do NOT shove your sexual orientation and "LGBTQ crap" right in my face while I'm just trying to buy groceries in peace.
It's insulting. It's unprofessional. And it's completely unacceptable that Brookshire's — especially at the upscale Line Avenue store in Shreveport — would allow an employee to turn a simple shopping trip into a spectacle that offends traditional customers.
I've had enough. Effective immediately, I'm boycotting the Line Avenue Brookshire's store on 5828 Line Ave in Shreveport. I'll take my business elsewhere — to any store that maintains basic professional standards and doesn't let employees parade their personal lifestyle choices on the clock. What happened to decency? What happened to customer comfort?
Brookshire's needs to wake up and enforce their dress code properly before they lose more loyal shoppers like me. This is unacceptable!
Claimed loss: Professionalism
Desired outcome: Complain to store director
