I bought a 6 month auto and a12 month homeowners policy from Allstate and I received an email from them that they received full payment of the premiums for both policies. I did not renew my auto policy with Allstate after I received notification from them that my auto policy premium will go up 11.4% for renewal of the auto policy for the second 6 month period with no changes in coverage. Allstate told me that I will have to pay them $304.04 more for my 12 month homeowners policy because I did not renew my 6 month auto policy with them and the multi policy discount I received is based on me renewing my auto policy. I asked Allstate and the Oklahoma Insurance Department where not renewing my auto policy with them will result in an increase to my homeowners policy is stated on the Allstate declarations and why the Allstate notification that they received full payment for both my auto and homeowners police is void but Allstate did not answer either question and the Oklahoma Insurance Department told me they did not see where Allstate did not follow the Oklahoma Insurance regulations and I will have to consult with an attorney. This is a bait and switch tactic by Allstate because they did not tell me when I first purchased the policies that I will have to either renew my 6 month auto policy at an increased rate or pay a surcharge on my homeowners policy.
Claimed loss: $304.04
Desired outcome: For Allstate to refund me the $304.04 surcharge for my homeowners policy that I paid under protest in order to not lose my coverage.
