I received a bogus charge of $9. 99 on my t mobile phone bill from zong. I never received nor requested any service from
Them and my cell phone carrier says they can not remove the charge! What gives! Can anyone from anywhere now cost you money by simply calling your cell number? What a scam!

Just got a $25 bill from zong on my Phone. I have never heard of this service till now. I have no games, and have no apps related to zong. I was given the number 1.877.207.7972 and it is not in service.

Zong is a scam company

I just received my monthly bill and it had 2 charges from Zong, one for $10 and one for $25!
This is a scam regardless what they say. I haven't added any apps or make in app purchases in over a year.
I called the number beside the charge on my cell bill, [protected] and low and behold the number is not in service.

Hey Ethan.A!
Zong is a mobile payment company that allows users to make payments on the Internet if they have a postpaid mobile phone. This can be used for online games and in-app purchases as well as purchases made on Social Networks :)

I'll be happy to take a closer look if you'd like :) Just send us a Private message on our Facebook page and we'll check it out for you! - http://bit.ly/FidoMobileFB

Some annoying number kept texting me telling me I have to pay random things to Zong when I didn't do anything on Zong. I kept deleting those messages and then Fido charged me a random $190 payment for apparently making purchases when I didn't. Please do something cause I don't know what's going on with my phone. My number is [protected]. Can you please check what those purchases were ad the number that sent me them so I can find a way to identify the person making me make these random payments for no reason.

This company is indeed messed up. I got billed 27.50 for something I didn't buy, I got a text message at first asking me to verify the purchase, and within the same minute, they verified it for me, I was asleep when this happened, I woke up to find out that I've been charged money by Zong for a game that I've never herd of! I have contacted the police, my phone provider (which also say they cant refund me) and I cant get hold of Zong, has anyone got a number or has managed to sort this out another way? I would be grateful.

This company messed up, scamming me. Then telling me to then call my carrier to reverse charges! They send me messages asking if i ordered products with a confirmation code and then instantly send me another message telling me I have bought this/these items. This is a disgrace! and am considering taking it further/legal action, as they are authorizing payment instantly which is impossible unless something dodgy is going on internally.

They are also called echovox, and they work side to side with all the big operators to snatch as much money as they can before you do anything about it, and when you do there is not much you can do because the operators say they don't know what the service which is costing you money really is and they are just intermediarys of the money, and throw you off to other companys like the other companies do to. They want you to waste more time by being the ball in pinball. They earn hard cash from it, that will say every cooperative who's in business with them. Even better when the head-company Zong works together with PayPal so they can also launder all the money they steal from people.

Just today I received a text message from ZONG about some deal they had. Never had I once heard of this site. They gave me a conformation code and what happened a few seconds later? I get a message that my phone was being charged with $9.99 for something I NEVER agreed to buying! I didn't reply with the conformation code. In all honesty, I don't think I'll even receive the thing I supposedly bought. Then I received a message from ATT. I HAD been charged the amount. Well like any person would, I tried to refund it. BUT OF COURSE! I got denied. What a surprise!
What I'm wondering is that is it possible for someone else to send the conformation code? So that I get charged and they run away with the benefits?! If so. What a scam! And a poorly run site.

For anyone on Social sites. When a person that may seem to be a person showing interest in you asks for your number common sense should kick in. And to give this person the PIN number is foolish. This happend to me but I have common sense and did a quick search about Zong and figured it was a scam by someone posing to be from the Philipines. Yeah I shut those idiots down quick. You guys need to be more careful never give a pin sent to your phone to anyone.

I lived here in philippines and was charged 1710 pesos (which is very large amount in our money) for zong purchases. i havent received any confirmation or FYI that they charged me or i purchased something. That's very UNAUTHORIZED! Now it's very hard to dispute this charges.

I would like to inform everyone that if you do not want to have your mobile phone accounts any unauthorized charges made by minors, then disable the premium services on their mobile numbers. Also, it is your responsibility once you gave a mobile phone to your sons or daughters. Zong doesn't charge the mobile numbers without any confirmation from the one holding the actual phone because we are sending either PIN to key-in back to the computer or reply with the keyword as instructed. If your minor child can create an account on games or sites which are intended for adults, then, it is not Zong's responsiblity to check everyone's age when they purchase online using the platform.

I have 2 $29.97 charges from Zong on my cell phone bill. I did not authorize these charges. They are on my 13 year old son's phone line. This is ridiculous . I want a refund.

I also had a charge on my cell bill for Premium Messaging in the amount of $39.96. I did not request this. I called Verizon and they blocked all premium messaging and credited my bill $29.97. I had rather pay $9.99 than $40. Thanks Verizon!

Zong may not be a scam but their business practices prey on minors. They allow things that you would normally need a credit card for to be charged to a mobile phone just by replying to a text message. They feel they have no liability once that pin code has been entered. We learned the hard way and would strongly suggest people avoid this predatory service. It may not be a scam but the people associated with Zong are [censor]!

Re: Verizon Wireless Phone number [protected]. Cust, Tajma Vaughn's line was disconnected due to not payment. Verizon wants $301 just in premium text messaging on this line. Some of these charges are in referrence to the 91010 prem texts. Cust would like to stop the subcription as well as recieving a credit of the charges list previously.

ZONG is not some bogus scam. If you buy something and have it charged through your mobile phone ZONG will show up on your bill since thats who charged it

In response to Evalavad your cell phone bill does show charges but they are added up to the large amounts. My cell bill has these charges that I never authorized the small ones slipped through. Once I seen this months bill due to all the charges I investigated it and found these charges.

Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS -01/04 $6.99
Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS -01/10 $6.99

Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS -01/14 $6.99
Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS -01/20 $6.99

4 Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS @ $6.99/Alerts -03/14 $27.96
2 Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS @ $6.99/Alerts -04/08 $13.98
2 Zong: Alerts - Zong ALERTS @ $6.99/Alerts -04/10 $13.98

total unauthorized charges from ZONG $83.88

So yes it does add up

My name is Hill Ferguson, and I run Product and Marketing at Zong, a leading mobile payments service for social networks and online games. You can learn more about our service at http://www.zong.com. I'd like to address your complaints:

@csinny - please visit our online support form and submit your information so we can investigate your transaction. whatever happened, we'll fix it. you can find our form here: http://www.zong.com/zong/support

@Evalavad - with all due respect, your claim that Zong charged anything to your mobile phone bill for $29 is false. In fact, it's impossible because we do not process transactions greater than $9.99 (in the US). Perhaps you're confusing Zong with another mobile payment provider or service?

I also got a $29 charge because of this "Zong". I NEVER signed up for anything with this place. Now Verizon refuses to take off the charges. I got an anonymous text message which I DID NOT reply to about a month ago. When I tried to go back to it to ask Verizon about it, it was gone...now I have charges that I didn't sign up for!
