Before the main incident in October 2024, I started noticing several issues with my KIA:
-Delayed response to acceleration when at a light.
-Tire sensors and crash collision sensors malfunctioning.
-Lane assist pulling me off the road or into oncoming traffic.
-Intermittent power loss while driving.
-Lights not working properly.
-High beams failed to operate in September, and I was told by Burlington WA KIA that there was no fix for the recall during a service/oil change.
-Car going into parking brake mode without activation.
While stopped at a light or stop sign with the car in drive, it would go into reverse when starting to accelerate, causing me to hit a stump and partially tear the front bumper off.
About a week after that incident, while driving home from the store, the car started randomly pulling into the oncoming lane. Thankfully, there was no vehicle at that time. The car then started having weird fluctuations with the speedometer and dash info, jumping from 24.7 miles per g...,000 mile in april 2024 $700.00. Just after that went to add windshield wiper fluid and noticed barely any coolant in reservoir. How does one go thru that much coolant so quick. Also had oil change and was never told coolant was low. It's a good thing I opened hood to refill windshield fluid.
My kia is almost paid off and now a piece of junk. Being told estimated $8200 to continue wiring repairs and still not a guarantee that will fix it. Kia service dept still isnt sure whats causing it and insurance refuses to cover because kia said no sign of fire. Define fire: car didnt go up in flames but did have internal wiring fire that extinguished itself.
I notified kia consumer affairs and they have been no help either. Filed a complaint with nhtsa today and will file complaint with insurance commissioner next. I have been without a vehicle for over 2 months! Kia wants to charge me $50 a day for a loaner and insurance denied a rental.
Not paying another dime to kia until I have resolution!
