Barrhead Travel Service review: Awful misleading company of liars

Awful company full of liars

My elderly parents and myself bought a Royal Caribbean cruise at Barrhead Travel in Southampton. They mislead us and lied to us about so many things.

1. They told us it was an adult only cruise - the ship had over 650 children aboard making lift access almost impossible due to all the pushchairs etc

2. They told us our cabin had a pull out sofa bed. We specifically requested this when booking and specifically asked them to check that it was not a pull down bed as we are 3 adults over 60 and could never use a pullman bed. We were assured on three separate occasions that the bed was a pull out sofa - they lied it was a pullman bed and we spent the first day of our cruise begging to get moved - the whole day was wasted

3. We asked their advise on speciality coffees as we found it confusing. We asked if you could get them anywhere and they told us we could get them in any cafe and any bar - this was absolutely not the case we were only able to get them in a tiny coffee shop and 1 cafe.

4.They never told us that we had a choice when it came to paying tips for service, we would have preferred not to do this and to tip any crew member we felt deserved it.

We reported this whole situation to ABTA who did nothing about it, and we are so disappointed with the outcome, no apology no compensation for all of their errors.

We would never recommend Barrhead Travel to anyone, they are liars and will do anything just to earn commission.
