Whataburger review: Manager complaint

A coworker of mine, Nyima Johnston, stopped at a Whataburger located at Ben White (71) and Manchaca in Austin, TX last night to purchase dinner. She ordered a chicken sandwich, paid, was NOT given a receipt, waited a half hour, and was told they were out of the chicken sandwiches. She requested a receipt and a refund. The manager, named Jeremy, came over and told her she would not be provided with with either, despite paying and receiving no food. She decided to wait so this situation could be resolved, and the manager decided to call the cops. because of the nature of the managers call, 5 squad cars showed up to deal with the situation. Nyima, who is a Black woman, rightfully felt this was an overreach considering this was a dispute over a refund. Luckily, the cops were reasonable, and she was provided with a receipt, but the manager told her she was banned from the location, and if she were to return, she would be trespassing, threatening to call the cops regarding future interaction. considering the poor handling of the situation. Luckily no one was hurt, but it's a tall order to call the cops on a Black woman who was seeking a refund after not receiving the items she paid for.
