My wife and I signed up for the 55+ plan with AT&T at a retail partner (BJs Wholesale) in February 2026. The plan we signed up for was to cost $99 per month and would include two lines and an internet air device. I was also to include a free iphone 17 pro max in exchange for an iphone 15 pro max and a new iphone 17 pro in exchange for an iphone 13 pro max. The iphone 13 exchange would result in an additional charge per month as the iphone 17 was considered an upgrade. The Iphone 17 pro max was a direct exchange. We were told that including the air device (which I don't need) was the only way to get the $99 rate. AT&T signed us up for the Unlimited Premium plan instead of the 55 plus plan and is charging us much more than the $99 plan. In fact it is over $150 per month. I've attempted to have AT&T fix the problem twice through their call center. They've told me in the past that they had fixed it but it was never resolved. This was an obvious case of bait and switch. I see from internet postings that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Attached is a photo of the BJ's Warehouse poster at BJs in Fredericksburg, VA detailing the 55+ plan that we signed up for and were switched away from. After a wait of 1.5 hours on the phone to speak to an AT&T supervisor today, AT&T has switched us to 55+ but they told me that the device trade in credit no longer applies with this plan. Further proof that we were lied to by the AT&T reps at BJs. We were originally told that we would be paying $99 for two lines and the air device and would get one free iphone pro max with trade in and discounted iphone 17 with trade. Please look into this and hold both BJs and AT&T accountable for this fraud.
Desired outcome: AT&T should honor the claims of their sales representatives to include two lines and the air device for $99 per month plus the advertised trade in credits.
