Bookit.commisleading prices

Bookit gave the best package prices only to find out at the time of hotel check in that our 13 y.o. had to pay an additional $75/night and our 16 y.o. was consider an adult at an additional $99/night totalling $1225 we had to pay extra. When I spoke to bookit, they stated taht it was it was my responsiblity to read the hotel's policy. The reason the other websites had higher prices was because their prices already reflected the hotel's age policy.
Bookit mislead my family and never once warned me that additional charges will be collected at check in!

    Bookit.comairfare credit not sent to airline; dishonesty in customer service follow through

    I booked a vacation with Bookit.com. The airline changed the schedule and the Bookit site said I could either accept the change or book a new flight. I spoke to a representative and said I wanted to rebook. She told me they would transfer the airfare credit to my airline so I could book the new flight. In calling the airline there was no credit to be seen. I tried calling Bookit again and could not get through their phone lines for two weeks. Finally I paid for another airfare and processed a charge back. I received a call from a representative and we discussed the chargeback. She apologized for my inability to get through and told me that they would not contest the chargeback. They did. So not only were they dishonest about sending my airline a credit, but also they are keeping my funds for the original airfare although they said they would let the chargeback go through. Their integrity is certainly questionable and I will not use them again, and recommend that they be avoided if one wants to be treated honestly and as a valued customer. Perhaps if they listened to their supposed 'recorded' calls, they would know that they are responding dishonestly. Instead, they appear not to care.

      Bookit.compoor customer service, lack of integrity

      Stay away from this company"!!! I booked a vacation for me, my wife, daughter, and her fiancé through this company In Oct 2015 at the Privilege Aluxes on Isla Mujeres for a 1 week stay March 19-26. Now it is Feb 25th and we just got a notice from them that the hotel would not honor the reservations, but they could give us an alternate stay at a different resort for twice the price. Please keep in mind that this is spring break, (which was necessary time to travel as my daughter and her fiancé are both teachers) and options are very limited this close to the date we arrive. After spending nearly 4 hours on hold trying to talk to someone with a clue in this company we were told that there is nothing they can do, and it was the resorts fault, so we called the resort directly and we told by the hotel manager that they stopped doing business with this company months ago because they have not received payments. Armed with this information we called Book-It (4 more hours on hold!) And were told they knew nothing about that-HOW COULD THEY NOT!!! I know we are not the only ones who made reservations here because I've heard about other travelers in the same predicament. They then had the nerve to tell us they could put us up in a 2 star resort in Cancun for twice the price of the Privilege Aluxes. We ended up renting a small apartment on the Island because we would have lost thousands of dollars in cancellation fees and we already had activities scheduled on the Island. Bottom line is this company turned what was supposed to be a fun relaxing all inclusive trip to celebrate my daughter's graduation from college and their engagement into a nightmarish last minute scramble to try to find any place to stay.
      I could go on about many more problems we had dealing with this company, but the bottom line is unless you like rude costumer service, being on hold for hours, lying, and having your vacation ruined- SAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

        Here's the letter I just sent to these guys. I suggest that you stay away from bookit.com. They should call themselves "tookit.com"

        I have just had a terrible time with your customer service group and will be posting as such to all of my social feeds and all of the review sites I know of.

        I unfortunately had to cancel a pre-paid hotel reservation of over $1, 700 due to family sickness. Because I was within the cancellation window, I asked bookit and the hotel for an exception and to refund as much of my fee as possible. The hotel was willing to re-book over $1, 000 of the $1, 200 that they received for the 5-night stay and I am in their debt; I will be visiting the area again soon and will definitely stay there.

        Bookit.com, on the other hand, chose to keep all of the nearly $500 in fees that they made as part of the reservation. I spent hours on the phone listening to hold music, and was told multiple times that "someone" would be calling me to help me out, with no return call.

        I was just told that your company will not be refunding me a dime. Not only that, I was somehow lectured about how this transaction is like hiring my brother to sell my bike. (No, I did not understand it either). The person on the phone even disputed the $ breakdown, despite my having a copy of the invoice from the hotel to bookit.com showing that your site kept nearly 30% of the entire fee I paid.

        You had one chance to make me a customer for life, and you missed it. I now have multiple chances to post the true facts of my experience with bookit.com on as many review sites as I can.

          Bookit.comcanceled resort reservation after having our $ for 7 months!

          On June 9th 2015 I booked 3 rooms at the RIU Negril with airfare from Bookit.com. 11 days before we are scheduled to leave they sent us a note saying "We are sorry to have to advise that Riu Negril- All-Inclusive has informed us that your reservation will not be honored. Even though we have a long relationship with this chain, we strongly believe that our guests will not be welcomed at Riu Negril- All-Inclusive front desks upon arrival." We contacted them and they offered to move us to another all-inclusive in Negril but then told us that we would have to pay the difference of $4500 per room for the week! Yes thats $13, 500!!! That was all that was available. They offered a $500 credit if we rebooked through them at a non-RIU resort... When we asked about canceling the entire trip they told us that the airline tickets were a seperate transaction (even though we purchased as a single transaction on the Bookit.com website), and that we would have to contact the airline directly to discuss that. Of course they reminded us that the airline will change a $250 change fee if we made any modifications. In the end we called the RIU directly and rebooked for the same rooms we had originally booked. Because it was now a last minute booking there were no discounts available so we ended up having to pay an extra $878. At least we know we will have rooms now when we get there.

          I don't know what is happening with this company, we have used them multiple times before without issue but from the other posts on this site it appears that they have accounting issues and are not paying their venders.

            I booked my trip 4 months ago, supposed to be leaving this week 1/16/15. Get a call from bookit (On 1/11) that the hotel is no longer accepting their customers. But don't worry, we want to help is what they say. Their solution... Put me up in a hotel 2 hours away from where I originally booked at an increase of over $700. I told them that was completely unacceptable and they happily offered a refund minus the plane tickets ultimately leaving me with plane tickets but no hotel 4 days prior to my trip. I ended up cancelling and fending for myself at an increase of around $400 to save the trip. I would avoid bookit.com at all costs. They'll speak to you nicely on the phone but at the end of the day you're 100% on your own even if it's their fault.

                My husband and I booked an all inclusive, The Be live Collection, La Romana DR. on 4/5/15. We paid in full for 14 days for travel on Dec 2nd - 16 for our 25th wedding anniversary. After 2 cancelled flights and 1 long delay, we arrived at the resort at 3am Dec3. We went to check in and were told that our reservations were canceled and no explanation. We were livid, Cancelled room in a foreign impoverished country, WTH! The clerk allowed us to stay in a "HOLDING" room, A renovation area, a room with poor working toilet, a bed, side table and TV, no lock on balcony door and we couldn't use the phone as were considered non paying customers, 2nd class! We were told we could meet with someone in the am, but no promises for a room. We met with a nice girl Andia, that worked at the hotel and dealt with Bookit. She went back and forth with Bookit, which was difficult to say the least, evasive, non compliant, put on hold, passed back and forth, disconnected for the 1st 3 days to find the cause. It was that Bookit had not paid the hotel and the hotel cancelled and was now asking for the going rate, meanwhile we were held in our holding room, had to surrender our passports and credit card copied. The dispute went on to day 5 until it was resolved, ruining our vacation. The upgraded room was not provided, it was hell and Bookit's fault. When I got home and contacted Bookit, in short, they gave me the runaround saying they paid the hotel and would give us $100. for a credit on the next vac. Take it or leave it thing, as it was insulting, I refused and they said it was now resolved on their part.

                Similar experience. Bookit does not send the money to the resort so the resort backs out of the reservation. I was called 5 days prior to leaving and ended up booking with bookit at another resort 25 miles away. Got to "replacements" resort only to find out bookit didn't sent payment ended up giving our credit card and waiting a day and a half for bookit to send payment. Hotel staff said this has been an ongoing problem with them. The excuse we got for the first hotel cancelling was an "internal problem" with the original hotel when in fact they got fed up with bookit not sending payment and cancelled all reservations of which I can't really blame them. Bookit is a nightmare and I will never book with them again no matter the discount on travel.

              I was called hours before I was to get on my flight, informed that my reservation would need to be switched as the Riu was not honoring reservations (spoke with Riu and they indicated this was not the case). Apparently bookit.com knew about this "issue" for days but waited until the last minute to contact me. I indicated I was going to that specific resort for a wedding and could not be switched to another resort. After waiting hours for a returned phone call, I called them, waited on hold for 40+ minutes and the representative phoned Riu (as did I) and informed me I was good to travel and there would be no issues with my reservation. I arrived and they had called and cancelled it on me. I had to pay thousands of dollars unexpectedly out of pocket, and received no communication from Bookit.com regarding. I contacted them upon my return, waited another 40+ minutes on the phone and had to explain why I was calling for a refund. They disputed the amount, gave me three conflicting reasons as to why and then finally offered to "waive a fee" to send me a breakdown of what they were seeing on their end, as apparently it was different than what I had confirmed in writing. They were unprofessional to deal with, and did not care how much they disrupted my vacation. I have written to their executive for a resolution.

                Bookit.com, Inc.no room when arrived in mexico

                Upon arrival at the resort they had no record of our booking. Bookit.com's solution was a refund of our "discounted" room rate and pay "full" rate at a lesser quality and double the price hotel... Also, , still waiting on that refund and over 2hours spent on hold, being transferred to no where. All the "sorrys" are nice but let's put some money where your mouth is!

                    They have done a similar thing to us, but we have not taken off yet.

                    After looking for several days on bookit.com we came across a price that was unreal! So we kept checking it for two days, and it still was up for 477 per person for 5 nights all inclusive at Azul Fives by Karisma. So we called and spoke to a sales representative, whom we asked numerous times if the price included flight and stay, and she replied that it did. So we booked it and we were really excited about this. The next day my wife recieved an email, stating that she needed to get into contact with bookit right away to cancel. After recieving confirmed email for both, the flight and all inclusive stay at the resort. we were told that it was a mistake by the their websites and that was ment to be only for the flight. So we kept going back and forth with her, explaining that we have screen shots of it saying "all inlsive with flight and stay" comfirmed numbers for the whole package. But she still insisted that it was only for the flight.

                    They made a mistake and didnt want to pay for it.

                  Bookit.comno notice of spirit pilot strike and will not return phone calls to management

                  I booked an all-inclusive trip for our family of 9 through bookit.com. Spirit Airlines pilots went on strike 4 days prior to our departure. This was plenty of time for Bookit to contact me so we/they could make other arrangements. Our flight was cancelled and Spirit and bookit would do nothing to assist us on another flight to our destination. I ended up paying several thousand $ more to get my family on our trip a day late. Now I have called book it several times and asked to speak to a manager only to be told they would call me back. I am still waiting ...months later.

                    I travel often, and bookit.com was BY FAR THE WORST experience I have ever had trying to book a trip. I typically book through some of the better-known travel sites, but bookit had a discount promotion going on for my trip type so I gave it a try. I was trying to book a flight plus hotel package trip for vacation, and when I submitted the payment and order, an error message came back saying that the flight was booked but there was an error with the hotel and that part was not booked. It provided a number to call. I called immediately. The person I talked to on the phone said that it looks like neither the flight or hotel was booked somehow, even though I was looking at a message from bookit.com saying the flight was booked and there was an error with the hotel part of the booking. I went to go book it again on the website while on the phone and received another error, then I couldn't find the same flight online. The person on the phone said the flight was available, and she can book me on the same trip, but the pricing she was receiving was about $90 more than the same exact trip I submitted payment for a few minutes prior when it allegedly partially booked and then didn't. I was annoyed, but wanted the experience to be over with so I told her to book it. I wish it ended there but it didn't. She quoted me the new total (around $2800), and asked permission to charge. Then, when she submitted, she said that she got a different error. Somehow the flight was booked but not the hotel on this new reservation. When she went to go process the hotel reservation again, she said that the cost was actually going to be more expensive, AGAIN, than the amount she just quoted me when asking permission to charge me for the trip. The person on the phone said that there was nothing she could do about it and that it is what it is. I was trying to book specific flight and hotel because I am flying out with another person that booked separately, so I just paid it. The trip that I originally booked through their website at about $2700 ended up costing me about $2900 instead. Thanks bookit.com. I will never be using you again.

                      Bookit.comvacation pkg

                      We used bookit for a family getaway to Mexico, this was our only chance for a getaway for a year or so because of work and using bookit was a horrible mistake. They didn't have our airlines confirmed and we were stuck in lines for hours and almost missed our departing flight, once we got to Mexico they had our private transfer taking us to a resort that was hours away from the resort that we actually stayed at. Once we returned to Cancun airport to return home the same issue with our tickets not being confirmed and we had to wait in line for hours to get the issue fixed and again had to run across airport with children to not miss our flight home.

                        Bookit.comridiculous charges for cancellation

                        My daughter booked a room through this site and then had to change her travel plans (she is traveling with a University group in Jordan doing research). I tried to cancel the reservation and, even though it was more than a week in advance, we were charged for the one night stay PLUS a $19.95 cancellation (she only had a reservation for one night)fee!!!
                        Total rip-off! And all the customer service rep would do was read the same small print over and over.
                        Bad customer service, bad company and I hope they go down.

                          BookIthotel misrepresentation

                          I booked my hotel, car and airlines with Bookit. When I arrived at our destination, it was not a resort, but a residential condominium with no office on location. I called Bookit and they found me another hotel at the Bilmar (which was wonderful). I was charged $285.61 to change hotels. I also bought travel insurance with Bookit. On return from my trip I called Bookit to try and get the $285.61 refunded due to their mistake, but they asked me to try to get my refund through insurance. Travel insurance didn't help. After contacting Bookit for a third time I find out that I was charged a cancellation fee for the original reservation. Bookit refunded the cancellation fee, but would not refund the charges it cost me to get into another hotel. Also, the reservation was not in my name and that took another two hours to get our room due to that error. Fortunately, Citibank is taking care of this for me now. I do not recommend Bookit. They did not try to make it right. Travel date June 18-23, 2015

We have been good customers for years, and we called the customer service dept to see if they could credit us some money back, but they refused. Makes you really think and take time before you buy with their company.

                              We booked flight and hotel package to costa rica for a week spanning from sunday to sunday. We arrived on sunday morning at the airport only to find out that our flight on jet blue was for saturday. Upon further inquiry with the airline we were told that they never had a flight to costa rica on a sunday. We are a family of eight, so at this point we are at the airport with no tickets to our destination. We started to look for another flight to costa rica but none were found until the following saturday. We called the company to cancel, stating that this was their mistake. They refunded us for only 6 of the 8 airline tickets, because the reservations were two seperate reservations and they are claiming that they did not know that the two reservations were booked together. They would not refund the hotel because we are considered a no show. Really? A no show? If there was a way to get to the hotel, we would have showed up. Never ever book with book it! Horrible!
