Wimpy International review: cleanliness and poor attitude from manager

It is with much disappointment that I feel to write this complaint. For many years our family enjoyed the hospitality and convenience that Wimpy ensures wherever our travels take us through SA. With our recent vacation to George/Mossel Bay we thought to arrive early for our flight in order to (what we thought will be an enjoyable meal) eat breakfast at Wimpy (Wimpy, George Airport).

With stepping in we were seated by the Manager, no mention of the airconditioning being out of order for the past year (as we later saw on Google reviews), and served by a different waiter. Receiving our menus we began to browse through the options. I tried opening pages and found that they were stuck together by, what looked like, old cheese sauce and reeked of mold and sour milk. Upon discovering this we called the Manager (Valencia) who only stared us down silently, took the menu and left. No apology, no excuse.

Soon afterwards it was clear how disconcerned she really is with the hospitality industry as she placed this contaminated menu back on the stack of menus. Upon further attentiveness from our part it is very clear how negligent Valencia's managerial style is. She yells across the floor when addressing a waiter or figets with either her shoulder under her shirt or taps on her skirt around the crotch area. She does not do any rounds on the floor ensuring good service to customers, rather she will be found at the entrance surrounded by waiters chatting and laughing.

No follow up visit after our dissatisfaction ever happened from Valencia's part. It was clear that she wanted nothing more to do with our table.

The waitress, almost immediately after she saw us speaking to the manager, took off her name tag for us to identify her by. And it is clear that little to no attention is given to the waiters' dress code, the condition of the trays and glasses, and general maintenance. When the food came to the table, there weren't sufficient cutlery for everyone at the table.

When we hurried out, not even Valencia nor the nameless waiter greeted our party of 5.

I doubt that our trust in Wimpy will ever be fully regained.
