car title/lean release
Paid my GMC Yukon off on Jan 5. 2011, contacted Ally and asks what happens now, they informed me that my title would be mailed out on the Jan 13. It is now Feb. 3 and i have seen no title yet, i contacted the company and they said they had no answers and would mail me out a lean release form of which i could take to the DMV and get a new title. Answer me this? How for 5 yrs, which is how long ive been paying for the car, no payment notice or reminders or any other corespondence got lost in the mail, i even got a letter saying "congrats on paying your car off a week ago, but when it came time to send my title out there was a problem, and now i have to go stand in line at the DMV and pay for another title out of my own pocket. I think they lost the title when they transfered from GMAC and there just not saying. Thanks alot for the inconvienence.

lease buy out
These guys really take the cake. Had a lease thru GMAC and decided
to buy the car at the end of the lease with one payment remaining.
Called Ally and they told me to go to the dealer I leased the car
with. So I went to the dealer they got a pay-off and we did the transaction.
For the next weeks Ally kept calling me about he last payment which was included
in the buy-out. To make things worse they left my account open and refused to close
it even after receiving the funds from the dealer. Endless calls to the Philippines
to close this account when I was informed that part of the paper work from the dealer
was not to there liking. Called the dealer again and was told everything was submitted
and approved. Again the next day I get a call from Ally collection debt stating my
account is deliquent. One of the big problems with Ally is that everything is done in the
philippines and not in the U.S. I've purchased several cars in the past at the end of my
lease at GMAC localy and walked out with the account closed. Ally is a joke and I
intend to file a complaint with the government. So as of today they have had my money for over
two weeks and I get 12 harrassing calls and negative credit by doing exactly what they asked me to do.
Idiots!
Will never use Ally or GMAC as long as I live!

Never lease a car where Ally provides the financing. I have never seen such employee incompetence. Even the GMC dealership finally admitted that Ally was the worst of the worst. Finally at the end of the lease Ally tried to steal the $8000. of equity I had in the vehicle. Ally wanted the dealership to pay the retail value of the car and not my actual pay-off. In order to protect my equity, I had to pay off the car and write a personal check over $ 25, 000 to protect my equity, forcing me to pay sales tax on the car I traded in for a new one. This non bank bank should be reported to the FDIC for their unfair business practices. No branches mean no service they are certainly not your allay they are your enemy.
Ally is cheating customers.
Residuals are set 10 – 15 percentage points below what they should be. This causes customers to pay off 10 -15 percent more of the cost of the vehicles they lease. This is bad enough and maybe even justified in this risk adverse world, but they are greedy. By adding a $2, 500 buyout premium at the end of the lease, and by making it very difficult for the customer and impossible for a dealer to buy the vehicle for the residual, or even the inflated purchase price, they compound their fraud. By essentially conning unknowledgeable customers, they make unwarranted large profits by selling cars at lease end. My car was worth $10, 000 more than the residual.
They know that for an individual to buy a car at the end of a lease is difficult. The funds have to be available, the state sales tax must be paid, and a dealer will demand payment to handle it because Ally will not sell directly to customers. My dealer did not even return my calls about helping me with buying the car. Customers are rarely going to go through this and the additional costs make the transaction pointless for most of them. So Ally cleans up.
Their prohibition of dealers being substituted for the lessees as buyers at lease end is new to me in 30 years of leasing cars. Ally will not allow dealers to purchase leased vehicles at lease end for the residual, or even for the inflated "purchase price". They require dealers to pay fair market value. For my car, that was $10, 000 more than the residual. They are taking money from customers.
I communicated with Ally about this and all they have to say is that it is “legal”. I think maybe not and I am talking with law firms.
To contact a person at Ally, Robert Stahl is the executive in charge of lease returns. His phone number in Dallas is [protected]. Tell him what you think.
The Ally Bank TV commercials tuanting children are so low and tasteless and they should be banned on all TV's. I did bank with Ally but have since closed all my a/cs with this bank
Unauthorized transfers out of my external checking, even after I closed all of my accounts with Ally. Finally got a representative that told me what was going on and stopped the transfers. Just don't bother with this bank--they don't care.
After watching their television commercials bullying innocent children ad nauseam, I wouldn't use ALLY BANK if they were the only bank on the face of the planet. I'd bury my money in a mason jar somewhere on the "back forty"!
The ad with two little girls. One gets a plastic pony the other gets the real thing is pathetic. Take it off the air. If your firm were located near me none of my family would do business with you.
Sheer and utter incompetence! Not only is it clear that not one customer service rep has a clue, they also just make stuff up. Tried to buy a vehicle at lease end to no avail, so gave up and turned the Cadi in. Ended up they owe me $725 refund. Received a letter in December saying that the check was coming under separate cover. Two weeks later, when i called to inquire where the check was and they said that it was returned with a bad address. Each and every of my dozens of phone calls start with "verify your address." How do they send a check to a six month old changed address? Not only that, how do that cancel a check that was returned due to a bad address, and re-issue said check and send it to the SAME BAD ADDRESS? Who does that? A month later, still holding my breath. Maybe in another month? They have no interest in resolving this.
I had the turn in inspection @ the dealership, I was told their would be no charges.. after leasing a new vehicle thru chrysler credit I received a letter from ally wanting to charge me a $ 475.18 for excess wear on the front tires? The vehicle had 14, 814 miles on it when I turned it in. I am disputing their claim and will see Ally in court.

I agree with everything said here. I actually I'm quite good at this finance thing and ended up leasing 2 vehicles using ally. I did not notice the $2, 500 fee on either of the leases. I went with ally because the other leasing choice was US Bank, which is horrible as well. Luckily I was able to trade one of the vehicles, a 2012 Durango R/T, for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland within 5 months of lease end without loosing any money. The new lease is with Chrysler Financial. I will turn my other car to ally at the end of the lease since I cannot get out of it due to the $2, 500 fee. To add insult to injury, ally does not provide the customer a buyout figure. It is the dealer that has to call in for a buyout. When I traded the Durango, the ally employee asked the salesperson if the customer was listening in. They did not want me to know that the dealer gets $500 of the $2, 500 fee. I believe their practices are illegal since not providing the buyout puts the customer at a disadvantage when negotiating a trade-in. The customer has no idea of what their payoff is w/out the dealer knowing the number. In other words, if your car is worth more than the payoff, the dealer will most likely offer you just the payoff amount. I will never use them again and will probably not lease another GM car because they are mostly leased using ally or US Bank.
Add me to the list. I've been leasing GM cars through GMAC and Ally for over 4 decades with never a problem until I decided to turn my 2012 Cadillac SRX in on a Buick Enclave. The additional $2, 500 kicker puts it out of the range where the dealer could take it in and turn a nice profit, so I either come up with the difference of finish my lease out. I plan on finishing the lease out and putting Ally and General Motors on my don't not patronize list.
harassing phone calls from [protected]
For the last several years I receive constant phone calls from a credit agency calling itself "Ally Financial" (at least that's what pops up on my caller ID) looking for someone that does NOT live at my residence. I have asked them repeatedly NOT to call my home and fill my answering machine with unwanted comments/requests regarding someone else's credit. They apologize, promise to update their records, and the calls stop...temporarily. Within a couple of weeks, the calls start back up. My number is registered through the National Do Not Call Registry and I have filed repeated complaints and have even changed my phone number THREE times now. The calls still continue unabated. What can I do to get this BS to STOP!
Interesting. We too have an unpublished number and are on the do not call list. My first call from them looking for a neighbor! I'm definitely going to send a complaint to the FCC. You may also want to contact your State Attorney General's office and log a complaint too. They are there to protect their citizens from such harassing calls. I just hope we don't start getting regular calls from them!
I have the same complaint, they are calling my constantly for my boyfriends ex I explained we have no contact nor ever plan to and to please remove our number. They promised to take care of this matter right away andwere very sorry. But weeks later they are still calling we too are on the do not call list.
How do you get the calls to stop?

discrmination
In the Late Sixties or early seventies, test was taken to prove how separating one distinct group of people from the other can distort their ability from learning. The test was give to; elementary students, middle student and some adults. The groups were blonde hair blue eyed children and adults along with dark haired dark eyed students and adults. The dark...

I have a friend that has had two ACH transfers requested from fraudulent Ally bank accounts, and succceeded in stealing near $50, 000. the second account was a new account and only 3 government agency's had the account numbers, the theif is wise and well, Ally Bank unofficially sanctions identity theft, you would be wise to contact your bank and have a permanent stop payment on any ACH transfers requested by Ally Bank, then again if you have stole someones identity, and they have a great credit rating, you can steal freely from anyones account that you can supply account numbers to if you open an ally bank account

Ally Bank offers CD rates that they do not keep. You buy a CD, they lower the rate, hoping you won't notice, and if you do, you get a customer service number that always offers to "forward your request to the research department" and they'll "call you back in a week". This has happened OVER and OVER again. Now that my CD has matured they are trying to stiff me on the interest rate originally promised and underpay interest. ALLY BANK IS RUN BY CROOKS.
Why do i have to use Ally Bank to complete this transaction? Are they different than other online banks.
tv commercials
The tv commercial with the pony is the worst! Besides being mean and unfair and creepy, I am most bothered about the chuvanism, the discrimination against the plainly-dressed dark-skin girl, and the continuation of the female beauty syndrome many girls and women fight against--weight, hair color, make-up, plastic surgery, etc.
The white, blonde girl wins over the minority girl.
The boy who gets the cardboard truck or the girl who cannot ride bike out of marked area are annoying, but this pony commercial contains insidious messages.
There is a hidden, subtle, and injurious message here, that is close to evil.
You can "contact us" at the Ally Bank site to express your dismay over this ad campaign.

OMG! You cannot be serious!
"discrimination against the plainly-dressed dark-skin girl, and the continuation of the female beauty syndrome many girls and women fight against--weight, hair color, make-up, plastic surgery, etc."
It's a commercial, PLAIN and SIMPLE.
It's amazing that minorites keep drumming up the "race/minority/discrimination card" for anything and everything.
Blaming someonelse for their short comings.
"dark skinned girl" Are you color blind? She is WHITE, and is NOT "Ethnic". No matter what distorted conclusions you have come to.
And on a further note, the current workforce is now 50% male, and 50% female, so I guess soon I can claim discrimination?
I didn't think so..lol
How about you spend your "quality time" with your children, instead of trolling the internet, posting baseless comments, showing everyone your warped state of mind. Time to comprehend that when you point the finger, you have 3 pointing back at you.
tv commercial
Ally Bank commercials which taunt children are vile, tasteless, corrupt, and just plain disgusting. They should be banned from the TV airways. Just how cruel do you want children to grow up to be. What a poor example for fulfilling the tenets/creed of this organization which I guess exist to serve the public? This Ally Bank commercial projects a heartle...

I think the Ally Bank TV commercials where they employ children and taunt them is deplorable; unless of course, the children are merely acting. However, they do not appear to be acting; and if they are, they're making an oscar winning performance. I would liken this to some of those local commercials where car salesmen use their children's cute little smiles and antics to lure unsuspecting buyers. Ally could do better in order to drum up business. I would never do business with them.

tv ads taunt children
Ally Bank TV ads are pathetic. They taunt children.
They are sadly mistaken if they think I will do business with them when they do this.
Yes, the message they are trying to portray is that they don’t play games with their customers.
But, they have so overstepped the boundaries of human decency they will fail.

Do any of these thoughtful comments to the arrogant, insipid ad managers and "executive" wannabes at Ally ever get to them?
Uh, just so we all understand: if you can trick and manipulate very young naive people, we should trust you with our assets?
This is how Ally expects to earn investors, and /or borrowers' TRUST ?
These ###s at Ally are foolish, immature and self-centered.
Who wants to trust their money to people who take advantage of children's trust and naivete' ?
Not me.
I've just been watching these ads again - after two years Ally is still running them. I don't pretend to know what actually went on when they were filmed, but I still feel a punch to my stomach when I see the little boy asking for his ice cream, and he has to deal with the nasty guy pretending he can't give him any. Even worse reaction to the ad with the little girl who wants a pony. This is utterly cynical advertising, and it does skate close to psychological child abuse. Ally, you don't impress with this ad campaign. Perhaps those who like to pulling wings off flies might chuckle at them...
Obviously you are not listening to the majority of the viewers. Your ads are not merely in poor taste, they offer a 'normalization' of child abuse. Anyone with any common sense should have recognized the mistreatment of children in your ads as abusive. Anyone who does not see it for what it is has probably been mistreated or has mistreated others, like you, for their own gain. Unfortunately, we hear/learn enough on the news about child abuse. We do not need some misguided, overpaid writer(s), abusing their power, using television to encourage mentally unstable people, be it parents/relatives/caregivers or strangers, into cruel and demoralizing treatment of children. Please accept my challenge, take these horrible ads off the air, and create a better commercial. Who knows, ...you might even be remembered for your product rather than your poor judgement.
I totally agree with Harrypotter and Di Medici and Eldor and turn off the Ally commercials when they appear. Disgustingly abusive to children.
The people complaining about these ads have very low I.Q.s and possible mental disorders, because no children are abused in any way. I feel these are reasonably accurate spoofs about getting the runaround. I'd love to have a DVD with all the ads, so I could sit there and laugh. :-))
How do we get this terrible ad off the air?
i agree with average joe, it is just a ad, i have seen worse adds
"EMOTIONALLY ABUSIVE" ROFLMAOOOO
Their actors you idiots!
LOL, Threecats is spot on!
These are child ACTORS! lol
They learned a very valuable lesson in life, very early in life. Amazing the Liberal whiners on here who live in "Fairytale Land"
Maybe we should ban the movie "Peter Pan", ..Captain Hook is a evil man and treats children badly...ROFLMAO
Some of these comments shows exactly why America is going to crap.
Soldiers getting killed, Millions out of jobs, Kids killing kids, Economy is trash, Kids having kids, etc, etc, etc
..AND THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT?
How about you spend more time with your children instead of surfing the internet posting ridiculious comments. GROW UP
Crybabies. Every toy ad on TV exploits children in one way or the other. I happen to think this is one of the most unique ad campaigns in years and actually happened upon this site searching for them. You can bet one thing and that is the kids in these ads will have learned a valuable lesson early in life. Study and understand the fine print and you may not be one of the countless dolts forced from your home because you didn't know your rates would go through the roof.

Got online to open an account and filled-in all my personal info(ss#, address, & PIN) only to have the information disappear and I had try again. After 2nd try and still taking me back to the personal info page(now blank), I called the 800#. When I reach someone(it sounded like the Philipines) she couldn't see my information using my last 4 #s of my SS. She asked for the full SS# and that is when I decided it is not worth the risk and hung up the phone. This old GMAC bank is like their cars...just not up to par and not worth the drive!

Additionally, its been 3 months and nothing...how hard can it be? I am so upset I'm being held ransom by Ally when they do not even own the car anymore and got fully paid! joke!

On 03/29/22 my first attempt got throug in less than a minute but the call was extremly noisy and it sound like a call center in some backwater country. Not happy
For some reason the first payment ..charged twice.. i called customer service and they told me that can be refunded in ten day..the told me to call on the 29th, but the 29 is today Saturday..? They told me that I have to call for the refund process...

My Dodge has been paid off for five years and alley is still showing a lien on it now I'm trying to get a letter of release they say they can't email it to me they have to mail it took for ever to get someone to talk to looks like after you pay your vehicle off they just forget you
Same exact problem here in Baltimore, MD. Paid off vehicle in June 2021 and ALLY said they would mail everything. Flash forward to September, nothing in the mail. Took vehicle for trade in to dealership I purchased car at and upon them checking pay off amount to validate when they called ALLY things checked ok until it was time to submit lien release. Now we are at November 1 and no paperwork yet? Even though after many calls they said they would mail and fax paperwork?
I'm having the same problem. Can a lawyer look at this and see if there is a class action potential here?
same problem! I paid off my 2014 Chevy Volt in June of 2018...I have called 3 times to get my title! It is 9/17/19...still no title!. ...I am promised that it is being mailed and never shows. Then one of the agents told me that since my car was totaled that the insurance paid off my car! OMG! My car was not totaled. I was in an accident and it had body repair, which the insurance paid for...but not TOTALED! The customer service agents were pleasant but so far NOT helpful!
Update...
Due to all the calls that i made and mis-information given. The lady yesterday told me to wait a few more days the mail could have been delayed. Which is what i was asking them for 3 days in a row and they kept saying there is nothing they can do, i should of received it already.
Car paid off early Sept. Just got the title today about 3 1/2 weeks later. I'm so happy, i did speak to my attorney about this also. There is no law in my state for it to be mailed certified or with tracking. When i went with the letter they sent to get the title there was a fee of $95 i had to pay. I refused, my attorney was going to handle that for me, but now they don't have to. Thank God!
Thank you Ally for coming through! I am now a very happy customer!
Same here, i paid off my Ally loan, and they said they sent the title, 3 weeks later, still no title, they claim they mailed it. I asked for proof that they mailed it, they have none. They didn't bother to send it priority with tracking, so how do i know you mailed it. I received a check in the mail for .28cents for over payment. But no title... Really!
After calling several times, they uploaded a bogus letter, saying they have no interest in the vehicle... hummm really!
Letter does not say release of lien nor does it say Paid in Full.
I am referring this matter to my attorney, i have no time or patience to play games, they did not have to get a letter or go to the DMV for their payment.
I PAID OFF (1YR. EARLY) IN FEBUARY 2018; MY CADI (2013-CTS) ;@ WHICH TIME, MOVED FROM CALIFORNIA TO TEXAS, & REGISTERED IT (W/TX. PLATES) .HERE WE ARE IN JULY AND STILL GOING ROUND, AND ROUND TO NO AVAIL WITH ALLY, AND SACRAMENTO "DMV" FOR MY TITLE .. IT'S BEEN HELL ! SACRAMENTO HAS NOT RECIEVED ANYTHING FROM ALLY ;WHICH, WHEN THEY (SAC, DMV)WILL ISSUE A TITLE TO ME ;WHICH INTURN I 'VE GOT TO SEND TO AUSTIN, TX. INORDER TO REISSUE ME A NEW UPDATED VALID TITLE ! FOR NOW I'M BETWEEN A ROCK, & A HARD PLACE ! ALLY SAID THEY SENT IT, AND SAC. DMV SAYS THEY HAVEN'T RECIEVED THE LEAN RELEASE ! LATEST CONVERSATION WITH ALLY WAS THAT I WOULD BE SENT A (PAID IN FULL :LEAN RELEASE BY MAIL) & TO WALK INTO ANY CALIFORNIA DMV WITH IT; AND IT WOULD BE ALL TAKEN CARE OF ! YEA! SURE! I'M 14, 000 MILES TO CALIFORNIA /WITH NO TRAFFIC ! "LORD"!:..., GIVE ME PATIENCE ! CAUSE IF YOU GIVE ME STRENGHT..., I'M GONNA NEED BAIL MONEY !
Having same problem now! HELP!
I paid my SOLD vehicle off 10 days ago, still no title. They told me it was not mailed and then it wasn't mailed. So now I don't know what to do. The buyer is PISSED and is now threating to get an attorney and get her money back from me. Well, good luck because Ally has the money!
I am freaking out and have spent over 5 hours on the phone with Ally and keep getting put on hold and told lies.
My vehicle has been paid off for 3yrs... I still have no paper work on it. I would love to have a title stating its all mine. After 3yrs of calling & getting the "It was mailed out" excuse... I figured I'd let it go & my daughter can handle it when trying to close out my Estate once I'm DEAD... That's what it feels like it's come to at this point.
Queue the theme music, because the same thing happened to me! They show my check paying off my loan on July 12, it's now July 30th and still no title. I've called twice and they claim it was mailed to me onJuly 22nd. B/S...I could have taken a Greyhound bus to their office and back in a week... The post office would have delivered it if it had been mailed on the 22nd. I'm really disappointed in this bank.
