On 12/08/2025 at about 10:29 AM, I went into the Dollar Tree at 20 Smith Street, Farmingdale, NY, and made a $10.15 purchase with my EBT card. I worked until around 3:00 PM, then stopped at the meat market at 13-26 Central Ave, NY 11691, to buy meat, only to be told my card balance was $0. I called NY EBT and was informed there was suspected fraud on my account. My card had been used at BJ’s Wholesale at 300 Rensen Ave, Brooklyn, NY, at around 1:37 PM for a $276.22 purchase, followed by a failed $11.36 attempt. Now I’m left with just $11 to get through December. I’d appreciate it if someone could investigate this and get back to me. Since all BJ’s customers have memberships, hopefully the member can be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I am completely disabled and rely on these benefits to survive.
Claimed loss: $276.22 EBT
Desired outcome: Maybe some food for December, or perhaps a voucher to buy more food. Consequences should be given to the member who was dishonest and stole my benefits. Yes, a police report is currently being filed.
