Not the place for auto smart key programming!!!
What an absolutely BRUTAL experience I had with the Batteries Plus branch on Williams St. in Fredericksburg, VA!
I called ahead and spoke with two people, one the manager, about programming an automotive FOB I had purchased. The Manager told me she could program it and to come in. So I make the 30 minute drive to the store, give he my master key FOB and the new blank OEM Fob to program. She looks up the car programming information, confirms they can program it, and rings up a $75 programming charge, which I think at the time is reasonable.
The exchange is very quick and she sets out to program the car...
About 30 minutes later she comes back inside and says,
"I can't get the FOB to accept the programming."
And proceeds to hand me back my Fob. I ask her if she intends to refund the programming charge which she only now tells me,
"That is not refundable since we are programming your Fob. But we can program the Fob we sell for this car, but its not in stock."

SO I order a new Fob from them for ANOTHER $75 and drive 30 minutes back home to wait a week until the new Fob shows up. When I get home I discover that a slew of electronic systems in the car have been reset, no doubt to some programming gaff. I am able to straighten them all out and figure I would bring this up when the new Fob arrives...
A week later, the new Fob comes in and another individual phones to tell me the Fob is in. Before I drive down I ask him, "If this Fob does not accept your programming, will you refund the money spent on the programming which I had paid previously?"
He goes away and huddles with his Manager and says that since the programming was paid for the other Fob, they would not refund the programming then either - and this is the Fob I just ordered from them! But he says, "If it the new Fob does not accept programming they will refund the money on the new Fob, but not the programming."
I explain that makes no sense and that perhaps its best they just refund the money on the Fob so I can save the hour long round trip since my risk remained the same that this was a continued dead end to program a viable Fob. The counter guy on the phone then tells me that I have to come back in anyways to run the card to return the new Fob charge.
I then tell him that since I have to drive back down there now they might as well try and program it since there is nothing to lose at this point. I tell him I will be in in about an hour...
So back I go, and 30 minutes later I walk in the door only to be immediately told that they will not attempt to program the new Fob and will only refund my money for the Fob! Seems they had reservations that they could program the car after all - even with their own Fob. They could have said that in the first place.
Scam! alert!
What an absolute waste of time and money believing anything that comes out of the mouths of this bunch. It is simply incredible the level of incompetence surrounding this store. I have been to other Battery pus branches over the years and this is easily the WORST I have ever been to.
My advise to all reading this review is to:
1.) Ask (many, many) questions upfront because they will not be forthright or upfront with you.
2.) Believe nothing they say, and fact check everything they tell you.
3.) Save your time and money and find an honest vendor that actually gives a damn. These folks absolutely could not care any less - though they do work at that.

Battery lasted one week and there was no warranty
I brought the key fob for my 2006 Chrysler 300 in to get the battery replaced. No problem. They offered a one time replacement or a lifetime replacement cost. Since I've never had to replace the battery in the almost 20 years I've had the car, I figured the one time replacement would do, as I don't expect to keep it for another 20 years. He replaced the battery in the fob in just a few minutes, and it worked perfectly. For about a week. Stopped by the store on South Florida Ave here in Lakeland Fl on my way home from work today and asked if the wasrranty would cover a replacement if their battery only lasted a week. The young man behind the counter said that if you only buy the one time replacement, there is no warranty. I'll never use these people again.
Flawed website battery selection process
I purchased a battery for my car over 2 months ago. I used the website and my VIN. Rather than say battery not found, like other sites, the response gave me alternative batteries to select. Assuming any battery response would be a fit, I selected one. I went to the local store and brought the old one in. The rep did not notice the nodes were reversed. It was not the correct battery. So, when I touched the leads backwards, it blew out 4 fuses and had to be towed in to be repaired. It also blew out the amplifier for the radio and Bluetooth. After months of back and forth, I have gotten nowhere. Customer service puts the customer off and hopes they will eventually quit. I have no intention of quitting this fight. Talking to the store manager, he sees it as a website/corporate issue too. Reviews like this will cost the company more than the cost of repair to my vehicle.

Fantastic customer service
Purchased a new battery for my cell phone among other batteries (key fob, garage door & pet collar for remote door) from a new BP in Los Lunas New Mexico. The customer service was fantastic and it's so nice to have a cell phone that holds a charge all day long and I don't have to charge it every 2 hours. So glad to have a store in the area. I will certainly be back.
Solved my problem!
When my cell phone died I took it in to the store belonging to my carrier. They said I needed a new battery and sent me right next door to this store, which I had never heard of before. They opened it, matched the battery, and plugged it in and gave me a quick charge before I left the store. They also gave me paperwork for a Lifetime Guarantee on the new battery I purchased from them. Couldn't be better.

I just picked up an online order placed on Friday. The young man helping me was so friendly and helpful. Monday morning 8am and he has a smile and helpful attitude, so refreshing! Awesome work saved my life
I was so scared to fix my phone because my iPhone was so expensive! And then I was like How much is this gonna cost? I got the estimate and my sis encouraged me to make the move. I did and here I am my phone looks like new. The cashier was very easy to talk to and the service was more than I expected. I'm really happy and even though I hope I never drop my phone again I know where I can go to fix it. :)) thank you so much!

Jeep Cherokee battery
After one year the battery went completely dead. I had AAA and they could not identify why when they jumped it. It only run for about 1 minute and didn’t know if it was a battery issue. They had to tow it to the Jeep dealership and with there equipment it was identified as a bad battery and they put in a new battery. I took the bad battery back to the store and was told they would only give me a new battery. I don’t need two new batteries and requested a refund? They would not hive one. I am in this for the cost of a tow, Jeep repair service, and new battery! I was only asking for a refund from your store. Please advise if this is the way your company handles problems and I will have to make a decision as to buy any additional product from your store?

12V18AH Battery
On 15 Nov 2023, I purchased a 12v-18ah battery for $75.41 from the Batteries Plus store located at 3128 Secor Rd, in Toledo, OH 43606. The battery was not tested prior to purchase and the battery was dead when I arrived home. I attempted to charge the battery, but no success. I returned the battery a week later where it tested at only 2v. The store manager was rude and interjected himself in the process, telling me I would have to wait 3 hours to charge and retest the battery. I live an hour away, so I left the battery at the store, but never received a refund and the store still has the dead battery. I contacted customer support, but they (Christine) did nothing to help. I will now be filing a small claims complaint.

If you need to replace a battery on your iPhone or iPad do not and i repeat do not
Go to Batteries Plus. The batteries they sell are defective. I bought a brand new battery and they installed when I went to pick it up I noticed the LCD screen was not flush with the bezel. They had tried to remedy it for over a week when I decided to just picked it up because the owner said if any problems bring it back.
After 4 months of use I purchased a brand new iPad mini and had put away the old iPad. Three months later I decided to use my old iPad and went to the drawer where it had been kept and to my astonishment found that the battery had exploded and pushed out and cracked the LCD screen and motherboard.
When I approached Batteries Plus their stance was its past the 6 months warranty and that the battery exploded due to high heat or prolonged connection with charger.
My iPad was properly stored away in a drawer and not connected for 3 months til I decided to go look for it. I am aware that the iPad is old, I've had it for at least 10 years but for them to treat me like I don't know how to take care of it and NOT offer an amicable resolution is unacceptable.

On 3/2/2023 my battery was dead. I took it back to Batteries Plus because it was under warranty. They told me that it would be 3/13/2023 before that exact battery would be back in. And my battery was bad and would not charge. I explained that my car would be down till I received the battery. The manger Bri told me she had 12 coming in on 3/6/23 that were spoken for and if one of them didn't come get the battery she would let me have it. Their phones have been down all during this which is hard to believe. You just get their hours when you call. I did not get a phone call so on Thursday 3/9/2023 I went to check. The manger was not in so I asked the sales girl and told her what the manger had said. She look at me like I was crazy and said they had not received 12 batteries on Monday.
I waited till Monday 3/13/2023 and waited till around 4:00 because I can't call them their phone are still just telling their hours.
When I go in the manger is not there. I told the salesgirl my battery should be there. She asked my name and said she was not showing anything. I give her my phone number and told her that is how the manger had look up the battery the first time. She looked and went to the their back room for 4 or 5 min.
I was to busy to get there on the 14th.
I went back the 15th. This time because I believe I was being lie to I recorded the conversation. I was met with my old battery and told that the batteries were on back order and didn't know when they would get any so l had to take my battery back. I asked if she would swap it for a lesser battery because I had brought their best battery. She said no only the exact battery.
Then she tells me that Florence had them on their shelf. This is after keeping my battery for this long. I said can't you have it shipped here and she said to leave.
I went to Florence l they did not have any. But the manger said she would help but had to try charging the battery first because it wouldn't check if it was bad without a charge. I left it overnight. What do you know it charged and was fine.
Decatur's Battery Plus had my battery for 12 days without trying to charge it. And I had to drive back and forth 4 times or 120 miles and 4 hours to their store. Then drive 60 miles one way to the Florence store or 240 miles and 5 hours. The manger in Florence told me I should not have had to drive to them or waited so long. She gave me their corporate phone number and said to call I will Monday.
That is 12 days without the car and 320 miles 9 hours of driving to charge a warranty battery.

Battery replacement on Apple tracker
Agent first stated that the battery was not replaceable. Then he took it to the back room and emerged with one of the trackers open. He then took the other two and proceeded to open them with his pocket knife. He replaced the battery in all three Apple Trackers and tried to close the door to them. He was very careless in the process and didn’t mention that he might have broken the tracker.
After returning home, I analyzed the cases and found that the case was open partially. An inspection showed that he broke the case in a way that it won’t close.
Wish me luck, as I’m going to report back to the store and see what happens.

Nebo Slyde+ flashlight
Flashlight ordered almost a month ago. no calls or messages sent. Made a special trip to Batteries plus to determine status and now told it would cost an additional 40%. Also the flashlight was not on order so would have to pay the additional amount and wait if I wanted to proceed with the order. I visited the Mishawaka, IN location yesterday around 2:30 p.m. I found the clerk to be rude and condesending. He is a middle aged man, on the tall side, talks very fast. I told him I needed a new battery. He questioned how I knew I needed a battery. I explained AAA had just been to my house to jump start my vehicle and tested the battery. He insisted on testing my battery. He told me to go shut my car off and open the hood. I did not mind turning my car off, but it was not my place to open the hood. After testing it, he almost argued with me that there is life left in the battery. I explained I wanted a new battery. I can't have it not start again be stranded. He proceeds to tell me the battery probably gets low because I do short drives. How does he know that is what I do? He did install the new battery and I left. While I was waiting for the battery to be installed, a few more customers came in the store. A young employee came out from the back and abruptly said, I will get with each of you as I can. I found that rude also. When the man was almost arguing with me about a new battery, I almost left without making a purchase and going to another business who would be more helpful.
My receipt on my battery for my truck said full warranty for another 9 months. I took my truck back to my Blair's ferry road store and they said it just needs to be driven more. I drive it every other day. I took the truck into my Toyota dealer and they checked charging system and checked out good. I went back to Batteries plus and they said I could buy another battery and they would deep charge mine. I said I wasn't buying another battery and they could give me another one. That was a content point so I said I would give them a debit card and wanted my money back in cash as the debit would be out of my bank before I hit the first intersection. They didn't think they would have any cash to give when I returned. Not have 150.00$ in the till,really? I left with a new battery and was told they will have to eat the cost. I made mistake trusting batteries plus to put a new screen on my I phone first after it was done and I was paying I was told that Apple would send me notices on the phone telling me the phone rejects the screen shouldn’t I’ve been told before the service was performed ? Next I complained if a yellow streak on the screen under neath It looked like a glue smear They said no warranty then a few months later the screen cracked where the dried yellow stain was I was told not covered so I’m out big fee and I have another cracked phone unreal

I have 3 key fobs for my Lexus. 2 were dead. I went in the Centennial CO Batteries Plus store. There was 1 clerk, a man approximately 50 yo. I asked him if he could help me figure out which battery I needed for my key fob. I planned to buy 2, maybe 4 batteries. The packages of batteries appeared to be about $10 for two batteries, so I would’ve spent probably $20. He said if he took the key fob apart he had to charge me $21.99 for each one, but if I paid that amount for each one, he would replace the batteries and then they would be warranted for life. I told him I was not interested in a warranty. All I wanted was to figure out how to get the key fob apart so I could determine which batteries I was going to buy. He said he couldn’t take the fob apart or tell me how to do it, or tell me which specific battery I needed, unless I paid him. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. He refused to tell me, even though I got the key out of the fob, how to separate the fob so that I could find out what the battery type actually was. So, he pissed me off, refused to help me, unless I paid him an exorbitant amount of money, So I left. I would never consider going back to that store and probably not to any another batteries plus store, ever again, either. I went there in the first place because I had had great experience with the Customer Service people at Batteries Plus in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where I used to live. I don’t know if the clerk i dealt with in Centenial is the owner of the franchise or is hired help, but his customer service is really poor. He lost the sale, even if it was only $20 and lost me as a future customer. I’m going to tell everyone I know not to ever go to the Centennial Batteries Plus store. When I left, I called my son and he told me to go to AutoZone and they would help me figure out what battery I needed and put them in for me, so that’s what I did. The young man at AutoZone even gave me a 10% discount when I told him what happened to me at batteries plus. He showed me how to separate the key fob and determine which battery I needed. Then he replaced it for me at no extra charge. They only had one of the battery type that I needed and he told me that I could probably go to Walmart and get a pack of four or five batteries for about $10, and change them myself, now that he explained to me how to do it. I call that good customer service! The young man was probably not over 25 years old. He is way wiser and has much better customer service than the man that was probably twice his age, from the Batteries Plus store that I went to today.
Desired outcome: The man should be fired or reprimanded. He was clearly trying to take advantage of me. I owned my own business for 27 years. I never would’ve treated a customer like that, That man should be ashamed of himself.

On April 2nd of this year, I left a I-Pad with them to replace the battery. Today is October 4th and still have not received my I-Pad back. After numerous phone calls, My wife has made several trips to store and a number of excuses, they seem to have lost it. Was told owner would call us and have not heard from him. Just wanted to make you aware of this problem and if any remedy you may have.
Desired outcome: Return I-Pad or compensation.
26r mowing Tractor battery
Purchased a new 26r 2 year battery exactly 1 year ago. Went to start mower yesterday and it would not even spark. Took it back to Waynesboro,VA. Where I purchased it and today they say they won't honor any warranty. Took battery to local Interstate battery dealer and exchanged it and they said it was probably a dead cell. I will never go to a Batteries Plus store ever again. This company is not at all trustworthy to do the right thing and has no respect for its customers!Employees of store #568 Waynesboro, VA. I tried to understand a warranty on a battery and how to go about if I was due one as my battery went flat. It should have a warranty until 2/23/25. As the battery did sit fully installed and garaged for 6 weeks the rep told me this was neglect and I had no warranty. When I asked how long can a battery sit and remain in warranty he told me and I quote "get the [censored] out of here old man". I am a senior citizen. I asked if he had said that and he repeated the same and spit on me. He told me this numerous times. I left feeling threatened as the rep also recorded my license. If I don't hear from Batteries Plus in the next day I will need to call the police and report the assault. The Store id number is 208 and is located in Medford Oregon. The reps. name is Jorden. The date was July 16, 2023 at approximately 3:00pm. He was also incredibly rude and threating when I dropped the battery of at 9:00 AM for testing. I will try and get a hold of the store manager as I have never been in a situation like this.

In Puerto Rico the government gives us 3 days of no tax on hurricane prep items, ex; power plants , batteries, flashlights etc. I went to by this battery and the manager said the APC UPS is a 'protector' and not a 'converter ' of electricity. I explained to him that the job of a backup unit is the convert battery power to 110v power when then lights go out. Like, in a hurricane. He condescendingly stuck to his definition and I did not buy the battery. But his attitude was very poor. The last time i will buy there. Overpriced anyway.

Failure to be open during advertised hours
On 05/02/2023 I went to the local batteries plus in Casper WY at 5:30 pm. Hours on door as well as the website states M-F 8 am to 7 pm. But the store was closed and locked with nothing visible in the window explaining why it was not open. All neighboring stores in the center were open but NOT Batteries Plus. Not a good experience for my very 1st visit to your establishment

I will never go back to the store in Owatonna. I was not treated with the respect that a woman should receive. Three times he kept asking me the model for my car. He was very condescending in the way he talked overall and now I found out that I could have received the key fob cheaper elsewhere which I thought the quote was awfully high. So when I get the next one done I will not go this store. He also complained about how small my car was and the whole experience was not ideal for me. $193.00 later and the guy could never make eye contact so I knew he was lying to me about certain things we discussed. BAD BUSINESS!
Car battery went dead after 1 year of purchase
I bought a new Duracell car battery 2/2/2022. Warranty is until 2/2/2025. Car is driven almost every day to work as a physician. Battery went dead 2/5/2023. I got a triple A jump start and went back to Batteries Plus where battery was purchased. I was told that battery is good, alternator is good, starter is good. They said that I needed to drive the car more! I drive it every day to work for 25 minutes on interstate 78. I ask for battery to be replaced. They declined. This is not good service after spending almost $200.00 dollars on the battery. I good battery should start the car. I called batteries plus customer service and was promised a response in 24 to 48 hours, however is has been 5 days since then with no response.

The first issue I had was when in and purchased a battery for my Galaxy S10E, I purchased a battery and was told I would need to leave the phone for a couple of hours at the time of drop off it was 1:47 PM, I was told it would cost me $,125 which I promptly paid and when I returned at 3:15 there was a note on the door saying that they would return at 5:45 when I returned no one was in the store, so I drove to a store to buy a soda when I returned 20 mins later the tech had returned and when I showed a receipt explaining why I was here, he told me he wasn't finished yet and it would be another 45 mins. I waited for my my phone and eventually had it returned when I got home and charged it it was worse than before and now rebooted intermittently, when I looked the battery had been replaced but what looked to be a older battery, when I returned to the store and explained what was going on the tech told me he had put a new battery in and that I swapped it and was trying to scam the store, refusing to get in to a argument with the tech I left, that happened six months ago, today needing a battery for my Nukon Rebel I once again returned to the store hoping there would be some change, when I go in and ask about the battery I was told they were on back order and I could drive a hour and 45 mins to another store that had it, I asked if it could be shipped from there to here, I was informed no it could not.
At this time I walked out and filed this
You guys need to straighten this store out, I know I cant be the only one with these kind of issues here, I refuse to go back or use another one of your stores, I have never had to file a complaint like this ever and I hope you take it serious.

Batteries for toyota camry 2017
This started in September 2022. I brought in my key that opens the door, truck, etc and said I wanted to buy 2 keys like this.
I ordered, they called and came back in only to find out that they keys they had ordered were for another model car. I paid for the machine keying at this time, but did not receive any keys.
They ordered another set of keys and I did not receive a call from them to say they were in. I later found out they had tried. I went into the office and found that they keys they had ordered were keys only and not the type that opened the door, truck, etc. I found this out after keys were cut because I had not been shown they keys. I explained not what I wanted and they had to call they manager to get approved. There was a difference in cost and I paid half and waited.
Did not receive any calls but went into office and found out they keys were there. We are now in December and been playing with this way to long. I paid the remaining balance (I have now paid for the use of the machine to program the key twice) and gave women the key and she went back to cut and (I believe had trouble cutting). She came back out and told me their machine to set the keys with the car was down and that they were not going to be able to help me this day.
Go back into the office on Friday, January 13, 2023 and there are no keys and told by the clerk (the original one who ordered the wrong keys) that there were no keys there and that they showed the transaction was closed. I stated to her that I had not received keys and would she please contact her manager. She got the manager on the phone and they said they would reorder the keys. I asked for a refund because 4 months is way to long to do this. She called the manager back and manager said no to refund. While she was on the phone with the manager, I stated then order the damn keys. The women got on the phone and proceded to yell at me because I had cursed her and refused to let me talk and told me she wouldn't have anything else to do with me. I did say damn, I did not curse anyone. I then left and called the [protected] line and spoke with customer service (who was very nice and professional) who took my information and told me the store manager would call me back. It is now Tuesday, January 17 and no call. I just want my money back.
Desired outcome: I would just like my money back. After 4 months of this stores incompetence I can see no other way.
shorted my dash out when installing battery
I went and had a new battery installed. they hooked up something under my dash. When I got in my car to leave half of my lights were out on my dash. I unplugged my battery to see if it would reset. Now my radio and heat/ac controls only light up on one side. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do. I called again and no response.
Desired outcome: they need to fix my radio and heat/ac controls.
