Summary - I purchased a rare and valuable WorldMark account called a grandfathered no housekeeping (NHK) account. Starting last week, without notice or explanation, they have begun charging housekeeping fees and are denying my NHK status, they deny that ANY of these accounts were sold past June 30, 1991.

Setsils
For decades I have owned a rare and special worldmark account. When the program first began, they did not contemplate the need for housekeeping fees. The need was caused by the flexibility of the WorldMark program.

After the first year, they changed contracts to give a HK token per 10,000 credits owned. The deadline to stop selling these, now called grandfathered no housekeeping (NHK) accounts was June 30,1991.

My account was purchased on July 16, 1991 16 days after the deadline. However, as you can imagine with such a large rule change, there was great pressure on the sales staff to see more of these accounts. When I made my purchase, it was confirmed by sales, sales management, Peggy Fry, Tom Kumma, etc.

Over the decades I have called and spoken with senior management, owner services, etc many times just to reconfirm the status of my account. Not until last week did HK charges start, that is the first time they have called into question the grandfathered status of my account.

I have found a person in my situation whose house burned down in 2003 so he has no documentation.

I've spoken with a few timeshare resellers who specialize in worldmark. They assure me that many NHK accounts were sold in July 1991.

I have reached out to the WorldMark board of directors asking to discuss it with them.

This is silly pure situation of theft.

It would be wonderful if you can provide any assistance.

Claimed loss: Between $5,000 and $25,000 between loss of account value, charging HK fees, pain & suffering and hours of talk, writing and research.

Desired outcome: I want a legally binding commitment attached to my worldmark account, assuring the grandfathered NHK status of my account in perpetuity. Also, they need to do a discovery and fix all NHK accounts sold after June 30, 1991.
