My mom was in Aurora Grafton Hospital from October 23rd, 2023, to November 3rd, 2023. She was moved to Hospice on November 3rd, 2023 - November 8th, 2023, in Aurora Grafton Hospital. On December 13th I receive a letter in the mail from DCM (Collection Agency) for two amounts $470.00 and $227.50. Aurora also sent a bill to the house for $227.50 that I paid...

Aurora Health Care Billing

I was treated in the urgent care. I received statements and immediately made payments on time. As I was making payments I was sent to collections very quickly. I understand payment is due and I was making all attempts to pay off my balance and I strongly feel I was sent to collections in error and prematurely. Go after those that are NOT making any effort to pay their bill not those making an effort. I WILL NEVER use your company again and I will NEVER refer friends or family to you again.

I went to Urgent care on December 29th. I received an x-ray that showed I had a broken foot. The following day I returned to Urgent care to have the doctor sign a form so I could get a temporary disability card. I was told that Urgent care didn't do that and I would have to see my primary. My primary doctor retired last year (Dr Jill Schmitt) and I didn't...

I work at a shelter in Ozaukee County. We have a guest who has pretty consistent medical emergency's due to his diagnoses. As I have been speaking to the gentleman and his wife, they have informed me they have been subject to discrimination in their most recent visit which I think is absolutely unacceptable in the medical field. Security was brought to...

November 1st, 1:30 I had an appointment with Dr. Janeeka Benoit of Internal Medicine. Immediately had a closed off demeanor when she entered the room. All of what happened between me and Dr. Benoit was witnessed by my partner, who was also in the room with us, sitting in. Despite me explaining what I was concerned about when making the appointment (there...

Aurora Health Care Dr Khalyne Johnson & staff

I had to find a new doctor as Brian Schmidt had retired. Using LiveWell I found Khalyne Johnson. It took several months for the first available appointment. I thought the visit went well, but I am not receiving the level of care I am used to. Communication is poor. I suffer from chronic pain issues and have had medication for years to help with that. Without informing me the therapies have been cut off & nothing offered to replace them. My quality of life is suffering. Had her position been made clearly known we could have parted ways. I feel misled, and now I don't know what to do. Any level of trust is gone. Having to endure the chronic pain while I try to find a different GP and get scheduled is a punishment I do not deserve.

Desired outcome: I want a response to my complaint and action so that this does not repeat itself for other patients.

The music at reception is awfully very Loud that it’s not soothing. We come to urgent care due to acute or severe pain, headaches, illness, injury, etc. So, hearing such loud piercing music in addition to other noise from the surroundings is aggravating! When I asked the receptionist if she can lower the music, she explained that so many complaints were...

I was hospitalized in June for copd issues. When I got out I saw my primary doctor. I saw lung doctor in August and I’m scheduled for my lung tests on Oct 4. I called to get a refill on my abuteral for my machine. Was denied by my primary doctor until I see him on October 3. If I wait that long for meds I will end up sick again I beginning to believe Aurora just does ‘T care about their patients anymore and that’s very shameful

Aurora Health Care Quality care-patient care relation -

I wrote a letter to Patient Billing Department to dispute my bill from my visit with a Neurosurgeon that took place on 05/15/2023 at Aurora Wilkinson Medical Clinic Summit. I was referred by my primary physician for lumbar and spine issues and other issues that involved: arm/leg neck, numbness and tingling, weakness, vision -blurry-spots, talking, memory, inner thigh aches , fatigue, sob, mucus, burning-aching sensation, palpitation (like heart beating) on arms, legs, chest) squeezing around my left side abdominal.

Prior to my visit with the Neurosurgeon I faxed all my documentation from Froedtert Hospital on all my visits and from another Neurosurgeon who did spine surgery in the year 2010 for the same reasons that I listed above.

The notes that the Neurosurgeon from my visit on 05/2023 copied and paste most of all the information that the doctor I did who did my surgery in 2010. So basically she didn't document that she only sat with me for 10 minutes and looked at my Xray that was done almost 2 years ago that there was nothing wrong with me. In those 10 minutes, she never suggested that I have another X-ray done on my left and right lumbar or my neck. How would she know that I might have experience some scar tissue during the time from my last Xray till the day of my visit with her and maybe spreading on both the left and right side?

Also, I don’t see anything being documented on my medical record that she didn’t understand why I was seeing a Rheumatologist and why I’m seeing a Holistic doctor and not a doctor from Aurora. Per my documentation, you will see that I was diagnosed with Sjogren's, arthritis, and fibromyalgia which might be the reason for some of my pain, but not the pain I am experiencing in my spine or my lumbar.

In addition, she mentioned that I reported my cervical spine had been imaged and evaluated by a rheumatologist how come she never requested a copy of this image? She also included that I mentioned that my symptoms (on my medical records from the doctor who did my surgery in 2010 where the same symptoms as prior to my surgery in 2010). If so, why didn't she recommend anything that would help me get better.

I always expect for doctors, nurses and other professionals who work in health care would enjoy helping others. That is expected! Consequently, they generally place a high priority on assisting patients to have positive experiences. However, my experience was a negative experience despite Neurosurgeon lowest effort. Often the problem should be a minor one and not worth the sustained attention to require a complain, but in this situation this is all I could do.

As I mentioned she did not make any suggestions on what I should do to get better, she immediately was ready to walk out the door, and as she was I stopped her and asked her if she had any suggestions on what I should and should not do to get better. I asked if I should continue to see my chiropractor, acupuncture, and massages. She said, “Yes just do those,” and walked out the door immediately.

When I scheduled this visit, it was to see Neurosurgeon and not her APNP . The information below copied and paste directly from the Healthcare website you will see exactly what referenced to the cost of care for seeing the Neurosurgeon. In addition, the last note on my medical record she documented that she personally performed the services described in the documentation in conjunction with APP, in her presence. Not TRUE! So now I owe $700.00 for a visit that didn't do me justice.

Desired outcome: I received a letter from the Patient billing that they did research and that the bill of $700.00 will not be adjusted. I never received a call nor an email to resolve this issue.

New to WI and should've walked out. I had the unfortunate experience of landing in Urgent Care on Good Hope Rd. I have had an earache for 3 days. I made appt for 1pm. When I arrived for 1pm, I'm told by the "mute" receptionist, with her badge turned around, that I had a 1pm "reservation". Interesting distinction. I asked 2x where I was on the reservation...

Aurora Health Care the outcome of a billing dispute for a doctor visit on May 9th 2023 (acct. # [protected])

I was asked to come in for a visit to my doctor on May 9th 2023 because of some lab values the doctor did not like. While I was there, a nurse asked me if I would do a wellness visit. My answer to the nurse was this : I will do the wellness visit if there is no additional charge. I then went on to explain to the nurse that I am charged for all extras due to the type of medicare plan I have. the nurse told be there would be no addtional charge.

Patient Billing Contact Center lead : Brianna stated to me during our final communication : the nurse was not responsible for any billing or insurance type information. My response to that is : if that is the case, the nurse should have simply stated, "I don't know if there will be an addtional charge". If she said that, I would not have had the wellness visit. The nurse made an error (and honest error but still an error) in telling me that there would be no addtional charge. So now Brianna in billing is telling me that even though the nurse is giving out incorrect information that she would know nothing about, Aurora is not responsible for that error in any way ! That is so very very wrong !

Desired outcome: I should be responsible for the "Office or other outpt visit portion of the bill, however Aurora should be responsible for the "Annual Wellness Visit Subsequent Visit" portion of the visit.Respectfully, Arden Borchardt

This same thing happened to me at Aurora!

I had concerns about the cost of a colonoscopy because Aurora said they cannot bill it as preventative as I had a polyp found on my previous colonoscopy.

My doctor and the entire staff said "Not to worry!, we do Colonoscopys all the time and they are very affordable. We will provide you with a phone number before your procedure to ensure you know the cost"

I called the number and nobody could give me a cost. They said the same thing as "It won't be that bad as your insurance is accepting this procedure"

At first I was billed over $5k in bills. 3 months later, it went down to $2500 and they said there was an " insurance correction". I have been fighting this since because I don't believe anything they tell me and want to talk to a manager. I also cannot afford it!

They have since sent my bills to collections stating the clock for collections started the exact second they sent me the first bill for $5k! Now my credit is ruined!

Thanks Aurora!

Aurora Health Care Aurora health system

I have never felt less valued as a patient. Aurora is only in it for the numbers they turn.

Primary care doctor will not listen to my issues or how I actually feel. She only wants to keep pushing me off on other specialty departments for tests.

I went for a cardio stress test for no reason. Heart was never a complaint. Reviewed my chart and doctors notes. He stated he saw me for 45 min with conversation. I saw him for less than 3 min total. He charged me for 90 min total with test review and charting.

I get called to schedule an appointment and if I don’t answered due to being at work I spend my whole lunch hour on hold only to be told they will call back.

My advice is get back to medicine not just billing. I have no confidence left in your health system. I am more than just a number or billable insurance holder. Going back to Bellin where hopefully they have not lost that connection with the patient.

Desired outcome: For patients to feel they are people not cattle being run through the mill. To be able to talk to my doctor for a few minutes at the appointment and not be told she has no time.

Aurora Health Care Aurora Outpatient Behavioral Health Sheboygan

While in the AODA IOP, Meghan Forsythe created a hostile environment during our group session and Jessica McCardell did nothing to properly prevent or resolve the issue.

While I expressed that I did not want to participate in outside meetings like AA numerous times, Megan pushed the issue during group and would not take numerous hints to leave it alone and that I did not want to discuss the matter any further.

The situation escalated when I expressed my feelings to be left alone and to drop the subject. Other people in the group became afraid and felt threatened.

I was brought to a room by Megan and Jessica to discuss the problem. After the discussion I decided to leave the group for the day.

This whole situation could have been prevented if Megan had respected my choices and feelings.

Shawn P Carey [protected]

Desired outcome: Meghan needs to respect a person's choices!!!!

Aurora Health Care treatment during workman's comp appointment by David Osterwind,PA-C

I'm contacting to complain & bring to attention my experience & what I feel was a lack of listing & taking into consideration the information that I was providing David F Osterwind, PA-C on O4-03-2023 for a 1:30pm app. I'm a State Corrections Ofr with 25yrs of service & was being seen as a f/u to my urgent care app on 03-29-2023. On the previous day I was assaulted on duty my an inmate I was transporting alone which I received several injuries . Most are 90% healed with the exception of my back. I was examined briefly by PA D. Osterwind at which time he suggested that he would like to send me back ( on light duty) to work "today" meaning April 3rd the same day of my appointment with him. I found this to be off-putting and somewhat strange considering the symptoms that I was explaining to him not to mention I had mentioned already that I work 1st shift and by the time I would have gotten dressed and gotten to work my shift would have passed already. At which time PA D. Osterwind stated that he would come up with a plan of light duty and have me return to work the following day. I tried to explain to PA D. Osterwind that being the nature of my job and it being a state prison that like duty would consist of me just sitting in a chair for 8 hours pretty much doing nothing. I also explain to him that just 5 to 10 minutes sitting in the same position in my car seat which I find to be very comfortable in contrary to the state issued chairs that are available at work that I thought at this time this would cause me more problems then healing. PA D. Osterwind stated that he wasn't going to let me just sit at home when I could be sitting at work. I again attempted to explain the nature of state prisons and explain to him that I have been doing this job for 25 yrs and that I knew exactly how light duty would be handled. ( This is not to say that in the near future I wouldn't be open to light duty, it was the fact that I felt that I was not being listened to, and that with the injury and pain that I was describing I felt that none of that was being taken into consideration) & that we weren't having a conversation about my needs & me getting better but more or less he was just telling me what was going to happen regardless of how I physically felt, & or how I felt this would help in my healing) of course I know my body, and I've had six days of not being able to sleep very & being in pain, of knowing what sitting and being in certain positions does to my back that I feel gives me at least enough credibility to be taken into consideration at least until physical therapy can begin, of what I'm saying. I became so frustrated at the idea of having it just sit in a chair, I didn't feel that this was conducive to healing at this time. I would like to be contacted by someone regarding my situation & PA D. There's more. Ive never felt so undermind in an app before, considering the situation I found it offensive thank you

Desired outcome: I would like to be contacted by a different physician, I would also like to be contacted by David Osterwind,PA-C Superior.

Aurora Health Care Explpratory gall bladder surgery with dr obrochta

This was some years ago but still bothers me greatly. I was scheduled to have exploratory gall bladder procedure. After anesthesia Dr obrochta proceeded to just remove my gall bladder and the exploratory was never done. A few days after my surgery I was having some issues so I went to the emergency room. Bile ducts were dilated and was told I needed emergency surgery. Dr obrochta came in my room and stated he was too busy and didn't have time for another surgery and sent me home. Said he would follow up in 2 days at my follow up appointment. 2 days later I walked In for my follow up and he said oh my God thank God your ok. I thought you were going to die. After you left I was so worried you were going to die or at least be turning green. I don't know how as a Dr you can send someone home knowing they could die. Especially after you did not even read my chart close enough to know I was the exploratory surgery not just the removal to begin with. Terrible experience and I hope no one else has to go through that

Desired outcome: compensation for the ptsd I now have surrounding doctors and surgery as a result of Dr obrochta and his negligence
