Booking.com review: Unfair treatment & host scam: booking.com protects fraudulent host despite written proof (res id: 6433516249)
I am writing this out of sheer frustration regarding reservation 6433516249 at Sunrays Pool Villas (Rhodes) for €1,675.
Our check-in was originally set for 18 September, but due to visa delays, we informed the host. The host explicitly confirmed in the official Booking.com chat that we could check in on 20 September ("Perfect! I am very happy for you").
Relying on this official confirmation, we traveled to Rhodes on 20 September. However, upon arrival, the host was absent, gave us no keys, and ignored all calls/messages, leaving us stranded outdoors during our honeymoon.
Even though Booking.com Customer Support acknowledged in writing that the host approved our arrival on 20 September in the chat, they refuse to issue a refund simply because the host marked it as a "No-Show" on 18 September and refuses to return the funds.
Allowing a host to lure guests on the official chat and then pocket €1,675 without providing accommodation is complicity in a scam. I demand an immediate review by Senior Management and a full refund of €1,675.
