My 95 year old blind mother lives in an Independent Living facility. Our only means of communication is her landline, which she has through ATT. We set up a daily wellness check call with the oldest sister to ensure our mother is okay. Each day between 11am-noon, Mom is expected to call one of us. If she doesn't, one of us calls her.
On 8/31/26, we were unable to reach her, so we contacted the facility to check her apartment and let us know. Mom was ok, but had no dial tone. We immediately called ATT to report the outage. It took them 4 days before they showed up to diagnose. Hours later, we were informed the line was down somewhere outside of the facility, and would be fixed by 09/04/26. Since then, NO ONE has contacted us to provide any information whatsoever. Repeated calls to customer service yield NO HELP. Yesterday, 9/16/2026, we got through and were told it would be escalated to a 'manager', who would call back this morning (9/17), and it's almost noon, with, of course, no returned call.
We have put up with horrible connections, constant static noise, and echoes for years. Now, no service AT ALL. Now, one of us has to drive over there to check on her, or contact the facility to knock on her door. It's been nearly 3 weeks she's been without phone service. She's starting to get depressed because it's her ONLY means of communication.
ATT needs to do better.
Desired outcome: FIX IT!
