After significant delays on the London/Paris Eurostar on 24th June, I called the Novotel Montparnasse at around 21.30 from the train to say I’d be checking in late as my train, which has been due to arrive at 19.00 was nowhere close to Paris. The lady said she’d make a note against my booking. I eventually got into Garde du Nord at 01.45 and had to wait an hour for a taxi. When I arrived at the Novotel at 03.30 it was in darkness and there was no sign of anyone manning the Reception desk. I spent a heart-stopping ten minutes phoning the hotel again and ringing the night bell - multiple times. I am an older lady travelling alone and was beginning to wonder where I could spend the night in the deserted quartier around the station until someone eventually came out. And he had the cheek to admonish me for not being in touch to let them know I’d be late. I showed him proof that I called at 21.30 or so.
I was furious. It was bad enough taking nearly ten minutes to get into the hotel in the middle of the night but this guy’s attitude was downright insulting.
Desired outcome: An apology.
