On November 21st we brought our 18 year old daughter to the ER because she had suffered what we thought was a seizure. When we arrived her blood pressure was 85/40 which is low. It took them an hour to come check on her. They refused to give her an IV fluid bag even though we asked repeatedly due to her extreme dehydration. After hour 4 they finally brought her an IV bag. The nurse even stated that they had gone to lunch. The ER doctor refused to listen to the fact that our daughter had surgery the day before and she was on a plethora of medication, she also refused to acknowledge the surgery or take down any of the information we tried to provide her with i.e. meds, surgeons phone number and name. She then came back and said that the dmv would be coming to take our daughters drivers license away because she now has a history of seizures. When I tried to ask questions such as are you gonna do an EEG to prove this she said we don’t that and this is non negotiable. I asked again if we could discuss and she just said it’s non negotiable go see a neurologist. Then she left and never came back. The nurse came back and I told him my daughter was still dehydrated and needed another iv bag and he said that they have more serious patients. I asked if we could get the results from the blood they took and they said there were none.
Then they released us with a prescription for anti seizure medicine. The “seizure” was brought on by extreme dehydration, medication, anesthesia, lack of food, low blood pressure and low blood sugar. This experience was horrid.
