AmeriGas Propane Propane tank rental increase of 100% - price gouging

I have a 500 gallon propane tank buried in my yard to fuel my generator which I purchased in 2017. This recent hurricane/tropical storm IAN resulted in using the generator for the 1st extended period since it was installed. Used just over 44 gallons of propane at $5.429 per gallon, according to the bill for refueling the tank. That was earlier this month, today I received a 2nd bill from Amerigas for tank rental renewal of $216.73, the previous year's rental bill was $100.29. I called and spoke to customer service, was told yes, the rental fee goes up a little each year, but over 100% seems a bit extensive, they checked and they say the new rate is correct in their eyes. I recently found out that many companies offer a senior's discount, so I asked about that since I am 71, she said on the tank rental no discount, but if I would have asked about it when ordering the propane earlier in October, that I would have received a 10 cent per gallon discount, which they can't provide retroactively, but I can get it on my next order if requested. I do not understand how a company can gouge it's consumers on everything. I am disabled on a fixed income, my monthly income does not go up, every product and service has increased drastically over the past few years and I am quickly getting to the point where I can't continue living in my house because I can't afford the services.

Desired outcome: Reduce the tank rental fee to last year's price and provide the senior discount on the fuel.

AmeriGas Propane Not getting my propane delivery since 09/30/2922

I placed an order for 185 gallons of propane on September 30, 2022, which was also confirmed by a text on September 30th and it was supposed to be delivered on October 07, 2022. I called on October 10th and have continued to do so everyday since and I am repeatedly told that my order is now a priority, an emergency and he or she is the person to get it done because they have talked to the delivery specialist. I have even had some to say that they have talked to the delivery driver and they are in route to my home. Others have said that the driver said that I am the first one on the list for the next day. I just want the 185 gallons of propane that I have paid for and has been deducted out of my account since October 3, 2022. By the way when the money was deducted out if my account on October 3rd, I also got a text that my ordered was being processed but on October 11th and October 17th I got a text that my order was confirmed but the process procedure was removed. Everyone says the same thing but no one can get me the propane.

Desired outcome: I want my 185 gallons of propane that I paid for 30 days ago. They had no problem with taking my money so deliver my propane.

AmeriGas Propane Propane leak

I called about a gas leak from the line going into the house. I turned the tank value off and called Amerigas. After three more calls yesterday, a driver arrived and told me he was not a technician and put a red tag on the tank. He said someone would be out first thing the next day. No one arrived so I called the 800-emergency number again. No record of a serve call scheduled, and they have no appointments available at all. I asked to speak to a supervisor who said she would email the service manager to email me ASAP.

Well, no email or calls and no heat, hot water or ability to use stove. This is not the first time I have had issues with them, and I would not recommend AmeriGas to anyone.

Desired outcome: I would like someone to call me back and let me know when they are sending someone to fix the leek. It has been 24 hours and it is not getting any warmer out.

AmeriGas Propane Amerigas committed fraud and they only want to apologize?

A few months ago, I asked the local Amerigas for a quote. They told me on the telephone that they needed a CC to secure an appointment, which I gave them. Nothing else. Nobody called me to set up a site survey, so I called another company who installed my propane tank, line and fill. Being that this was a new home and winter was coming, I didn't have time to mess around.

I get a call last week from Amerigas installer saying he wanted to do a site survey and I told him I went with another provider. He turned around and submitted the site survey costs of $194.96 which was taken out of my checking account. I called today and find out that Amerigas had set me up on auto billing even though I never authorized it. The person on the telephone tells me that they cant credit my account back because of autobilling that I never authorized. She tells me that Amerigas will send me a refund check in one month! That is fraud all day long. You don't steal funds out of someone's account for services not provided and then tell that person you will send them a check in one month! Amerigas has committed fraud.

Desired outcome: I want my stolen funds today, not one month from now.

AmeriGas Propane No Shows nor Calls for Scheduled Appoiments

On 10/21/22 I was scheduled for an initial consult with AmeriGas @8AM. However, approx. 8:30 AM I called the phone number listed on website (never allowed to speak w/anyone in local office of Morehead City, NC) to determine when/if someone would arrive. Much to my dismay, I was advised that I had been rescheduled for Monday 10/24/[protected]@8AM. On Monday the same situation repeated itself and none arrived. At this juncture, I was told that someone would reach out to me to reschedule. As of today, Wednesday, 10/26/22 no one has called nor emaild nor offered an explanation/apology for such unprofessional/negleglant conduct exhibited by this company (AmeriGas).

This is the only thing that this company could really offer me at this point because they certainly do not have enough trustworthiness for me to invest my time nor finances.

Sincetely,

Denise Shavon Edmonds

Desired outcome: Apology & explaination for professional negligance

AmeriGas Propane Propane Delivery

On October 17, 2022 at apprx 9:30am we received a propane delivery from our local Amerigas dealer. We were home at the time of delivery. There were 2 employees present, one at the truck, the other at the tank. They were here for at least 20 minutes and were having problems. They said it was because of the meters on the truck. They decided to leave and said that they would be back. My tank was at 65% before and after the delivery attempt but I received a text showing that 42.8 gallons of propane had been pumped. They came back to our house after stopping at another customer's house in our subdivision. Again they attempted to pump propane. I explained that I still had received a text showing 42.8 gallons pumped. They said that was to be ignored and that they would call in and explain their problem. They managed to get propane in the tank and said that they pumped 23.8 gallons. No ticket was left when they left. Again they said they would call it in. Now the tank is overfull @ 90% . Normal is 80%. I have been invoiced for 42.8 g on Inv # [protected] on my account.

Desired outcome: Having called 4 times to Customer Service last week, I have gotten nowhere. I want the 19 gallons overcharge credited to my account before I pay.

AmeriGas Propane Propane Delivery

My husband and I ordered and paid for propane on 9/4/2022. We still have not received a delivery. We have lived at our current location for 4 years with no issues. The company has made changes, you can no longer walk in and everything goes to the call center which will tell you the same thing day after day about your delivery.

It will be delivered today or tomorrow but we exercise the right to prioritize.

We have been told our issue is escalated, that our order was cancelled and also they reset the tank to look like we are at 82% which is not possible when we are actually at 18%.

It is cold in Ky and it snowed yesterday and we could not turn the heat on because of how low we are on propane.

We use propane to heat, cook and bathe in our home. All deliveries are promised within 10 business days. It has been 28 days since we placed and paid for our propane.

They keep changing our delivery dates, this is not acceptable.

From my understanding this whole town is having issues with Amerigas and their unfair practices.

Desired outcome: We need our Delivery ASAPStatus Date Activity Amount Balance09/07/2022 Payment Received -$343.22 -$343.22Order Reference # [protected]

AmeriGas Propane Delivery

Amerigas/Sawyer Gas has been propane provider over 25 years. For the last two years it has been impossible to get the propane tank refilled. We hava prepaid for propane gas and in the previous years we call the customer service and get a refill of our propane tank within a day. Currently customers have to call a call center in another country and talk to a customer service person. All deliveries are routed from one central location for the whole United States. Propane truck drivers get a iPad notification of who to deliver gas to. I started calling the call center 4 weeks ago to get a refill for my propane tank. Call center cannot tell you when delivery time will be. Call center instructs you to be home and have phone lines open, which means do not go to work if you want a propane delivery. The call center does not follow up when customer requests a follow up call. Supervisor at the call center does not take or return calls. Today after 4 weeks of calling the call center a propane truck driver shows up at my house. He did not call to say he was arriving and he was not notified propane tank was empty by the call center. When a tank is empty the delivery person has to check for leaks before filling the tank. The Amerigas call center suggested I purchase the gas tank and find a new propane gas provider. Amerigas has no customer service. Customers who prepay for propane are to be rewarded with 4 weeks WITHOUT hot water, gas grill or fireplace usage because there is no propane in the tank. Amerigas bases delivery on predicted gas usage and if you call and say tank is empty it does help.

Desired outcome: Send out a delivery truck within 3 days of customer calling to refill the propane tank.

AmeriGas Propane Amerigas in Mayfield, KY

my complaint is that Iv'e been with Ohio Valley Gas Company for years and never had one problem with them. Ameri gas buys Ohio Valley out and now I had a problem with them delivering gas. I was told 3 times about a delivery date and finally I get delivered @ 23% of gas. I'm in a wheel chair and on disability. i recieve a statement from them yesterday the 13th of October that my tank rental bill had doubled from $36.00 per 12 months to $69.89 for 12 months. My tank hasn't

been serviced since it was set 12 years ago, what has changed? I feel like I'm being taking advantage of. This tank isn't worth that much per year. I want back to the $36.00 per year.

Desired outcome: Delivery to be made when I'm told it will be delivered and the rediculous tank rental price to be dropped

AmeriGas Propane Not removing your propane tank from my property

I had to close my account due to poor service well over a month ago. Your 500 gallon propane tank is on my property has never been picked up in spite of several emails to your district manager and phone calls to your "service" line.

As stated in my email, I am now charging AmeriGas for a rental charge for leaving your tank on my property and refusing to pick it up.

The very lack of response from your company is one of the reasons I quit your company.

Would appreciate a response and removal of your propane tank.

AmeriGas Propane Residential Propane service

Amerigas, formerly Foust Fuels has serviced my now deceased fathers home in Alamance County NC for ~15 years for heat & hot water. The house has been rented for 10+ years.

In 2022 the heating system failed and was replaced by an electric system. Since this replacement and Amerigas changeover, I have been receiving charges I've never encountered previously including $99 to lock in the current price for the year, a $187.15 tank rental, $150 "disconnection fee" when there was NO disconnection, a county tax which is not included in other propane services in this county including the service I have for my personal home.

After calling 3 times to have charges removed and discuss with Amerigas I have determined to go with another company that doesn't have the exorbitant fees I am seeing in this company. I am disconnecting as quickly as possible and will be refuting the extra fees I have stated.

Desired outcome: Contact me ASAP and Removal of extra fees and taxes.Debra Heydt336 266 6677In reference to 3825 Bolden PlaceHaw River NC 27258

AmeriGas Propane Propane service

I'm beyond frustrated with amerigas they closed all the offices and farmed out the call center to God knows where. I cannot get them to help me with unresolved issues as far as billing or liheap payments. I'm low income. In Michigan. Disabled and have to rely on agencies to help keep my house heated. The invoices never get paid due to not being able to get both mine and amerigas signature on the invoice which is required for payment. The call center has never heard of liheap. Can't give me any info on my bill do not speak English the supervisor tells me they don't have a fax and cannot rectify my needs. And they will never open an office again. They charge me for things I don't owe. Won't remove the charges. And just don't care. I'll be filing a complaint with the bbb and changing my service provider

Desired outcome: They open an office. They have people to call in Michigan that understand liheap. They remove charges from my bill. They get a gd fax machine they resolve issues to the satisfaction of the customers keeping them in business.

AmeriGas Propane Remove unused tanks

I have 2 tenant houses on farm. Tenants contract with amerigas. Over a year ago tenant at 1 house left. House has 30 year old 500 gallon aboveground. I called amerigas & told them tank was not being used, new hvac was installed no longer propane heat. Subsequent renter did not set up account with amerigas. Amerigas sent email confirming they would pick up tank. A year later it's still here, rusting away & taking up space. They actually sent a guy out about a month ago (renter saw him) but apparently all he did was read gauge. House #2 renter left, closed account. I want tanks (2 120's) removed. 8 calls taking 9.75 hours of my time in last 3 days, 7 reps (weirdly, i got the same rep twice--we were both shocked) & i am told i can't authorize tank removal because i am not account holder--despite fact the account is closed (so how can there be an account holder?). Fed up with amerigas. There is an alternative supplier in my town. I already switched my own service about 10 years ago. Contacting lawyer to send letter to amerigas telling them to remove tanks. It will cost $$ but the stress of dealing with this company is killing me. For the record, i deeply miss my "little" gas company, office in Ranson WV. After 30+ years I knew all the people, office & drivers, & if there was a problem i always knew who to talk to. Amerigas bought them. Instant deterioration. If you live in loudoun/fauquier etc northern virginia, hunt country propane is still great.

Desired outcome: Get these tanks off my property!!

AmeriGas Propane AmeriGas Billing Department

AmeriGas personnel. The new owners paid the for the remaining gas resulting

in a credit to us.

September 1. 2022 invoice shows a $1559.51 credit to our account. We were

told to expect a check in7-10 business days.

As of September 28, 2022, we have yet to receive our refund after numerous

phone calls and speaking with AmeriGas representatives. Due to the lack of

cooperation on behalf of AmeriGas, we are left with the impression that we are

just getting a run around and they have no intention of refunding what is due to

us. After 20 plus years with AmeriGas and never late on a bill, their lack of

cooperation is not acceptable

Desired outcome: A refund that is owed to us.

AmeriGas Propane Removal of tank

I need Amerigas to remove their 250-gallon tank from my property. I purchased my home in July 2021. I began service with a competing propane company at that time. Amerigas has an empty, rusting, unsightly 250-gallon tank on my property.

I've called Amerigas six times, each time spoken with a different customer service representative, and six tiimes have been promised the tank will be removed. The various terms they've used are that my request with be expedited, prioritized, escalated. I will say that all six were friendly and professional, I'll grant Amerigas that. Yet there it still sits.

At first I was told they're a bit back-logged with tank removals - COVID, supply chain disruptions, etc. Then I was told they never remove tanks in the November to April timeframe (the tank is above ground).

I went with a competitor simply because of propane pricing but this poor customer service (14 months and counting awaiting tank removal) will certainly impact any decision in the future to become a customer.

The tank is an eyesore. What do I need to do, what phrase have I not used that I should, to get this tank removed? Do I really need to file a complaint with the BBB, or file a small claims action, or forward this to my attorney? Can't this be resolved amicably?

Desired outcome: Please remove your empty 250-gallon propane tank from my yard.

AmeriGas Propane Inground tank

I purchased this house in April 2019. Even though the previous homeowner did not receive an annual rental bill, Amerigas started it with me. The tank was buried in 2005. Over the past two months, I have contacted Amerigas five times to buy or remove the tank. As of today, Amerigas customer service told me they will not remove a buried tank, it is my responsibility to dig it up and leave it at the side of the road for them to pick up. Amerigas will not sell me the tank, they quit selling underground tanks recently.

Amerigas customer service priced gas to me today at $4.04/gallon plus additional hazmat fees, delivery fee, etc. I found another gas supplier willing to deliver propane to me today for $1.96/gallon, no fees. For a 500-gallon tank, that is nearly $1000 savings plus I would save the annual rental fee. Amerigas appears to be severely overcharging for propane because they know they own the buried tank and I have to buy propane from them.

Desired outcome: Sell the tank to me or have your service crew remove YOUR tank from my property.

AmeriGas Propane Propane tank

Propane tank has been sitting right next to my door, not hooked up properly to the underground gas line, for 6 months. The tank was deposited there initially because the service department said they couldn’t drive on my yard with snow present to place it near the gas line hook up. They said it would be temporary. 6 months later it’s still hooked up with a rubber hose, sitting right in front of my door, and Amerigas will not move it. They are now saying they won’t move it because I haven’t paid for the gas. I paid for the service which has yet to occur, and I paid for a large portion of the one time fill. I am not paying for rest if Amerigas is not ever going to complete the service I already paid for.

Desired outcome: Move the tank and hook it up to the gas line.

AmeriGas Propane A rental fee has begun on my tank july 2021

Ronald Yearwood acct # [protected], July 2021- June 2022 is the disputed period. I received a rental statement in July 2022 and promptly called cust. service for a resolution and cancelled service on July 7, 2022, I believe, and I thought the matter resolved. My service started in July 1971 and the tank was on loan to me, I have the contract. I had no prior knowledge that rent would start in July 2021 and did not receive any billing until July 2022. I request the rental fee and any late fee be cancelled, because I did not have any knowledge of the fee starting.

I keep receiving past due notices for the tank removal of my propane tank. Amerigas allowed my 83 year old mother to run out of gas for 10 days in January 2022 and did not come to fill the tank for 10 days after I called to notify them. My mom who lives in my home, depends on propane for heat and cooking. I found Amerigas to be impersonal, and did not care...

AmeriGas Propane Leak check charge.

This started around 18 July when I called to have a 100lb cylinder replace at my home. I was informed this would be done by the 25 July. Several days passed that date I called again and told it would be done in a few days as they had a truck breakdown. Once again no response and I called again. This time I was informed that they no longer use the 100lb cylinders a would have to install a 150 gallon tank. This was scheduled for 15 August. The service technician showed up and replaced the empty 100 lb cylinder with another 100 lb cylinder. This is the way it has always been done. Never in the passed have I ever received a leak check charge! A simple bobble check would be all that would be needed where the tank and line are connected! Calling customer service to complain about the $160.00 charge got me a runaround. I feel that this charge is uncalled for because these tanks belong to America’s and are your responsibility! It’s bad enough that you charge $99.99 for the service call!

Desired outcome: Drop the charge for the leak check and reduce the service charge ..
