The agents didn't allow you to speak with the managers
When I applied for Why Not Leasing LLC, it was mentioned in the advertisement that the lease was flexible and I didn’t have any specific time to pay it off. However, I have paid already $1, 500 for the dryer and washing machine. I needed to pay another $800 and suddenly the company informed me that I have only 4 weeks to pay it off. Something strange has happened with them. As well as the agents knew nothing about it and they didn’t allow you to speak with managers.
50 inch flat screen tv
I was told in the Sears store that I would make Bi Weekly payments of $52 for 6 months and after that 6 months i would OWN my tv. I just called why not lease it as my 6 months is over NEXT month and they told me i will not own my tv unless i pay an extra $345 on top of what the tv costs. and if I don't pay that extra money i can either return my tv or keep paying $52 Bi Weekly for another 12 months. SO neither of those make sense to me seeing as ive already paid m $500 plus on the tv and it should be mine but if i keep paying for another 12 months ill end up paying another $312 on top of what ive already paid. so either way this is a huge rip off. Because Sears told me there's no interest or anything on this program and that its like a rent to own flat out rate deal. I will NEVER lease to own something from sears or why not lease it ever again. and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about it too. Syracuse, NY
Rtracer, are you a real person? There is no way you can save money with a leasing progam. You are not PAYING on the product. It is renting and not "financing ". This is how people, like me, are being taken by being told that this is financing.
I have done it three times, very good experience, they gave you an opportunity to finance that nobody else would, I always save up and pay off early and it saves you Money! there is a cost to finance, the end cost is up to you and how long you take to pay off, same as simple interest on a retail loan.
These people are predatory lenders. That simple.
refrigerator
The salesman at sears told us that after the first initial payment on a new fridge that we would have 10 more payments and we WOULD OWN the fridge! WRONG! That is paying them the full price of the fridge in that time frame but after the 10th payment we would have the option to continue to lease or pay $600 up front to own the product! That's crap! They lied to us to get a sale, shame on SEARS!
I absolutely agree with this complaint, and think everyone who has been taken advantage of should get together and file a class action suit against this company for giving predatory lo@ns, I bought a refrigerator at Sears, and exactly the same thing happened to me, I have 3 witnesses to what I was told "after 10 payments the refrigerator will be yours" I was so happy when December 10th finally came, and I knew I owned my new refrigerator, then Christmas eve 2015 another 83 dollar charge appeared on my bank statement, I called and told them to come get it, and they said they would, 2 weeks later, another 83 dollars came out, after a few calls and I am not even sure how many more payments, I blocked their access to my account, and told them again to come get it, and they said I'd have to ship it to them! I told them no, and I would be contacting an attorney, and hung up
Purchased a refrigerator at ABC Warehouse through Why Not Lease It. My experience was terrible. I was under the impression that the lease I signed up for allowed my payments to go towards my balance. At least that was the way it was explained to me. I didn't realize until almost a year later that they were still taking payments out of my account, to the point to where a $860.00 refrigerator cost me almost $2, 000.00 after all was said and done (paid $360.00 down, made payments bi-weekly of $55.80 and a payoff of $276.00). The contract reads that I could pay this off at anytime. After realizing I had made well over $1, 400 in payments I contacted them to see how much I owed. There response was that the $55.80 I was paying was comparable to a rental payment and to own it I still needed to pay $276.00). I will tell everyone I know never to deal with this rip off company unless they just want to give money. Salesman didn't understand the way this program works and gave me false information. NEVER WILL DO THIS AGAIN. Back to Aarons where I should have went in the first place!@!
Horrible company
receiving a title of ownership
I am not sure if anyone has had this problem, but I have had to call on several occasions to get them (WhyNotLeaseIt) to send my title. The first time I waited a while and it didn't show up. I called again to ask about it and they said no order had been placed. I then asked them to send it again. I waited even longer that time. Still nothing. I called again and they tell me the same thing. No request had been made and that I should expect it in around 30 days. They also tell me that I will receive an email copy, but I've never gotten such an email. Are they trying to keep me from being able to show proof of ownership or what? Surely there must be something I can do to get what is rightfully mine.

I went to Sears Outlet in Morrow to purchase a washing machine, but after looking at the prices the sales rep indicated of a great sales program called "why Not Lease IT". It was explained as a lease to own with minimal down payment and if you do not want it anymore you can return it. Well I ended up signing for the program and leased a Kenmore washing machine. I kept the washing machine and made payments on time for 2 1/2 months. My husband found us a cash washing machine and I called WhyNotLeaseIt and spoke to a rep who told me to return the washing machine to the Sears store. I returned the washing machine on 04/29/18 and spoke with management who kept saying that "they wasn't able to refund me the amount I paid but they would take the washing machine back. They never gave me paperwork but they received the washing machine. I called WhyNotLeaseIt and then they begin to deny that they told me to take the washing machine back to Sears and stated that I would need to fufill the commitment of the 5 month lease. I advised of the definition of a lease and that Sears received the appliance. My husband goes to Sears Outlet today to talk to manager, the assistant manager informs him that they would have to deliver the washing machine back to our home and WhyNotLeaseIt would need to pick it up. My husband stated that he wouldn't take the washing machine back. Sears stated that it isn't their appliance anymore and it belongs to us! I am so frustrated ! I'm contacting a lawyer for my options!
What type of ownership you looking for? I have had 2 accounts and on my third and never received ownership documents?
I have been trying to get the ownership paperwork for almost two months. My next call will be to the attorney General office to file a complaint
I am in complete shock as to how I let myself get put into a leasing/rental contract with this so-called company Why Not Lease It, through Sears. I actually thought that I was in a leasing agreement with Sears Holdings Corporation itself. I was not told by the Sales Associate that I would be paying on this on a monthly basis and that it was going to be a 18 month rental, with an option to buy out for the appliance, I was told that I would make 4 extra payments of 122.40 for May - August and then the appliance was mine. I was not aware that I would have to either keep leasing it every month for 122.40 and it gets more expensive as you go along. Sears told me that the buy out option would be 297.00, and WNLI says the early buy out option is 612.00. and if I pay the 122.40 for the 4 extra months as quoted by Sears that I would have to pay another 375.00 on top of that plus I agreed to the 139.00 three year service agreement with Sears. I am so upset that I am hoping that someone either sues this company of WNLI and Sears departs from this leasing program, because I had faith in Sears and was so happy that I was finally in a leasing program to purchase a much needed stove and it turns out that Sears put me in a situation that is going to cost me much more money than the item I purchased is worth. I am afraid to give them my financial account information because of many of the reviews I read about are complete horror stories. I hope you did contact the Attorney Generals Office and got some good news from them.
They stink,
the rep didn't send terms and payments amounts
I got lease from the company WhyNotLeaseIt. I paid them the first payment, but the rep promised to provide terms and payment amounts. I waited for them, but of course this jerk didn’t provide it. I sent multiple emails, but still no response. These people are scammers and liars, who promise a lot, but in result you get nothing. Please post your comments about this company.
Why not lease it is the worse company ever It's just a rip off, you end up paying more than triple the value of the item you lease never again
my husband and I got me a new wedding band and we were talked into using this why not lease it program and they have stole money out of the checking account 349$ to be exact and when called about it it wasnnotjing but it I'm sorry oh we can't do anything about it oh what can we say
they have kept hanging up on me
On 9/4/18 our credit card last 4 numbers are 6082 was changed $981.23 and would like to know what charge is about as we don't lease anything!
Debra Callison
our total came up to 500.00 we went kmart in kentucky
we have been paying for about a year we pay 56.97 every two weeks and they said we still owe 250.00 this a rip off and i want them to stop calling and harrassing us and give us the money back for over charging us with and this crazy and we dont owe 250.00
The program is designed to take advantage of people that can't afford to buy merchandise full price. it is designed to keep you in financial bondage.
We purchased a range hood through why not less it about 7 Months ago. They didn't have the color that my wife wanted so she chose the white stove top. Within the first 6 or 7 Months of purchaseing the items, two of the burners look as if they are burned. We've tried all means to clear the discoloration with no success, do you have any suggestions?

poor overall
errible, rude customer service, unwilling to work with customers, they misrepresent their company to lure customer, make sure read the contract, scratch that, would advice anyone to stay away from this company, you would end up paying triple the price of item. They act like the customers need them and they don't need the customer, they need to do some business training, they are nothing without we the cusumers

I agree it is more expensive but you need to read the agreement. Everything you need to know is in there. It is only a rip off if you dont know their expectations
they didn't come many times
First I ordered one laptop from WhyNotLeaseIt and it was supposed to come three weeks ago. There was supposed to be a missing part on address so in return they were going to try to deliver the next day. I stayed at home and waited the whole day again, but they didn’t come and said they would try again but I could not stay home anymore.
I too have been over charged! They have taken $2700 for a $600 pool. I have called many times to stop these payments. they do not care! I am calling will file a BBB complaint. It's ridiculous! Kmart and Sears shouldn't offer this service at all. it is nothing but a scam. It should be shut down asap.
C1816/0 - Purchased refrigerator on 4/7/208 for $881.98. I paid $167.40 for 4 months as agreed. They said an email was sent at the end of lease purchase (sent to wrong email). To end this nightmare I had to pay an additional $110. Since it was not my fault I feel I should receive a refund of all money paid from the end of the lease over the cost.
this is bs
last august i called why not lease it (why not lose it)
they told us we need to pay $436 more (we already paid more than 10 payments)
so now i found out that i could have paid off the item back then
why they tell you lies?
so you can pay more
THIEVES I'M GOING TO SUD THIS ASSHOILES
Stole over including intrest 2, 800.00
789.00 in intrest
Cita refused to comment about it wont give money back I want to sue them for all damages to finance and distress husband has PTSD
thieves
I have used WhyNotLeaseIt before and that's not how their program works. They don't sell merchandise they offer you leasing terms as a way to pay for merchandise that you get from a local store. Stores have the option of choosing to offer the whynotleaseit program just like they do a credit card. If you did not receive your laptop that's the stores fault not whynotleaseit.
they rip off people
It's just a reap off, customer service has very bad attitude, you end up paying more than triple the value of the item you lease. I did it once and when i tried to buy out the furniture it was as if i was just going to the store and i had to pay almost full price (I had already made all my payments) i end it up paying $1000 for a $500 piece of furniture. Never again! Beware of why not lease it!

I am so angry with this company and Sears! The lady at Sears told me I would have the lawnmower paid off in 12 months at $305.00 a month. The "contract" for me to sign and read was on one of those signing tiny tablets at the register. She assured me it would be emailed to me and explained again that I would OWN the product around 12 months. I was like great! well that was far from the truth! 1. they started charging me $305 twice a month, WHO PAYS THAT MUCH FOR A CRAFTSMAN? I could go get a damn John Deer or Kubota for that price. Then they informed me I had 90 days to pay off $2810.00 or keep paying the $610.00 a month until October then return the mower? SAY WHAT? you mean AFTER I PAY OFF THE MOWER I GIVE IT BACK TO YOU!? This is a horrible program! misleading! and a SHAM! Horrible, I feel so stupid for trusting what the girl was saying and not asking for a print out. DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM!
Stay away unless you are absolutely desperate. You will pay 3 times the amount of the purchase price. This program does not help your credit. The only time this program does anything to your credit is if you don't pay they will report it. If you pay you are in good standing with them. They do not report your payments to the credit companies. I wish I had just sucked it up and payed cash for the stove I bought but they guy at Sears made it sound like this was the easy way to go. He just wanted a sale out of me. I should have read the contract better but every where I looked it seemed to me like I was only going to make 3 payments after my first down payment. I didn't realize you had to call them before the final payment and pay a settlement fee. This is crazy.
I was at SEARS store seen this and it was told to me by store Rep it was like a easy pay plan, Basally am very upset I used this plan for some tools at SEARS and they will closes in a month out of business sale now. I will cancel my bank card and these fools can just stand in line or pick these tools up not paying them on Copper Penney .
Very poor customer service and cant even complete transaction on line.
was told about 7 times in 4 days it is fixed now you can make your purchase.
Still never went through keep getting same error.
So they told me just go to the store it will work there.
Problem is even if it works there is no contract to read befor entering into an agreement.
Why would anyone enter into something with out being able to read the contract.
Now that is a joke. lol.
Why Not Lease It is abusing it's ability to have access to your bank account information! BE WARNED. At first they will start taking the payments as scheduled but within a short period of time, they start taking multiple payments and sometimes 2-3 times a week. They will tell you that you are behind in your payments and they are catching up! I had only made the first payment and the next month they took 34 payments out of my account, totally
depleting the funds in my bank account. They WILL NOT put the money back and will continue until you close the account. There is no other way
to stop the madness! My own bank would not cooperate and stop them from taking the money, they gave it to them and told me to work it out
with Why Not Lease It. After attempting to even call the corporate office and numerous attempts to resolve the matter, I gave up! I will not
give them one more dime until someone wants to reach out to me from the corporate office and tell me they aren't scamming money from people's
accounts. Those of you who said you had a good experience have to be an insider writing the comments!
May I ask, I know they have your Bank Card but that's a Card report it stolen and get a new Card with new number, unless they know you banking checking account number. I myself told my bank in my checking account that I don't want them to take a charge in if my account don't have the funds, that's a protection line of credit
My husband leased an item but never paid for it... Still in the box and never used. Can I bring the item back. I, his wife went to court for it and now they are doing wage garnishment on me. But get this, he's going to be getting a huge amount of money from SSI and Workmans Comp and they the lawyers can't or won't garnish that to get it paid off. Now Can I just return the item ? Never used it and still in the box, Brand new...?
An Air Compressor
Leased a couch at Sears and was TOLD after my 5 payments was up the couch would be ours, we're getting a good deal, i'm approved for even more credit ETC. I mean really oversold the product. I paid my 5 payments and when month 6 came, i noticed another payment out of my account. I called Why Not Lease It and waited an hour for them to pick up and they told me i can continue leasing the couch $200 a month, purchase it for an ADDITIONAL $600 paid off within 6 weeks, or return the couch. I'VE NEVER BEEN SCAMMED THIS BAD IN MY LIFE. Sears never mentioned additional payments after the lease agreement and this company knows for sure they are a scam. The representative was rude and you can tell they deal with complaints all day. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH WHY NOT LEASE IT.
This company is also Contempo...whatever that is. I bought a piece of equipment after being railroaded into this lease at the register. I returned the first piece of equipment and was told since it was on my debit card the original purchase credit would go "right back into my account", which was a lie. That was April 8, 2017. It is June 15, 2017 and I still do not have the refund, they have repeatedly lied to me about "issuing a refund check". When I returned the initial piece of equipment (should have left it at that!) I replaced it with another one...big mistake. I paid another sizable "down payment" for the second piece of equipment. After 45 days of not receiving my refund for the initial piece of equipment they didn't reduce my account by the amount owed to me and they helped themselves to my bank account and charged me an additional $20.00 on the day my payment was due. As of today, still have not received my refund for the initial piece of equipment and they are claiming I owe them more than what my lease agreement states and are compounding interest daily. If I had it to do over..I would have looked on line for reviews about them and would have never purchased anything with them ASSociated with it. Their customer service is horrible. Turning my complaint, recorded phone calls, receipts and bank records over to the authorities, if they have scammed you I urge you to do the same.
My credit is pretty good, and I used why not lease it for some outdoor furniture that was on sale. Had I known what I was about to experience, I would have not used the program. My monthly payments for the 5 month period was $99.36. After completing the 5 month period I had paid $496.80. The month before the last payment (month 4) I called for the buy out price they told me it was $336. After the last payment was made, they deducted $99.36 from my account. Under the circumstances that this payment was going toward the buyout. After talking with the customer service representative, they told me that the payment would continue until the buyout contract was satisfied or for the duration period of 18 months. That payment was not deducted from the 336.00 and that I still owed the $336.00. After trying to explain to the service rep that the payment should be applied to buyout that was left, they continued to insist that the payment would not be applied to $336.00. As soon as I said that this was a rip-off and that I would be calling the Better Business Bureau she immediately said "I would need to talk to her supervisor." After explaining what my concern was and why the $99.36 would not be deducted from the buyout amount of $336.00, he told me that it would be deducted; leaving me $236.64. It took all of 15 minutes to get it resolved after speaking with the supervisor. However, one thing for sure I will not ever again use this service. The item was on sale for $499 and I have paid $829.77, a total of $330.77. A lesson learned!
I used this company on two different purchases and each lease well after the buy out is settled debits my account. This is not an error. 4 times they did the same thing I believe they attempt to steal from you in hope that it is not noticed. They are thieves and i intend on escalating my complaint. I feel there are many people that did not catch their game and are owed money. Always make sure the payment is owed and Dont ever give them a bank accountnumber and be sure to deactivate your debit card after the buy out.as if they don't rip you off enough with the interest! Really frustrating.
