money taken from bank
On 10/7/14, I had $59.99 taken from my bank by nexwaysoftware.com which is you without authority from me. The number on the transaction which is on my statement is: [protected] [protected]. I am really pissed off because that means that you have taken money from me without permission. I was happy with avast until now! I actually sought you out as a friend as told mde how good your product was but now I don't plan on buying another product from you again. You can contact me on either my home on: 02) [protected]
Or my mobile on [protected]. Or my email on: [protected]@gmail.com.

charge twice for renewal
On July 1 I begin to renew my subscription to Avast. I check the one year for $39.99 and completed the form. However, I did not select the activation code. I did not want the one year. Thinking this one year subscription did not go through, on the 2nd of July I order a two year subscription. This two year subscription was for $49.99 and I completed the activation code. I want Avast to immediately to credit back to my credit card $39.99. I enjoy Avast and plan to purchase the grime fighter. I will file a complaint with my credit card company if Avast does not correct this charge.

I, too, ordered Avast. It was offered with a 30 refund. It didn't function after installation, so I cancelled the order on the same day. After many emails, Avast still refuses to offer a refund. I actually filed a dispute through PayPal, but then Avast said they would process the refund if I closed the dispute. I did so, but they still will not refund the purchase price. PayPal will not re-open a dispute after it was closed. I am certain that Avast must have know this when they asked me to close the dispute. That protected them. I would caution anyone planning on dealing with Avast to research the complaints on the internet before making a decision.
I was charged twice

I have a debit that was taken out of my bank account without ever purchasing your software. How a company can take money from me without my permission raises the question, how did you get access to my account in the first place? Please refund my $99.99 immediately!
Sincerely,
Amanda evans

I just found a charge on our discover card that we haven't even used in at least two or more years from this acast thing we haven't even heard of! we don't know anything about, and we don't want it! and what's more disturbing is they never had our permission to put any kind of charge on our account, and we want to know how the hell they got our account number! i put a account fraud hold on our account immediately! we haven't even used the damned thing ourselves in a minimum of two years! i'm infuriated! i want this charge removed immediately! who do these people think they are? making unauthorized charges on people's credit cards? we are on a fixed income and can't afford this kind of bs!
Their Customer Service phone is bogus. I called Tech Help. After I had answered their screening questions, they put me on hold and then dropped my call. I talked to their chatbot. It was clearly Artificial, but lacking in Intelligence. After several go-arounds with their hollow man, I told them I would report them for fraud. The charge that had appeared on my PayPal account at 3 am that morning disappeared (just gone) as I was trying to report it to the PayPal fraud squad. ? ? ? !
Looks like we don't have an account with you guys but why did yous deduct from my credit card, I want my money back now you guys take it so how does my whanau survive without food to buy. This is too much money you guys taking from my account.

I have cancelled my yearly payment to Avast several time through PayPal. The account has been reinstated without my knowledge or permission . I have been billed for £44.99. I Haven't used Avast for at least two years. I have not activated the software as I don't have any use for Avast and do not use it. The account has once again been cancelled and the cancellation recorded.
I would therefore request a full refund of £44.99.
I never got your software. You sill took 64.71 from my account, please refund the money
back into my account.

I had $35 taken from my bank account for something I didn't order.
boy, this thing is quite the hog
Used AVAST in the past and liked it. But I recently downloaded their latest version to do my monthly deep scans. This time around it tried to install Google Drive (!) for some reason, which took forever and eventually failed. So after wasting ten minutes staring at the installation screen Avast finally installed. Did a deep scan, everything's fine. Then I checked the system resources and boy, this thing is quite the hog. Uninstalled it until I need it again.

I have been trying for over two months now to reach somone at avast, i've had no luck. All numbers take you to a tech, so they say, then when asked to be put on customer support, they give you numbers that take you nowhere. They either do not exist or the # is out of order. Read full review of Avast Software and 1 commentthey lost my manuscript!
I was working on a manuscript, and highly sensitive because of the subject, for a book publication. I came back to the computer with a message from avast! Saying they had to shut down, and that anything of mine left open may have been lost. They enabled me to generate a report to microsoft, which I did, to report the error. Meanwhile, I have lost my manuscript, without a backup, because it was not scheduled—my error (I was in the middle of a change). I don't know if I can find a tech who can retrieve it from the hd in someway or not (And at what cost?). The thing is, I trusted avast! Then, I googled sites displeased with the service and found a slew of them. What seemed to have been a jewel is pebble in the mud for me. I cannot tell you the emotional pain I am going through right now, and the misery over the lost of this material. Please do what you can.
Sincerely
Gary strecker
Well, a valuable piece of information enabled me to find the file. It will result in many more problems if done incorrectly--like deleting anything, or failing to restore original settings, but it worked. I was able to find the file as a 'hidden' file. I also learned that if a company is legitimate, as Avast! certainly is, that the file will be somewhere, whether in quarantine, or the delete bin, or just hidden, as mine was. So my great panic is over.
Another thing to learn: do not leave files open and walk away. If a scan occurs, it just might turn up missing, as mine did. Fortunately, it had a good outcome.

first of all, get rid of Avast and use Microsoft Security Essentials instead, its free and works great.
secondly, here is a list of free data recovery programs that may help:

disrespectful members.
This is driving me crazy! I registered to their forums to report some crashes, provided all the information. Uploaded some log files about the BSOD error message and provided useful information. I even provided the download link and some verification hash strings just to ensure that the person who downloads them can verify the file integrity if it hasn't been corrupted.
Then they told me to upload the files to an FTP server with every single step to that they could provide me, that is just plain insulting, and just stupid. I was clear enough that I'm not a computer newbie. I told them that they were wrong and there's no need for all the things. I would have been happy with only just a few words stating that just upload the error logs to this server. And after that I got bombarded by users who only just building their posts and only just to harass me. They just bash other people just for reporting some bugs to the developers and they tell you that you are wrong.
I saw that they posted on their forums some details about their beta version of their antivirus product with download links. And someone even posted in their beta topic a legit feature request. Even if wasn't grammatically correct it was a definitely was understandable. Then they started making fun of him, and telling him that his sentence doesn't make any sense. One user even told him what he has smoke. I told them that to be nice, there's no need for rude comments. The user was a new member of the forum. I posted some bugs about their AutoSandbox feature and suggested some stuff about it. They still bashed me, and told me that my posts are garbage and off-topic.
I did explained in detail what the problem is actually, I made valid point and talked about the whole feature. And then I got two warnings for literally nothing. I did helped some new users and they provided some tools, and I just told them that I don't like it, and there are other alternatives. I also told them that if they like them that's great, and I told them how I do the stuff manually without any tools.
Today I can't even post on the forum anymore. I got another warning. That's a total of three warnings, Check the screenshot below! Just for telling others to be respectful with other members and not to threat everybody as a stupid this is what I got. Shame on the corrupt moderators and all the haters there. I've seen far more better forums where you can at least do conversations like an intelligent human being and not like an animal. Moderators there abuse their powers without any reasons! I like their free antivirus products but after all these I think I might even switch to another product. And not just because they messed with we, but because I had enough of all the crappy members who just contradict other people for no reason, and they even defend themselves just because they have more than 10000 posts or even more, or just even a half of them. They only just care about their post counter and to make as many posts as possible. That doesn't matter if they post two or three word sentences, they just do it.
As I said their product is decent, but their community is just really bad! I mean baaad. I've seen here other complaints here, and this will definitely will be a nice addition to the complaints list, just because we can. I recommend if you have any problems with avast! just don't go to their forums, ask someone else because they are complete idiots. They treat you as a monkey, not matter if you are reporting stuff in detail and chit chatting about stuff. Shame on you guys! Respect for the friendly members there, but a big no no to the offensive and disrespectful members!
It was just a typo, I meant to say "air". Still there are more friendlier ways communicating to people and not fighting with them.
Good bye! Go get some fresh aid Brenda*
Have a nice day!
Brenda* I didn't moderated anything! Stop being a [censored]bag!
So yeah! These guys think that they are Gods, with their power! They are just as the same person as me or other ones. They shine with their uber super hyper evangelist groupes, but some of them in reality are just worthless. Giving detailed information about software issues are worth more then just stating that it is just broken! Feedback as a developer is always welcome, but there's no point of sending them if rude members get in your way!
Screw your support guys! And thanks for wasting my time, when I could have been doing something else useful! They give crap about your opinion! Big Thumbs down!

billed 3x on debit card
I had avast on my computer and it indicated my subscription was due to be renewed. I attempted to renew it but had trouble getting confirmation of renewal. Different windows kept opening up, so I went to another software co. Whose website was easier to follow. I would like to cancel avast and get my 3 charges on my debit. Card removed. The dates are 2/14 3/12 and 3/9 my name is lynne f drost
scam
I always had the free version of Avast Antivirus. I decided to upgrade to a discounted yearly subscription they advertised. The setup file I paid for will not work, nor will the free version. I called the number they gave for troubleshooting and they logged in remotely to my computer and started going through everything wrong with my computer (totally unrelated to Avast, as he kept pointing out). I asked, well how do I get Avast to work, and he said it's impossible on my computer since there are too many startup files, too many junk files, etc. Then he proceeded to sell me a subscription to a computer technician (totally unrelated to Avast, he pointed out again). I said I'm not going to buy anything and he hangs up on me. He quickly deletes the list of things I had to do to help my computer's health. TOTAL SCAM!

no techsupport
The issue is that when I upgraded from the free antivirus to the avast security software it would not work. So I called the help line and talked with i
Yogi (Avast tech support group in india). In the background was a bunch of people (Kids, pots and pans, laughter etc. ). I reached the iyogi group after 3 calls waiting on hold for more that 20 minutes each time. Well, to summarize the service tech said that I needed to purchase a I year subscription which covered all type of support for avast and other software and that the reason why my computer needed this help is that I had too many problem on my computer. I do not know why I listened, but I did and man was that a mistake. After getting in tough with the tech group he was complaining that he could not do any thing because my computer was freezing up (My original problem) and that he could get me a good deal on a toshiba l755 and windows 7. Wow, in other words spend more many on what is suppose to be a free service. I was pissed! I did my own research and figure out what was the problem and fixed all my issues without any support from iyogi and/or avast. I am not going to ask for a full refund from iyogi ($169.99). I was definitely fooled and I hope you will not be. Ref: iyogi case id - [protected]
And iyogi case id - [protected]. My big question is how does avast think this is tech support when they are doing nothing but selling there product under the disguise of helping the avast software run properly. I am sure my attempt to get a refund from iyogi will not be easy.

avast 2yr subscription not delivered
On 20 june I signed up for 2yrs anti virus protection, my card was debited $nz101 but no programme or licence was delivered. I keep getting warnings and predictions or 571 serious errors from avast and windows. There is no address for queries at avast.

Hi,
I bought avast antivirus professional 8 and its license key for 1 year via internet credit card transaction.there was a problem when I inserted license key. I am continuously contacting them via email to their tech support team, sales team, business team.
Please help in getting refunded same or atleast ask them to contact me so that if it is small issue then they can check and resolve it.
I bought AVAST last July, and picked up so many debilitating viruses since then that I just had to have my computer "deep-cleaned" to the tune of $200. I wanted to send AVAST the bill; but instead just called to get my money back (still under warranty). The technician tried to sell me more software! He directed me to a website (me getting angry now) where I could request money-back.
The website is prohibitive of personal communication. Still, I somehow wormed my way in to sending my simple request for my money back. Instead, I was sent instructions on how to re-install AVAST.
I will now post this warning on every possible consumer advocacy website I can find, as well as report AVAST to the Better Business Bureau. I warned them I would do this. They don't care.
I have been trying with no success, on my part, to reach someone from Avast. Every time I call one of many numbers I get the same responce. "We are just the tech support", and then when asking for cust support, I always recieve a number that is either disconnected, or not even a number that exist! This is frustrating, I ordered the product through the online store, however, I cannot reach any live person other than a tech. I never downloaded the product, and never attempted to use said product. I demand a refund from avast and will do whatever it takes to prove they are scamming people. Once they have you, your there's. Say good bye to your money. I need help. The Product # that I recieved is ( order # [protected] ) Please help a 58 year old man, back in college to get back part of a scrambeled life from 2008. We have no way of defending ourselves, unless we just do not buy anything online! Once again, Please help, this is so wrong in so many ways, it's disturbing. Mr Edward Deveau
Merci
I was charged £14.99 on March 7th for AVAST antivirus software. I do not recall ordering it. What I can say is that my WIN 10 went completely at that time. I managed to get it back, but the AVAST software is no longer there. GREAT I did not want it anyhow. I can only think that it caused the problem with my PC. A refund would be most welcome BUT please do not attempt to charge a renewal next year.
I keep trying to download a recently updated game from steam but every time I try it is instantly classified as having a fake trojan virus and upon that I cant even file a false security claim because most important options are greyed out
Do not go near this site, just a quick research will show you how many problems people are having (including me)!
they steal from people's accounts in that they take funds out and cancelling for me is impossible!
customer service is non existant!
the site will screw up you computer!
Avast has worked fine for me and my family for years on end. No funds being taken out without permission has occurred.
Would you mind providing proof of your claims?
The only thing I can suggest is looking on their website for support details.
I bought dri avast anti virus protection for $ 38.84 paid with capital one master card but never received the license for what I pay for . please reimburse my money or send me the protection license

false alarms to get you to buy their product
Over the past couple of days avast has been warning me about a malicous attack. It shows as wpad. Dat and the service is svchost. Exe. When you click on the link it takes you to the purchase page at avast and it is pushing me to purchase the full version. When I run a full scan with avast, nothing comes up and when I review the logs it show no alerts. I don't mind paying for a good product... But when a product claims to offer a free version and then hits you with false alarms to try to scare you into buying their product I think that is pretty low. I'll be switching away from avast as soon as I can find the time to research a new solution. If this were a valid threat the link that comes up should take me to a page that defines the problem and offers a solution... Then I would be open to paying money... I'm just feeling scammed at this point.

does not recognize my email address
Purchased avast anti-virus in november, attempting to transfer the program to a new computer after my old computer crashed. On the avast web site they refuse to recognize my email address; telling me that I am not registered. Purchsae made and charged to my visa credit card on 20 november 2010, with your email address on the billing.

unauthorized charge
I have been charged for antivirus that I have not received. It was suppose to be free but said it would cost me $12.95 a year for three years and I agreed to this and then it said I would be billed $70.80 on my credit card but didn't give me an option to decline. I received my credit card statement today with this charge on it. I want a refund for this amount and I will purchase an antivirus locally and install it myself.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Renewed avast antivirus on 2/26/2011, continue to receive cancellation notice.
I have also been ripped off and have no idea of how to get my money back. I too was told that I would pay$12. 65 per year and have been charged $70.80. I also have no anti virus on my lap top. I do now have a total mistrust of buying this sort of thing using a credit card and I'd like to get the ### who have stolen my money. Jon Wainwright, Tauranga, NZ
If it was free why did you give them your credit card?
billing
I was billed $92.86 by avast for anti virus was told it would only cost 27.96. How can i get the extra charges off my bill?
I received a charge on my credit card for 04/17/16 in the amount of $37.44 . For AVAST Software GC1660201710055343. I have no idea what this is and how it got on my charge account. I tried to call AVAST and got a technical support person. After much aggravation he told my computer was corrupted. I told him I had a person who clean it up and he wanted to know how much they charged. If I told him he would take off the charge, when I refused and told him that was black mail he hung up. The next day I got a message to reopen my computer and follow the instructions, when I did this i got a box asking for a password., needless to say there is no pass work. I took my computer to my service center and he said the only way to get rid of this pass word request was to wipe the computer clean. The person in technical support had "hosed" me. I am very upset that there is no way to contact A VAST billing direct and then get stuck with someone in technical support who wants to blackmail customers. Please deduct this charge from my account and take me off your list of customers immediately. I will no longer be using any AVAST products.
I recently received a charge on my credit card for AVAST soft ware GC16602017100553543 in the amount of $37.44. I have no idea what this is or how it got on my credit card. I tried to call AVAST and instead someone in technical support. After much aggravation he informed me the my lap top was corrupted. I told him I had someone who could clean up my lap top and did not want him to do anything but get this charge off my account. He stated the he would take the charge off if I told him how much my computer company charge . I told him it was none of his business, he then said to me this favor and I will do you the favor. I told him that was black mail and he hung up. The next morning I could not use my computer as there was a message the I had to restart my system after following the instructions there was box asking for a password Needless there was no password. I took my computer to my service company and was told the only to clear this up was to wipe the lap top clean.
Please take this charge off my account. Respond to Carol Theismann as e-mail arthurtheismann332@yahoo.com
I ordered your Avast security this week. When it came to down loading, it would not download. you said I have problems but you could repair them for $119.00 for a one time fix or I could get it fixed today and continue the service for one year for $179.00. I did the one time fix last year although it took three different repairmen to get it to operate as it should to as this would have been my third year with your premier service and free service before that. I don't feel that I should have to pay for repairs since it was your Avast security that should be protecting my computer from any problems. I am asking for a refund of $173.16 that you charge my Discover credit card for a download that doesn't work. My name is A Bruce Gourley, my email address is I had to talk to several people at your support office. None of them were able to help me, they would just refer me to a different phone number. After speaking with three different people the last one referred me to this There are over twenty sites this website list including some I had already been to. I've already talked with Discover credit card company, they told me to call you and explain the problem and they would take over after two weeks if I hadn't received my refund.
Thank you,
A Bruce Gourley YES I DO AGREE WITH MY COMPLAINT - IF YOUR SERVICE DOESN'T WORK, I SHOULD GET A REFUND.

On the 12.08.2017 at 2 pm local time, I tried to purchase Avast Antivirus valid for two years for one computer. the promo price on which I was supposed to purchase the product is 24, 99 Euro but I was charged 54, 99 Euro from my account which is in the local currency 18, 686.97 Naira. the product was not delivered. I bought another Antivirus Pro for one Pc valid for one year. I would like to be refunded. thanks.
I am writing to tell you about a possible scam. I received notification of a promotion on avast antivirus from a popup on the free version I was using stating that for 29pln I would be upgraded to the pro version for 1 year. The payment of 29pln was deducted from my account on the 28-jan-2017 ref no. [protected]. I have not yet received payment conformation, codes, links or any other information regarding avast antivirus. Please help me to resolve this matter.
Kind regards,
